- The Ossein Pirates -

"We fight until only our bones remain!"
_Ossein Pirate slogan.

This is an interest check for a new independent faction I have been slowly working toward; the Ossein Pirate Gang, a multifaceted outlaw organization whose main goal is the harassment of Imperial forces and theft of Imperial materiel, whether that be weapons or aurodium. Besides piracy, the Ossein Pirates would be involved in organized crime within the Empire, as well as supporting planetary insurgencies, plus more legitimate trade and enterprise in and outside the Empire through front companies.
Do not confuse the Ossein Pirates with the Rebellion, however. They are pirates, and it is not their intention to try and save the Galaxy, though they will try to hurt the bad guys whenever the opportunity presents itself. The Ossein are going to have all the typical pirate fun as well; there will be plenty of swashbuckling to be done, plenty of loot to be had, plenty of rum to be drunk.
The Ossein Pirates will be led by Triter Zone, former protege of the "Pirate Admiral" Krayd Hasperre. Triter will have assembled the gang as revenge against the Empire for his mentor's death, and operations will generally be conducted with that in mind; the Ossein may not specifically limit themselves to Imperial targets, however, so most targets within reason would be fair game.
There will be several components to the Ossein Pirate Gang:

- The Ossein Pirates -

The Ossein Pirates - as stated before - are an organization created by former Hasperre Pirate Gang member Triter Zone as both a revival of his old gang, and as an instrument of revenge against the Empire and its Sith masters, who killed Triter's mentor, Krayd Hasperre. Composed of both new recruits and veterans of the old Hasperre gang, the Ossein are modeled loosely after the ancient Tionese pirate clans, a group of more or less independent ships with their captains and crews swearing fealty to a chieftain - referred to officially as a Trierarch, an ancient Tionese language word for ship's captain, though more commonly referred to as "admiral" or "commodore" - who has the power to gather them together and command them as a fleet, as well as decide on rules of conduct when ships come together, the priority of certain targets, and policy for the distribution of loot and treatment of prisoners. The Trierarch is also entitled to a share of all loot captured by the gang, for personal use or to be distributed to the gang as necessary.
The Ossein Pirates are a loosely organized but highly competent force, their members experienced in fighting independently, though still able to unite and work as a group far more easily and efficiently than most pirate gangs. Unlike many pirate gangs, the Ossein are loyal to a code of honor and conduct in their actions:

I - No Ossein ship or crew will fight another, unless authorized by the Trierarch.
II - No Ossein ship will raid, unless the mark has the capacity and will to resist.
III - No harm shall come to the innocent. Crew and passengers shall be spared, unless the former resists, and their belongings shall not be taken. Slaves, however, shall be freed, and offered passage aboard the raiding ship to the destination of their choice.
IV - Captives shall be given the option of joining the Ossein crew, or being let off at the nearest port which can be visited safely.
V - There will be no attempts to subvert the second through fourth laws, or the penalty shall be death for the perpetrator.
VI - Loot and prize ships - or capital from the sale thereof - which have not been requisitioned for the coffers or supply of the Trierarch shall be distributed among the crew of the raiding ship, in shares to be decided by a vote among the crew. All crew and officers will abide by the decision of said vote, under pain of punishment, to be decided by a vote among the crew.
VII - The captain of an Ossein ship shall create ship's articles regarding conduct not covered by the laws mentioned here, to be ratified by a vote of the officers and crew.
VIII - All Ossein crew and officers will abide by the decisions of the Trierarch, even if they should contradict the previously stated laws. Failure to abide shall be dealt with by the Trierarch as they see fit.

At present, Triter Zone is the Trierarch of the Ossein Pirates, and has vowed to use their resources to hurt the Empire and its Sith overlords any way he can. He has gone out of his way to recruit beings with particular grudges against the Empire, as well, reinforcing this stance.
Besides overt piracy, the Ossein Gang is also involved in supporting insurrections on Imperial worlds, and covertly defending worlds at risk from the Empire's aggression. The gang also has a large intelligence apparatus, infiltrating corporations, governments and even rival criminal enterprises.
- Blackrow Shipping -

Blackrow Shipping is a front company for the Ossein Pirates, pursuing legitimate business ventures inside and outside Imperial space, and covertly enabling certain operations of their criminal owners. Blackrow Shipping is a small but versatile firm which specializes in transporting cargo of all kinds, to all manner of destinations. The Ossein use Blackrow to try to land contracts with manufacturers of valuable or strategically important goods, such as Imperial war materiel, sometimes allowing the Ossein Pirates to raid them, sometimes collecting intelligence on shipping trends and the movements of Imperial contractors or others, and even just plain moving freight for credits. To keep them above suspicion, the Ossein Pirates often stage raids on Blackrow convoys, though no blood is ever drawn.
Blackrow Shipping employs a small fleet of transports, from passenger liners to freighters and shuttles.
- Ossein Workshops -

Ossein Workshops is the "engineering division" of the Ossein Pirates, encompassing a widely distributed network of outlaw tech dens across the Galaxy. Run almost like a legitimate manufacturing firm, but without the dress code or centralization, OW incorporates everything from weapons production, to knock-off droids, to repulsor vehicles, to starships and even counterfeit consumer goods. Nearly all Ossein Pirate gear and vehicles - specialized or otherwise - are sourced from these manufacturers, who turn a tidy profit for the gang selling other items to outside customers as well.
Ossein Workshops also supports the gang's slicer activity.

So, what d'you think! Ready to join a pirate gang? Got any comments? Suggestions? Post away!

I was thinking about making a pirate character myself, so consider me as another person who's heavily interested. If nothing else, I'll stalk your guys' threads, haha.
