Jaikus couldn’t deny feeling particularly giddy at the moment. The Axxilan had touched down on Onderon less than an hour ago, immediately departing from the spaceport and making his way on a transport, headed for the hotel where he was meant to meet up with Emryc. Unlike his usual tradition of appearing like a ghost out of thin air, Jaikus had communicated well in advance with Emryc before arriving on the planet. The monthly Senate Session was still a few days away, and Jaikus had completely cleared his schedule to spend that bit of time with his partner.

It had been a few weeks since the events of both Telos and Dantooine, allowing Emryc time to recover from the gruesome injuries he had sustained. As expected, Jaikus had gone straight to the half-Sephi’s side after leaving the frigid mountains of Telos – even when the man was submerged in Bacta - and had remained in constant correspondence with his partner since then.

Seated within his transport, Jaikus had dressed for the occasion in his usual style. He wore a
well-fitted suit vest and white button-up, alongside a pair of tight-fitting black dress pants. The air around him was lightly scented with his usual cologne, and as per usual, his outfit was accessorized with that familiar chrono-and-bracelet combo – the gold chain from Tattooine hanging down on his wrist and brushing against his palm.

As he so-often did around his partner now-a-days, Jaikus allowed his dark hair to take on its naturally curly texture – dark ringlets and curls styled loosely and left to tumble over his forehead. Additionally, the Axxilan had abandoned his usual contacts for a pair of glasses – dark framed, dorky lens that rested gently against the bridge of his nose.

Emryc’s security detail had long-since been notificed of Jaikus’ coming, allowing the Axxilan to passright through once his transport arrived at the hotel. As soon as he passed the threshold, Emryc would receive notification that a certain ‘Altaïr Malik’ had arrived on the premises.

It was the name Jaikus had chosen for his public pseudonym, one that bore no connections to the Sith and allowed the Axxilan to freely be around his partner. It was the name that now – thanks to Emryc’s connections with the Bothan Intelligence network – corresponded with all the legitimate identification that the Axxilan carried with him.

Leaving his luggage – several days’ worth of clothes and other items – at the front desk to be brought up later, it didn’t take Jaikus long after that to reach the entrance to Emryc’s suite, striding right up to the front door.

Almost at once, the Axxilan reached up with his right hand, fixing his hair and straightening the hem of his vest. In his left hand, Jaikus carried a green, vegan smoothie for his partner – having specifically made his transport spot along the way to pick it up and surprise his partner with. The beverage may as well have been grass-clippings in a cup, but Jaikus knew just how much his partner enjoyed them.

After a moment of pause, Jaikus finally reached forward and knocked – thwapping his knuckles against the door a few times. Just as he did so, Axxilan tucked his left arm behind his back – meaning to surprise the half-Sephi with the beverage whenever the man answered the door.

Emryc had arrived on the planet a few days prior, and he had been intently focused on preparing for the upcoming senate session. He was a thorough individual, and he was rapidly pulling up every detail he could on the main speakers in attendance. The first proposal was one he knew he would destroy in a matter of seconds. However, he never walked in unprepared, and he quickly began pulling up GHO and other information to line up his counterpoints. He also analyzed the planets that would speak up against him, and how and when to play the sympathy card. A lot of this didn’t come to him as naturally as he appeared, and he often had to get into a certain headspace.

“I need some talking points on ISCRA,” The half Sephi had Aila on speakerphone while furiously jotting down some notes.

“Shall I send you the detailed manifesto?”

Emryc thought for a moment, twirling the stylus between his fingers, “No, just pass along one of Galek’s ISCRA For Dummies pamphlets. That’ll be enough for me to bury this senator.”

He was about to make a few more requests when he saw the notification pop up about Jaikus’ arrival.

“Next agenda item is-”

“Talk later,” He clicked off the comlink and rose to stand, making his way towards the door when he heard a knock.

Though he knew Jaikus was coming, when he opened the door, it was clear the half Sephi was completely giddy and surprised. His face externally was more or less his default expression with a light smile, but his eyes betrayed warmth and elation. The half Sephi was adorned in his Rancors hoodie, some shorts and glasses. It was clear that he had no time to pay attention to his state of attire while being caught up with work. His hair was also slightly messy. All of this was opposite of how put together Jaikus looked, as always. This vest was particularly flattering and Emryc couldn’t help but let his gaze linger for a second or two.

Emryc said nothing, casually reaching over to hook his arms behind the Axxilan’s thighs to hoist him up and wrap his legs around his hips. The half Sephi had no qualms with picking up his partner and Jaikus had learned to invest in more flexible pants. Of course, Emryc had no idea about the smoothie, so it was up to Jaikus on preventing some sort of spill.

Emryc held Jaikus close against him, gazing up at his partner with an affectionate smile as the door closed behind them.

“I’ve missed you, puffer pig,” He said quietly, words he didn’t utter very often. Though he held the Axxilan tightly, when Jaikus shifted his legs, he would notice that Emryc winced slightly. Clearly he wasn’t entirely healed from his severe injuries, and very adamantly ignoring them.

The moment he knocked on the door, Jaikus couldn’t contain the wide, toothy smile that tugged at the corners of his lips. He had practically been counting the hours until he saw the half-Sephi again, and he was practically overflowing with excitement now. While he waited for Emryc to open the door, Jaikus once more began to casually fix his hair and straighten the collar of his button-up.

Emerald eyes portrayed just how genuinely happy the Axxilan was in that moment - glinting bright the moment Emryc came into view. He immediately took a moment to admire the man before him - taking in the site of his attire, including the glasses and messy hair. There was something incredibly endearing about seeing the half-Sephi dressed down, and it was something Jaikus had adorned since the first time he saw it on Keldooine. It was quite the opposite to how Jaikus looked, and yet the Axxilan’s eyes lingered all the same.

Jaikus couldn’t help but let out a loud fit of giggles, a few of his characteristic snorts weaving into the laughter when Emryc scooped him up. It was far from the first time Emryc had pulled the maneuver, and the Axxilan had since invested in pants with a bit more elasticity, sparing him fron torn clothes each and every time. It was a gesture that immediately brought an overwhelming sense of warmth and comfort to Jaikus and felt like home.

Of course, the sudden lift meant that Jaikus had to react quickly to save the smoothie.

His left hand shoot out from behind his back and straight out to his side, a bit of the smoothie sloshing through the domed lid but otherwise not spilling quite yet. Of course, this would reveal the surprise almost at once - the half-Sephi now having full sight of the verdant green smoothie. "Surprise," He said, flashing the smoothie in front of his partner. “I even asked for an extra shot of grass clippings - just the way you like it.” He said, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips.

There was a loving smile plastered across the Axxilan’s lips, emerald eyes fixated upon those familiar silvers. “I missed you too, Emy.” He said softly, leaning in to briefly capture the half-Sephi’s lips. In that moment, Jaikus simply wanted to savor the closeness that they now shared.

Nevertheless, Jaikus clearly noted the way that Emryc winced - evidence that his injuries from Dantooine hadn't fully healed. He didn’t motion for the half-Sephi to put him down, but instead Jaikus purposefully didn’t wrap his legs around the half-Sephi’s hips as tightly, attempting not to put pressure on the sensitive area.

While presenting the smoothie with one hand, Jaikus’ other hand looped behind the half-Sephi’s neck, gently scratching and stroking the back of his hair. “How are you feeling, babe?” There was a genuine edge of concern to his voice, glancing down to where Emryc had been stabbed.

The sound of Jaikus' laughter was something he missed terribly. Hearing it fill the air again tugged at the corners of his lips, and his ears shifted accordingly. It was the same effect the laugh had on him since the very first time he heard it on Telos. Before he knew he met the man he would grow to fiercely love in ways he never had before.

Emryc’s gaze flicked over to the veggie smoothie, and his eyes visibly widened in delight. He was so excited about seeing the green smoothie that Jaikus almost missed his mouth when he went for a kiss. The half Sephi squeezed his partner extra tight, lingering on the kiss and that familiar taste he had missed when they were apart. Emryc stared blankly at Jaikus when he asked about his injury. The Axxilan knew his stoic face well enough to know that the look on his face was very much him rolling his eyes in exasperation. Hint taken.

Emryc walked over to the kitchen area of his suite while still holding the other man. It was clear the half Sephi found Jaikus effortless to carry and move around. He arrived at his destination, setting Jaikus gently down on the counter, his feet dangling over the edge. Emryc casually reached to snag the smoothie, excitedly drawing from the straw. His ears twitched slightly in contentment, “Hmmm,” He said simply as he drank from the mush.

He shrugged vaguely after a moment, “I’m better now,” He flashed Jaikus a half grin. For a moment he eyed the other man before his gaze abruptly flicked over to the smoothie. He lifted it up and stared at it as if it were clearly more important, “I mean just look at this smoothie. It’s enough to make anyone’s day.”

Those characteristic giggles filled the air, and Jaikus couldn’t help but smile bright at that moment, immediately catching sight of the way Emryc’s ears swiveled and shifted. There was something incredibly endearing about the involuntary movements of the half-Sephi’s ears, conveying more than simply words ever could. It was one of the great many things that the Axxilan had grown to love about half-Sephi ever since the first time he witnessed it.

Jaikus smile tugged a bit wider, watching as his partner’s eyes widened the moment he saw the green smoothie, staring for a moment before capturing his lips. Ever since their meeting on Keldooine, Jaikus had been very aware of Emryc’s love for the beverages - despite most regular people finding the lawn-clipping-flavored smoothies repulsive. The friendly twi’lek woman working behind the juice-bar had been one such person, going out of her way to suggest all different kinds of sweet, fruity smoothies that would’ve been more palatable. But Jaikus knew his partner all to well, insisting on the veggie-crammed mixture.

The Axxilan immediate recognized the exasperation behind Emryc’s stoic face, meeting the expression with an arching a brow and half smirk to his partner. The half-Sephi had picked him up plenty of times before, and it was a gesture that filled Jaikus with delight ever single time. Even still, the Axxilan was still conscious of Emryc’s injuries, even if the man himself adamantly tried to ignore them. His fingers curled on the back of Emryc’s neck, hugging his partner tightly as they traveled. He leaned forward a bit, planting one more kiss to the half-Sephi’s cheek before being plopped down onto the countertop.

He placed his hands behind him, leaning back on the countertop while the half-Sephi excitedly drew from his smoothie. Jaikus couldn’t help but grin when Emryc spoke again, immediately recognizing the little ‘hmm’ from his partner which conveyed his satisfaction. The Axxilan rolled his eyes a bit, watching as Emryc overdramatically lifted up his smoothie. “Why of course. I mean, what else could you possibly be so happy about?" He brought a hand up, tapping his chin in thought. "It must be the quarter-pound of kale and spinach that they jammed into that cup that makes your ears move like that.” He quipped, wiggling his brows at the half-Sephi. "That must be it."

Jaikus lingered against the countertop, allowing his emerald gaze to briefly wander around the large hotel suite. He eventually worked his way back to the kitchen, glancing down towards the drawer full of culinary gadgets - making a mental note to check through them later. "So what's on the agenda for today, Mr. President?" He smirked a bit, emeralds flicking back to Emryc.

"I did have some ideas, if you think you can fit me into your very busy schedule." The Axxilan teased, gently swaying his foot while staring up at the half-Sephi.

Emryc couldn’t help but grin as Jaikus rolled his eyes and remarked on his beverage choice. The half Sephi was well aware that his food preferences were considered almost universally terrible. Anyone that got remotely close to him was consistently exasperated by his taste for exceptionally bland flavors. However, he had made some great progress over time thanks to others in his life and his many diplomatic visits. He had to suffer through many complex flavored dishes to avoid offending some galactic leader.

“I don’t hear you complaining about my diet and life choices when I take my clothes off,” Emryc said with a grin as he leaned towards Jaikus. He planted both hands on the counter, pressing himself in between the other man’s dangling legs. He leaned his face in close to the Axxilan’s. Emryc’s arm slid around the other man, but he simply winked at Jaikus as he grabbed an apple from behind him. The half Sephi stepped back and took a bite, taking a moment to walk towards his window. As soon as he did so, he regretted it, seeing countless fans below. He knew someone would have spotted him looking out and it would be all over that stupid app. Emryc closed the curtains and stepped away.

“I'm afraid my day’s all booked up,” Emryc said as he walked around tidying up his place. He despised having anyone else in his presence when his place was anything less than spotless. Even when alone, he could only stand it for so long, “I will be preoccupied with a Mr. Malik,” Emryc took another bite of his apple, using the Force lazily to open a drawer and expertly float over stacks of folders to pop them in, “We’re going to kick things off with an exclusive food and wine tour through Iziz, including at the royal palace, where I’m going to be on my best behavior and...try new foods without any verbal complaints.”

The half Sephi glanced over at Jaikus, “But Mr. Malik also tends to be crafty, so I’m sure he will find other ways to keep me occupied. So, you see, I plan on being dreadfully busy. Sorry,” He shrugged his shoulders.

Jaikus’ smile tugged a bit wider when Emryc spoke, emerald eyes glinting as he stared up at the half-Sephi. “You’re right,” He muttered softly, biting down on his lower lip. He could feel his heart quicken a bit in his chest, and there was a notable flush of red that began to spread outward from the Axxilan’s cheeks. Rather than stay reclined back on the counter, Jaikus slowly leaned forward, his face hovering only a few inches away from his partner. “That’s about the last thing I want to do when you take your clothes off,”

Almost instinctively, the Axxilan brought a hand up from behind him, hooking his index finger around the dangling drawstring of Emryc’s hoodie. He began to slowly coil the string around his finger, threatening to close that little bit of distance. It was at that precise moment that Emryc simply winked, grabbing the apple from behind and taking a step back.

“Damn tease,” He muttered moodily, albeit while failing to suppress the smirk that still tugged at his lips.

Emerald eyes followed as Emryc stepped towards the window, giving his exceptionally creepy fans the glimpse of an appearance that they’d been waiting for. The Axxilan had only briefly glimpsed the steadily-growing crowds briefly on his way to the hotel, and was completely ignorant to the existence of that wretched app for the moment. He watched as the half-Sephi began to steadily tidy up the hotel room, finally pushing himself off the countertop.

“Is that so?” Jaikus arched a brow playfully, listening as Emryc began to explain his plans with a certain ‘Mr. Malik’. The pseudonym was something that the pair had ultimately decided upon together, and hearing the half-Sephi utter it now brought a smile to the Axxilan’s lips. It was the first time he was hearing his partner’s plans, and Jaikus couldn’t help the giddy look that eventually worked its way onto his face - a genuine sense of happiness and joy swelling within him. It never seemed to matter what the pair were doing, so long as Emryc was with him, Jaikus was happy as could be.

As he listened, Jaikus casually began to help straighten up the apartment, gathering up some of the spare papers that had been left out, gingerly floating them through the Force for Emryc to sort. “Well, Mr. Malik is certainly a lucky man to have your undivided attention. And your best behavior, hm?”

Jaikus finally made his way to stand right in front of his partner, emerald eyes tilted upwards. He leaned up just then, planting a kiss against the half-Sephi’s cheek before turning to whisper against the fluted ear. “I’m sure you’ll be rewarded for that,” He muttered, grinning mischievously before stepping back - turning his attention to another folder to hand to Emryc.

“Well, I happen to have it on good authority that Mr. Malik has a great many things planned to keep you occupied with, all the way up until the Senate session.” Jaikus shrugged, feigning a look of disappointment. “Sounds like I’m completely out of luck - maybe another time.” He let out an overdramatic sigh. Of couse, none of it was very convincing, considering the grin that quickly reappeared.

“So, when do you and Mr. Malik leave for your night on the town?” He inquired, glancing down at his chrono.

Emryc was almost tempted to stay right there when Jaikus began to tug against the hoodie string. The Axxilan had his own ways of being enticing and he knew exactly how to catch Emryc’s attention. There was a low chuckle before the half Sephi finally stepped away.

Emryc paused and glanced briefly at Jaikus when he eased right into helping tidy up the place. There was something exceedingly warm about such a simple gesture, and he found himself staring quietly. By now, the Axxilan would recognize whenever his gaze betrayed fondness even amidst the frosty silvers.

Emryc said nothing about it, quietly filing everything away. It was clear he had been working nonstop, countless papers and pages with handwritten notes everywhere. The man was meticulous about almost every aspect of his life, and this was especially so in his political career. Emryc paused what he was doing when Jaikus stepped in front of him, giving him a quick kiss. The half Sephi was about to step away when the Axxilan whispered against his ear. That ear twitched almost at once, a low groan rumbling in that deep baritone.

The half Sephi caught Jaikus’ wrist as he pulled away, tossing the folder casually to the floor, its contents spilling out. He tugged the Axxilan close, snaking his other arm around his waist. Emryc grinned down at his partner, “Think he’d be willing to give me an advance on that reward?” His hand slid down his back and lower to possessively cop a feel without shame. It was a far cry from back when Emryc had been downright shy about touching his partner as he pleased.

It took the Axxilan a few seconds to fully recover after Emryc left him on the countertop, that tinge of red lingering on his cheeks as his mind wandered freely. When the half-Sephi finally started tidying up the hotel room, however, Jaikus finally shifted from where he was sitting – pushing off the countertop to help his partner clean up the room.

He immediately went to work collecting and stacking the pages and handwritten notes, neatly organizing each one before handing them off for Emryc to file away. Jaikus knew about his partner’s meticulous and neat-freak habits, and the impulse to help tidy up the hotel room to such standards came naturally, easing right into it without a second thought.

Jaikus eventually glanced back over his shoulder briefly, catching sight of Emryc staring back at him. There was an unmistakable fondness behind those familiar silvers, and it immediately brought a renewed smile to the Axxilan’s lips, even if he said nothing for the moment.

Of course, Jaikus knew exactly what he was doing when he went in for that quick kiss, uttering his whispers against that sensitive, fluted ear. He couldn’t help the mischievous grin that tugged at the corners of his lips, hearing that low, baritone grumble as he teasingly turned to walk away. Jaikus couldn’t help but grin a bit wider when Emryc abruptly grabbed him by the wrist, a renewed fire glinting against those emeralds when he was spun back around and pulled close. Almost at once, the Axxilan leaned upwards, moving in to capture the half-Sephi’s lips for only a moment. He did not linger against the embrace for long, instead shifting to bite down on his partner’s bottom lip, nibbling for a moment before releasing and drawing back a few inches.

“I think he might be inclined, if you ask him nicely,” He whispered, emerald eyes tilted upwards to meet those familiar silvers.

Jaikus let out a soft groan, feeling as Emryc shamelessly moved to grab at his rear. It was a gesture that immediately sent jolts through the Axxilan, manifesting a clear reaction through his body. It was a far cry from how reserved they had once been around each other, and Jaikus had long since grown of the bold, shameless touching from his partner – something he desperately missed each time they were separated.

Reciprocating the gesture, Jaikus brought a hand up from his sides, lightly dragging his fingernails along the half-Sephi’s neck before sliding downwards – trailing across the man’s muscular torso and stomach before gradually slipping below the waist to grasp at his prize. The Axxilan lingered there for a long while, takin his time to meticulously tease and maneuver as he pleased – responding accordingly to each and every little reaction from his partner’s body. All the while, Jaikus kept his eyes fixated upwards and upon his partner, gently biting down on his own lip as he worked.

After a few more moments, Jaikus finally shifted from where he was standing – both hands withdrawing and instead moving to grasp Emryc by the shoulders. Without a word, Jaikus began to step them back from where they were standing, crossing the room until his partner’s back was pressed firmly against one of the interior walls.

Once there, the Axxilan finally released his partner’s torso, sliding his hands down and instead gripping the half-Sephi by the wrists. Assuming the half-Sephi did not resist the gesture, Jaikus would guide the man’s hands away from his rear, instead placing his partner’s hands behind his back and against the wall, level his with lumbar spine – a clear indication for the half-Sephi to keep them there.

With that, Jaikus leaned up once more, planting feather kisses against the half-Sephi’s neck before abruptly drawing back, sinking down to his knees without another word. As he lowered, the Axxilan hooked his fingers beneath his partner’s shorts, pulling them downward and out of the way – allowing the fabric to bunch up on the ground.

Starting at the upper thigh, Jaikus gradually began to trail kisses across the half-Sephi’s skin, lightly grazing his teeth as he traveled inward. His lips parted when he finally arrived at his destination, diving down to capture his prize. He desperately craved to taste the man he loved once more, teasing and maneuvering in all the ways he knew would drive Emryc wild.

Every little breath and noise manifested as vibrations against his partner, and after a while, Jaikus finally snaked a hand around the half-Sephi’s waist and gripped possessively, pulling his hips a bit closer. At that moment, the Axxilan finally tilted his eyes upward – meeting those frosty silvers once more.

If Jaikus wanted Emryc’s complete, undivided attention he certainly had it right then. He tilted his head to return the kiss, only to have the Axxilan pull away, biting down on his lip. His ears twitched from that bite, betraying how much he enjoyed that gesture. Silver gaze remained locked with emeralds as Jaikus drew away, “Do I have to ask nicely?” He asked quietly, his voice almost a low growl at that point.

His ears reacted once again when he felt Jaikus’ nails dragging along his neck. The simple gesture always sent jolts down his spine, sending a ripple through his entire body. He visibly shifted from the sensation, glancing at Jaikus as his hand traveled further down his torso. Like Emryc, Jaikus had no qualms with touching him however he pleased. The half sephi exhaled sharply as the Axxilan ventured wherever and however he pleased, the actions making him weak at once. He looked at Jaikus then, watching the way the other man bit his lip. His heart was thundering against his chest, his eyes and body betraying exactly what the impact was.

All thoughts of the Senate were completely forgotten. The fan club was forgotten, the crowds were forgotten, the critical meeting coming up in a few days didn’t matter a single bit. He could only focus on his partner and all the ways the man set him ablaze. Emryc exhaled again, his own hand quickly unzipping Jaikus’ pants enough to return the favor. The half Sephi closed the distance, capturing the man’s lips with his own and pressing their bodies together and moving however he pleased. He was unapologetic about the hungry way he kissed the other man, pulling away only enough to bite and nibble on his lip almost hard enough to leave a mark.

He was visibly surprised when Jaikus pulled back entirely, grasping him by the shoulders. Emryc was pushed back, his hands pressed against the wall on his sides. It was a gesture he wasn’t used to, almost all of his lovers in the past having been almost exclusively submissive or docile. There was a yellow glint in his eye, and there was a pulse in the Force that Jaikus would feel as Emryc’s fingers curled into fists. However, the fingers relaxed soon enough, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he stared at the Axxilan. He was completely caught by surprise, still not used to having a partner that wasn’t afraid to take charge.

Emryc relaxed entirely as Jaikus continued, watching the other man as he descended. What followed next made him feel entirely weak, almost making him collapse as his head tilted back. His fingers traveled to clutch the Axxilan’s hair, digging into the curls as he gave into the other man, putting himself entirely at Jaikus’ mercy.

However, Jaikus knew exactly what he had unlocked, the yellow glint had been evidence enough. It wasn’t long before they ended up in his bedroom. It was a custom bed generally designed for wookiees, giving them ample room to roll around and do whatever they pleased. By the end of it, Emryc was entirely sans clothing. Jaikus, however, had multiple layers on and there had been a sense of urgency. As a result, his pants and vest were off, but the white dress shirt was still on, albeit unbuttoned and halfway off his shoulders.

Both were drenched in sweat and Emryc didn’t move for a moment. However, he eventually rolled over to reach down and unbind Jaikus’ wrists which were bound behind his back. It just so happened to be a very expensive necktie that Emryc would actually be wearing to the galactic senate session. Emryc undid the very complicated and tight knot he did, blinking down at the redness in the Axxilan’s skin after he pulled it away. It was the first time the half Sephi had indulged the parts of himself with Jaiku that were unlocked after a great deal of trust on both sides. It meant that Emryc knew how to read his partner to pick up on cues and act accordingly while still pushing boundaries. It was a glimpse of Raze in a strictly controlled setting.

The half Sephi leaned down to kiss against the back of Jaikus shoulder, tasting the salty skin, “I’ll be extra nice at dinner to make up for my behavior earlier,” He softly murmured with a grin, closing his eyes as he exhaled against his skin.

A few moments had passed, and Jaikus made no attempt to shift from where he was laying on the bed. His chest rose and fell with heavy breathes, heart still pounding in his chest. He was drenched in sweat just like his partner, glistening against his bronze-tinted skin and soaking into whatever layers he still wore.

Jaikus finally glanced back over his shoulder when Emryc shifted, moving in to undoing the complicated knot that kept his wrists bound. He couldn’t help but flash his partner a smirk at that moment, emeralds fixating onto the half-Sephi for a few seconds. He didn’t seem to mind the redness against his skin, and even after the fabric was removed the Axxilan kept his wrists positioned behind his back, teasing arching his back ever-so-slightly back towards his partner.

The Axxilan let out a soft noise when Emryc leaned in, planting light kisses along his bare shoulder. The little gesture immediately sent jolts across his body, eliciting goosebumps across the exposed skin. “Will you now?” Jaikus muttered softly, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of his lips. “I quite liked your earlier behavior.” He grinned a bit wider. Over the course of all the time spent together, the pair had developed an immense amount of trust in one another. It meant that Jaikus was entirely comfortable exploring and pushing beyond existing boundaries, relishing every moment as they did so.

It was a side of his partner that Jaikus hadn’t seen before, in that moment putting himself entirely at the half-Sephi’s mercy. Nevertheless, every reaction from Axxilan – be it the way his body shifted or sounds that he made throughout - served to encourage Emryc the entire way.

Jaikus finally shifted his hands, planting them down onto the mattress before spinning around – turning to face the half-Sephi hovering above him. He said nothing at first, simply taking a moment to stare up at the man – emerald eyes traveling and wandering as he pleased. Even now, it was clear that the Axxilan could never get enough of his partner – taking his time to relish the sight of every inch of the man.

“I want to see you wear it,” He muttered, gesturing to the necktie that had only just been used on his wrists. Be it at the Senate, or some press conference in front of the galaxy, there was something unmistakably alluring about the half-Sephi wearing the necktie now, considering how it had been used only moments ago.

For only a moment, Jaikus allowed his gaze to settle upon Emryc’s remaining injuries from Dantooine – a frown very briefly manifesting on his features. He knew that the half-Sephi would recover completely with time, but even still, the sight of his partner wounded send a familiar pain deep into the Axxilan’s chest. He only allowed his eyes to linger there for a few moments before flicking back to those familiar silvers.

With that, Jaikus finally leaned up to capture the half-Sephi’s lips – arms lifting to wrap around the back of Emryc’s neck, lightly grazing his nails in the way he knew his partner enjoyed. Emerald eyes were filled with adoration and tenderness at that moment, a tender smile spreading wide across his face. “I really did miss you,” He muttered softly against those lips, pressing his forehead against the half-Sephi’s.

Emryc opened his eyes to gaze down at his partner, noting how he kept his hands right where they were. The subtle arch of his back caught his attention, his eyes roaming down the perfect curve of his back and below where he saw the sheen of bronze skin. The half Sephi’s hand traced lightly down Jaikus’ back, trailing lazily over his skin and the curves there when he arrived. His thought were elsewhere, but the Axxilan would feel the tenderness in his touch and feel the warmth that lingered in his normally frosty demeanor.

He paused as Jaikus finally turned around to face him, silvers gazing down at those warm emeralds. Emryc couldn’t help but grin as he caught the Axxilan drinking in sight of him, his much larger and muscled frame hovering above the lithe man. For a moment, he simply admired the man below him and the way the tight dress shirt clung to his skin, teasingly falling off his shoulders and revealing his chest. Combined with the messy hair and the satisfied look on his face, it was almost enough to rile Emryc up all over again. His gaze followed Jaikus’ when he mentioned he wanted Emryc to wear the tie. A grin graced his face then.

“Not only will I wear it,” He muttered in that low baritone as he leaned down to trace feathery kisses along the side of Jaikus’ face, “But you’ll see me wearing it live on every intergalactic news channel and see it pictured in every major news literature.”

Emryc paused to kiss Jaikus when he leaned up, melting against the other man and sinking into the bed against his warmth. It was his favorite place to be, and he took his time there, savoring these moments whenever he got them. Every moment with the other man was precious to him, because they always had to part ways in the end. For far too long.

The half Sephi’s deep voice groaned in a low rumble in satisfaction from the nails raking against his skin. He looked down at Jaikus, his ears shifting in reaction to the warm affection he saw in his partner’s face. The half Sephi’s own face was far too stoic to express the same, but his eyes often betrayed him in the way they lacked their usual ice.

Emryc couldn’t help but grin at Jaikus’ words, “Oh? Did you miss me or did you miss my-” His dirty joke was cut off when his comlink began to beep. The half Sephi rolled onto his back, taking Jaikus with him so the man rolled with him to plop down on his abdomen. Emryc pulled his comlink to himself with the Force, grimacing slightly before he answered it.

“What?”

“The King of Onderon would like to invite you to the opening ceremony of holiday festivities tonight.”

“I’m busy.”

“Mr. President, this is-”

“Make something up, Aila, I certainly pay you the crowns for it.”

Emryc clicked off the comlink and tossed it aside, looking back up at his partner. His hands lazily traveled along his legs to rest against his hips. He eyed the Axxilan quietly for a moment and his state of attire. He reached for the tie and very loosely tied it around Jaikus’ neck before laying back on the bed. For a while he said nothing, simply admiring the other man in silence from this position.

“Fuck you are sexy,” He muttered abruptly after a while, having nothing more profound or deep to say outside of that.

Jaikus couldn’t help the bright flush of red that spread across his cheeks at that moment, emerald eyes fixated upon his partner. A soft groan escaping from his lips when Emryc leaned, whispering against his ear while tracing feathery kisses against bronze skin. The thought of his partner wearing that tie before the entire galaxy brought a renewed heat to the Axxilan’s body, his fingers involuntarily curling into the mattress. His mind wandered shamelessly in that moment, nearly enough to get the Axxilan going once again.

Instead, Jaikus leaned up and pressed against the half-Sephi’s lips, melting into that familiar embrace. Just as always did, the Axxilan savored the taste of his partner and the familiar warmth of his body, filling him with a sense of comfort like nothing else could. It was a sensation that Jaikus had come to crave, and it made the thought of having to separate beyond excruciating.

In that moment, the rest of the galaxy seemed so distant and unimportant. Everything outside of the hotel room seemed to fade into the background, and there was no desire from Jaikus to do anything other than be with the man he loved. To cherish every waking second with him. It was a love and affection that had grown in the months spent together, and it was a feeling that was portrayed clearly in those warm emeralds.

His eyes grew a bit wider, and a familiar redness tinged his cheeks, when Emryc started to make his dirty joke – only to be cut off by the beeping of a commlink. The Axxilan couldn’t help but let out a series of giggles when Emryc abruptly rolled them over, his familiar snorts briefly filling the bedroom as he settled on the half-Sephi’s abdomen. Even now, Jaikus was conscious of the half-Sephi’s injuries, ensuring that his weight did not press down anywhere that would cause his partner discomfort.

The Axxilan was silent through the entire exchange with Emryc and his aide, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. There was something unmistakable warm about the way Emryc dismissed the invitation, brushing aside galactic leaders and royalty to remain exactly as they were. Jaikus waited until the commlink was clicked off and tossed aside before he spoke again, his smile tugging a bit wider.

“I missed every part of you,” He replied smoothly, not so much as missing a beat in answering the half-Sephi’s dirty joke from before – desire and tenderness lacing his words in equal parts. Jaikus watched as Emryc reached for the tie, leaving it loosely looped around the Axxilan’s neck.

Jaikus clearly noted the way that Emryc stared up and admired him, taking in sight of him perched as he was. In response, the Axxilan languidly rolled his shoulders, allowing the button-up to slip just a touch lower on his torso – bunching around the middle of his bicep while exposing his shoulders and toned chest. He brought a hand up from his sides, curling his fingers around that expensive necktie. He pulled the fabric a bit tighter around his neck, taunt against his skin as he tugged it downward. At the same time, he leaned down, hovering mere inches above Emryc’s face. “Talk like that, and I’ll never let you make it out of this room,” He whispered, emerald eyes glinting down at his partner.

He leaned in to capture the half-Sephi’s lips once more, lingering there for a few seconds before speaking again. “And we’re finally on a planet without AMS or deadly temples. So maybe now I can take my sexy partner on a proper date.” He smiled, reaching up to wrap his arms around the half-Sephi’s torso.

Emryc couldn’t help but stare at Jaikus with a comically stunned expression. His gaze followed the way the shirt casually slipped off his shoulders, revealing more of his chest and pronounced collarbones. The half Sephi grinned as Jaikus tightened the tie, reaching over to grasp it. He twirled it around his fingers as Jaikus had with the hoodie string, tugging the other man down close. Emryc captured his lips, his hand traveling down the Axxilan’s hip and below, grasping however he pleased.

The half Sephi rolled over again, pinning the other man down on the bed below him. It was clear Emryc was in no rush just then, wanting to savor every moment with the man he loved and cherished.

--

It was a few hours later when it was still early evening. Emryc was seated on the couch in front of a Holoscreen, already dressed and ready. He opted for a classic, yet casual look instead of his usual formal. Besides, he knew his partner enjoyed it when Emryc wore more form fitting clothes. Every now and then he checked his chrono before rolling his eyes. The half Sephi was a patient man, but Jaikus often put that to the test. Currently, the Axxilan was taking all the time in the world getting dressed. The two men had already delayed things in the shower, and Emryc promptly got ready afterwards only to find himself alone in that endeavor.

The half Sephi was watching a news report on the upcoming senate session and briefings on the arrival of the galactic leaders. They played clips of past addresses they made. Currently it was playing a Holonet address Emryc made, and he was watching himself brief on the economical advancements in the ISC and how it was rapidly becoming a self sustaining ecosystem.

Even there he could see the crowds behind himself holding up “I love Emryc” signs, some wearing those absurd ear headbands. His eyes narrowed slightly as he leaned forward to look at a giant, muscly Trandoshan man in a very tiny crop top with a giant heart with Emryc’s name in the center. The half Sephi appeared small compared to this behemoth of a Trandoshan. Emryc shook his head before next eyeing the other faces in the crowds.

“Babe, you look great, come on,” Emryc called out without looking away from the screen. He checked his chrono, sighing as he sank deeper into his seat. He was almost considering changing back into his hoodie and sweatpants.

A few hours had passed, and Jaikus was still in the process of getting dressed for their night out. The pair had certainly taken their time to getting out of the bedroom, and delayed even further when they reached the shower. And now, Jaikus continued his infamous trend of taking a century before he was satisfied with how he looked. Even back at that hotel on Keldooine, the Axxilan had taken an obscene amount of time to shower and get dressed before knocking on Emryc’s door.

In addition to the half-an-hour he spent working up the courage to do so in the first place.

“Alright, alright,” He called back from the bathroom, a faint groan echoing through the hallway. While the Axxilan had spent close to an hour preening, the cause for his current delay was something far more irritating. While Jaikus normally straightened and wore an abundance of product in his hair, he had recently taken to sporting his natural curls around the half-Sephi.

Naturally, this made attempting to style his locks far more difficult. There was one twisting strand of hair that simply wouldn’t remain in place regardless of what he did – springing up and sticking randomly out of place, much to Jaikus’ immense dismay. After several more minutes of futile attempts, Jaikus finally glanced down at his chrono, reminding himself of the time that had passed.

With a huff, Jaikus left the rebellious curl where it stood and finished getting dressed – buttoning up his shirt and spritzing his torso with his usual cologne. After a few additional moments in the mirror, the Axxilan finally made his way back into the living room of the suite, spotting Emryc on the couch.

“How do I look?” He called out to his partner, a faint smile brushing against his lips. While their earlier escapades had left the Axxilan’s suit-vest sufficiently wrinkled, luckily his luggage had been brought up to the room at one point or another, allowing him to change into something fresh. He wore a pair of dark dress pants and v-neck, white button-up – cut low to reveal the upper portion of the man’s toned chest. He accessorized with those dorky glasses and usual chrono and bracelet, alongside a thin gold chain that hung around his neck and dipped below the collarbone.

His eyes briefly flicked over to the HoloScreen, catching sight of the crop-top wearing Trandoshan. He blinked a few times, tilting his head to the side when he caught side of the absurd ear headband. Not only were they entirely inaccurate to his partner’s actual ears, but they caught Jaikus’ attention because he had seen quite literally dozens of them outside their hotel.

Jaikus shook his head, brushing that thought aside before allowing his gaze to truly settle upon Emryc, taking a moment to admire the half-Sephi’s attire. Emerald eyes drank in the sight of the form-fitting shirt, clearly outlining the half-Sephi’s muscular arms and chest. The half-Sephi rarely wore tight clothes, and the sight of it now left an almost dazed, comically dumb look on the Axxilan’s face. He stepped towards the couch, leaning down to plant a kiss against the half-Sephi’s cheek. “You look amazing, babe.” He muttered softly, lingering there for a moment before drawing back.

He extended a hand out to his partner, flashing a toothy smile while jutting his chin towards the door. “Shall we?”

Emryc was practically one with the couch by the time Jaikus walked out. His long legs were stretched out before him and his body was lowered below the backrest, his entire torso sinking into the couch with him almost sliding off. His eyes were slightly glazed over as if he were asleep with his eyes open. The half Sephi blinked a few times before straightening up, taking a moment to eye the other man. While Emryc seldom wore form fitting clothing, Jaikus had no qualms with wearing attire that appeared as if it were painted on. The half Sephi’s gaze lingered far longer than necessary, shamelessly drinking in sight of the exposed top of his defined chest.

“Stunning at any time of day,” Emryc repeated, a genuine smile gracing his face. However, he paused for a moment, gesturing with his finger for Jaikus to turn around. Once he did, the half Sephi admired the pants and how they fit around his sculpted rear, “Damn,” He blurted without shame, weighing the pros and cons of simply dragging Jaikus back to bed. However, he decided that the two hadn’t had a chance for an actual date and he wasn’t going to ruin that.

Emryc’s ears twitched and swiveled slightly when Jaikus leaned in to kiss his cheek, the action always involuntary and far more adorable than the stoic half Sephi would ever do on purpose. He finally rose to stand, holding his arm out for Jaikus to grasp as they made their way out. Right away, Jaikus would notice combat droids flanking them the entire way down the hallway as they were led to a maintenance repulsorlift. Emryc was too high profile to go out any main routes without being swarmed.

The two men took the long way around, exiting into a garage where a sleek, luxury black speeder was waiting for them. Emryc walked ahead and opened the door for Jaikus, waiting till he was in before closing it and walking around. As soon as the speeder began to exit, the Axxilan would get his first taste of how obsessive some of the fans were. While this was a discreet path they were taking and the windows were entirely tinted, there were crowds still gathered on this side.

Fans attempted to press against the windows to peer in, though they could see nothing. There were droves of people with Emryc shirts and hats. At some point, Jaikus would look over to see a woman lift her shirt and press her bare chest directly against the window right next to his face while loudly proclaiming her love for Emryc. The speeder slowly made its way through the mob, guard droids outside walking alongside the speeder to shove people back and clear the path.

Emryc appeared entirely unfazed by this. He was seated quite casually, his datapad on his lap as he played a round of Qwent. There were faces against the window next to him and people were pounding on it with their hands, their muffled yelling still audible. The half Sephi appeared entirely removed from the situation, calmly playing his game. He glanced up only when he was waiting for his game opponent to take a turn.

“You all right babe?” He asked quietly, looking at his partner next to him.

Jaikus couldn’t help but smile at that moment, that familiar tinge of red brushing against cheeks and spreading across his bronze skin. The Axxilan immediately recognized that remark all the way back on the medina on Tattooine, and the utterance of it now caused his heart to pound just a little bit faster in his chest. That night on Tattooine felt so long ago, and it remained one of the most precious memories that the Axxilan carried with him.

The Axxilan couldn’t help but grin, watching as Emryc made his little finger gesture for him to turn around. As expected, Jaikus placed his hands on his hips and slowly spun around, giving the half-Sephi a view from the other side. He immediately glanced back over his shoulder, very much debating just how much he wanted to go out verus pouncing on his partner again. This was their first opportunity to go out together properly, however, to the former option eventually won out.

He hooked his arm around Emryc, tugging the half-Sephi close as they began to walk towards the hallway. That bright, characteristic smile lingered on the Axxilan’s face for a long while after that - the adorable swivel movements of his partner’s ears always seeming to make Jaikus brighten up with delight. As soon as they reached the hallway, however, Jaikus’ attention was drawn to the squadron of combat droids that lined the corridor, leading to the maintenance repulsorlift.
“A bit much, don’t you think?”

He grinned up at his partner, playfully tugging him closer as they loaded into the elevator. It really was a miracle that Jaikus had managed to evade the half-Sephi’s security team twice in the past.

The pair finally reached the garage and the sleek black speeder which would serve as their vehicle for the night. Jaikus glanced back, smiling warmly as Emryc went through the effort to open his door - just as the man had done back on Keldooine. Seated within the backseat as the transport pulled out, the Axxilan quickly realized the guards were not, in fact, overkill.

He couldn’t help the way his eyes widened significantly, watching as crazed fits waved signs and screamed at the tops of their lungs - pushing against the guard droids and pounding the windows. Jaikus immediately turned away from the window when the woman exposed herself, fixating his emerald eyes ahead for several long seconds.

Despite his noble upbringing, Jaikus operated relatively under the radar by choice. The nature of his work with the Sith required subtly, and the Axxilan was never the type of individual to actively seek out fame and glory. This was the first time he’d seen the fan club up close, and the sudden attention - even if it wasn’t directed at him - was almost overwhelming.

Perhaps the only thing that kept him grounded was the man to his left. Without saying anything, Jaikus instinctively reached over, gripping onto the Half-Sephi’s wrist - clinging to him for some support.

When Emryc spoke, Jaikus flicked his gaze from the window - settling upon the man he loved. There was a look of genuine concern etched across his face at that moment, Scootiing himself a bit closer to Emryc. “This is what you have to deal with regularly?” He frowned a bit, only now understanding the gravity and fanatical beliefs of the fan club. "Doesn't it ever bother you?"

From there, Jaikus hooked his arm around the half-Sephi’s bicep, tugging him a bit closer while laying his head against the man’s shoulders. His attention was eventually drawn to the datapad in Emryc’s lap. Even if he didnt’ know jack shit about the game, he knew it was something his partner enjoyed.

“Sooo,” He began, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips. “You gettin’ your ass handed to you yet?”

Emryc felt Jaikus grasp his wrist, and he looked up from his game. He saw the look of concern, and it made his own expression soften in turn. The half Sephi couldn’t help but allow a half grin to grace his face, “Do you know me to be riled easily?” He asked quietly, leaning in to touch their foreheads together, “Only bothers me if it bothers you, babe,” Emryc murmured softly before drawing back.

The half Sephi looked down at his datapad as Jaikus leaned in close, resting his head on Emryc’s shoulder. Emryc turned his head to gently kiss against the tousled curls before looking at his game, slanting his head slightly to rest against the top of Jaikus’, “I happen to be winning, thank you,” He said with a rather snooty tone. For a while, no words were said, and they sat there in comfortable silence. Contrary to what he confidently stated, Emryc ended up losing the game and Jaikus would see “YOU LOSE” in big red letters flash across the datapad.

By then the speeder arrived and Emryc put his game away. As before, the half Sephi walked around to open the door for Jaikus, waving off the driver that had attempted to do so instead. They arrived at a location deep within the jungle where they would have to walk for a short distance. Jaikus would see they were surrounded on all sides by deep forests and waterfalls. Their path led up ramps that led to pods suspended high in the air that overlooked the natural beauty of Onderon’s jungles.

A private man by nature, Emryc had arranged for a setting that allowed them privacy while also providing a stunning view and natural ambient noises. The two were led to their own pod, where they would have their own dedicated droid server. The half Sephi had particularly arranged for a droid to avoid any distracting fangirling.

The same couldn’t be said for the host, however. As soon as the men arrived, the Pantoran woman began to blush furiously, immediately flustered upon spotting Emryc. She kept glancing over at Jaikus, drilling holes into him with her eyes. Once they walked away, Jaikus would notice she was rapidly typing away on her datapad. There was a familiar ding that was the sound of a chime on that obnoxious ThorneWatch app to flag where Emryc was spotted.

Emryc, of course, was delightfully oblivious to all this. He took in sight of all the sights around them, the sun hovering low, allowing them an hour or so to watch the beautiful sunset from their vantage point.

The half Sephi pulled out Jaikus’ seat for him before walking around to sit down across from him. Emryc grinned at his partner across the table, “You know, I was envisioning all of this happening well before you angrily dragged me away from that goat shit covered tent to have your way with me,” The half Sephi’s grin grew wider before he unexpectedly began to chuckle a little at the memory. The chuckle only amplified more and into a laugh when he realized that was his opening line first thing upon arriving at their romantic date.

Jaikus stared up at Emryc for a few seconds, seeming to get lost in those familiar silver eyes. He clearly noted the way the half-Sephi’s expression softened and the grin that spread across his face, and it was enough to elicit a soft smile from the Axxilan. He could not deny feeling caught off-guard and somewhat overwhelmed by the sudden flock of fanclub members, Jaikus couldn’t deny the way that Emryc seamlessly put him at ease. He closed his eyes for a moment when the half-Sephi pressed their foreheads together, leaning into that familiar show of affection.

“Not when I’m with you,” He muttered quietly.

With that, Jaikus comfortably finally rested his head against Emryc’s shoulder, letting out a content little hum when the half-Sephi planted a kiss to his curly locks and leaned against him. He couldn’t help but smirk at the snooty edge to his partner’s voice, emerald eyes flicking up to the man before turning back to the game. “Mmmhmm.” He said smugly before fixating his attention onto the game. There were no words spoken for a while, and Jaikus instead filled the time by simply cherishing the closeness and watching his partner play.

Naturally, Jaikus couldn’t help but lift his head, turning to face his partner when the large “YOU LOSE” flashed across the datapad. The Axxilan didn’t say anything – because the insufferably smug, shit-eating smirk on his face spoke volumes all its own. He playfully nudged the half-Sephi in the ribs just as the speeder came to a halt.

The Axxilan stepped out into the fresh air, smiling up at his partner when Emryc once again opened the door for him. “Ever the gentleman,” He said with a smirk, reiterating his words from back at that resort. He took a moment to take his surroundings, emerald eyes flicking between the lush jungle, air filled with the gentle flow of waterfalls. Despite his urban upbringing, the Axxilan had come to appreciated the natural landscapes during his adventures with Emryc.

He followed the half-Sephi up to the tree-top restaurant, ascending the wooden ramp up to the entrance. The central portion of restaurant was built amongst the branches and limbs of the jungle terrain – towering high above the forested floor below – while separate walkways branched off that led towards individual, private pods. While not packed to the brim, the restaurant was nevertheless filled with many of the galactic elites – Onderonian nobles and wealthy foreigners alike occupying some of the pods, while other had made their way towards the small dancefloor in the corner of the restaurant – the air filled with slow, gentle music.

For the first few minutes, Jaikus was simply taking in the views all around him – emerald eyes scanning across the room. Only after a few additional seconds did his eyes fall upon the Pantoran host, the woman shifting between staring at Emryc to looking at Jaikus like he kicked her puppy. He blinked a few times in response but otherwise said nothing, not seeming to pay the woman’s scorn much mind.

Nevertheless, the sound of the ThorneWatch app immediately caused Jaikus’ head to snap back at the Pantoran, emerald eyes narrowing exceptionally harshly upon the Pantoran host for a few seconds. Jaikus had learned about the app not long ago, and was still doing mental gymnastics to figure out how the damn thing wasn't illegal. With that ping sent out, the Axxilan was convinced that there would be a horde of gushing fangirls swinging through the jungle branches within the hour.

He simply shook his head, turning his attention back to the private pod that Emryc had took – giving them a perfect view of the setting sun and the roaring waterfall ahead of them. His eyes wandered for a moment before flicking back to his partner.

“Best view in the galaxy,” He declared proudly, emerald eyes settled upon the half-Sephi. Even with all the beauty and breathtaking landscapes that surrounded them, the way he looked made it very clear that Jaikus wasn’t referring to their surroundings.

The Axxilan grinned ever-so-slightly when Emryc pulled out his seat – once more proving himself the gentleman for the third time since they left the hotel. Without a second thought, Jaikus abruptly grabbed Emryc by the wrist and stole a quick kiss on the cheek before sitting down.

As soon as Emryc spoke, Jaikus couldn’t help but grin at those first words. His smile only tugged wider, filled with warmth, when the half-Sephi devolved into his laughter – a sound that always seemed to fill the Axxilan with an overwhelming sense of delight. Within seconds, Jaikus too devolved into his characteristic fit of giggles and snorts, wheezing for air when he finally ran out of breath.

After several seconds, Jaikus finally regained control of himself enough to speak. “Well I happen to think that lake was a very romantic setting, thank you very much.” He huffed, though the wide smile and attempt at stifled laughter completely dashed any attempt at being snooty. “A night under the stars, the fragrance of goat-shit in the air..” He chewed on his lip, trying exceptionally hard to keep it all together. “Rolling around in the mud, and the single mosquito bite on your sculpted asscheek. What could be more romantic than that?”

He giggled for a few moments more before finally picking up the menu infront of him. While Jaikus wasn’t usually a picky eater – when MRE’s weren’t involved – he knew his partner’s habits well enough. Thus, emerald eyes methodically flicked between the menu options until he arrived on decent assortment of vegan options that were safe for his partner. Only then did Jaikus actually take a moment to search for himself – just as the server droid arrived.

“I’ll take.. The honeyed duck breast and a salad on the side. And a bottle of champagne for the table.” He said politely, handing his menu off to the droid while Emryc ordered. Only once the droid left did Jaikus turn his attention back to his partner, shaking his head. “I’m still not convinced that damn thing was even a goat – not with the way it consistently vanished and reappeared out of thin air.” He shook his head.

“Though come to think of it, considering that was a Rakata temple, it isn’t out of the question that Mr. Goat could’ve been some kind of Force apparition that had been left behind..” For the next couple minutes, Jaikus began to make very detailed, thorough points about the unnatural nature of Mr. Goat, finally giving voice to his suspicions from back on that planet.

Jaikus blinked a few times after a solid thee minutes , finally catching himself rambling. While the Axxilan frequently spiraled into his analytical trains of thought, he rarely vocalized them aloud. Entirely comfortable around his partner, Jaikus hadn’t even thought twice before he started blabbering on. This, of course, was right as the droid returned with their bottle of champagne and two glasses.

Wait,” Jaikus abruptly rose from his seat, gesturing for the droid to hand over the bottle. “Let me,” He flashed his partner a confident smirk as he took the bottle in hand, clearly meaning to open the bottle and pour for his partner personally.

Unfortunately, the Axxilan was far too busy staring at his partner to be paying attention to what he was doing – a bit too careless with how he shook the bottle while opening it. The wooden cork popped free with a loud release after some pressure from Jaikus’ thumbs, and light white mist drifted up from the top of the bottle - followed immediately by a stream of agitated champagne that blew like a fountain.

Just as Jaikus was pointing it towards his own face.

There was a comically stupid look on the Axxilan’s face as he was blasted with the bubbly alcohol, completely drenching his face and causing his tousled curls to hang down wet in front of his eyes. Mercifully, the Axxilan’s nice shirt had largely been spared from the assault of beverage, and it was only due to the privacy of their pod that his failure wasn’t witnessed by every noble and galactic elite in the restaurant.

There was a clear flush of red against the Axxilan’s cheeks, embarrassment clear on his expression as he stood there. After blinking a few times, Jaikus nevertheless leaned forward and pathetically poured the remaining half of the bottle into his and Emryc’s own glass before settling back into his seat.

Emryc had been looking off to the side when Jaikus marveled at the view. He was about to mention something, glancing back at his partner only to catch him staring at him instead. The half Sephi’s ears swiveled slightly though his face only betrayed a half grin.

Emryc’s laugh only amplified when Jaikus began his own giggles and those infamous snorts. It was clear that the half Sephi would always find those ridiculous snorts endearing no matter what. He finally winded down from the laugh, though the smile remained on his face. Emryc looked at Jaikus as he theatrically rattled off the incidents that fateful day. The half Sephi coughed a few times at the mention of that mosquito bite, “I had the worst time trying not to itch that and look like an uncivilized fuck in front of you,” He began to laugh again, pausing for a moment to look fondly at his partner.

The half Sephi focused his attention on the menu after that, “I’ll take the roasted eggplant,” He said simply, genuinely thrilled about spotting a wide array of vegan options, “And a gin with a spritz of lemon,” He could only stand sweet drinks like champagne in low quantities due to the sugary taste.

Emryc began to nod, “Yeah the goat was-” He paused, his eyes narrowed to slits, “It was a Kiliki temple, babe. Just give it up, we literally found a bug mound,” He couldn’t help but grin, “Thought you’d slip that in and I wouldn’t notice, you bastard,” Emryc shook his head, finding the attempt genuinely admirable. It was almost on par with his skills at cheating at board games.

Emryc was going to reach for the bottle but Jaikus volunteered. The half Sephi remained seated, watching as the Axxilan shook the bottle a bit too much, staring at him. Except Emryc was watching the bottle instead, vaguely wondering what was going to come next. He looked up as the cork all but shot off, miraculously missing Jaikus’ forehead. The champagne sprayed out towards his partner’s face, completely drenching it as he looked mortified.

It was a testament to Emryc’s self control that he simply sat there with his usual stoic face. However, he rose from his seat as Jaikus stood there in stunned silence and embarrassment. Without a word, Emryc met Jaikus' gaze, reached his hand out towards the bottle and smeared some of the champagne on his own face. He kept a straight face for a moment before he broke out into a smile, knowing Jaikus would do the same. Emryc leaned forward to steal a quick, champagne smeared face kiss before grabbing a cloth napkin to wipe both of them off.

The half Sephi sat back down to let Jaikus finish pouring, not saying a single word about the incident. Emryc clinked his glass against his partner’s before taking a sip, “You never did tell me what happened on Telos,” Jaikus had been panicking about Dantooine and Emryc’s injuries and the two had missed touching on the topic at all.

“I thought you had no intentions of ever going back there.”
