The Beast of Yavin 4
Yavin IV. The heart of the Jedi Order. Its expansive jungle knows no bounds, with its untamed wilderness spanning as far as the eye could see. Truly, there is no end to its unbridled beauty. But the nights are long and full of teeth. All is not well…
There have been recent sightings of a mysterious creature and with each passing day, it has encroached closer and closer to the temple grounds. The beast reportedly lurks just on the borders of the forest’s edge; sentries have yet to confirm its exact species. At first, there was little concern. After all, it did little else other than observe the temple’s comings and goings. An initial investigation was launched but quickly the creature made itself scarce; masters within the temple were unwilling to proceed further, seeing no harm in its presence just yet.
But the sightings grew more frequent. Feeling unchallenged, it seems the beast decided to make itself known. Now, horrific howls ring in the night, and distinctive claw marks have been found within the confines of the Temple’s boundaries.
The beast had become bold...
And then, the unthinkable happened. A youngling has been taken, with eyewitnesses confirming a dark, shadowy creature to be the culprit.
The Order calls on its Jedi to aid in the search and rescue of one of their own. The objectives are as follows:
Priority 1: Rescue and recover the missing youngling. Return them to the temple, and treat any/all injuries.
Priority 2: Identify the beast and subdue it, ensuring it can no longer pose a threat to the temple and its inhabitants.

This thread will be open to a handful of Jedi Padawans (and supervising Jedi Knights/masters). Depending on the numbers signed up, the choices made by the Jedi search teams will impact the outcome of the thread. The opposition/antagonizing forces will be DM by the storyteller. This is a search and rescue style thread, with some minor detective work included as well.
