Asminys felt like a fish out of water as he watched the engineers scramble around the reactor room in their efforts to keep the ancient ship running. He sulked in the corner, filled with the awesome power of the Force as the ants carried out their tasks. He felt completely useless.

Asminys had been trained as weapon and he hated the feeling of sitting idle while the battle raged. Bereft of his purpose Asminys prowled under the catwalks that lined the shadowy perimeter of the large room. A simple blast vest was the only armor he wore and his lightsaber rested lightly in his right hand.

Asminys was free of the chains that had held him before he had ascended to the rank of marauder, but still bound in servitude to those more powerful than him. He had been tasked with guarding the reactor room, apparently important to the function of the battleship that his betters had pulled into service for this battle.

From behind his vent, Talak continued to sweep his eyes over the room, looking for guards or the like. He was thankful to see that the men in the room were primarily engineers and mechanics, with no sign of a proper guard unit. It was simply a shame that Talak couldn't see the Sith lingering under the catwalk just below his own vent.

He glanced back down the maintenance tunnels to see if there was any sign of Hannibal or the marines. His teeth ground together somewhat impatiently but a glance back through the grate sealed the deal for him.

Of the dozen or so engineers, close to half of them left to go to an adjacent room with a power regulator attached to the generator. With fewer enemies to deal with, he could only hope that meant he had a better chance of subduing them all quickly.

Saber hilt still in hand, he eased the grating off of the vent and fell silently to the catwalk below, dropping immediately into a crouch and blending into the shadows. Although he felt a dark presence nearby, he didn't think much of it. After all, he was on a Sith ship in the middle of the battle. The Force was hardly a crystal clear thing here.

He moved quietly along the catwalk, staying low in the hopes of getting a better advantage on the engineers and maneuvering into position on one of the catwalks above them.

Well this wasn't quite going to plan, the Rim Hopper was now in position ready to make its attack run towards the Star destroyer closing in from the capital ship's rear, with the plan to then pull up and run along side the engine exhaust ports and up towards the designated shield generators that Curse had identified. Except if her sensor readout was to be believed, there was no shields any more for them to take out. "Bad news bud, their shields are gone" Eisa called out towards the rear of the ship, before pulling on the control yoke of her ship, swinging it around towards the front of the towering structure that protruded out the wedge like hull.

Figuring that her crew mates were going to be disappointed that they wouldn't be able to take out the Star destroyer's shield generators, Eisa didn't want to leave it so that they were late to the next one of the marked out targets - knowing she would never hear the end of it. Manoeuvring the VCX into a tight turn around the outer form of the command decks, the fiery haired spacer pulled on the throttle opening the ships engines up to full as she steered the Rim hopper along the outer perimeter of the trapezoidal outer hull of the command section of the ship towards the front of side of the protruding structure.

Once she had rounded the ship on the front face of the Star Destroyer, the spacer gave the engines another burst of speed along its parallel run towards the opposing side of the Imperial relic. "Eyes Forwards girls" Eisa called out, anticipating a moment of confused protests from her crew mates, as it would initially appear that the ship would fly past along the Star destroyer with their guns pointed in the wrong direction. But before any could protest, the spacer knocked off the power to the inertia dampeners and gave the yawing manoeuvring thrusters several quick bursts, spinning the ship around so that it was now face to face with the front of the bridge's viewport as the freighter continued to now slide sideways along it's original trajectory.

Ugh, how utterly boring. Who knew how many Jedi are onboard, and they send you here? Ahh well, knowing how annoying they could be...you have to be ready. For anything. So stop whining to yourself and get moving.

The doors open in front of you and you stalk into the reactor room, not bothering to conceal your aura of evil. If there were any Jedi in the vicinity, better to bait them into attacking him than simply allowing them to pick off some foolish engineers one at a time. Not to mention, someone...else was supposed to be in the room; weren't Jedi supposed to be wise?

Your guard is up, lightsaber in hand, muscles tense to react to hopefully anything that could happen. Wait, eyes attracted to a bit of motion by the vent on the far side of the reactor room--it's nothing. Stop worrying. If somebody's there, you'll know soon enough. Just stay calm, just wait...

Moments later, Dol and Talon were standing over four warm bodies in the armory, arms loaded up to the brim. Talon had a box of heavy explosives; probably not the best thing to have on an ancient ship, so why not help them out? Just a safety precaution.

Now all they had to do was find their way back to the entrance that would now become the exit; use whatever fuel was remaining in the jetpack to find a way to the ground (preferably away from the blaster fire and lightsaber blades), get payed, and get the hell out of there. They'd done enough for two men working alone; it was strange how little opposition they'd received. Nevertheless, they'd only crippled the ion cannons on one side of the ship. There was still a lot for those pesky Jedi to do...

Baldr suddenly felt ill intent towards him from all sides, the fine hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. As if in slow motion, the second grenade passed through the tips of his fingers and he received a blow to the back of the head. The young Sith was trained well and instinctively knew better than to let himself stumble by trying to keep his feet. Instead, he allowed the momentum of the blow to push him forward into a single roll. He leapt out of that roll and kept on running, parallel to the line of fighting - staying with his own men. Lights like distant stars were swirling in his vision and his skull was screaming in protest and pain as he kept running. Somewhere close he heard explosions as his grenades went off, but he didn't turn to see. The explosions weren't loud enough, so he assumed something had diverted them before they met his mark. Young Baldr no longer cared, he was more intent on keeping his own head on his shoulders and breath in his lungs than anything else.

"Very well," he replied simply on his approach, lightsaber rising up into a straight guard with the tip pointed forward toward the Zeltron, fingers down and blade parallel to the ground. He settled into his proper stance and footwork as the combatants approached melee range, right foot and side forward, upright with knees slightly bent, left arm settled by his waist- and his belt.

The two Jedi's opening strikes were concurrent, a center thrust and a low cut with the pike toward his legs. Wolfgang angled his guard, turning his wrist, fingers facing left, and dropped his arm slightly to meet the thrust with a parry. He used the lower third of his blade to meet the upper third of hers in order to deflect it off up and to the left, seeking to move her point away while keeping his own directed toward her. He himself took a half step slightly right and back off the midline and away from the Jedi's thrust at the same time, the tip of his lightsaber flashing out as he activated the dual-phase function of his right hand saber when blade contact was made. Wolfgang intended to extend it directly through the Jedi's sternum, the sudden additional meter of length serving as a riposte at the speed of lightsaber ignition.

As he parried and moved his left hand drew his second lightsaber straight out from his belt and ignited it directly into it's dual-phase length of two meters, arm extending out. The blade manifested from waist height between Izel's swing and Wolfgang himself, downwards at a diagonal angle. It cut left in a sharp, whipping parry toward the pike, the length and angle meaning Izel's lower front leg was also a target of the burning arc if the pike didn't stop it. The primary target, however, was the pike itself, where Wolfgang's lightsaber blade would meet the metal shaft a third of the way down from the blade to halt the Vratix's swing. Unless it was one of the rare few lightsabers made of a saber-resistant alloy, the business end would also be sliced off if contact was made as Wolfgang intended. It would at least stop the cut if it was resistant or the Jedi managed to angle the blade mid-swing to prevent it while she dealt with Jerex's attacks.

Hannibal slowed his pace as he approached the reactor room door, clearly detecting a completely unsubtle Dark side presence. That, and the door had just closed as the young Jedi had rounded the corner of a hall. He motioned the marines to stay behind him and reminded them to focus on the engineers and any security rather than Sith.

"Yeah, we have charges. Let's clear it quick," he replied over comms, walking forward toward the door, Sol Puara's lightsaber in his left hand and ignited. "Entering now," he informed Talak. A marine pressed the open key on the door control, the twin durasteel panels sliding open for Hannibal to walk through. On the other side, some distance away- athough not more than ten meters, most likely- was a Sith (@Nobody ). Or at least Hannibal assumed as much, judging from the Dark aura and the lightsaber in the figure's right hand.

The Jedi Master's saber immediately rose from neutral guard to full, bright silver blade pointed directly at the Sith from shoulder height, right foot back and saber arm extended. His free right hand and arm settled across his waist and stomach, hand open and palm slightly facing forward. The marines arrayed themselves in the cover of the doorway behind him, sighting engineers to take down if they had weapons and chose to use them instead of fleeing for their lives.

"Surrender or leave. Please, choose to live," the Jedi Master said to the Sith in an even and amiable tone. His presence in the Force hardened, all determination and focus. He was calm, but it was also clear he'd be willing to cut down the Sith if he refused to either leave the reactor room peacefully or surrender. Those were the only two options Hannibal was giving that didn't involve a fight. He was also of course ready to react to an attack, his eyes and senses open, the Force flowing into and through him.

Somehow he doubted the Sith was going to suddenly regret his choices and surrender, but giving them the chance was the Jedi thing to do.

Kori's own blade was dual-phase, and she had used that to her advantage before. She knew better than to let the tip of the opponent's blade point at her. That's why she moved her left foot back, to face Wolfgang only with her right side, and to avoid the extended blade piercing through her sternum and ending the duel there and then. Alas, even with her turn and all the effort to push Wolfgang's blade away to his right, the move came too little too late. The extended part of the Sith's lightsaber burned through the armor and grazed the Zeltron's skin at around the rib level, evoking a pained hiss from under the helmet and spreading the smell of burnt flesh across the corridor.

Meanwhile, the blades were still locked as they were: Wolfgang's lower third and Kori's upper third. That didn't bode well. Thats' why Kori sidestepped towards the Sith and then moved her left foot to Wolfgang's left again, turning even further to avoid his lightsaber changing angle into the Zeltron's side. At the same time, she pushed her hilt and the blade up and towards the Sith. The goal of this was three-fold. Firstly, by being closer to Wolfgang she'd make it harder for him to change the angle of the locked saber and graze her again. Secondly, she sought to lift up Wolfgang's right hand, to make the lock a little bit more inconvenient for him. And thirdly, if she was lucky, her azure blade would slide up Wolfgang's blade a little, to make the lock more convenient for her.

It's about that time when Nykoria would hear the sound of screeching and torn metal, as another Sith attempted to rip the panels off the walls. Unfortunately, the Zeltron couldn't reliably do anything about it for the moment. Not until she secured her position in a bladelock. If she was at least somewhat successful in her attempts, then she'd reach out with her left hand to try and redirect the panel coming at her into Wolfgang. Of course that meant that Jerex would have to be distracted from controlling it.

@Reyn, @Versok, @Mr. Teatime
Mr. Teatime pointed out that Kori shouldn't be able to change the angle of her blade before the parry. Sorry, I thought that was acceptable as an interrupt.

Asminys' nostrils flared as a ripple in the force reached him. His eyes darted around the room before settling on the catwalk above him. Through the battle chaos within the force the light cut a swathe, his senses like a hound as they sought an unfamiliar scent. Darkness, conflict, death, these were all things he was accustomed to.

The light however, its gleam caught his attention like a shark sensing blood.

His irritation with his guard dog position swiftly disappeared as he leapt into the air, catching the railing with his offhand to pivot around it and land behind the offending wielder of the light, his lightsaber coming to crimson life with a violent snap-hiss.

"Mrias Jidai! Asminys shouted in Sith as he swung his blade at the jedi's back in an upwards diagonal slash intended to cut from the jedi's left hip to his right shoulder. He secretly hoped the Jedi would block his strike, that the bearer of the light would live to fight back and let Asminys test himself against one of the Jedi his teachers had taught him to hate. A swift death to his enemy would bring no satisfaction, even if it was the desired outcome.

The intent to kill was abrupt. Not just the general void of blackness around but a bright red beacon practically announcing the danger to the Jedi as he moved along the catwalk. His head flicked around to find the source and he saw the flash of movement nearby, landing and igniting that saber.

Talak pivoted and the man shouted and attacked. Ancient Sith. That was unusual even for members of the Sith. He had only learned it himself when he learned alchemy. It was a required element of the incantations.

Having turned to face his opponent the attack that was originally going to be at his own left hip was now at his right hip. He swept his own blade to the right, blade facing down toward the catwalk, and caught the strike of his opponent, preventing himself from being bisected.

His left hand extended and sent a blast of the Force into the man's exposed body. With the Sith's blade at his own left side in an attempt to slash from left to right against Talak, both his left hand and right were prevented from easily defending or countering the attack.

Nu Minti Nenx. Mezdi,, he uttered back. The reason for that was simple: throw his opponent off balance. Who would have expected a Jedi to speak ancient Sith? No one in their right mind, that was who. @Mr. Teatime @Arclight @DarkSaber

Ugh. Just as you thought; they had high-tailed it here...How had they made it through a patrolled corridor so quickly? Your mind's flashing rapidly, thoughts screaming their way across your conflicted brain. Still, you never should give your opponents time to talk. As soon as the door opened, the blade ignited; Oh, the joys of leaving your force aura unconcealed. Regardless, it instantly lets you know that the characters were enemies, and the Jedi's eyes are only on you...

As the Marines set up around one door, the scarce security (only four men to be exact) had begun firing; they wouldn't sit and wait for some Jedi to make a stupid offer of surrender aboard their own ship. Perhaps the bolts would clip a few of the marines; maybe the Jedi would stop to block some blaster fire--but you shouldn't give him that chance. Jedi usually didn't come barging into a room saber swinging; there probably would've been some "negotiation"...so why expect a sudden defensive maneuver?

As the silver saber extends fully, you close your eyes and concentrate on your anger, frustration, even fear...No movements would forewarn of the impending strike, no hand motions indicating the need for a disrupting decision. An incredible light bursts through the room, most likely inhibiting the Jedi's fixed eyesight and disorienting the Marines with such a small field of vision. Sure, he could still see through the Force, but he might be impaired long enough to get a shot off; might as well make it easier on security...at least those who hadn't been foolish enough to glance at the source of light. With that sudden and painful distraction, you need to move back; the Jedi undoubtedly had incredible speed and could cover the distance easily...so you open your eyes and speedily move backwards to discern the wellbeing of your enemies, and hope some engineers carried weapons of their own...

The Jedi was fast, his movement a blur as he spun and intercepted Asminys' blow with his pure white saber. A feral grin broke across the Sith's face as his wish came true. Reacting to the growing pressure coming at him from within the force, Asminys stepped back with his right foot, his left palm crossing his hips in a low thrust down and to the side as he brought the force to bear through it. The Jedi's push would meet his own energy and be channeled off to the side, the flow of the force push deflected into the catwalk barrier with the creaking of durasteel as it narrowly missed Asminys.

This was what Asminys had been born for, the passion for the fight bursting in his chest as his right hand rolled his saber away from the sudden block. A twist and flick of the wrist brought his blade down in a fast light chop aimed to graze the saber hand of his Jedi opponent.

"Kodel mezdi, j'us tezn itik stai." Asminys hissed back as he attacked. He was surprised at the Jedi's use of the Sith language, but not overly concerned. The Jedi was here. Their blades had clashed. Thats all that truly mattered to Asminys, everything else was just a detail. A detail that he might be able to use to his advantage.

Talak didn't miss a beat, and it had been some time since he'd crossed blades with a proper adversary. It was a thrill. It always had been, and he went with it.

As his opponent stepped back, Talak stepped forward. As their blades disconnected, Talak's right arm came up higher and never gave the man the height advantage he would need for a downward chop at Talak's arm. Their blades clashed once more, sending white and red sparks showering below. He kept in mind an attempt from the man to make a redirect for a lower attack, but even doing so would have been difficult, particularly before Talak's own attack.

The former Sith Lord used his positioning to his advantage. Rather that going for another bodily knock back, he let the Force flow from his left hand in a concentrated attack against the other man's extended right shoulder, looking to dislocate it with the strength of the attack. Given the point of the target, he didn't anticipate the man being able to deflect it again nor should he have time to beat out with his own ability.

With luck, he would further be flung over the side of the catwalk for a nasty tumble. But nothing ever seemed to go as planned. @Arclight

The Jedi's white blade rose to block Asmynis' crimson saber, his foe stepping in closer as he blocked. Once more the force rang warning as the Jedi's left hand rose once more towards him. Asminys knew he would have little time to raise another defence in the force, so he pushed the attack.

Stepping left and forwards with his left foot to the outside of the Jedi's guard as Asmynis left hand met his right on the grip of his saber. With two hands on his saber hilt and a surge of strength powered by the force he sought to overwhelm the Jedi's one-handed guard as he pivoted into the strike, pulling his right shoulder out of direct alignment with the Jedi's force push as well.

Sparks would fly as crimson and white saber screeched in agony, and if all went as planned the tip of his saber would dig deep into the Jedi's unprotected armpit as Asminys blade pushed inward and up to force its way around and through the Jedi's guard.

The force push buffeted past Asminy's shoulder, hitting with only a portion of its intended power, not enough dislocate his shoulder or send him flying off the catwalk, but jarring enough to make him stumble back slightly, his back foot scrambling to once more find its footing near the edge of the catwalk.

Talak was impressed that the man had managed to recover his positioning adeptly, but his strike connecting would require Talak allowing his own position to become compromised.

Utilizing a Form X technique known as "the Shae pivot" Talak pivoted along with his opponent so that they traded position and backed off. In order for his opponent's blade to connect, he had to make it all the way around Talak's saber, which he wouldn't allow. Instead his entire body stayed behind the safety of his own saber. As the Sith's saber reached the position that Talak had been a moment ago, it would hit nothing but air.

As for the force behind the man's blow, that was handled in multiple ways. The first was that much of the power behind it was actually negated by Talak's own push, particularly the Force empowered element. While the man had managed to evade a portion of Talak's attack, there was enough to make him stumble back and lose much of the intended power. The second means of dealing with it was that Talak was still pressing back with his own arm. While there was no doubt that he would lose that push eventually, he could slow the advance considerably and while he did, he backed off his opponent. With one of them stumbling back and the other backing away it was only moments before they were completely disengaged.

Come on, you're not going to let a Jedi romp about your ship, are you? he asked, and as he did he dropped from the catwalk and down to the floor below. He offered no explanation as to why, but he assumed the man would decide to follow. If he didn't, that would certainly make Talak's sabotage easier. @Arclight

Izel was surprised to see Wolfgang produce his second lightsaber, but as it happened Jerex's attack could be used to her own advantage. Instead of resisting the Force push the Vratix allowed herself to slide backwards while extinguishing her blade, avoiding both accidentally severing her own pike as well as wounding her ally. As she continued sliding backwards she ignited her saber again, plunging the green blade into the floor to draw herself to a halt.

Her Force sense alerted her to the incoming panel ripped from the wall, and she quickly dropped down low to avoid it. She then stood up to her full height again and extended both her hands. Targeting Jerex, she used Force Pull to try and throw him into Wolfgang. Moving another trained in the Force would be no small task, especially one that was clearly so experienced. But she hoped with enough effort and focus paired with the fact he was already focusing his own power on the panels, he would be unable to resist. At the very least his effort to resist her attack should draw his focus away from the panel he was directing towards Kori.

"What are you doing back there?" She addressed Jerex through a slightly strained voice as she used a considerable amount of her strength to try and force him forward. "I thought you wanted to play!"

Hearing Curse’s warning, Minerva aligned her gun toward the pair of TIE coming in from below. Just as they came in range, the Mandalorian opened up with a new barrage. The first burst caught the TIE on the left side while its partner evaded the second round but was struck and ignited by the third burst.

What ya know I owe the little pest. She concluded, satisfied with the kills. “Not bad, not bad at all droid.” That was as much as Minerva would offer at the moment in returning the favor. There still is no way the warrior will ever let the little machine mess with her armor.

Subsequently the shield generator exploded away from them. The blast reflected in the t-visor of Minerva’s helmet causing her to look away while Eisa officially announced what happened. “There goes the first target.” She remarked out loud though not entirely surprised given its importance.

The Rim Hopper suddenly increased thrusters, taking Minerva off guard and banging her helmet on the turret controls. Swearing in Mand’oa she then couldn’t help but mutter sarcastically in Basic

“Flying with you red is like being in a never ending holo coaster.”

Further words stopped when Eisa told Curse and her eyes forward. At that command Minerva turned to look at the command deck coming into view. Then the ship, nearly causing the merc to vomit in her helmet. I shouldn't have eaten that portion bread earlier. In spite of that, she compiled with Eisa’s command by aiming at the viewpoint and fired a volley.

Curse let out an annoyed buzz as Eisa relayed the information that the shield generator had already been destroyed. Damn these slow freighters! //Well what are you waiting for?// She called back to her master impatiently. //Let's get over there before all the fun is over!// She then proceeded to squeak again in surprise as Eisa made a tight turn, nearly tumbling out of her seat.

The Pistoeka chittered angrily as she clutched tightly to the arm of her chair and pulled herself back into position, then struggled to get her gun facing its target. Eisa's quick maneuvering left her confused for a moment, but soon enough she had a clear shot at the capital ship's now vulnerable bridge.

"Ave at em" she heard her master say. Music to her audio sensors. Once more the crazed little buzz droid broke into an uncontrolled mechanical laughter as she opened fire on the bridge, specifically targeting the transparisteel of the ship's viewport. The biggest structural weakness in her sights. Destroying it would eject those inside into space, and leave the ship without navigation or it's commanding officers. A fatal blow.

Asminys' deadly dance with the Jedi was turning out to be more fun than he could have hoped. The Jedi's footwork mirrored his own as he deftly avoided being skewered on Asminys' crimson blade, the two circling each other with sparks sizzling to the catwalk floor between them.

And then the pressure against his blade was gone, the two combatants separated with a pause in tempo as Asminys was forced to back off. A quick slash at his taunting opponent met air as he dropped from the catwalk. Scowling down at the Jedi as his blade carved through the catwalk's guardrail, Asminys eyed the glowing metal.

"Not my ship!" He laughed as he pointedly cut the guardrail again about a foot down from the first cut. His left hand swept forwards to point with his first two fingers at the Jed and with a small amount of focus he sent the glowing metal chunk speeding down at the Jedi's chest like an arrow. Up, down, up, three more swipes of the blade. Hand chopping up and down to point at the Jedi three times, he raised and sent a trio of the glowing metal rods hurtling down at the Jedi in quick succession.
