PERSONALITY:
Although Meldo Skyrak is a noble, he displays many of the traits of a scoundrel. His relies on bravado, cunning, and trickery more often than sheer combat ability. It is through his own skill and charisma that Meldo usually gets by. Through countless years of being overshadowed by his brother, and only bringing shame to his family's name, Skyrak has reached a state of depression and aloofness. He is constantly self-critical, especially in times of his own major failings. He has never seem himself as a leader, and Skyrak rarely relies on his own ability to lead. With his magnitude of skills, Skyrak can be self-reliant in most situations. Even though he hadn't shown any regret or remorse for his shameful actions, he feels their burden on him in the worst of times. For years, all Skyrak wanted was the approval of his father, and the recognition of his own abilities. After gaining that, and then losing everything precious to him in one night, Skyrak has lost his purpose and meaning. He is afraid to rise to the occasion, but not completely unable to. With his life now miserable and meaningless, Skyrak finds himself in quite a lonely situation. He is now at a crossroad in his life: Regain his honor and family's right, or live the rest of his life as a failure.

BIOGRAPHY:
Meldo Skyrak comes from an origin of nobility and shame. He was born into nobility as the youngest of two sons of an Earl. Earl Corin Skyrak was his father, and Evlen Skyrak is his brother. Meldo's mother was Elavis Aren-Skyrak who was also born into nobility and married nobility. Meldo never felt he fit in with his family, and became the black sheep. Instead of always upholding to the ways of his noble blood, he became more of a scoundrel and a charmer that caused his father much shame, and grief. Meldo never showed any regret to his father, but always felt the burden. Meldo was also always jealous of his older brother. Evlen was a more experienced combatant than his younger brother, and was the next Earl after Corin's death. Meldo could never maintain his father's eye in the shadow of Evlen, and so he became depressed, often feeling that he could never truly express himself or show how special he was. In secret, Meldo Skyrak became a scoundrel, and practiced the ways of the rogue. High dexterity and incredible skill learning was within Meldo's grasp. However his brother was always stronger, and knew no equal in combat. Meldo continued his life as a noble scoundrel until one night when everything would change, and his mettle would be tested.

Meldo Skyrak was left with a large responsibility the night his father and brother were set for a voyage. Corin Skyrak and his oldest son, Evlen Skyrak were heading to meet with the head of the Republic to lend their forces to the Republic's side in the Hutt Wars. Accompanying them was Corin Skyrak's longtime friend and fellow noble, Owleh Karground, who was also lending his forces to the side of the Republic. Against his better judgment, Coring Skyrak had left his younger son, Meldo, in charge of the palace and the Skyrak lands while he and Evlen were away. After all the shame and grief that Meldo Skyrak had brought to his family, and the great burden of always being overshadowed by his brother, Meldo felt ready to prove himself to his father. They had just made up, and Meldo promised that he would do his best to protect the castle, putting his honor and good name on the line. Earl Skyrak left parting words before the family retired before the next day's long journey. "You know what they say about the mice when the cat is away..."

That same night, Meldo Skyrak's mettle would be tested when treachery was afoot. While in his bed, Meldo heard a loud scream coming from outside his bedroom. Meldo cautiously grabbed his blaster to inspect what had happened. When he opened the door, there were armed guards with Karground and Skyrak emblems alike on their armor. It was a coup and a vicious take over by Earl Karground, and treacherous Skyrak soldiers. Meldo fought with them and easily took out the few of them that were there with his sniper shots. His mother, who was certainly not any wall flower, came out dressed in light armor with a blaster like her son. Meldo still questioned what had possibly made that scream until they realized it came from Evlen's room. On the ground lie Evlen's wife and son who were viciously killed by the soldiers who entered earlier. Evlen himself was safe as he had already gone ahead to the Republic capitol with ample provisions and guards. However Earl Skyrak had not left with him, for he decided to stay one more night with his wife and his oldest friend.

Meldo had to fight, find his father, and get out with those of his family alive. It was a battle outside, the soldiers that remained faithful to the Skyrak family were battling with those for the coup. Karground and the traitors were attempting to take over the land and extend their territory's grasp. It was a long search and fight to find the Earl. In the middle of the battle, Elavis was mortally wounded and dying fast. Against his mother's wishes, Meldo carried her instead of leaving her behind. He sought to get her and his father out of the castle alive, even though it was already too late for the Countess to make it. When Meldo finally found his father, he too was mortally wounded and dying. Countess Skyrak had unknowingly passed in Meldo's arms, and Meldo had painfully apologized to his father as he lied the body of his mother next to Earl Skyrak. Meldo was had admitted his life as a failure as a leader and a son. Earl Skyrak calmed his son and told him that he was truly proud to have had a son like Meldo. It was the recognition that Meldo had wanted, finally received from his father, but soured by the failure to protect the palace and the Skyrak rule. Earl Skyrak was quickly dying, but took up his wife's blaster as he heard the traitors at the door, pounding for Skyrak blood. Corin pleaded for his son to leave through the servants passage. Reluctantly agreeing, Meldo pledged to his father that he would reclaim Skyrak Palace and the lands. As he escaped from the fighting, Meldo heard the sound of vain blaster shots as the door to the room his father was in broke open.

Possibly the last of the Skyrak family, and only heir to the Skyrak lands, Meldo Skyrak traveled to the planet of Coruscant. Seeking refuge at the Jedi temple there, Meldo found the Jedi to be quite generous. Some of them recognized him as they hailed from the Skyrak lands. Since he was obviously the son of Earl Skyrak, they questioned what he was doing with such humble provisions. Skyrak explained to them the story of the treachery. When those Jedi offered to help, Skyrak pondered if he was even able lead a counter revolution. He accepted the help of the Jedi, but he explained that they would need his brother, Evlen's, help to fight as Meldo Skyrak was not a proper leader. It was then that he wondered if his brother was even still alive to help. With his one and only friend, Crion Mein, and the Jedi that offered to help, Meldo Skyrak pondered what he would do. His destiny was overshadowed and clouded beyond that of even a Jedi's vision.

So will he become a Jedi? What's your plans for him.

It looks good, though you could flesh out the biography a little more, along with traits. If you can find a good picture, I think it would make the profile better.

Well I'd like to follow a storyline that is actually star wars-esque. Unlike a lot stories here that just seem to be about fighting. My character might be a Jedi, but I want him to settle his noble origin first. Then we'll see where that goes.

Plus I have Jerek working on a few different pictures of the character as well. One of him dressed as nobility and the other with him dressed as a scoundrel.

Ze conflict is a big thing here. But not all of us are into battling.

My character's history and personality have been largely extended with more detail.

Style and concepts changed. History and Personality further lengthened.

What planet is he from? I've read the bio twice now, and I still can't puzzle it out. Also, you'll need permission from Sreeya before this character can do anything involving the Jedi, so talk to her about everything in this bio that involves the Order in any way, shape, or form.

I originally said Naboo, but I'm not sure if that would be the best planet now, I'm actually not sure what planet he should be from.

Specify that sometime soon, if you would. And again, make sure you speak with the Jedi leadership about everything I mentioned.

You need OOC approval for the bits in the bio first. And what about your padawan?
