Aden could feel the sense of dread and a little guilt from Taoré, a piece of information that he decided to ignore for now and question Taoré about at a later time, when they new each other a little better. Listening as he spoke abou the Jedi way, Aden gave one slow nod of his head, "Very interesting. An unorthodox way of putting it forward but true in its essence. Though I would like you to read through the code and the tenets. You seem to have understood some parts right now, but true understanding will come with time and experience. We shall discuss them in more detail once you know them all, tenets and elements of the code alike. Now as I mentioned we shall spend some time on the powers of the Force. Tell me, have you used or are aware of any particular techniques?"

"The Force has come to show me what I could not before. I can sense people's presence and the environment around me, if it is dangerous or not. It also has heightened my strength, speed, and endurance to inhuman levels. I also seem to have developed telekinetic abilities... But I'd rather not get into details with that..." he said, thinking about how potent his pulls and pushes were, that were it not for his speed, he'd have a hole in his head thanks to him trying to summon his lightsaber to him during his early days of training. Or what happened a few days ago when he took out an entire wall of a cantina, along with at least 2 dozen Rodians with it.

"Even then, I don't know the full extent or limits of what I can and can't do..." Taoré admitted, and this was perfectly true. He doubted that Force Sensitive initiates could shatter buildings with a single push, but he also doubted they would be in more control like he was. As such he lacked the ability or knowledge of the full extent of what he could do.

Once more he felt that Taoré was hiding something, and from the way he spoke it seemed to be connected to his usage of the Force. Interesting, he would have to figure this out at some point and resolve the issue. "Very well, lets first go through a few basic techniques to get a better understanding of your abilities. You say you have some telekinetic abilities, so lets start there. But we shall focus on the finer control of telekinesis and not developing brute strength."

From within his robes he drew out a small bag he had been protecting with the Force till now. Holding it up he revealed it to be full of eggs. "The exercise will be simple, I will throw an egg at you and you will attempt to catch it with the Force. Try to be gentle unless you want to burst them. We shall start slowly and then pick up speed. Sit and we shall start."

As they both sat down on the floor, Aden removed an egg from the bag and slowly threw it at Taoré.

[OOC:RP out a few turns of catching the egg with increasing levels of difficulty.]

Taoré reacted almost instantly to the egg being thrown. He panicked a second, knowing the outcome. Nevertheless, he reached to hold it in place, but to his surprise, it did not shatter on impact. However though it held in place, the inertial force was causing it to swing wildly. Taoré concentrated harder, but by doing so, he shattered the egg once it had stabilized.

Dammit. He thought. That was the first time he caught something in the air without it shattering instantly.

He watched his master toss a few more into the air, this time one after the other. This continued, until he managed to stabilize the egg without breaking it, but he began to feel drained.

His master, however, appeared to be satisfied, (Finally..thought Taoré) after what seemed like forever and immediately tossed 2 into the air at the same time in rapid succession. Unfortunately, in spite of his fantastic reaction time, in the span of one second, one egg shattered instantly, causing its contents to splurt out everywhere in widespread mess. The other egg spun, before it came to a screeching halt within a palm`s reach of Taoré.

"Whoa, that was close."he said, letting go of the egg with his mind, letting it drop into his outstretched hand.

Though it was clear by now, he felt it best to be explained as best he could.

"Whenever I stretch out to the Force and use telekinesis, it seems to grip hold with such force that if I stop something, it crumples, if I push something, everything around it, including it gets shattered and destroyed, and pulling things can kill people." He said meekly, but pulled up his lightsaber as proof.

"Were it not for me seeing it coming, this thing would've taken out my eye, and it wouldn't have needed to be activated."

He felt like an idiot. Jedi were supposed to know how to limit the amount they put behind their motions, but with him, it just causes as much harm as it did good.

He handed the egg back to his Master. He felt his stomach rumble. Of all the things he forgot, his accelerated metabolism kicked in. Taoré figured from using the Force to enhance his abilities, that afterwards, the backlash of needing sustanence was to be expected. He checked his chrono: It was noon hour standard time, which was about 4 hours since training began. Had the duel and this basic practice taken so long? He must've been training longer than he realized.

Aden smiled as he heard his padawan's stomach crumble, "Come lets get you something to eat first. Can't really do much on an empty stomach."

A few minutes later they were seated in the temple mess, a plate of steaming hot food and glasses full of water and some weird concoction the lunch lady had called Juba juice placed in front of them. As Taoré gulped down his food Aden waited patiently for him to finish.

Finally when both their plates were empty, Aden led them to the outer courtyards and sitting down on the grass began talking once more. "What you currently lack is finer control, something that will ultimately improve with practice. Let us try a few exercises now that I hope will help you."

Once again bringing out the remaining eggs, he placed them in front of Taoré, "I want you to pick up one of the eggs with your hand. Now focus on the way you are grasping that egg in your hand, firm enough to not let it slip out, but at the same time gentle enough so as to not break it. Imagine the Force to be your other hand, and using what you learned from your other hand, pick up the other egg through the Force. Firm but gentle. Take your time and focus on the eggs and your hand with the exclusion of everything else. Following your own hand's example might make it easier to get a better understanding of what you should be doing."

Taoré took the egg with his left hand. He felt the cool outer shell press against his skin. Think of it as your other hand... He closed his eyes, attempting to stretch out with the Force, he raised his right hand gently, trying to move it with his mind. He felt the egg twitch in his hand, before it finally left the grasp of his fingertips altogether. This suddenly caused him to open his eyes and the egg fell. His speed managed to catch the egg before it hit the grass, but he felt a tad frustrated. He could almost see the egg floating in front of him, but the second he opened his eyes, gone.

"I believe I make an accomplishment, and when I try to confirm it, it drops right in front of me." He said. It was clear in his thoughts he didn't know how one such as his master could literally "see" through the Force. He had kept his wits and senses about him his whole life; to lose one of those senses would feel offputting.

"But you have made improvement. Practice is what you need. Practice till you are comfortable enough to be able to do this whether your eyes are open or closed. I will leave you here for today, I think we have done enough for a day. We shall continue tomorrow."

The next day they met again in one of the smaller training chambers and continued with the same exercise, "Try to remain calm, think of this as any other activity that you do. If you manage to catch the egg properly using the Force then don't think of it as anything special. Visualize it in your mind and match what you feel with what you expect to see so that when you open your eyes you do not loose your focus."

Taoré didn't see how being excited and proud of his improvements affected how he felt. He had always been the guy to total everything when he moved it, so the fact he had grown slightly in his control was... well to the say the least he took pride in it.

"I don't understand, Master."He said, his expression as unsure as he felt, because the transition from closing his eyes and concentrating, or leaving his eyes wide open to concentrate, while neither presenting a major problem, but shifting even the slightest motion of his eyes, was difficult. Even though he was aware of his environments through the Force, he lacked the vision to "see" and feel his true environment.

"I mean, I can concentrate, but I feel as if I lack the sight to transition from sight and lack thereof." he continued, trying as best he could to make any sense.

"Very well, them let us try a different approach. Let us first make you see what is truly around you and then maybe you will know what to do with what you see."

Drawing a piece of cloth from within his robes, he tore it up to make a few strands four or five fingers wide. Passing them to Taoré he continued, "Look around yourself carefully, take in as much as you can. Now tie those around your eye. Make sure you cannot see anything with your eyes. Once that is done I want you to focus on what you saw before, remember your surroundings as your saw then, focus on that image and reach out with the Force, feel everything around you. Confirm what you had seen before by reaching out to it with the Force. If you remember seeing this flower here then reach out to it and touch it through the Force so that you know without a shred of doubt that it is indeed there. Once you are sure of what is around you, when you can feel it to be the same as what you saw with your eyes, we will move on to the next step."

Taoré took a deep breath, gathering in all the sights around him, before tying the cloth around his eyes. When he knew he could no longer see, he began to try and picture in his mind the environment around himself. The Force seemed to respond to his thoughts, but it would not completely yield to him, as he felt himself began to shake. Forcing himself to focus, he visualized at long last the flower his Master had pointed out. But instead of it coming in the form of normal vision, it was an odd shade of green, which Taoré realized it must be alive. He looked at himself and his master, who both eminated the same shade of green. He turned to a rock he felt was inches from his person, but not seeing it there. Inorganic. he thought, before turning to try and reach out for the flower, but before he could prod it through the Force, he felt himself crumple slightly.

After a moment, he weakly pushed the blindfold up so he could see, feeling his face and shoulders drenched in sweat.

"Guess that takes a lot out of you."he said, which sounded more like a question. "It was strange, because I could almost see things, but it felt like a jade hue was around them, not really fully formed, but it seemed as if the Force would pull the curtain back, but like an elastic binding, would shoot back if I pressed passed a certain point." He explained, trying to rub off the sweat from his body.

"Then it is that curtain that you must slowly try to breach. The Force acts in different ways for different people, showing them what they need to see. At first you will only be able to see those within whom the Force flows strongest, living things. But over time things will become more clear, things that you could not see before will become visible to you, because no matter what it may be, the Force flows through everything, binding the entire universe together. Give it another try, push as far as you can, reach out as far as you can. We will make you comfortable with reaching till that point, try pushing a little further every time. Once you can sustain this much with more ease, we will push further, pulling the curtain completely and see the true brilliance of the world around you."

(OOC: TIME SKIP (will explain in post)

Taoré, in mock resignation, closed his eyes and tried again. Each time attempting to break the boundaries, and when he felt he had gone a little further, the rubber band in his mind and flow would snap back. Each time, he had felt another side of the Force his father, by way of his notes, never explained to him: The Force has a sense of humor indeed. This method of training, along with basic telekinetic practice, along with various sparring lessons, sometimes even against other Padawans, along with obstacle courses set up by his Master, continued over the next handful of weeks.

Finally accustomed to his environment, Taoré woke up one morning, feeling the muscles in his back seize up: A shot in the back from his Master`s staff wasn`t something to be snuffed at. For an old man, he sure was strong. It was barely light out. He knew he had a late start this morning because he was going to be put through another obstacle course today, so he rolled over, trying to close his eyes once more, grateful for sleep: He was rarely punctual when it came to him waking up.

As he drifted into sleep, he felt a sharp pang, like a vibroblade being inserted between one`s ribs. In his mind`s eye, he saw a familliar shape, a ravaged woman in black, and felt the cold bitterness of the Dark Side of the Force seep around him. He reached for his lightsaber, to find it not there. As he turned, he saw the ravaged woman reach for vicious looking blades as she lunged for him, pinning him to the ground, one of the blade`s to his throat.

"This is all your fault!"she screamed, before feeling his eyes snap awake. Cold sweat all over his body. He looked at the sun: It was midday. He tried to sit up, trying to scramble, before he felt a hand press him back to his bed: His Master's.

((OOC: He could sense the Dark Side as well! ALL the Jedi could!))

Aden had left felt the ongoing turmoil within Taoré's mind all the way from the Jedi library, having become accustomed to his padawan's presence in the Force, his struggles visible to him like a blazing inferno on a starless night. He had told Taoré to take the day off after a rather rigorous sparring session the day before but his growing concern had drawn him to his room to check up on him.

As Taoré woke and attempted to rise from the bed, Aden gently pushed him back down. "Relax, everything's alright. Stay down, remember the calming techniques I taught you."

As Taoré's breathing steadied and he rose once more, Aden handed him a glass of water. "Dreams again?"

Taoré took a few more breaths before speaking.

"Not like that before."he said, reaching over to his table with the Force (he had finally progressed to moving simple objects without killing himself) to grab the glass of water and took a huge gulp.

"It's strange: It came so suddenly, as if a blade was inserted between my ribs, then it was gone. It felt like the Force was trying to warn me of something, but I don't know what, when, or where this warning is pertaining to..." He explained, though he could bet his Master felt the darkness in his mind.

Aden took in everything that Taoré said, and also a lot of what he was not revealing. He had felt the darkness growing within him as he had been dreaming and a little of the darkness still lingered in his mind. "A warning from the Force? Visions in the Force are very unpredictable, very rare. The future is not a fixed thing, always changing; so what you think you saw might not even come to pass. Though I think there is a greater chance that it could just as easily have been a dream."

Aden himself did not think it had been a simple dream, the way the Force had gathered around Taoré before he had woken up had made Aden think otherwise. "Irrespective of whether or not it was indeed a warning from the Force, you need to stay mindful of yourself. Looking forward in fear will not help you. If the Force indeed has something planned for you then the best you can do is live your life now to the fullest and deal with the future when it is here. Train hard, like nothing has happened, so that if the Force indeed throws a challenge your way you will be prepared to face it." He hoped that Taoré would react positively to this, that he wouldn't fixate on this "dream" and live in fear or dread of it. The dark side of the Force needed but a small crack to creep in and fear was one of the simplest ways to let it in.

Taoré thought for a moment on what his master said and eventually nodded. Sure that imagery wasn`t something to snort at, but perhaps, if and when that time should come to pass, he would be ready for it.

"Well seeing as I'm clearly late for the obstacle course, I figure we're going straight there?" said Taoré, letting a hint of cheek let loose in his voice.

Hearing Taoré's reply, Aden couldn't help but be glad that he was taking this the right way. That would make things much more easier to deal with. Humor evident in his voice he answered his student's question, "Yes, thats where we will be headed. That is if you don't have any other pressing matter to attend to. If you're planning to run into a blade then I suppose you could take the day off." He hoped that his attempts at humor would lighten Taoré's mood a little more.

Taoré burst out laughing. After a few seconds, he centred himself.

"No, falling onto a blade would SUCK!" he said before chuckling again. After a second, he threw his blanket off him, and strapped on his durasteel chestplate. If the last obstacle course was any indication, having the wind nearly knocked out of him, he was going to need it. After hitching up his gear, he followed his Master out the door and down the hall.

After a while, Taoré realized they had gone quite a ways from the Temple, all the while he could swear he heard his Master humming something between a Monostatic Hymn and a Galactic Alternative song that he had heard at some point a week ago. Apparently, while Jedi don`t hold onto many possesions, they can at least be allowed to have a sense of taste. he thought, before his Master halted about a few feet from the edge of a cliff.

Taoré looked over the edge of the cliff to find a very long way down. He immediately began to not like this course at all.

"You don`t seriously expect me to actually jump off that cliff, do you?" he asked, his concerns very legitmate: Even stretching out to the Force he sensed no way on the way down to break his fall.

Aden just laughed at Taoré's remark, "Don't tell me you're scared of heights? Don't worry, nothing that dramatic." Stepping to the edge, he reached out to the Force and waved his hand and cleared away some of the mist that had been gathering along the cliff's sheer walls a little below them. The receding mist revealed a small ledge about two dozen meters below them.

"That is our destination. It leads into a small cave which happens to be infested by a pack of Nexu. We'll be navigating through the cave, trying to avoid them and leave from the other end. I'll tell you more below. Aim for the ledge, use the Force to slow your fall and direct yourself if need be."

Saying so he walked up to the edge and simply stepped off from the edge. His body fell through the air, his speed controlled through the Force, his poise straight so that he landed softy on the edge. Looking up he shouted to Taoré, "Coming?"

Taoré, feeling his breathing slow thanks to the mist disappating (strange how he could not sense that ledge) and jumped down. He stretched out to the Force to slow his descent and prayed that his own power would not strain the ledge (given his power and still considerable lack of control over larger objects) but in spite of a slightly heavy landing (coming down flat on his back with a THUD! But recovered quickly) he managed a relative smooth landing.

As he caught up with his Master, he asked him.

"Ok, I`ve been around the galaxy enough times, seen a lot of strange things, but what exactly are Nexu?" He asked, curious because he grew up in more urban sectors of the galaxy, not really finding many beasts, unless they were shown in entertainment and circuses.

They entered the cave and immediately, he felt the Force tingle through his fingertips and core. It was like stepping through a shower of water: the rush stimulating the senses in equal fashion. He felt his Master's blind eyes turned to him, perhaps seeing far more than his own healthy eyes could as his body tingled.
