Kegari stayed in between the trees and tried her best to keep a low profile, along with Isen. That was until she heard her commlink sound. It was Byron. Perhaps he found the crystals or at least the way to them. She put the commlink to her ear and heard him speak.

"They've got kyber crystals. In at least one off those crates. I don't know how much but it felt strong. Do you guys have the ability to take these guys down without hurting them?" Kegari heard him say through the commlink. Kegari supposed she could, after all she is a survivor. She quickly grabbed her blaster and placed it on stun mode. The blaster bolt would only stun the recipient without killing them. It was almost like a tranquilizer shot. Deep sedation. Not Death would be the end result. Kegari put her commlink to her mouth to reply to Byron. “Of course I can. I didn’t survive in the jungle all these years if I couldn’t ”. Kegari replies although it could all go terribly wrong. She wasn’t sure what Isen would have to say about it but Kegari was ready to get her crystal.

She gathered all her energy and prepared to take on whatever creature was on the other side. She closed her eyes and allowed the Force to guide her way. While trying to remain hidden she made her way toward the docking bay without making herself known. She then heard footsteps on the surface floor Oh Kriff you really screwed up this time, Kegari. Kegari thought to herself as she looked at the Rodian creature speaking in a language she didn’t know. She tried her best at the Jedi mind trick although she wasn’t very sure how well this would go over. She had hoped that she wouldn’t need to use her blaster.

“There is no need for you here”. Kegari added while waving her hand before him. “There is no need for me here”. The Rodian replies back. It worked! She was relived “You are needed elsewhere”. Kegari added while waving her hand before him. “I am needed elsewhere”. The Rodian replies as he walked away from the crate. Phew! Kegari thought to herself as she saw the crate.

Thalia grinned with curiosity as he informed her he had something to show that he had learned. She hoped it was a Jedi trick, something that could be just as purposeful as some of the other tricks she had been developing with her abilities. Taking a long drink, Thalia could feel the waves of the Force reverberate from Byron to elsewhere in the tavern. She closed her eyes for a brief moment and then took her gaze elsewhere, she could tell Byron and the others possibly found something, but the Ranger stayed put, keeping her eyes on those inside to ensure they weren't taking too much of a notice of the Jedi padawans.

While the others searched around on the landing pads, Thalia eventually left the bar with her half glass of whiskey, more so to find a place where she did not need to worry about her back to the door. She could feel eyes on her as she moved to a table on the opposite side of the pub, though was caught by a twi'lek as he cleared his throat. He was a striking sapphire blue, though the scars and the weathered spacers clothing told the blonde he had been through a rough time. His pointed teeth flashed and there was a cold whisper that made the woman pause. She could not tell if he vocalized it or had felt it in the Force, but either way he had her attention and she sat down, entertaining her curiosity and his intentions.

"Do you guys have the ability to take these guys down without hurting them?" Isen heard Byron say over his commlink. Take them down without hurting them? That's a tall order, Isen thought to himself. I mean, he could probably take them down without injuring them, but whatever he did, it was likely to hurt. Isen contemplated the question, and while doing so he looked up to see Kegari weaving her way toward the landing pad. Isen thought he was impulsive. She just took off toward the landing zone like she was supposed to be there. Isen sighed and started to follow her, his hand instinctively went to where his lightsabers would be, but his only grasped the fusioncutter lended to him earlier as he saw Kegari interact with a Rodian. Isen, confused, stood a little taller as he watched the Rodian speaking mindlessly and ambling away. But he stood too tall, and was surprised by an Artiodac that was taking a break from loading and unloading.

"Who are you?" the massive Artiodac asked Isen. "This is a private loading station." Isen kept eye contact, but saw the huge hand dropping behind his back. Blaster, fusioncutter, something was back there and it wasn't going to be welcoming.

"I work out of Bay XH2," Isen said. "Was told you guys need help with a power coupler. I was called to work on it."

"What kind of story is that? Power coupler? We got fifteen guys around here that can fix a power coupler."

Isen shrugged. "Yeah, but you don't have fifteen guys that can fit through the ventilation ring to get to it is what I was told." Isen finally broke eye contact and looked toward the landing zone. He could feel something drawing him near. He sensed it was not just a kyber crystal, but one that was meant for him. He looked back at the Artiodac who now had a fusioncutter in his grasp. This could go downhiill quickly. "I was told it was urgent that whoever was here at this landing bay wanted to load and unload in a hurry and get back into the dark of space. But, hey, I'm just a fifteen year old kid getting paid by the hour. You tell 'em why the power coupler isn't fixed when they try to leave. I'll be up the hill getting a caf, running the clock and piling up the charges that your boss will have to pay. You explain that." Isen started walking back toward the forest toward the cantina.

"Wait a minute!"
Isen turned around and the the large, brown figure breathed deeply. "Fine. Get down there and get to work. But don't look at anything and don't touch nothing but that coupler!"

Isen nodded and made his way past the brute. "You got it."

Isen looked over his shoulder once as he continued toward the landing bay. This definitely could complicate things, but the Artiodac didn't seem to be overly concerned. He had already sat back down and was continuing his lunch break meal. Isen quickly made his way to Kegari who was standing over a case. He could sense what was inside, but it wasn't what was pulling specifically to him. There was another case with a Kyber that was calling to him through the Force. Definitely at least two cases with cyrstals. It was frustrating, and Isen chided himself inside for not honing skills other than his martial abilities. He should be able to tell exactly where that blasted case is. He lifted his wrist up to his mouth. "Kegari found a case that has crystals. We're right on top of it. There is at least another one somewhere, Byron. It's...it's between us and you."

Kegari stood by the crates as she saw Isen approach another member of the crew on the docking bay. What was he doing? Kegari thought to herself as she looked around. Suddenly two weequays and a twi’lek approached her. Perhaps the Jedi mind trick won’t work on these ones, but still wasn’t going to resort to violence. One of the weequays asked. “And what brings you to the docking bay? there is nothing of interest here at least for you”. The weequay asked. “Oh you know, just soaking up knowledge of the island and the planet. Knowledge is good”. Kegari replies although she sensed that the weequay wasn’t buying her answer. The Twi’lek looks to the weequay and then back to Kegari. “Do you realize that this isn’t the place to just stroll about”? The Twi’lek asked, a Twi’lek that knew Basic, now that’s something you don’t see everyday although he could have learned or picked up the language living here. Kegari looked up to the Twi’lek “I realize that you all are busy and I’m sorry to have disturbed you but I need to get going”. Kegari replies as she stunned both the weequays and the Twi’lek into an deep sedated state with her blaster. It was the only way she was going to get through this mission.

Kegari stares at the crates and then hears a strange sound coming from one of them. It was one of the crystals calling to her through the Force. This is it. My crystal! Kegari exclaimed to herself as she knew that was the sound they would make when a crystal is meant for them.

Now for the real challenge, getting the crate open and retrieving the crystal. She sighed and tried to get the box open by using the Force; however, she wasn’t trained that well to do such things. She’s surprised herself before, so perhaps she will surprise herself yet again.

Kegari concentrates as she focused on the “singing” crate as she tried to open it. The crate began to rattle and shake but it was sealed shut. This would be a good time to have a fusion cutter. Kegari thought to herself as she was struggling to get the box open and in time before the weequay and the Twi’lek get out out of their sedative states.

Byron watched the Rodian and Twi'lek circle the ship with the weequay partners. He then watched what seemed like the most obvious thing to avoid. The Rodian would cross paths with Kegari soon enough but she managed to send him away in another direction. The two weequay and the twi'lek that were with him looked at him confused. More so by the man standing out of the bushes. The pantoran had been keeping her presence hidden and was small, but Isen had been less covert. The Pantoran didn't seem to notice the two weequays nor the twi'lek. Each of them exclamed and drew their blasters. Apparently she was fine engaging only a single enemy when she is outnumbered four to one.

Byron raised his hands and pulled with the force in time to yank the three blaster pistols out of their grasps. His expression a bit amazed at his own speed he was able to accomplish it. But Kegari had put herself in danger and now had no follow up for the mind trick with three more people standing within arms reach of her. He would need to have a word with her after all of this, actually all of them since Isen did nothing and infact just walked out in the open making a B line for the loading ramp of the escort freighter. Kegari called out after him, suddenly forgetting she was still dead center in front of three enemies wondering what phantasmal force had acted on their means of attack.

"Who-" The Artiodac came out in time to get hit by Byron's force flash and he magnified it to make sure the twi'lek and the weequays captain and his bodyguard were blinded as well. It was better than a blaster bolt for the time being. Others closer to the cantina would have heard and this way the criminals that had gone into the bar wouldn't come running back out to reinforce their friends. Byron bolted to close the distance from where he had been hiding successfully up until then. There wasn't much of a point staying hidden. Thalia He spoke specificallhy to the Ranger letting her know with a sensation that he was getting into a harry situation. Maybe she would be able to come out and help if things went in an even worse direction. The Padawan was running towards the loading ramp where two weequay guards and the recent addition of an artiodac were now blinded. If Isen and Kegari had been looking towards the same direction chances were they would have been hit with it just as likely.

Thalia drained the last of her drink from her glass as she thought about the twi'lek's proposal. His smile from earlier had disappeared into his business scowl and though she did not like the price, she was uncertain if she was going to find anything similar like it again. The Ranger reached into her pocket and laid down the credits as the twi'lek handed her the paper. She took it and unfolded it, trying to decipher if it was legit, but she would not have time to make an informed decision as she felt something or more like someone call for her in the Force. Raising her hand from the credits, she tucked her prize into an inner pocket of her jacket and gave a cheeky two fingered salute to the twi'lek who grinned more so for his earnings.

The girl opened herself to the Force, feeling Byron not too far away, there was a discord between the padawans, imbalance in the Force as they pressed for their objective. To which, Thalia had no clue what they were still searching for, only an inkling or brief idea. She zig-zagged through the landing pad, avoiding the low hanging wing turbines when she spotted Bryon running toward a ramp. Her brow furrowed in confusion as to what he was doing, but she decided to follow, feeling the Force reach from her center as she readied to stop any smuggler scum from getting what they wanted today.

Problems were starting to multiply, and no doubt it was due to the Kegari and Isen's rush to get complete the objective. Once again, it seemed like Isen's reputation of acting before thinking had proven well-deserved. Isen's attention turned to Byron as he made himself known and did so with a bang, so to speak. Byron didn't seem to be hiding that he was a Jedi with the Force pulling of blasters. This actually relieved Isen as he figured the Jedi cat was out of the bag. His hands with to his boots where his lightsabers were being stowed away, but before he could wrap his fingers around the hilts, Byron's flash caught Isen unaware. Isen fell behind the shipping container as a shield and tried to shake the blindness off. No way around it, he was going to be going by feel for the next little bit. "I have to learn how to do that," Isen mumbled under his breath.

This is all my fault. Kegari thought to herself as she knew that now that Byron didn’t hide it anymore that he is a Jedi, or worse her and Isen rushing to get their crystals. She felt the pull
of the Force as Byron pulled the blasters out from their hands.

She hoped that the tranquilizer haven’t worn off on the Weequays and the Twi’lek so they could at least get through this mission. Kegari hid behind the crate to make sure that whatever came her way the crate would act as a shield.

She then heard Isen land behind a shipping container and felt a slight bit of relief that he wasn’t injured. She was also dealing with the fact that the Rodian that she mind tricked would eventually return and wonder why her and the others were here.

That same Rodian came back and began inspecting the landing bay.“Oh Kriff” Kegari whispered to herself. “Stay alert, that kriffing Rodian is back”. Kegari whispered to the others through her commlink from behind the crates.

Byron did not grab the blasters that he had pulled. The weapons had simply been yanked out of the twi'lek and weequay's grips and were now probably scattered somewhere around the landing gear of the escort freighter. The padawan's attention was focused on the two weequay guards and Antiroc that were rubbing away the spots in their eyes. Byron knew dissorienting the technique could be. In training he had been subjected to its affects so that he knew the significance of the flashing light.

As he ran up he knew that those back at the cantina could be returning after the sound of the stun bolts from the Pantoran reached them. When he got within striking distance of the two guards he slammed his foot into the back of one's leg making him fall to his knees. The other heard him yelp and turned with his blaster raised at the hip. He fired. Byron brought the matukai gauntlet up. The energy field provided by the gauntlets disperssed the blaster bolt. It was the first time the man had blocked an actually lethal bolt. Until now he had only practiced with his training remote. The padawan's eyes were both wide in fear and shock but quickly brought his other hand around to grip the barrel of the blaster and push it's muzzle away from him while his right hand came up and decked him across the jaw, sending the criminal to the ground and loosening his grip on the blaster.

Byron turned and took the butt of the blaster chucked it at the Antiroc as it fumbled to bring its own blaster from its holster while blind. He stumbled back as several kilograms of stamped durasteel smacked him in the face causing a curse to be uttered. The weequay that Byron had kicked was struggling to get up but Byron moved deeper into the ship since the Antiroc was the biggest threat. Leaping forward he brought both open hands to grip the side of the being's head and focused to use another non-lethal technique he had learned. The dulling of the senses would lead to the Antiroc's body dropping into unconsciousness and sliding a few centimeters down the ramp before the friction stopped him from sliding too much.

At the base of the ramp the last weequay was clearing his vision, not realizing Byron was behind him. Both the unconscious guard and the one trying to find the source of the attack were still visible so when Kegari mentioned the Rodian was back, Byron's hands balled into fists. Isen might still be blinded by his force flash, but Kegari was out there and maybe Thalia too. He didn't want the returning Rodian or Weequays to gang up on them. Byron needed to distract them. It was already clear the two smuggler crews were in league with one another and "Up here you kugly dianoga!" He taunted and then went deeper into the ship. Hopefully they would follow and focus their attention on him instead of the Jedi's comrades.

Kegari stayed on guard as Byron tried his best to ward off enemies while staying hidden away from their views. She didn’t want to do any more damage than there need be. She felt as though she was already in enough trouble her darn impatience.

Keeping her hands on her blaster, still on stun mode she remained on guard and ready to come in whenever it deemed necessary. However, it seemed as though Byron has it under control. Although with the exclusion of Thalia herself they were Jedi Padawans, they were on a mission without the council’s knowledge that alone could mean trouble. But what if we come out of this successfully? Kegari thought to herself as she looked at this from all sides of the spectrum. It could all be a learning experience for us. It could mean crafting a lightsaber, it could mean a promotion for some, or something entirely different.

She kept on hoping that the immediate enemies were gone and we could get to the crates with the crystals and onto the ship. It was only a matter of time before they weequays, Rodians, or Antiroc discovers her, Thalia, or Isen.

Isen couldn't see, but he could still hear. While he had not honed his ability to feel through the Force as he should, he could sense all the members of the party around him. What he didn't hear, or feel, was the ignition of lightsabers. Isen thought the ruse was up and that Byron and Kegari would have put the hammer down by now, but apparently, it could still be sold that they were not Jedi.

Isen got off his butt and got to a crouch, trying to shake the blindness from his eyes. He was still seeing huge blobs of white when he opened his eyes. His vision wouldn't help him in the short term.

He could sense a presence coming to him, but he heard Byron from the opposite direction, "Up here you kugly dianoga!" Isen knew that Byron was trying to lure members of the crew away from him and Kegari, which meant the baddies were close. Isen wrapped his hand around the fusioncutter and felt the presence of someone he couldn't see. Then that someone started barking at him in Rodian, a language that Isen could recognize but not understand. Isen tried to talk calmly to deescalate the confrontation, but the Rodian only started yelling and in a much angrier tone. The voice came closer and closer and through the Force, he could sense that the Rodian was going to strike him, but it was too late and too foggy. He tried to move, but blind, he couldn't get out of the way. The Rodian had some sort of tool, Isen didn't know what, and it struck him on right shoulder, hard, driving him back to his knees. Isen stood, but again, Isen took a hard shot to the left arm this time. Damn Rodian was trying to take his arms out! Isen forced himself to calm his body, relax. Perhaps it was the hour of necessity, but the training began to take hold, and though he couldn't see the Rodian, he could see the Rodian. The Rodian swung again at Isen, but Isen jumped back out of the arc of the rod. Another swing with the tool and Isen leaned way back to have the rod fly over his torso, missing him by inches. The Rodian became angry and violently started swinging in an X motion as he walked toward Isen, forcing the young Jedi to retreat. Isen's Force perception was getting better- maybe it was the inherent danger- and he felt the opening. After one of the Rodian's downward swings, Isen threw a brutal right hook that caught the Rodian flush on his left cheek. Isen followed that instantaneously with a Force push that made it appear that it was the punch that sent the reptilian flying about eight feet.

Isen smirked, proud of himself. Not bad for a blind guy. The commotion going on wiped his lips clean, however. With Byron causing a significant enough distraction for the Weequays and other crew members to focus on him, Isen was able to sneak over to Kegari, feeling her presence as a guide. His eyesight was slowly getting better, but he was wondering if he might be more effective just trying to feel his way through this thing with the Force. It was the first time in his life, after years of training, that he finally felt like he could trust the Force. Was that the component that had caused him to not practice? To not train? Did he not have enough trust in this mystical bond between all living and nonliving things? That dynamic had just changed.

The Jedi initiate crouched down next to Kegari. "We have to go help Byron. They're focused on him. We can outflank anyone we want right now while they go after Byron," Isen said. "One thing we can't do is sit tight. We have to go in and even the odds for Byron. Are we going to tiptoe in or go in heavy?" Isen twirled the fusioncutter in his right hand. "I vote heavy."

He had to think fast. It wasn't just Byron who was in danger but the other Padawans as well. "Think Byron think." All he had thought of was just buying the others some time. Before he knew it he found himself in the cockpit of the escort freighter. "Let's see if this works." The ship's power was cycling up.

The sound of booted feet running up the entrance ramp and into the ship was clear. The man's eyes raced to find the door controls and found them just as a blast bolt wizzed past him and impacted against the viewscreen, making him flinch. Both the ramp began to close and the door to the cockpit. The sound of banging and muffled yells from the other side didn't help his concentration.

"Where are the life support... there you are." Quickly he started changing the settings and venting the immediate oxygen out of the ship now that it was sealed. Only the cockpit was getting oxygen while the rest was getting a very minor amount. It wouldn't kill them, but they would begin to lose strength and ultimately pass out. With that he looked out the viewport to see if he could spot Kegari and Isen. The only downside to his plan was now he was stuck inside the ship too.

@GABA @Isen @Thluna sorry for the late reply. I think we can try to start wrapping up this fight if that's okay with y'all

Kegari heard Isen she knows what she’s gotten into and now she’s gotta find a way out of it. We have to go help Byron”. Kegari heard him say, she agreed although this would be a sticky situation, she didn’t want to leave without the crystal, especially the one that called to her. This is what she gets for rushing to get to the end goal.

She noticed that Byron was in a desperate attempt to sedate the enemies and at least distract them for the time being, but even as inexperienced as she is knew that only lasted for so long. Her and Isen had to act quick once they are “passed out”.

She looked over to Isen knowing that he was going to go in despite all odds. “Byron is getting into the ship, he’s attempting to sedate the enemies. Once they are sedated, we need to act fast. We must get our crates and get into the ship”. Kegari whispered to Isen and then realized that Thalia was missing in action. She had hoped that she was okay because now was not the time to play search and rescue. She didn’t think to commlink her nor did she have the time.

The pantoran and the other jedi might run to the ship but it was closed and only a manual overide from the access panel would allow her to change that. Meanwhile Byron couldn't exactly see them or have a way of telling them to focus on the more immediate threat to themselves outside. That was the whole point of also not allowing the smugglers inside the ship with him wouldn't get out.

The Padawan went to the weapon controls. It wasn't like he needed to try and fly the ship just yet. But he could slave one of the double light laser turrets. They were still cannons so the 'light' factor was still a bit overkill compared to small arms. The few pirates that were coming up behind the Pantoran and their fellow human padawan a bit late were met with some supression shots and a few direct blasts from the light cannons which sent a body flying. "I don't know what I expected to happen today."

A following familiar beep and whirl coming. On the outside of the cockpit, among the criminals that had managed to board the ship before the cargo doors closed behind them. Those that hung to consciousness would see BG-L0 'de-cloak' with her arc welder, welding a torch and grappling launcher which seemed to almost twitch, ready to fire it. "What the ka...kaah.." the muttering of the last one stopped as they lapsed into unconsciousness without the spunky droid needing to zap or burn any of them.

@Isen @Thluna making executive decision to keep going since Thalia is archived

Isen looked around. This was turning into a madhouse. At least Byron seemed to be doing ok. He was blasting folks with turrets, so he must have been doing just fine for himself. He looked at Kegari and shrugged. "He's got things under control in the ship. I don't think he needs our help." Isen looked at the crates that were left. Loading them up and leaving with minimal violence with this brouhaha would be a near impossible task. "He's the veteran troublemaker. Let's see what he suggests." Isen pulled his wrist to his face and jumped on his comlink. "Byron, you got something in mind? You want us to just forget the crates that are left and meet you back at the Horizon?"

He heard the yelling voice of Isen come through the viewport when he stopped firing the turrets. "No, get the crates. I thought they were onboard this ship." He couldn't remember if they had made it up the ramp and into the hold or if they were still sitting at the base.

Everyone inside the ship had fallen unconcious save for Byron. The astromech beeped on the other side of the locked cockpit door, confirming the situation. First things first was he got out of the cockpit and unholstered his blaster pistol. Shooting a stun bolt into each of the asphyxiated smugglers he could tell they were all still alive. But rather than leave it up to their own recovery the padawan wanted to make sure they were knocked out until he and his Jedi cohorts made it to safety with the crate.

Whereever it was, Byron could feel it was still close. The loading ramp he had boarded the ship on lowered again and made it so Isen and Kegari could board the ship if they wanted. "Let's take a look." He walked towards the crate and placed a hand on the latch. There was a sensation, like he was being subtly pulled, or rather called to the crate. Opening it, he saw why. Dozens of crystals sat inside the box. Maybe more. Clear and sparkling he recognized them for what they were. Kyber crystals. "Yeah, let's get back to the Horizon." Looking over his shoulder he glanced at the bodies of the smugglers they had beaten.

Big-Low came rolling down the ramp and started heading back towards where they had originally parked their own ship. +I collected the navigation data from the corellian scout freighter.+ Byron hadn't told the droid to do so but he smile all the same. His eyes looked towards the freighter and nodded. This way they might know where the smugglers had originally acquired the kyber crystals. This was one crate. Who knew how many others had exchanged hands in the past and how many they still planned to.

@Isen @Thluna I'm probably going to end the thread here unless you guys want to add something

Isen made his way to the ramp and helped load the remaining crates onto the ship. His vision was starting to come back into focus, and he took a peek inside the crate that Byron had opened. The crystals were a sight to be seen, but it was the power of the Force that could be felt that made the moment for Isen. The young Kiffar looked up at Bryon, smirked, and lifted a single brow. "For a total cluster, this turned out alright." Isen turned his attention back to the crates.

Among the dozens of crystals among the crates, there was one, a singular crystal that resonated with him in a way that no other thing, living or dead, had ever resonated inside of him. Isen knew it was one crystal. He didn't know how or why he knew that, but he just knew. Isen had potential, but he had not ever allowed the Force to flow through him except for combat or physical training. But this crystal...somewhere in one of these crates...the Force was so strong, it didn't require discipline or training. It was as if the crystal and the Force that emanated from it was demanding his attention. Isen had pinpointed the crate of the one...the one crystal that seemed destined for him. Or, at least it seemed that way to him. On the return leg back home, Isen would inspect that crate and hopefully get his hand on the one.

@Darasuum @Thluna

I agree with ending it here. Two of the four are no longer involved anyway.

Padawan or not, Kegari was not the most experienced of the crew, not to mention she was on a mission that wasn’t really a mission assigned to herself. However, after regaining composure she felt a pull and realized that it was the Force calling to her. The kyber crystals and then realized that it was the crates with the crystals. Along with Isen and Byron, she felt the gravitational pull that the kyber crystals had upon her.

But one particular one called to her, unlike the rest of them. She felt it and also heard its singing as if this was particular crystal was meant for her. This was it, it was her crystal. Mission complete. She has the crystal she needs to construct her lightsaber. A rite of passage for any Jedi Padawan. It was an amazing feeling, a feeling of accomplishment that she is one step closer, to being the Jedi she set out to be.
