Alright so, lets take a look.

Were gonna need to, change the name, downsize it a bit, work out some rank details.

Nothin to big.

Yes. @ Morse
Four LARGE freighters, which barerly get action and are for space battles. The transports are four LARGE Frigates. Sorry for the confusion. The Freighters were named, but I just descriped the Frigates as "Four Large Frigates" or something similar.

@ Ols
This army has nothing to do with the republic besides the name. I will fix things up, of course as you are the leader of the republic. The EX-Jedi Nar, is the General and leader of this group because HE founded it/started it.

I'll fix things up.

I'm pretty sure Ols would agree with me if I say that, IC, no one would care. They'd only care that your group appears to affiliate itself with the Republic.

I know and thats why I still changed it.

As for the commando, there is no commander in our army. Hence commando was below captain. I don't consider a commando an officer, I see them as just elite/special soldiers.

And I did not make this clear. Nar is not affiliated with the republic. He is a Ex-Jedi. He is the general and leader only because he STARTED the group. Sorry about the confusion.

Also they were a MERC army. They are no longer one at all. Now they fight and help those who need them.

This looks interesting. You might get Veral on as an ally for this.

I'm good with it. I'm startin to understand some of it better. Large Frigates i guess could have a broader definition then what i was thinkin. I was thinkin a frigate only holds 200-1000 crew, but i guess if there described as large frigates that would put it bigger.

And that makes more sense for the republic part, because i was under the impression that we were a more indepedant detachment of the republic military.

But ya, i think that this'll work pretty good, i'm just waiting for it to start

Frigates are amazingly expensive. I'd like to know how you'd make the turnover to pay 10,000 men and buy and maintain these frigates, especially as you're just starting out.

Okay, well now it has a different name so that's okay with me. However, there still were no Jedi in the Republic army, so if that was an issue I'm just clarifying that.

My point was that in armed forces around the world, and in star wars a "commando" is a special forces soldier. A "commander" is a soldier of any description with a rank (in SW) that is higher than captain and below general. The rank of "commander" in real life armies does not exist, and is only a naval rank.

Also they were a MERC army. They are no longer one at all. Now they fight and help those who need them.

How long have they been around? Who did they fight for? How did they accumalate so much wealth to fund their expansion? How do they turn a profit now?

NB: Coruscant is a no-go for vigilantes and militias.

Lets just move on. If fixed the Commando stuff good enough.
What planet should I move too then?
They are also made of Volunteer's, Militia's. They get paid, by the use of our technology and the honor they receive. They will also get paid by those who will be able to hire us. They fight for usually the righteous side. There is no huge profit, but its enough to pay for the men. They have been this group for a couple of years now.

Up to you, somewhere low key though, they wouldn't be allowed somewhere nearby lots of civillians or key Republic places.

10,000 people volunteer to risk their lives for honour and technology use?
Imo it's a little hypocritical to fight for the "righteous" side and thendemand to be paid.
How can they afford the billions of credits it takes to buy and maintain capital ships, let alone pay the thousands of people it takes to maintain and operate them and their 10,000 soldiers? (if you take an average soldier's wage as 25,000 credits per annum, that's already 250,000,000 just on that. When you start counting supplies, food, equipment, technology, medical equipment and staff, engineers and other workers it becomes greatly expensive. Add on to that the intial cost of the ships and you've got yourself something that won't even get off the ground).
A couple of years wouldn't even get them nearly breaking even. They'd be spending money they don't have and sinking into debt. And did they have one amazing recruitment drive to get 10,000 joined up at once? I doubt it, you wouldn't be able to cope. Growth takes time, a long time, especially on that scale.

Sorrrrry. I saw other people with 10,000 troops and less info then mine and they were accepted. I didn't Imagine I'd have to do a full out financial plan to create an RP Faction.

5000 troops then. How we started thus far is recruiting. Our pay is coming from UNDISCLOSED groups donating and giving us money. Along with that and the money we get paid for our "jobs" we have enough to pay a decent wage to soldiers.

Links please. If you send me the factions in question I'll have a look and see if I have anything to moan about. And you don't have to do a full financial plan, you just have to have feesibility. By your idea of funding I could suddenly invent a load of NPCs and capital ships for my independent faction, but I don't.

And it's not just the numbers of troops, it's finding something that works. I mean I started my independent faction from scratch, literally as just me as the only member, and as it began I had a couple of NPCs. Then I went out recruiting, and now in terms of PC numbers we're second only to the Jedi order. Yeah it took time and no we don't have 15 or so members in the RP, but how many PCs you get can help you gauge how popular the faction would be, and give you an idea of how much it's growing.

And you can't just say "there's loads of anonymous people giving us money" it's quite cheap.

Never mind just close this thread. Maybe later I'll have it reopened and the faction will be worked out.

Allot of people have factions that say "Anonymous donors" and crap like that. I'm not looking through em all but I know yesterday on the first page there were some. They had over like 25K NPC's too.

I think if I bring this back, for every Player Controlled member, I shall enlist 500 soldiers.
Also I will put it on a Junk planet. We can salvage and shine up parts to use for us, and too sell. That way we will be making an income.

I won't lock it. I don't want you to give up, I just want you to think of the logistical side of what you want to do.

And if it annoys you that they have this, flag it up and tell an admin, we're here to do things fairly, not victimist people, but trust me, just saying they get their money from "anonymous donors" is not allowed. If they started with 25,000 NPCs too, you should tell us, as unless thye have a bloody good reason it'll probably be thrown out.

And you don't have to set it at 500 NPCs per PC, just think realistically (in a Star Wars sense). If nobody joins up, or only a couple of people do then increase it steadily. Go out and recruit, go on missions to get money and capital ships, and good will and fame. More people will join and expansion will come from that. Just don't assume you've already expanded, part of the fun is building it up yourself, you never know you might be pleasantly surprised with the end product.

I rather just join the Republic or an already made faction. Please lock this, and maybe another time I can get it up and out of the dirt later on when I have the influence and credits :CHappy:

Ill send you the links in PM to any that I talk of.

Neither in-RP influence or credits will make a huge difference with an independent imo, but if you insist...
