Here is where I store my tech ideas because I'm utterly neurotic and can't stand having to scroll through tech and characters in one workshop.

Hutt Security Droid

Affiliation:
Hutt Clans

Manufacturer:
Hutt Clans

Class:
Security Droid

Locomotion:
Legged, bipedal
Power Supply:
Rechargeable power cell, 72-hour duration.

Sensors:

Size:
Height: 1.8 meters

Composition:
Armored Durasteel

Tools and Equipment:

DESCRIPTION
Hutt Security Droids were a form of battle droid utilized by high ranking members of the Hutt Clans as security forces before the Galactic Civil War. While many of these droids are hundreds of years old, their quality and durability has allowed them to stay functional for ages even without regular maintenance. Many ancient Hutt worlds are patrolled by these droids, and some clans still maintain security droid forces as a mark of pride. Still, these droids were largely phased out around the time of the Galactic Civil War, as their loyalty and lack of biological needs were offset by their production cost, middling competence, and the fact that many Hutts found torturing and abusing droids less fun than organics.

While their tactical subroutines are frankly sub par, these droids are quite competent with a variety of ranged and melee weapons, as well as unarmed combat. This is complemented by a suite of advanced sensors and an armored durasteel chassis designed to provide ample detection and protection capabilities to these droids. As an additional feature, these droids were often equipped with less-than-moral personality matrixes that not only justify the criminal actions these droids were frequently surrounded by, but encouraged a sense of ruthlessness and sadism toward non-Hutt beings.

LEGALITY
Illegal. While these are security droids, their origins and associations mean that these droids are considered illegal battle droids outside of Hutt Space.

INTENT
I have some ideas for Mataou in the future and I want to create writeups for Hutt security droids. Rather than reinvent the wheel I decided to essentially reskin and re-lore this droid model.

RESTRICTIONS
N/A

Hutt "Serpent" Sentry Droid

Affiliation:
Hutt Clans

Manufacturer:
Hutt Clans

Class:
Security Droid

Locomotion:
Rectilinear Locomotion
Power Supply:
Rechargeable power cell, 72-hour duration.

Sensors:

Size:
Length 4.2 meters

Composition:
Armored Durasteel

Tools and Equipment:

DESCRIPTION
The crowning achievement of Hutt droid technology, the Serpent Droid was designed for the sole purpose of killing living organisms with ruthless efficiency. The Serpent Droid was developed on the Hutt jewel world of Mataou, based on the physiology and movements of the local ro hypa serpent, a vicious and toxic apex predator. Serpent Droids were created to mimic both the appearance and lethality of the ro hypa, and the cutting-edge craftsmanship used to create the Serpent Droid means that many models still prowl the ruins of Mataou today, over a hundreds of years after their creation. Unfortunately, it was the cost of this craftsmanship, among other factors, that led to the Hutts abandoning the Serpent Droid in favor of other combat models such as IG and HK units.

For its part, the Serpent Droid is made from reinforced durasteel armor plates with a serpentine locomotion system capable of reaching over 20 kph and crossing harsh vertical and horizonal terrain. The head of the unit is equipped with a wide range of sensors that, combined with extensive close and mid range combat programming, make Serpent Droids lethal combatants. These abilities are complimented by the two integrated weapons on the droid's arms, the right being a 1m long vibroblade and the left being a twin-barreled heavy blaster with automatic loading systems and no stun setting.

While standard Hutt security droids can be ruthless, Serpent Droids were extensively programmed to be as remorseless and brutal as possible. They were designed to quickly close distances on targets in the narrow confines of Hutt fortresses before blasting and hacking intruders to pieces. To this end they were given more advanced logical and tactical processors, making them more intelligent and independent than other combat droids. Unfortunately, combined with the cost of making Serpent Droids their sophistication meant Hutts often felt safer with organic guards than these killing machines, so the design was never adopted outside of Mataou, and few working models were ever built.

LEGALITY
Illegal. Even if this was not a Hutt constructed battle droid, the Serpent Droid is designed purely for combat with heavy integrated weaponry and no restrictions on killing organic life.

INTENT
I have some ideas for Mataou in the future and I want to create writeups for Hutt security droids.

RESTRICTIONS
Serpent Security Droids are an exceptionally rare and expensive piece of equipment, with individual ownership being next to impossible in the current day, especially owning more than one model. The appearance of groups of Serpent Droids in a thread can only occur as part of an approved plot.

Assassin's Rifle

AFFILIATION
Open Market

MANUFACTURER
Czerka Arms

Case: height-13 in, length-16 in, width-5 in
Rifle: length-1.5 m

WEIGHT
Case: 7.5 kg
Rifle: 5.5

COMPOSITION
Duraplast, plastoids, scatterweave
WEAPON TYPE
Blaster

DAMAGE TYPE
Medium

AMMUNITION CAPACITY
5 shots per power pack

FIRE SELECTOR
Semi Automatic

MAX RANGE
500 meters

DESCRIPTION
Officially pitched by Czerka Arms as a way to help security forces keep weapons at the ready without drawing public attention, the less than legal uses of the Portable Elimination Rifle or PER-11, became clear the second it hit the market, earning it the unimaginative nickname 'The Assassin's Rifle'. The rifle component of the PER is a fairly standard sniper blaster, albeit with an extremely lightweight, plastoid and duraplast based construction. The real unique feature of the PER-11 is the case itself, which is designed to block out all but the most powerful scanners and weapon detectors, including metal detectors, thermal imaging, and x-ray scans. The lightweight construction of both the rifle and the case also means it isn't unwieldy to handle and won't weigh the user down.

Unfortunately, once the case is open there is nothing to hide the rifle inside, and the the rifle itself comes with a few weaknesses that make it almost useless outside of sniping targets at long range. It comes with a built-in five shot power pack that can only be reloaded by disassembling the rifle, so reloading in the middle of a fight is out of the question. In addition the weapon can only be fired when all the components are in place, a process that would take even a skilled person several seconds, and the duraplast construction of the weapon can crack or even break if it takes a hard enough blow. Thankfully the case is padded to protect the parts from damage while in transit.

Despite its limitations, the Assassin's Rifle has proven to be a reliable and effective tool for spies, saboteurs, and of course, assassins.

LEGALITY
Illegal. While the rifle itself is a standard sniper blaster, the carrying case is designed to get past security scans, making it highly illegal to carry in any civilized system.

INTENT
I wanted to take a piece of canon technology and use it to make a concealed weapon for assassins, spies, and other sneaky characters to use.

RESTRICTIONS
Due to the special construction of the case, the assassin's rifle cannot accept any mods that change the frame of the weapon, like new scopes or barrel attachments.
