THE HYPERLANE HERALD

Bringing the Galaxy, to you.

Child Sweeps Victory at Hutt Arenas

Tributes continue to pour in following the shocking victory of the girl, Alias Drast (@Sreeya) in the Boonta Tournament. Having been marketed as the ”Most violent tournament in the galaxy.” and branded by the League against Cage Sport as an ‘inhumane blood sport’, many had anticipated the more experienced and professional combatants to sweep the final rounds of the tournament.

Dxun Hunt Drive

Thanks to an increase in Exile Activity on the Feudalistic World of Onderon - a planet wide Dxun Hunt is reportedly underway, with members of the radical Exiles sect swarming to the world to stake their claim on these monstrous beasts.
From the off, the Boonta was set to be a shocker, with one entrant breaking her ankles on entry into the arena (@Darasuum) - having clearly misread the instruction manual on her jump boots, granting Alias an early lead in the competition. Commencing with odds of some 200/1, they narrowed rapidly as bookies attempted to offset their first round losses, whilst many put her early win down to sheer chance and wrote it off.

Disappointment was abound, just about drowned out by the exultant screaming of one man - who had placed his life savings on ”...that wee lass smashin’ it.”. Alias was unavailable for comment, however we here at the Herald hope to see more of this rising star in the weeks to come. In the meantime, other fights have taken place hosted by a private group (@Notorious) which saw Gambler Darren Reed beaten to a pulp, and shaved by the fearsome ‘Wook’ (@Clayton) - the video clip of which is now the second most watched vid on the net.

Darren has been unable to comment, but is reportedly entertaining various cosmetics brands around a very lucrative hair styling production deal.

Force Users Culled in Saber Search

Dozens of Force Sensitives have been culled in a month long orgy of violence. Following on from the Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Cartel announcing vast rewards for the capture of a Lightsaber, dozens of Force users have been on the run from baying hordes of Bounty Hunters and armed opportunists eager to make the score, as well as a name for themselves.

Jedi Tombs Set for Plunder

Historian, Jaq Errin, has teamed up with local Jedi (@Arclight @Loco @AutoFox) and explorers, to delve into the tombs found on Jedha. Mired in concern over his ‘plundering’ of previous Digs, we only hope the force users watch him closely!
Reports are abound of Jedi being cornered in bars and shot down by teams of Bounty Hunters, with some Jedi presumably terrified to enter open areas, for fear of attack. Members of the radical splinter sect of the Jedi Order - known as the Exiles have likewise not been spared the attentions of the Hunters, with several of their number reported dead or missing in recent weeks.

Presently the Bounty stands at ONE MILLION Credits for a Cartel Member turning in the trophies, or FIVE-HUNDRED THOUSAND for a non-Cartel Member wishing to convert their spoils into cold hard credits. The Hutts have, despite it not being their main currency, continued to pay out in Galactic Standard Credits heightening concerns that the Criminal Moguls may be plotting moves on a wider Galactic Scale in the months to come.

If you have a Lightsaber you wish to trade in, you can do so at the Returns office on the Smugglers Moon. Traders are advised to travel armed, as numerous street gangs have set up to intercept hunters on their way to the returns office.

THE ALL NEW COMMLINK

All the rage, and for the low low price of 20 Credits, the Brooch Commlink is an absolute must have for socialites and explorers everywhere! BUY BUY BUY!

OOC Note - This ‘Paper’ currently only covers events that would be known of in the Deep Core and in Hutt Space due to the personal history of its editor, Baron Varik Yas’guul Esq. It is assumed that the ‘Paper’ has a very small HoloNet circulation, and it is perfectly reasonable to assume that most characters would never had seen it or read it.
