So I've seen this spoiler fly around a lot lately, and I just want someone to confirm (even if it does happen) that

Han doesn't die and Kylo isn't his son

I love did but my only problem besides minor thing that can be looked over is that, I feel they pushed the romance to soon, in my opinion it should have been held back until the next movie to truly show up. But other than that it was awesome, then little plot twist with our favorite scoundrel I honestly was conflicted between what the new bad guy would do. I really wanted him to chose the light side, but I knew how this was going to go down. Yet I still had the optimistic view but it was a good move by JJs part, now some of the new moves is what really surprised me, I think they should have just let the new bad guy just absorb the blast but it was kind of cool with what they did with it.

Being vague because if anyone saw this and didn't see it I don't want to spoil it too much.

Overall I loved it and can't wait for the next one, just a finally FYI I wanted the princess to also be a Jedi but I knew it was too much to ask considering that she most likely didn't have the time for it. If anyone wants me to be more specific I will but right now in tired.

Kylo Ren is Han and Leia's son and he is the one that murders Han.

Pretty much this. It is possible that Kylo has received very little training in a lightsaber. Even if he was trained, the is a good chance that was his first duel with an actual opponent. His lightsaber was much more a symbol of his status than it was a legitimate weapon. Also, I think the point of the movie is to show that he is not a stable person at all. He has little control over any of his skills.

He had also been shot before that fight. That in of it self is going to affect how one fights.

The scene reminded me of actual combat and not a pre-planned dance like the prequel movies showed (Though I like those as well)
I think this is also reinforced by Kylo's lightsaber itself. It's a rough clamoured together hunk of junk, it's got exposed wires and it needs two vents to release the excess energy and the blade just looks jagged. It just shows how rough around the edges Kylo is, and possibly how little instruction he's gained in the way of lightsaber training.

Finn and Rey, I could clearly see hints on them both liking each other, heck the joke with "do you have a boyfriend" I saw them really trying to make it work (the directors) though this is just my opinion and what I thought I saw. I at least think these two are going to have a relationship. And I am already calling it, now who wants to wager what happens.

Just another hope is that Finn is actually force sensitive that would be super cool and awesome.

That wasn't romance. That was a strong platonic friendship between a man and a woman. I was really happy about that, because movies, especially sci-fi and action movies, rarely just let a man and woman be friends without any romance involved.

That's is why I say it's probably just me, it would be great either way honestly. But I'm putting my money on the two getting together.

So I guess I'll give my review of the movie because, why not? So overall, I did enjoy this movie quite a bit. I had pretty low expectations and I'd say that it pretty easily surpassed those. I do have to say I was almost laughing at the "freeze the blaster in midair" thing as I thought about how people will abuse that on here in PvP lol. GL admins ;)

I really had two major issues with the movie:
First it bothered me that there seemed to be inconsistencies in Kylo's power/ability/training. At the beginning of the movie he's this blaster bolt freezing, kick-butt, intimidating villain, that I really liked, but by the end of the movie he seems weak (bordering on incompetent imo) and gets beat in a saber fight by two completely untrained people (one of whom wasn't even FS). This is supposedly the person that helped bring down the second Jedi order that Luke was putting together and then he gets roflstomped by a couple of untrained individuals? To me that seemed inconsistent, disappointing, and a little bit difficult to believe. Even taking into account that he was wounded....

My second issue was that I felt like it wasn't a very original story. Even discussing it with some of my friends, we all felt that it was just something of a copy of Episode IV: ANH. The movie starts off with extremely important information being hidden in a droid that everyone is looking for. Then the droid comes to a FS waif on a desert planet who joins up with the other main characters to find their way to the rebellion/resistance. We find out the masked villain is related to a main character. They go to a cantina and have to fight their way out. There is a planet-destroying superweapon. Someone gets captured and the main characters have to break onto the planet-destroying superweapon to rescue them. A bunch of X-wings attack a single structural weakness on the planet-sized weapon that causes the destruction of the entire planet/moon-sized weapon.

That said, I really liked the new characters. I wasn't expecting to like them very much, but I really enjoyed the new additions, especially Rey and BB. Also, while I'm on the topic of cast, is there anyone else that thinks the Jon Snow actor would have made a good Kylo Ren?

Overall rating imo: 7/10 (8/10 if I were feeling generous)

Kylo was injured by Chewbacca's powerful bowcaster. He went into that lightsaber duel with a handicap.

Ok, just got back, and WOW. Possibly my favorite of all 7 so far, to be honest. Loved Poe DaMan, loved Rey, about cried at the end scene, and swooned throughout to Williams' sweet, sweet tunes. Man, I want to see it again!

I loved it! My single complaint is the fact that they didn't use more aliens that we are familiar with, such as Twi'leks or Rodians, but that's just a small gripe.

I loved the similarities between Episode IV and VII. This feels so much more Star Wars-y than the prequels ever did, since rather thanfamiliar characters or planets being shoved down our throats left and right, it simply shared common themes, ideas, and while the plot was repeated I think it worked beautifully. Abrams was playing it safe this movie, like many others have already suggested, and I have no doubt in my mind that Episode VIII will just continue the already brewing momentum.

Ben Solo is probably one of the most interesting and intriguing villains of the entire saga.

Saw it last night and Wow...Just wow...All I can say that regardless of some flaws and such is the following. Warning: due to the graphic language I am going to place it in a spoiler. It contains strong language and not suitable for younger readers. View Discretion is advised.

JJ Abrams and Disney gave Star Wars its balls back. I mean seriously, Georgie boy castrated the poor franchise with the prequels and their lightshows. I mean stuff like The CG Clone Wars and Rebels managed to salvage Star Wars but Episode Seven is ultimately managed to give the Franchise its balls back big time! NUFF...SAID!

Now about the lightsaber duel, with Episode 7 all I can say to Georgie boy is this: TAKE YOUR LIGHTSHOW AND GO HOME BUDDY! YOU'VE MET YOUR MATCH!. though granted when it came to certain elements it had some deals. HOWEVER, in my honest opinion, compared to the lightshow of the Prequels, it felt more visceral, raw, and more importantly like an actual sword fight. It felt like two pissed off people were trying to actually kill each other, not show off their ballerina skills. But the cherry on the cake is that the duelists actually got WOUNDED! as in they had no clue how to properly use their weapons and they did get cuts and burns on their bodies. I genuinely found it satisfying and the emotions that the characters portrayed as they fought felt real, something I again satisfyingly enjoyed.

With regards to the lightsaber battles. If I remember correctly in the orginal movies when Georgey Boy described lightsabers he said that they were heavy and could be clumsy. Hence why they were mainly used with two hands. Just like Georgey though he did poop all over this with the prequels and I loved those fights but I agree the rawness of the fight and the fact people got injured just added a whole other layer to the combat we haven't seen before.

The main complaints of this movie were "ITS TOO MUCH LIKE STAR WARS!" or "THE MAIN VILLAINS HAVE FLAWS!"

In my opinion this was the best star wars movie to come out in years.
