The Cadre Project

History

The Cadre Project was a Sith experiment. While it ultimately failed, it was created to see if it was possible to raise unquestionably loyal Dark Side assassins. In short, Dark Side slaves. The first batch were to be slaves to the masters of the project, referred to as "Cadre-Masters". The experiment was funded by the Cadre Cooperation, owned by a Sith who's identity remains unknown to the galaxy at large, including to the subjects themselves.

Unbeknownst to those that served as experiments, the Cadre Cooperation funded several other similar projects. In order to mark and track the companies property, each subject was branded by the company's emblem.

The Cadre experiment consisted of an equal amount of female and male Force sensitive subjects. All subjects started in the range of four through seven. They were taken young so they could be more easily programmed. They were stripped of their names and freedom then broken and beaten into submission. Though later in the project, some were able to earn new names, gifted to them by their masters.

The subjects were trained as assassins, but because "breaking ones chains" was one of the key teachings of the Sith, they weren't allowed to learn the Sith code. They were taught that they weren't Sith, simply Dark Side wielders and weapons for their masters. In short, they were referred to as "Cadre" and nothing more.

As the project progressed, subjects strengths and weaknesses were identified and their training was tailored to their profiles. Some subjects were trained to be blunt objects, others were trained more for infiltration and undercover assassinations.

When only a small amount of subjects remained, the Cadre-Masters put on a competition to see which male and female subject came out on top of the rest. The first batch were pilot subjects and it only mattered that two survived. It was during this competition that the subjects revolted against both their programming and their masters, unwilling to kill one another for the pleasure of their masters who they saw as weak and lazy. All Cadre-Masters were slaughtered that day. Though some Cadre consider the Sith who funded the project as the last Cadre-Master and seek to destroy him or her.

The Cadre subjects now roam the galaxy freely. They serve from within the Sith, and have taken on ranks and even Sith titles.

Cadre Masters

The Cadre masters used multiple tactics to break their subjects minds in an attempt to instill subservience and loyalty. They tortured their subjects physically and mentally, locking them up in inhuman conditions between use to further break them down.

The Masters skills did not end with torture and indoctrination, they were also highly skilled agents of the Order and provided unique training to each subject, measuring their progression and skill up until the project failed.

Cadre Subjects

The surviving Cadre-subjects, who simply refer to themselves as "Cadre", now roam the galaxy freely. They have formed a brotherhood, and consider one another Cadre-Brothers or Cadre-Sisters. They see each other as superior to their Cadre-masters, and do not look kindly on any authority figure.
