Lady Aubrie, the leader of Ventrue, sat in the corner of the Sanquine Night. Her long blonder hair contrasted against her pale skin, her blood-red dress was in Victorian style. In her hand she slapped her fan against her palm. She moved her eyes around the club. This was a club for the kindred, a club she had built with her money. She had a virile young male, wearing skin tight clothing shifting next to her. Was this her childe? No, his eyes were glazed over she obviously had other plans for him.

Nicolai had been enjoying a few rounds of vodka. Though alchohal never had any real affects on him until the many drinks into it. This made drinking an expensive activity which he then only reserved for special occasions. He had long since odrered two bottles of his favorite and told the bartender to not even bother anymore. He'd feel like shit in the morning but he didn't have any duties to attend to at that time.

Zamiel Strode purposefully into the bar. He ordered an Absynth from the bar, and took it over to a recluse corner. Another failed search. None of these damned cattle that called themselves human were good enough for the embrace. Ah well... Tomorrow would be another search...

Nicolai noticed someone new walk into the bar. He hadn't socialised with too many vampires because for a vampire he was pretty young. Throwing that aside he picked up one of his bottles, offering the other to an attractive girl who had been sitting next to him. Walking towards the man he downed another glass of vodka and finally stopped before him. Not taking a seat without permission.

"Hello, Comrade. Mind if I sit?

Zamiel looked at the newcomer. He was a Mekhet. A cowardly secret monger. At least he was better than a Nosferatu or Gangrel. he pointed opposite him. ''Not at all, what brings you to my table?'' He asked in his Romanian accent.

Though Nicolai was Russian, years of traveling and learning new dialects had washed away his accent.

"Well, it isn't common I meet too many new people. I don't bother speaking to the Gangrel and the Nosferatu are most of the times eye sores. I also suppose that since you don't have a body guard tailing you that you are not a Ventrue?"

''I am Zamiel of House Ventrue. I have no bodyguard because i don't need one. They are inferior to me, and so are useless if someone attacks.'' He downed his Absynth, pouring himself more from the bottle. ''I've been a vampire for many centuries, and learned that bodyguards are useless.'' He sipped from the glass. ''And you? I am guessing you are a Mekhet?''

"Ah, yes. I was bitten during the October Revolution. I was clearing the Winter Palace when I was bitten. I spent years traveling and learning before I truly found out what I was. I was in denial but now I see. The thing that is so frustrating is that I belong to a house who pride's itself in its inaction. When I was traveling I learned many fighting techniques so you could understand why I am so restless sometimes."

''I was transfomred centuries ago, in a highway robbery. I learned from an ancient Ventrue conclave, realising that we are the best house of all.'' He smiled, reliving his experience in the Ventrue conclave. So much knowledge imparted...

'Ventrue, eh? You learned from the greatest house of all? The fact that you had to learn from a house undermines your claim of ability immediately, young one. I suppose you were spoonfed every single piece of your so called powers...

'Additionally, you are drawing far too much attention to our esteemed house. I suggest you hold your tongue until you are able to restrain it with your will alone...Zamiel.'

Known only as Will, he hid his features under a dark silken cloak, which shimmered in what little light the dark corner had to offer. Apparently the younger Ventrue had sat in an occupied area, the small booth filled by the ancient one, Will, whose age reached close to a millenia. A thin yet uncharacteristically tanned hand reached out to grasp a slender chalice, the crystal vessel holding a deep crimson liquid - blood wine, famed for the delicate mixture of alcohol and human blood that made it a popular choice for the ever-regal Ventrue. Will downed a small amount of the liquid, his eyes closing to mere slits as he experienced the closest thing to enjoyment as the flavour washed over his tongue, the mixture of metallic and alcoholic creating a delicate flavour few could stomach. After swallowing, the elder Ventrue placed the chalice down on the table, his emerald eyes gleaming in the low light as he glanced between both the younger Ventrue and the Mekhet he spoke to. Indeed, the only reason they were worth his time was that they had intruded without looking or asking. Had they done so, they would be currently looking for somewhere else to enjoy their night.

Zamiel turned, ready to brate such a cocky newcomer, before seeing the cloak. The cloak he had seen only once before, and he knew to whom it belonged: The Elder, Will. He occasionally visited the conclave Zamiel stayed at, and he was known to be high up in the unofficial heirarchy. Even so, Zamiel's pride had just been damaged. ''That is an unfounded lie. Everyone must start somewhere. Even you were young once, getting used to the gift. I just found a superior way to find and develop my power. I worked for all i have now. Also, i see no problem in drawing attention to myself. Simply mentioning the great house in a bar reserved for vampires will do me no damage. Now, if you'll excuse me.'' Zamiel briskly got up, wanting to be away from the ageing wretch that acted more like a Mekhet that Ventrue.

"You required aid to achieve what you are, and for that, you are weak, restricted by the teachings of house Ventrue. True power comes to those who have earnt it, who have found it on their own. Because of this, you will forever be inferior."

Will spoke with no facial expression, as if stating mere facts. His voice reflected the same, having no emotion evident, the simple statement was enough. Besides, emotions were for the weak, the inferior. Will had not mastered this, but he was so much closer than anyone else.

"Comrade, that is only your opinion. No offense to my new friend here but you talk of power? I hardly consider the Ventrue to be powerful where it counts. True you have wealth and a few friends where it counts but in my opinion most of you are selfish narcissists who don't bat an eyelash when one of your loyal bodyguards take a bullet for you. Now, once again. No offense to you Zamiel. I do not know enough about you to classify you as I have the other Ventrue but so far you have said you need no bodyguards. Very amirable."

Nicolai was walking with Zamiel for the last part that pertained to him.
