Greetings everyone,

With the recent influx of Mandalorian members, I wanted to put out a clarifying announcement. Although the rules about the topic were changed some time ago, I don't believe this was ever officially announced and there are still many confusing write-ups out there regarding this topic.

A section was added to the tech rules regarding lightsaber resistant metals (pure beskar/phrik/chromium/etc.). These metals are capable of blocking a single strike from a lightsaber or fully absorbing a single shot from a blaster. They are only allowed in armor in very limited amounts (1-2 minor pieces, most commonly bracers). Many of you already know this part.

The confusing part comes in that there are many write-ups out there still from before these rules were put into place that reference beskar-alloy, beskar-mesh, beskar-weave, beskar-what-have-you. These are not functionally the same as just "beskar" or (more accurately termed) "pure beskar." I would highly encourage members to avoid using these hybrid words (beskar-alloy, beskar-mesh, beskar-weave, beskar-what-have-you) to avoid confusion. These hyrbid words are effectively no different in function than durasteel.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
