A great Jedi once said, "The greatest offense is a quick and decisive defense."

That great Jedi was Jedi Master and Councilor, Obi-wan Kenobi. Severus marveled at the man- such control and power and goodness all inside just one person. But Sev's truly favorite Jedi was Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. The main reason behind Sev's black robes was the fact that Master Skywalker wore black all the time when he became a Jedi. Some of the other Jedi looked at Sev's choice of clothes with disdain or even hate and fear. Severus was never going to be a Sith. He knew it deep in his heart that no matter what happened to him, he would always truly stay loyal to the Jedi and her Code.

Severus was sitting on his bed in his dorm, reading about the "Legendary Tales of Luke Skywalker" which covered everything from his birth to his last moments on Anch-To. In a way, Sev and Luke were similar. Severus may not have had a Sith Lord as a father or a Senator as a mother, but he had to face the crippling reality of who they were. They had given Severus up to Crimson Dawn to save their own skin- they had all the money in the galaxy, all the starships, and land, and weaponry, but obviously they preferred keeping their business as weaponry and starfighter engineers on Zeltros, living in the heights as some of the most filthy rich people in the galaxy. But all they were to Severus was dirt and a sour taste in the mouth.

Severus pushed those thoughts away and shut his book. He stood up and paced around his dorm, thinking about his first actual battle with an opposing Force wielder; The Battle of Taris. He remembered getting cut off from the rest of his group, having to search for a way back to them when he had bumped into a masked figure who ignited a red saber...

...If Severus didn't get a warning from the Force, the Sith would've chopped his head off but instead, Severus only received a cut across the right side of his face, which began to bleed down his face, causing him to squint with his eye to avoid and blood getting in it. Severus ignited his orange bladed crossgaurd lightsaber in response, taking the starting position of Form II with his blade at the ready to his side pointing at a downward angle. That saber had been with him since he first constructed it when he was twelve, never really liking the sunset hue his blade gave- thinking it was too similar to the Siths' scarlet red sabers.

But as Sev faced down the Sith, he realized that his orange blade was too light of a shade of orange to be close to the ominous and dark shaded red that was glowing before him. The Sith made the first move, swiftly and powerfully swing downward from Sev's left shoulder, attempting to cut diagonally but Severus deflected the blow and counter attacked, stabbing straight at the Sith's stomach, which was block by the Dark Sider as well. Then in a sudden rush of momentous blows in a flurry of red came from the Sith, down, up, diagonal, horizontal, vertical, jab- Severus had gotten lucky with his counter, catching the blade just right and disarming the Sith after his footing slipped on the wet floor- but then the Sith did something Severus should've accounted for from the beginning and lightning struck the Padawan, sending him flying across the alley way and slid on his back a few feet before regaining himself.

Severus could almost still feel the pain of the insanely cold supercharged heat that flooded through his body, exhausting him almost entirely. The Sith had forced the lightsaber back into his hand, jumped up into the air and prepared to cut down viciously upon the black haired boy- but in the heat of the moment, Severus stood up to his feet and slashed upwards into the air, cutting off the Sith's forearms which then caused the Dark Sider to tumble to the ground. Severus readied himself by calling the Sith's lightsaber to his free hand, preparing himself for any sort of trick the Sith had up his now much shorter sleeves.

But the Sith only chuckled, "You know...heheheh...I thought you were one of us with those clothes you got on...then you ignited your lightsaber-" Severus mustered the last of his strength to send the Sith flying off a ledge down into the deep and dark lower levels of the city.
"I...am a Jedi. And I always will be." He said to himself as he turned off both blades and sat down, allowing himself to recuperate. Just then, another body fell, down the same ledge but from one of the higher platforms above him. This body was cut in half, however, and when Severus looked up to see who the victor was, it was no other than Jedi Master Vahn Berand! Since Severus was too tired to cheer, he smiled and triumphantly forced his fist into the air. Victory! A surprise but a welcome one to be sure...

Severus crouched down and reached under his bed to grab a vibrosteel cube. He then sat down and began to feel the gears through the Force, twisting and turning them until the box clicked and dinged- it was specially designed by Severus to be used as a safe only a Force Sensitive could get into. Sev lifted the lid off and grabbed the black and gold lightsaber hilt, igniting it, casting a red glow across his dark room. He felt the dark energy resonating with the hilt- he wanted to save the crystal inside. Purify it...but Severus was not attuned enough with the Light Side to do such a feat. So, he turned off the blade, placed back in it's safe, and then slid it back into it's hiding spot where hopefully it would never be used by a Sith again.

Well...Off to fencing class, again. Maybe the next fight I get into with a Sith, I'll be able to add another addition to my collection. He mused with smirk as he left his dorm to go train with his fellow Padawans. One day he would save that bleeding crystal, but Severus needed to be more of Jedi than he ever was to what was necessary, but until then, he'd have to settle with his silver hilted, sunset bladed, lightsaber that he made himself.
