Planet Jedha
(Cinematic Theme Song!)
Jedha had been a massive scar within the Jedi Order, ever since the day of the Skyward Sword and though the Jedi tried to forget, so to speak, the planet constantly brought the Order back to the planet in which so many Jedi had lost their lives because of a single selfish act. An act that burned within the occupants and left a stain for the Order to try and break free from, but it would take more than a few incidents before the Jedi could ever be forgiven; even if it wasn’t their fault. All the occupants knew was, a Jedi ship had left the hanger and bore down on the planet’s surface killing a large number of Jedi, and dealing a decisive blow to the Order. But their troubles wouldn’t end there, no. The people of Jedha became even more victimized when the Sith decided to rain down fire and brimstone unto the lives of the people, slaughtering hundreds of civilians. Though it wasn’t their doing, the Jedi were still burned and stained with this destruction; the people often blamed the Jedi - had they not been there, the ships wouldn’t have come and the destruction wouldn’t have been wrought. It was an upward battle and they’d need the time to recovery and perhaps change their views - but that change would not be something that happened due to a few good deeds. It take tens if not hundreds of years before that would ever be forgiven.

Though the destruction was surmountable, the Jedi were not done with the planet. To solve the mysteries associated with the original devastation from a Jedi ship, two Jedi Master had arrived to try and solve that mystery - to unlock the shackles that had plagued the Order’s council. The identity of the traitor was the very thing they needed to know, and those two Jedi Masters - Grand Master Wyck and Master Guleya - uncovered the dark truth, the confirmation of the fears, a step toward their own destruction. They had been betrayed by one of their own Masters. A blow that couldn’t be forgotten, nor forgiven.

Through all of this, Jedha just couldn’t be free from the Jedi Order, no not yet. Jedha needed to serve another purpose, a conclusion 4 Jedis arrived at mere moments ago. Jedha would be home to some relics, it wouldn’t be difficult for the group. Jedha was vast, they wouldn’t even need to attend the city - they could remain on the outskirts, they could wander the desert to truly hide. But they knew, eventually the Sith would come and the Sith would look so they’d have to be smart - witty, resourceful. But with all of this options available to the Jedi, it was a good location for Councillor Master Fennex Zeerda, Knight Ralaa Talus, Knight Marina Giulestei to undergo their first efforts to hide a few of the relics Maser Zeerda held so close to him.

The planet held meaning to all the Jedi, a good place for the future generations to stumble upon a new device, new knowledge, new details of the past.

She’d never seen Jedha in person. Not properly anyhow. To often on the other side of the galaxy. And with recent events it was hardly a place the Order found itself coming back to. Outside of today of course, but today was a little bit different. She wouldn’t be seeing the town. Or the fortress, she didn’t think so anyhow. This was a trip into the wilderness, one where she wore a shawl to keep the harsh, hot winds from her face and the glare from her eyes. But so far it seemed this place was secluded, safe. She kept her fingers crossed it would stay that way.

Pulling up next to the Master, she turned out to the expanse of land before them,

“So what exactly are we looking for?” She asked “cause I’m not seeing many places to hide” Marina finished, slightly deflated. It wasn’t that she wasn’t ready for this, but, well, no. No. She trusted Master Fennex, she had to. But for now her eyes and mind wandered, searching the landscape for a sign. She’d lived in the desert long enough on Sahmina, the heat didn’t get to her here. But Sahmina had mountains, cities. Jedha was so sparse in comparison, that threw her enormously. Perhaps that was why they came here now, so many forgotten spots to stash what they had.

This was it, her final act as a Jedi- it felt surreal, but she knew it had to be done.

Ralaa stared out across the sanded seas and, for once, found that she had little to say. It was unlike her not to argue or to second guess but, in this particular moment, she was sure that she had made the right choice to come to Jedha. Sure, she would have to give up her title and her robes, even her lightsaber, but these were not the things that made her a Jedi- she would
always be a Jedi, of that she was certain. It was a shame that it had taken her so long to realize these things, but each step had led her closer to here and she was thankful for those who stood beside her. Ralaa admired them for their sacrifice, even if Marina's constant questions rubbed her the wrong way.

"I am most certain that Master Zeerda has not come unprepared." Ralaa spoke up as she took her place beside the both of them, hands pressed behind her back as she searched the endless dunes that laid before them. She was unfamiliar with the deserts of Jedha, but held confidence that Fennex wouldn't have brought them here if he hadn't been prepared. Despite their rather rough introduction on Andara, Ralaa admired him for what he had to taught her about herself and about what it meant to be a Jedi, even if she hadn't found the time to thank him.

"If Master Zeerda wishes, I would be happy to bury you all. A depth of approximately one-point-eight-two meters should suffice as an excellent hiding place." KR3CH offered as he plunked a crate into the back of an old beat up four-seater landspeeder he and Fennex had rented for the day from a foul tempered Shistavenen up in the city for a fistful of credits.

"Shut it you overgrown caf-maker." Fennex shot back as he prepared for their journey, making sure a few choice pieces of history were secure in his satchel. The place he had in mind was almost a half days speeder ride from the Holy city and the crumbling ruins of the Jedi Temple that had once crowned it. He basked in the warm sunlight for a moment, letting it light up his whiskers as he rippled his fur. He missed this place. He would miss this place. With some effort the little Jedi Master clambered up the side of the open topped speeder and plopped down into the faded and stained course-weave passenger seat. Fennex peered over the center divider at the control sticks and then fiddled with the partially exposed wires of the navigation and entertainment deck. He sunk back into his seat with huff.

"I'll plug in the coordinates, but one of you gets to drive- I can't reach the pedals..."

You could almost see their destination from here- the low hazy shape of a distant stone mesa, dark against the faint blue sky and light colored sand.

Fennex’s admission brought a little smile to Marinas face as she hopped into the drivers seat of the landspeeder,

“A councillor can’t do everything I suppose” she said teasingly in reply.

It was a machine that had seen better days, only really fair for them to hire out for one big trip. And hopefully with a vehicle so beat up they wouldn’t draw too much attention out in the sands.

No guarantees though.

The seats springs squeaked as she fell into it, tapping her feet against the pedals. The old gal would run though, that was better than nothing. Letting Ralaa hop in, she switched the ignition and started to hover forward as Fennex plugged in the coordinates. A decent drive before them, and a remote location as any, she got the thing moving as the group shot across the sands, artifacts in tow. What specifically they were hauling she hadn’t found it fit to ask, but no doubt if the masters meant it safe, it was something worth the effort. Kriff, if things were as dire as they seemed then even a time capsule would do the trick, something just to let the galaxy know they’d been here. That there was another way.

The glare from the sun bouncing of the dashboard kept her eyes on the ground, glancing back at the navigation monitor for guidance whenever it was needed.

Probably the closest she’d ever had to a road trip, she realised. Not exactly a luxury she’d ever really had. The temptation to throw the entertainment deck on was high, thogih for now she restrained herself. They still had a job to do, as much as the idea of “sun and sand” appealed in her mind. If nothing else though she could enjoy the wind fishing last her face, the warmth like she was back home as the Mesa drew ever closer.
