I'm back, and plan on being much more active this time around, so here's a workshop of WIP characters, tech, and Lore. Let's see how it goes!

DESCRIPTION:
Karada Seigyo is a form of martial arts developed by the Matukai organization. This form is based off of knowledge of your opponent's biology, and placing quick, but powerful punches to the specific nerve spots to incapacitate your enemy. When the Matukai developed this technique, they were looking for a way to prevent their Force Sensitive foes from using the Force against them. But the first incarnation was unsuccessful in that manor, as it only froze the limbs for a moment, but most Force users are able to use the Force without physical movements.

Then came the thought to add small bursts of the Force into these jabs and punches, using the bursts to disrupt the flow of the Force in one's body. Successful hits will temporarily disrupt the flow of the Force in a user's body. Usually it takes 5-6 seconds to wear off, making it a good ability to use before a barrage of damaging attacks, but not a good idea when you do not have allies to play off of your attack. This technique has also been used to stop a foe while they are using the Force to attack, if they are in range when the attack starts, a person with the ability can attempt to stop that attack, although those instances are slim to none.

INTENT:
To provide more lore for the Matukai, and expand on the martial arts in the SW universe. I believe that it would be a fun concept to RP with, and to even the odds for those who choose to fight without a weapon.​

DESCRIPTION
This Wan-Shen was made by Mara, specifically for her use only. The weapon was imbued with the Force when she assembled it, allowing for it to be lightsaber resistant for short periods of time. Prolonged exposure to a Lightsaber's blade will damage the staff section of the weapon. The staff is collapsible, and the blades are removable, allowing for easy transportation and discretion while walking through civilian-populated areas.

LEGALITY
The only places where this would be illegal is probably those that do not allow open-carry weapons.

INTENT
I made this to give my character's weapon a personal spin, like a Jedi or Sith would make for their personal Lightsaber.

BIOGRAPHY
Mara's life started out fairly simply, she was born to a middle-class couple that already had two children, on the planet of Wrea, her father was a mechanic for the civilian vehicles and her mother was a seamstress for the upper-class and Fatemarked. Mara lived happily for the first decade of her life, going through school, and learning skills from both of her parent's occupations. Her older sister, Nidori, was more focussed on becoming a soldier in the Tehysian Republic, protecting Wrea an it's cities from hostile forces such as the Syndicates. Her older brother, Malcor, was being trained by their mother to become a tailor, clothing the leaders of the planet. Mara was quite different, at the age of 10 galactic standard years, Mara was discovered to be a Fatemarked, and her life was turned upside-down.

Mara, thankfully, was not taken from her family, but she was taken out of her normal school and began training under the Fatemarked that resided in her home city. It was there that she began to learn how to control her gift of the Force. Mara excelled at the physical applications of the force, she was able to master Telekinesis, limited Tutaminis, Speed enhancement, Aerokinesis, and Cryokinesis in the first five years of her training. When it came to the more... mental and spiritual side of being a Fatemarked, Mara was not as adept, but she was able to learn Telepathy, and how to sense incoming imminent threats. As her training continued, the Fatemarked in charge of Mara's training noticed her lack of patience, her brash nature, and her complete disregard for Authority.

Her Fatemarked master deemed her unfit for any position of leadership, resulting in Mara having to keep training until she proved that she could become a fully-fledged Fatemarked. And over the next three years, she made a lot of progress, her Telepathy and Force Sense improved, as did her physical abilities. Her attitude also changed, but she realized that she did not want to become a full Fatemarked. During her seventh year of training, a stranger visited her city, he claimed to be a member of an organization called the Matukai. He explained the Matukai to be similar to the Jedi, but different in their fighting techniques, and their philosophy on the Force. Mara was intrigued by this man and the prospect of becoming a Matukai. She had med Jedi before, and thought that they were too focused on the combat applications of the Force. But the Matukai's philosophy of being nomadic and helping any of those who they come across spoke to the young Fatemarked.

It wasn't until a year later that the same Matukai returned and offered to take any Fatemarked with him, and Mara was the first to take the offer. Her Fatemarked master believed that it was the right choice and gave Mara a parting gift of her Fatemarked tattoos. Instead of the traditional facial gold, Mara's tattoo was a bright jade green design of an all-seeing eye with the fillory stretching up her neck and around her shoulders. With a final goodbye to her family, Mara set off with her new Matukai master to further her skills in the Force, and to live life like she had always wanted.

Mara celebrated her nineteenth birthday in the living quarters of her master's ship. The first year of training had been the most productive that she has had in all of her life. The first technique that her master taught her was how to heal people with the Force. This ability was most often used when they visited worlds where the inhabitants were sick, or had just experienced an attack from unknown forces. The next technique she was taught was how to expand her mind and see the universe around her through the Force.

But, her biggest challenge in the first few years was learning how to fight in the air. She had spent her entire life living in water and fighting against the natural resistance of her home world, that fighting in the air made her much clumsier. She also noticed that while she was a strong fighter on her home planet, she didn't realize just how strong she was without the resistance of water. Not to mention that she was used to breathing through her gills, which resulted in having to retrain her mind to breath through her nose, and to keep her gills shut, or else they would dry out and get infected.

Mara's 27th birthday marked the day she graduated from the rank of Apprentice, to Adept. Her master took the Wan-shen she had been using for years, and gave Mara the tools and parts to make her own, symbolizing her graduation. Mara had learned many things over the years, her disregard for authority was still there, but much less blatant than it had been before her Matukai days. Her master had trained her how to fight without weapons, passing down many of the Matukai techniques to her in hopes that she would use them to help people.

As Mara became aware of the Sith's return as the Eternal, she began to see the destruction caused by the Sith and decided to do something about it. She did not like getting to the battle too late, so she started to show up to attacks or battle as soon as she could, and help drive back the Sith.
Personality
Mara has gone through many different personalities in her life. When she began training as a Fatemarked in her youth, she was the stereotypical problem child, with no respect for authority. Then as she matured, she began to calm down and accept the teachings that didn't involve moving or freezing things with her mind. But one thing that stayed constant in her life was her need to help people. Mara was the kind of person to stand up to a bully and make sure that that bully didn't hurt anyone else. When she learned how to heal people through the Force, she was ecstatic, and was most often healing people the best she could, or providing first aid if using the force was overboard. her brash nature remained with her though, which leads her to say things before really thinking them through, or just failing to realize what she is saying might be offensive.
Skills
Mara is well-trained in many force abilities as well as many different fighting techniques. She is a master with her Wan-shen, and hand-to hand combat. her power in the force is less reliable when it comes to attacks, as she mainly focused on meditation and improving her mental abilities while in training to become a Matukai Adept. She is trained in basic mechanics and slicing, jsut enough to keep her ship running and in good condition.
Appearance
Mara is dark-skinned, with a lithe but muscular build. Her training as a Matukai has made her quite flexible. She will usually be wearing a dark blue padded shirt with gold accents, loose fitting pants and knee-high boots. Around her waist is a blue and green sash, indicating her Matukai rank. Her Wan-shen is usually fastened to her back for quick access, and her Matukai gauntlets are almost always present among her clothing. Over her base clothing, she wears a sleeveless coat made from rancor hide, and dyed a deep cobalt blue. Her hair is usually pulled into a bun or ponytail above her undercut. Her shirts usually reach up to cover the gills on her neck, to reduce the chance of them drying out. When her Matukai is collapsed and disassembled, the two blades are stored within her coat in sewn-in scabbards, while the staff portion remains on her back as a blunt weapon.

DESCRIPTION
The VCX-100 light freighter is a model of transport which was once manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Considered archaic in the present day, the VCX-100 - commonly called simply the 100, "The Century" or "The Hun" - was the progenitor of the longstanding VCX line, a staple of CEC's catalog for many centuries alongside the more famous YT series. Being a more "upscale" line, the VCX pioneered many features found in later CEC models, and maintains a reputation as a quality ship even into the present day.

The VCX-100 operates with a crew of 4, including a pilot, optional co-pilot and 2 gunners. It is able to carry 6 additional passengers, with a cargo capacity of 90 tons. It is 41 meters in length. Performance is comparable to later YT-series models, with a top speed of 50 MGLT and a class 2 hyperdrive. Armament consists of 2 dual light laser turrets, 1 on the dorsal hull and 1 located in the bow, just underneath the cockpit, with a medium deflector screen generator for defense. Though not as modular as the later YT series, the VCX-100 was considered to be exceptionally easy to modify for its time.

Notably, the VCX-100 has a total of 3 docking rings. 2 are located on sides, while the 3rd is position on the dorsal hull, and is often used to host "parasite" craft such as small snubfighters or ultralight shuttles. Doing so proved quite popular during, and CEC actually produced a matching light fighter - the VCX-series auxiliary starfighter - which matched the VCX-100's hull panels and was meant specifically for the purpose. VCX starfighters were sold as a factory option with new VCX-100s, and are exceptionally rare and collectible in the present day.

On a more utilitarian note, VCX-100s were equipped with magnetic cargo clamps as standard, allowing them to capture loose containers and other metallic items and adhere them to an area of their outer hull.

Despite their by now considerable age, the durability, reliability and performance of the VCX-100 has kept it in service all the way to the present day in some parts of the Galaxy. Although it has mostly disappeared from main hyperlanes, the type can still be found in backrocket sectors and systems.

Mara has repainted the outside to varying shades of Cobalt Blue, and has converted two of the living quarters into training/meditation spaces for when she is in the ship for long periods of time.

Legal. Light freighters such as the VCX-100 are considered innocuous enough under most jurisdictions, and are not restricted in most systems

INTENT
To reskin a relatively common ship to suit my character's needs, so that she may travel the galaxy with relative freedom and carry on the nomadic traditions of the Matukai, as a Jedi.

BIOGRAPHY
The story of Gavin Freyl is not that of a typical Sith. For one, both of his parents are still alive, and living happily within the Sith Eternal. Gavin's parents were scientists and engineers working for the Eternal's weapon development department. From birth, Gavin showed an aptitude for the sciences and often spent every day with his parents, learning what he could. Since he was able to read, whenever Gavin wasn't with his parents, he was most likely reading books on his holopad, learning about quantum Physics, the Force, and the History of the Sith Eternal.

His love of knowledge only grew as he aged, with more and more of his time being spent working with his parents as he quickly proved to be an intellectual prodigy. Around his fifteenth birthday, Gavin showed an aptitude for the Force, after having caught a falling soldering iron with the Force. After this discovery, Gavin began training to control his abilities with the Force and become a Legionnaire. But, there was a problem, he didn't want to be a Legionnaire.

That was, until his parents were killed on a mission. They were on a research mission to an old and abandoned Sith base from the old Galactic Empire, trying to dig up Sith history, but it became too dangerous when a few Jedi came to destroy the knowledge that his parents sought. In the end, one of the troopers that accompanied Gavin's parents told him of the tragedy that befell his parents. Blind with rage and sorrow, Gavin lashed out with the Force, killing the Trooper instantly as arcs of Force Lightning were expelled from the boy's body with unyeilding force. The event left him with electrical burn scars covering his arms and reaching up his neck.

After this, his training became more intensive, his master wanting him to learn to control his power, not hide it. Gavin learned to apply his knowledge of Physics to his ability with the Force. Quickly mastering Telekinesis, while starting to learn Pyro-, and Cryokinesis. As well as continuing to fine-tune his Electrokinesis. Gavin reluctantly agreed to learning how to fight with a lightsaber, mastering one, mostly defensive, form while sampling a few others.

Gavin is still an Acolyte with much to learn, and he learns more and more every day. His Career as a Sith is just beginning, but not even he knows the kind of disaster and destruction he will help the Sith bring down upon the Galaxy.
Personality
Gavin is not the most social of Sith. He almost always has his nose in a book or a holopad. He has been known to shock those who take his book or holopad away from him, so be warned. Gavin finds joy in books, testing out his powers, and generally causing those around him to think, "Who the Kark is this kid?" He has been very successful so far. Although being an Acolyte and quickly gaining power and maturity through training and trauma, Gavin's still only Nineteen. So of course he's looking to mess with people and have a little fun in his life, but not a lot has been the same since his parents died, and the event. There used to be a light in his eyes whenever he was smiling, but now the only light is the dim golden glow starting to overtake his deep blue iris'.
Skills
Gavin has mastered only one lightsaber form, as he likes to stand back and attack with the Force rather than get up close and personal with a Jedi. His skills with the force include a mastery of Telekinesis, an adept understanding of Cryo- and Pyrokinesis, and a beginner's grasp on controlling Electrokinesis. He has a bad habit of letting it get out of control.
Appearance
Gavin is a scrawny kid, choosing to focus more on studies than food and exercise. His pale skin and reddish-blonde hair only accentuate his gauntness, leading others to believe that the Dark side had already corrupted him too much. But, his iris' are still mostly blue, with a faint ring of gold surrounding his pupils. Gavins is almost always wearing a brown trench coat, with a long purple scarf that used to belong to his mother.

DESCRIPTION
This Lightsaber was crafted from Gavin's original two blades. He wanted to be able to easily store and wield them when needed. The hinge allows for the two blades to be used as a double-bladed saber, and a single bladed saber with an extended hilt. The two blades are detachable, though Gavin rarely uses this feature.

LEGALITY
The only places where this would be illegal is probably those that do not allow open-carry weapons, or lightsabers, or Sith for that matter.

Born and raised within a Deucalian clan on Alzoc III, Sigrid lived a life defined by only one rule: Survive. From a young age she was taught how to survive in the harsh tundras of Alzoc. Hunting, trapping, and Forging being chief among those skills. Sigrid was Daughter to Frey, the clan Blacksmith. Frey was the man to see about a new weapon, fix an old one, or repurpose one thing into something else.

Frey taught Sigrid everything he knew about weapon making and gunsmithing, so that she could keep her weapons in peak condition, and boy did she. Sigrid was thirteen when she forged her first axe, wielding it with pride and fury as the warriors and hunters of the clan taught her how to fight. With each passing year, Sigrid grew in both skill and power. Her body grew to be tall and muscular, perfect for wielding her axe. Her mind also grew with her skills in Smithing and firing weapons.

DESCRIPTION
This slug rifle was developed and manufactured before the old republic fell, gaining traction in outer rim worlds where the laws of the Galaxy were less intrusive and rarely thought of. Once popular among frontier explorers, homesteaders, and local defense forces, they also saw service in specialized units of core world militaries many centuries ago. Once upon a time they were manufactured and distributed en masse by a number of now defunct arms manufacturers, but few modern producers are left. Like most slugthrowers, they are illegal or heavily regulated in much of the core, seeing legal use only in sport and exhibition and it is often difficult to supply ammunition for them. Criminals and assassins still find uses for the crude weapons, and they are still commonly found among raiders and pirates on the fringes of the well traveled galaxy, where their distinctive thundering crack sound strikes fear into their prey.

Illegal practically everywhere. Slugthrower weapons are usually considered crude and cruel.

INTENT
To expand the slugthrower catalog now that Deucalians are beginning to show up more and more. I would think that with them being in the outer rim, they picked up the use of slug throwers more than blasters.

Sigrid Freysdottir's Deucalian Armor

Sigrid's armor was made by the main blacksmith in her clan, it was made to signal her rise to the Warrior status in her clan. The armor is made of polished durasteel and leather, and the Gauntlet on her left arm was forged of leftover beskar from reforging her greataxe.

LEGALITY

The armor is legal everywhere.

INTENT

To provide my character with some customized armor from her past to use in combat an missions

RESTRICTIONS
No restrictions other than the fact that it's a personalized armor.

Functions



Function 1: Grapple Line
  • Grapple lines are capable of supporting the weight of 1-2 people and can launch up to ranges typically up to 15 meters away. Once no longer in use, they are detached from the launcher and left behind. While hand-held grapple guns are capable of auto-winching, armor or wrist mounted devices lack this ability. Grapple lines must be manually activated and controlled by a button or switch.
Function 2: Concealed Blade
  • Concealed blades are typically 4-6 inches in length and lock into place once extended. They are almost always placed along the fore-arm or boot. They are no substitute for true combat knives as the locking mechanism can break under strong impacts. Still, some people enjoy them as a helpful backup.
Function 3: Armorweave Accessory (Jacket)
  • Most often in the form of a heavy cape, skirt, or underlay beneath armor, armor weave provides some protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives and other unpowered high velocity impacts, with only a small amount of bleed through damage (bruising or very minor wounds). It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, vibroweapons, or similar "powered" weapons. Having more than one accessory (example: Cape + underweave) provides no additional effect.
