Jakkar reacted in a way that would not be natural for most people, as the lightsaber made contact with his shoulder blade, he moved his body diagonally upwards to make less of a target of himself, basically catching it with his armor, he groaned in pain as the lightsaber dug into his back, going through metal and melting it into his skin, but he couldn't stop now, he'd put too much effort into this move to stop because a little flesh wound! He had his opponents lightsaber grounded, and in an awkward placement where his hand was on Jakkar's back, which gave him the opportunity to grab the arm, and drag himself back up to a standing position, dragging the Selkath down and unbalancing him as he did so.

He wasn't going to give up this fight, his opponents plea for him to stand down would not deter him. So, employing one of the oldest tactics in the book, he just whipped his leg back and crotched his opponent with all the force he could muster, simultaneously pulling on his opponents arm with the last of his energy to let the green lightsaber free from the scaly grasp of the Selkath...

Tenacity was an admirable trait, but the duel was over. Tenacity now was just foolish. Or brainwashing. Who knew what the Sith were capable of when training acolytes? Tagg had inflicted a serious wound across the man's back. The acrid smell of burning metal and polymers mixed with burnt flesh. Any normal human would be down for the count. But Jakkar had found a way to cling onto Tagg's arm. He was even trying to use Tagg as an anchor to haul himself up.

It was not working as smoothly as it normally might. Tagg could feel his feet slipping in the muck and he accepted a fall to his knees was inevitable. As Jakkar hauled his upper body up, Tagg's free hand (which he had earlier readied in case he needed to use it against a counter-attack) pistoned out to meet Jakkar's face before the Sith could regain his footing. It was a target that could not be missed at this range. The Sith was dazed from pain of his back wound, pain from trying to move and put pressure on the knee Jakkar had injured to avoid the thigh strike, anger, rain falling in his eyes if he looked upwards, and all he had put into that lightning attack; Tagg sincerely doubted Jakkar would be able to muster any sort of block. And with speed and Tagg's weight (as he was technically falling down with it), the blow would feel like getting hit by a Star Destroyer.

"Stop it!" he hissed fishily, urging Jakkar to give up.

Jakkar's instincts flared again, this time too late, as the world flashed white all around him and he was forced to let go of his wind up, instead stumbling sideways as he was unbalanced by the force of the blow and his own folly of unbalancing himself, he was exhausted, but not enough to deceive himself no longer, with pain racked all throught his body with both overexertion and injuries, the proud Sith Warrior realised.

He'd lost...

It pained him to admit that, more than anything, more than the pain of losing his weapon, more than the feeling of the deep gash on his back, melting metal into the wound. It was his first real trial, and he'd lost, against a Jedi poised to kill him with a strike, his weapons, one destroyed, one still laying dormant on the ground, he called it back into his hand, it was fast, faster than the Jedi could catch it even if he wanted to...

But he wasn't going to die...

With a heavy heart, and a new lesson learned, he slowly crawled backwards, the sounds of the storm and the crackling of lightning mixing with the roar of the waves from the sea below, it was going to be a long fall, but he would survive, Ord Mantell was a Sith World, he would get treatment. And once he was done, once he was finally back in fightning shape, he would get better, and when he did finally do that, he was going to find him.

He would get his... "Revenge..." The last part said out loud, he pushed himself off the ciffside, and felt the whipping of the wind through his body as he fell down...

The heel of his palm collided with Jakkar's head, the force of the impact sent a shudder up his arm. Jakkar was sent tumbling, stumbling sideways and Tagg dropped to his knees. Tagg's lightsaber arm was free once more so he readied it just in case as he carefully pulled himself to his feet. He noted that Jakkar had recovered his lightsaber and was scrambling away from Tagg. Scrambling towards a cliff edge.

Tagg kept his lightsaber low in an nonthreatening pose. Not deactivated though, he didn't trust Jakkar to not pull something. Tagg felt bad. He had injured the guy pretty badly, humiliated him even. Lighting cracked and for a brief moment Tagg could see pale while spots of skin underneath the mud that caked Jakkar's face. He whispered something to Tagg, but he could not hear what over the storm. Then Jakkar fell out of sight.

Tagg blinked in surprise. Did he just... He hurried over to the cliff edge and peered over. If Jakkar survived that fall, he might last long enough in the sea for someone to find him. Or so Tagg hoped. Amazing. Jakkar had jumped into the sea to escape the Selkath Jedi. Tagg stood there, looking out at the waves as they rolled far below. He wondered what sort of treatment Jakkar would get. Not for his wounds, but for losing a fight and "allowing" himself to be wounded like that. The Sith were supposedly not a very forgiving bunch.

Should he have captured him instead? Tagg could have, he could have reached out with the force before Jakkar fell from the cliff. But how would he take a sith prisoner off a sith world? More importantly, would Tagg be able to guarantee Jakkar would be treated in a humane manner? He only had to remind himself of Corvo Vis to know the answer to that.

Tagg turned away from the cliff and his thoughts about Jakkar's future. Right now he needed to leave before Jakkar was able to report what had happened.
