Finally at last. Kaiden was going to receive training to hopefully become a Jedi Knight. He was excited. As he walked towards the Great Temple of Ossus, his robe moved loosely, and the sun shined bright upon his face. Kaiden smiled. It was going to be a good day.

Kaiden ascended the steps to the Great Temple. Once inside, it was only a matter of time before he'd meet his new Master. And the road to knighthood would begin. Kaiden's only thought was, who was going to train him. All the Masters and Knight seemed busy.

Kaiden wasn't going to question the decision. He was happy that he was chosen to continue learning the Jedi way. He paced back and forth in the Great Hall waiting for his new Master to show himself.

Jerek Odres was finally moving onto his fourth consecutive Padawan in his four years as a Jedi Knight. His next student was a human by the name of Kaiden Smith. A Padawan that was specifically ten years younger than Jerek himself.

Jerek walked through the large halls of the temple to find where Kaiden would be. From what he was told, this Padawan would have black hair and tanned skin. Kaiden was also relatively like Jerek when he was younger. A self-disciplined, and responsible person with a knowledge of sacrifice.

Eventually, the Jedi Knight made it to the main room in which Kaiden would most likely be at. There were many people paired up together, but one was alone and looking to be without a master. Jerek walked over to greet the man who was hopefully Kaiden.

When he approached the pacing man in the great hall, Jerek greeted him politely, "Kaiden Smith I assume," asked Jerek.

"Yes I am," Kaiden said with a smile. "Knight Jerek Odres I believe? Its an honor to be your Padawan," Kaiden said with a slight bow. "I also know you're well trained in the lightsaber form, Soresu. I would like to learn everything you know about that particular form. I'm not the type of person who seeks aggression. Or jumps to use aggression when its first presented. That's why I would say the role of Jedi Consular would suit me well. As I would like to become a Jedi Diplomat more specifically. I'm sorry if all this information is too forward, Master Odres," Kaiden said with a pause, allowing Odres to catch up. "But I am the Padawan and you're the Master. I assume my training will really flesh out my true role within the Order."

Jerek listened in on his Padawan's short introduction himself. Of all of his Padawans, this one was the first to truly be honored to learn from Jerek. A Diplomat also was most likely suited to Niman, but they would get to that later. First, it would be a slightly different way of training for Kaiden. The core Force powers were what Kaiden would need first if he was going to truly become a Consular.

Jerek Odres made it simple in what he said, "Very good, Kaiden," stated the white haired knight. "Follow me to the court yard, and we shall begin your training," Jerek turned in the direction of the courtyard and motioned for Kaiden to follow him. "I have some training equipment set up there."

"Yes Master," Kaiden said as he walked beside his new Master. Friend. He wanted to get to know Jerek more. They would be together for God knows how long. And even after his training, they would still see each other. "Tell me Master Odres," Kaiden started, "What have you experienced while being a Knight with the Order? Do you have a specific role within the Order? Or do you do as told. If the information I seek is too confidential, I understand. I'm just trying to drawn upon your experiences as a Knight to get a better possible understanding of what's ahead of me," Kaiden said as they exited the Great Hall, entering the courtyard.

Jerek's newest apprentice Kaiden was not the first to try and get to know Jerek's life. It had been four years since Cyrus had asked him that same question and the Jedi Knight answered it.

Jerek turned to Kaiden and began, "The life of a Jedi is a difficult one," stated Odres. "The path you have chosen will not be easy, but the lifestyle will be harder still. I never knew my parents as a result, and I only know what little the master that brought me here told. However it isn't all bad. While I have been here, I have taken the role as a Jedi Watchmen." Jerek paused for a second to think about it before further explaining, "Although I take on apprentices such as you, I protect single places in the galaxy; alone. I rarely go on missions with teams. The last one I was on, I was captured while abiding the escape of my charges. I late escaped after ripping a hole through my Dark Jedi captors." Jerek stopped quickly as he saw that they were at the spot in which the training equipment was set up, and walked over to the middle of the terrain. "Come and sit with me as I explain everything," Jerek then took a seat on the grass.

"I understand becoming a Jedi is hard. And the lifestyle is even harder. I've accepted that. And I barely knew my parents as well," Kaiden said as he trailed off. "Luckily you were able to escape Master Odres. Otherwise, I'd be wondering who I was going to learn Soresu from," Kaiden said with a chuckle. Kaiden sat in the grass opposite of Jerek. "I'm ready for my first lesson, Master Odres."

There was little time to waste so Jerek firmly said, "I have a few questions for you to give you a suggestion on how your training shall conspire. It will be your choice among the three different types, but it is recommended you take what I suggest to you after these questions."

Jerek paused for dramatic effect, "Question one: A woman and her small child are beset by a desperate-looking group of thugs. They are menacing her with weapons and she screams for you to help. Do you: Attack the thugs; help them flee; or stop the thugs and find out why they are attacking her?" Jerek completed his first question and left no time for his apprentice to respond, he would respond after all of the questions were asked.

"Question two: You are in combat with a Dark Jedi allied with the Bogan. There is a pause in combat. Do you: Attack him again; try to trick him; or Find out why he turned to the dark side and try to turn him?"

"Question three: There is a locked door and your goal lies on the other side. Do you: Smash the door down; try to pick the lock; or knock?"

"Question Four: You are the head of an Enclave on a contested world. The Dark Jedi infiltrated, and are causing unrest across the planet. Do you: Hunt them down; try to lure them out into a trap; or coordinate the planetary government to identify them. There are no wrong answers."

Questions? Jerek then started. Kaiden listened to every question he asked. He then replayed them in his head. Then Kaiden was ready to answer. "For the first question, I answer, I'd help them flee. For the second answer, I'd try and find why he turned to the dark side. For the third question, I'd simply pick the lock. As for the forth and final question, I'd try to lure them into a trap," Josh said as he let his answers sink in, awaiting for what Jerek had to say next.

Eventually Jerek Odres finished his questions and got the answer to them came quickly and clearly. This was good that Jerek's apprentice, Kaiden, was very quick in retorting to Jerek's questions. The Jedi Knight began to realize a pattern in all of his answers with one that went astray. The responses confirmed what Jerek had not thought of Kaiden's best approach towards training. The white haired man announced to Padawan his results as he pulled down his own hood to reveal he had white hair and blue eyes which contradicted his tanned skin.

In a firm tone Jerek Odres spoke to his apprentice, "Smith, you are most suitable for the route of the Jedi Sentinel," stated the Jedi Knight. "A Jedi whose skills and talents lay in a balance between the force and combat. They concentrate on a passive means to fighting and rooting out evil. Sentinels engage in less combat training than Guardians, but more than Consulars. They also engage in more force training then Guardians, but less than Consulars. If this is not suiting to you, you may pick another training course. The other classes are the Consulars and the Guardians. They focus on the force and combat respectively."

Kaiden listened to Jerek tell him what route he was suitable for, and apparently it was the route of Jedi Sentinel. Someone who would practice the force and combat evenly, and had a passive style. These seemed very much like Kaiden.

"I agree with what you say, Master Odres," Kaiden replied.

To take the role of a Jedi Sentinel would be difficult for Kaiden, but this was the same with all of the other classes. There would be more advanced classes, but Jerek would teach that to him later. The first order of business would be a lightsaber form. Obviously it would be very difficult to teach his young Padawan a form that he didn't know, but Jerek knew the basics of each so it wouldn't be too hard. Jerek took out his purple Soresu lightsaber to show it to Kaiden to extenuate that this was going to be about lightsaber combat, "Now I shall explain to you the lightsaber forms as this is an integral part of being a Jedi. I shall teach you any form up to six. Allow me to explain."

Jerek put his lightsaber back onto his belt, "Form one is the art of Shii-Cho; also known as 'The Way of the Sarlacc'. This form will teach you to make use of the advantages offered by lightsabers and compensate for their weaknesses when needed. This is more suited to multiple person fighting as a single person will be able to see the mistakes or opening easier."

"Form two is the art of Makashi; also known as 'The Way of the Ysalamiri'. This form will teach you to utilize precision and balance against your opponent. It is mostly for lightsaber dueling and you may find trouble facing blaster wielding opponents. This is more suited to single person combat as it is rather susceptible to being overwhelmed by more than one."

"Form three is the art of Soresu; also known as 'The Way of the Mynock'. I utilize this form as my primary lightsaber style. This form will teach you to perfectly defend yourself, and counter your opponent's openings. However you will not be the most offensive person. This is suited to all both multiple and single person combat as it is the most defensive form out of the seven."

"Form four is the art of Ataru; also known as 'The Way of the Hawk-Bat'. This form is a more open and kinetic then all of the other forms. It will require you to master Alter Force powers and Control Force powers as many of the moves require it for the advanced agility. This is more suitable to single combat, preferably lightsaber dueling as this form as difficulty with blaster deflection, but the agility will more than make up for it."

"Form five is the art of Shien and Djem So; also known as 'The Way of the Krayt Dragon'. These are two versions of the form that work with blaster deflection and balanced offense and defense during dueling respectively. This style is more suited to multiple person combat as it was designed to go with a better defense against blaster fire and rapid attack during one's own offense."

"Form six is the art of Niman; also known as 'The Way of the Rancor'. This form is a form meant for balancing forms one, three, four, and five. While it allows you to utilize all of those forms, you will be a master of none, but proficient in all. It is suited to both single and multiple person combat due to its versatility. It will also allow you to utilize Jar'kai or two lightsabers. I shall not be teaching you this today, for this requires study in the forms mentioned, and we will only be focusing on one. If you wish to learn, be patient as it will come in time."

"The most appropriate for one following the route of Jedi Sentinel is forms one, five, or six. Seeing as we are going to be focusing on one form today, it is suggested to pick one or five if you want any of the three." Jerek was quite curious to see what choice his apprentice would make in lightsaber combat. Hopefully Kadien Smith didn't know of form seven as Jerek was most likely not going to teach that form to him.

--------------
Form 1: Variety; Multiple Opponents
Form 2: Precision; Single Opponents
Form 3: Defense; Both
Form 4: Agility; Single Opponents
Form 5: Strength; Multiple Opponents
Form 6: Balance; Both

Kaiden grinned, "I see you didn't mention Juyo, Master," he said pacing back and forth. "However, Juyo doesn't fit my style. Or need. Therefore, I will not pick it. I do however, want to learn Shien and Djem So. Since I was taught Shii-Cho as a Padawan," he said, awaiting Jerek's response.
