Hey! I thought I'd set up a little thread where people can brainstorm new tech ideas. It's a great system we have in place here, and I love seeing the one einventive technology as well as unique concepts. All ideas are welcome!

I had an idea for a set of kinda like wings, using a system similar to the Virago's thrusters except also using repulsorlifts to allow for sustained flight with intuitive movement controls.

Just create a set of wings and have a geat source that creates hot pockets. No, not the food. Under the wings to allow for sustained flight.

Bad ass glider setup. Boom.

Ah, yeah! It would create pockets of air current that would allow it incredible gliding capabilities. I could probably integrate a jetpack into it that would allow it to reach altitude before gliding.

I have lots of ideas, but they'd be game-changing technologies and I'm holding them pretty close to my chest.

Thank you for contributing to the thread, mate. Very nice reply you have there.

I haven't had too many tech ideas lately, but if anybody in this thread decides to make one a reality and wants help proofreading it/possibly writing it, feel free to hit me up.

I had this idea for a carried shield for use in melee combat. It'd essentially be a vibroshield that has a magseal energy field covering the front of it. Does that seem practical in any capacity?

Fairly certain that's already been done, actually, although as a piece of personal tech, not something commonly available.

What about a graviton gun of some sort? It would shoot at an enemy ship, creating a strong localized gravity field at the point of impact, crumpling their hulls.

Don't take me as any authority, but I don't think they like having gravitic weapons in this RP much anymore.

The acronym OP starts to come to mind.

The thing I was talking about. It's not like a vibro-shield that Kar Vastor was using or anything, but it does do the magseal thing.

Hmm. What if it was a very lown strength field that only weakens the armor. Basically it creates artificial weak points for subsequent laser fire.

You guys know Batman Beyond? Terry McGinnis as the Batman of Tomorrow, Bruce Wayne is like 81 and can't fight anymore but is Terry's mentor and all that?

Remember the Batsuit from that series? No? Let me refresh you then.

Form fitting suit of armor that didn't look like spandex, auto plus right there.

Built in camera feed and vision spectrums, allowing a user to see in pretty much any version of the visible light spectrum.

Mini-servos located on the joints (elbows, knees) to boost the physical capabilities of the user, i.e they could jump higher, punch harder, dodge faster.

Had a rechargeable energy source that practically powered itself through kinetic energy, aka the more you moved, the longer the suit lasted (minus certain functions, such as)

Magnetic boots and Active Camo. Drained the battery pretty quickly if used too long/much, but damn handy to have.

Radio and high powered recording devices built into the fingers.

Freaking claws.

Retractable wings to glide with and friggun jets in the boots!

Barely feasible but awesome armor built into every orifice of the suit via a reactive gel like substance that would harden as soon as contact was made, be it physical or energy based.

Somehow, lightweight.

I plan on making a version of this armor here XD

Duuuude. I loved that show. And that armor was sweet.

So...wait.

>Helmet can record video, full spectrum vision range - Video recording is normal; full spectrum vision range, not so much. I'd probably leave it at visual and IR if I were doing it.
>Power Armor
>Rechargeable Power Source based on movement of the wearer - I'm not sure how to make this work, but I'm sure it can be done. Might be better off going with a more normal power source, though, rather than trying to explain how it converts the kinetic energy of the wearer into electrical energy for the suit, especially with the power armor servos draining power all the time.
>Electro-magnetic boots, that drain power: Not sure how useful these would be, but go for it.
>Active camo too: You might be better off just leaving this one out, and keeping your armour relatively stealth-based.
>High-powered recording devices in fingers of gauntlets: Might be better off keeping these with the cameras in the helmet.
>Radio in fingers: Same as above. Keep it in the helmet. All those would do would put things in your gauntlets to get damaged in a fight, anyways.
>Claws: Yeah, whatever, we have knuckle-plate vibroblades and stuff too. Go for it. Wouldn't recommend keeping the above two items in there if you have the claws, though.
>Retractable wings and jets in boots: Okay, here, it gets somewhat ridiculous with the number of other things you have in the armour already, y'know what I mean? I mean, the HALO armour on this forum is built for High Altitude Low Opening stuff, sure, and has wings to use, but it doesn't have the jets or anything, or a lot of the other stuff this has. That, and Outlander just made a jump-pack wing suit, that you could easily use alongside this. Beyond that, you might be better off with just a standard jump/repulsor lift pack, for reasons I'll get to with the last thing.
>Reactive Gel armour: I'm not entirely sure, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't all that common on the forum, and I don't recall having seen it get approved much. Beyond that, when you get into stuff about fluid dynamics and stuff, to have a fluid like this that would be able to resist impacts from bullets or bolts or the like, it would get relatively heavy. Which leads me to the last point...

>Light: Haha, no. The servos for it being power armour might help to alleviate some of the heaviness, but when you factor in the protective factor, the fact that it is power armour, the way the power source would work, and stuff like that, this isn't going to be particularly light. At least, not if you want it being useful against anything larger than pistols/light carbines. At least not in my experience with things on this site anyways.
