Ner'vod I am here to help.....I think the #1 thing to do is, like you have said, is to make the name more Mando. And if we really fix up the Taung, I would consider joining them. For I am a big Mando fan.

We can't flat out call them Mandalorians. Instead, it will probably be The Taung of Mandalore, or something like that. I'm pretty against using Mando'a in the title before anyone suggests it.

Honestly, I have no problem with just calling them the Taungs...even with ranks that are Mandalorian titles.

Neither do I, but from a RP attraction standpoint it's not doing us any favors just calling them Taungs. It's not screaming Mandalorian to those who aren't as familiar with early Mandalorian history.

Taungs of Mandalore sounds good then.

Perhaps you could make it so only a certain number of Taung clans are in alleigence with the Hutts, and these clans are mostly inhabitants of Mandalore, giving them a reason to name themselves the Taung of Mandalore. Just a suggestion.

So then there'd still be some independent clans out there? And where would they be?

There might be a secret surviving clan living on Coruscant still. They could be like spies for the Hutts.

In the history, it mentions Gorbagg fighting the Taung and enlisting them into the military after coming to a draw with them in battle.

So perhaps some clans refused to work with the Hutts and fled?

I had a similar idea but I think allowing them to be played would only separate the Taung faction in the end. Allowing them to be around in only a NPC sense is a great idea. Sort of a way to allow strife for the Taung if they ever want to present it. It would be cool for Mandalore to declare war on one of the clans and the Taung members could participate in wiping them out. Just my two cents.

Also my character is finally up if anyone wants to take a peak.

This is just my opinion.....but I can't really see that happening very easily. The clans would unite under Mandalore......entire clans wouldn't just cast his leadership aside. The way I see it the only way there could be a opposition faction within the taung would be something like a precurssor to the deathwatch

Well I only had the idea because Mandalore the First was the first one to unite the clans and this is before that so in order to enforce that it would make sense that some clans aren't under him. I thought that it wouldn't really matter but someone else suggested it so I'm just jumping on the bandwagon lol.

Mandalore the First was also the one to lead them off Courascant......note that they are already off the planet and inhabiting the planet that was named after Mandalore.....so this is after is time even if the dates don't match up. Not everything follows strict dates here.

Mandalore the First was not the one who led them off Coruscant, he was the one who established Mandalore after leaving Roon but we are tweaking that a little to have the planet and pre-Mandalore name here. Brandon said he wanted to keep Mandalore the First where he was at 7,000 BBY so it could be deducted that not all the clans are under one banner. It could also add a little flavor to the Taung in writing their backstory. Either way it would be up to Brandon and whoever is the leader of the Mandalorians to decide that when it comes up.

Not according to Wookiepedia. And that is, in my opinion, retarded. As without Mandalore the First there is no cause to use Mandalore as the title or use the word Mandalore at all. So in essense they are still the Warriors of the Shadow not Mandalorian Taungs....

There is even no way that Mandalore would fight against his own people for the sake of the Hutts. I personally don't see that happening at all even if some Taungs turned against the Hutts which is not that impossible since the Taungs don't like the Hutts anyway, and I am sure some of them would refuse to fight side by side with Tusa.
