Taung: New Leadership

Hey Taung, Hutts, and SWRPers alike,

I'll take a minute here to make an announcement. As of this moment, we have a new Mandalore- CK57, with his character Vincent A'den.

In addition, the Taung subfaction will now be open to non-Taung species characters. However, there are some restrictions:

• Your character WILL be shunned by the highly xenophobic Taung.
  Your character can not have grown up with the Taung, except for the A'den clan with CK's permission. Other characters will be external, be it Hutt soldier elite or independent mercenaries.

I'm sure CK will follow up with an introductory post. Moderator powers will be complete tonight, and I hope to see some productivity from this subfaction! I know we've got a lot of potential here, so let's show those Republic Commandos who's who.

Thank you Santoro for letting me fill the position, I've been eager to take the Taung since the reforms a while back when I was still leading DSS.

To everyone else, I plan on getting this faction active for once, hopefully breaking that curse it seems to have. The allowance of non-Taungs into the Mandalorian faction should help. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to start working on profiles or submitting them to me via PM untill the official sign-ups are up.

To the Republic, you'll actually have an elite unit not named Darksaber to contend with. Be afraid, very afraid..... :CStern

The idea I had was that he had been conquered/enslaved at a young age (which is kinda supported by canon, I'm pretty sure Togorians were one of the races like Cathar that the Mandalorians opened their ranks too eventually). After proving his mettle, he is 'freed' but by that point has been all but brain washed and glorifies the Taung and wants to be one. Would something like that be doable?

Would depend pretty heavily on how he proved himself. We could RP that out now, considering that a non-Taung Mando has just taken the leadership mantle it'd make sense for him to give others a similar opportunity to prove themselves in exchange for loyalty.

While this isn't the place for this, I'll make a note that we haven't worked together, so I'm not sure where your frame of reference comes from. Most of the working I did with the Taung was through Rameth- before you start on him, he had no part on this decision, and said nothing poor of you during his stay, which is better than what I can say for you.

I'm sorry it's been an unpleasant experience, though I also don't remember a time where you sucked up or did little more than sit on the title. In my attempt to be a better faction leader, I'm giving someone else a chance.

On that note, we won't have any more discussion about the topic here- if you want to tell me exactly how I'm running the Hutts into the ground then a PM would be ideal. Any more posts like that and I'll just delete them, because this is a happy thread.
