Blackwell Office - Ahto City - Manaan

It was thousands of years ago that the then-Blackwell Independent Technologies made first made their headquarters on this ocean world Manaan, a world known for their strict neutrality. They started small then but they rose quickly to become a powerful cooperation, and to this day they remain a household brand, a mega-corporation.

Newton Arden was sitting at the table of a meeting room in a Blackwell owned office building in Ahto City, there would be dozens of empty seats, but he had only one guest, the woman that he met on Serenno for regular shipments of his D3 droids. Today is the contract signing and once that is done it will all be official and in the books.

Newton was wearing a nice business suit and tie, he would also be accompanied by his normal entourage, his personal assistant protocol droid L3-35, and his personal astromech companion M7. L3 did a good job drafting the contract, which is sitting at the table (along with pens). There would also be a datapad for Newton laying on the table as well. The contract was typed up to Newton's specifications based on what was agreed on Serenno: Namely the larger upfront payment along with shipments of droids for the first few months, then regular payment for more shipments after that. For both those phases, there would be no transfer of hardware without the mega-corporation receiving credits in their bank account (If the first upfront payment is cleared, then droid transfer is made. There is also the purposed quality inspection, which Newton was fine with.

Newton also had an unopenned bottle of Corellian ale on the table and some glasses. His treat. Newton must say he is looking confident, looking forward to this deal as he stands to make commission from these transcations. Honestly Newton does wonder what kind of problem Demolly must have if she needs this many droids, but he supposes it's not his problem.

The Blackwell roboticist would then lean back in his seat, rest his head on his arms, looking really casual. L3 looked at him and remarked "Well sir, aren't you in a delightful mood today, hmm?" she questioned. "Yes, I am. Today is a great day." Newton smirked, then his chrono would then be beeping, checking it out, it's almost time for his appointment with Demolly. "Alright, almost that time" he would then straighten his posture. "L3, please see our client to this room." "Yes sir, right away" L3 would comply, leaving the room and then waiting at the lobby, ready to receive Demolly when she arrives, or if she is there already.

Demolly, once again, was wearing civilian clothing. She was in a dress, still projecting the illusion of mass amount of wealth. In reality, she was in control of a lot of credits, though for this transaction specifically. She wasn't trusted it per say, but it was put into her lap by superiors that didn't think it was worth their time.

Their mistake and her boon.

Still, she had her lightsabers on her belt, hidden beneath a layer of her dresses cloth. She was "checked" at entry, but mind tricked the guards into thinking they'd done their job when they didn't. The small Sith didn't expect any trouble, and she drew much more heavily on the Force due to her connection to it, but paranoia came part and parcel with the Dark Side.

As she entered the meeting room, her yellow eyes flicked to the only man in the room. She smiled at him. "Newton, a pleasure to see you again," she greeted earnestly. Though fear fed her, it was still interesting that he'd had none around her. Perhaps he didn't know what she was, or perhaps he didn't care. Either suited her just fine.

She sat on the chair across from the man, her eyes lingering on the ale for a second. She hadn't indulged herself in simple pleasantries like alcohol before. Partly due to her upbringing, partly due to her not being free for all that long, despite everything she'd managed to accomplish in the short span of time. All she knew was Force users had a very, very high tolerance. "I assume everything is ready," she said to fill the air between them.

"Nice to see you again as well Miss Demolly." he waved towards her, smiling after she greeted him, he would receive her well in turn. "Hows Serenno been the past few days?" he asked her a little question to make for a little small talk. Admittedly, Serenno was a nice planet, easy on the eyes. He didn't get to see much of it besides it's country-side, but the culture around the planet sounds intriguing and it did have quite a storied history.

But soon, it would be all business here. Once the business is done though, they can crack open the bottle he brought. He did notice the pale nearhuman-like woman's eyes on the ale. "You are free to go ahead if you want." he said in regards to the ale. "But yes, everything is ready. Take as much time reading the contract as you want. I'm in no hurry. " he said, confidently. "When you are ready, feel free to sign." he would gesture towards the pen on her side of the table. With that, Newton's would clasp his hands, elbows on the table as buisness would be able to get under way.

"I've been traveling," she answered when he asked about Serenno. "I don't spend a lot of time on Serenno. My ambitions go far beyond a single planet." It didn't matter if he understood what she meant. It was small talk, as small as talk about galactic domination went.

"I'll sign first," she said, taking the datapad and glancing over it. She didn't sense any ill intent from him, which made her more confident.

A quietness settled between them while she read. It took a few minutes, but once she confirmed nothing was off on the contract she signed it on behalf of the Order.... and her cult, which was getting part of the shipments.

When she put the datapad down on the table for him, she smiled. "I'm interested in another thing," she began, reaching for the glass near her. "You and your genius, not just the company you work for. I plan to keep an eye on you. Perhaps even help you from time to time, in whatever way that may be."

He may not like the idea of her keeping an eye on him, but she didn't care. It wasn't something he'd be able to control unless he actively avoided her and her men. If he didn't try to avoid her attention, he'd find building a good business relationship with her beneficial.

"I see" Newton nodded when she said she's been traveling. Keeping busy, he sees, not tied down to a single planet. Of course. Newton waited patiently as Demolly looked over the contract, he knew it would be more than worth the wait, as she did sign it, offering to go first. Now all that's needed is for him to sign, then the deal is official and the Serennese lady will be receiving her droids in no time, which in turn means Blackwell will profit, which will mean Newton will also profit by commission. With droids of his own making being sold, this would help Newton's advancement through the mega-corporation as well as his own prosperity.

Demolly then said she had one more thing, and she was interested in him and planned to keep and eye on him, and even maybe some help. Newton's eye widened, intrigued. "Well, thank you. I'm flattered Miss Demolly. Thank you." Newton nodded his head, wasn't sure if he should be nervous or not, that she is watching him, maybe closely. But at the same time, it does feel good benefactor out there, outside of Blackwell, especially one in higher social standing. This could be mutually beneficial for the both of them.

"Alright, my turn" he would then take the contract, pick up a pin, and sign his name. He already knew how the contract read, he didn't need a second read-through, he would put the contract back down on the table along with the pen he used. "Well, it's done now, isn't it?" he would then eye the beverage he bought. "Now shall we?" he smirked. If all is good, he is eager to have a drink to celebrate.

She allowed a smile to cross her lips when he seemed pleased with her attention. It was a benefit to him after all, considering the plans she had and the sheer amount of credits that'd be at her fingertips should she be successful.

Though, of course, there was the danger of others not being thrilled with their association. Demolly didn't care about the latter; she'd foster his success since it only benefited her own. That was, assuming, he'd continue to advance technology and begin to raise through the the mega corp.

"If you ever need protection, contact me. My men will see to it, and perhaps I will visit if I'm in the area," she offered. Keeping her men close to him was the point, but it'd also be annoying if Newton died after she'd decided to invest in him. As far as she was concerned, he was under her protection now. It didn't matter what he thought on the subject.

It wasn't long before he signed the contract too and the deal with done. The small Sith smiled again and nodded as he eye'd the drink. "Allow me," she answered, grabbing it and opening it herself. She poured him a drink first, then her. When she put the bottle down she picked up her own glass and held it out, saying, "To a good business relationship."

"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind" he said. That seems odd, but it is a nice gift. A retinue of his own Serennese bodyguards, eh? He isn't quite sure what to make of it, but just in case the offer is there. He will accept his new benefactor's offer and make use of it if/when the time comes, although if he needs protection he does own a Deneb droid of his own and could requisition more if needed.

Newton also had an offer of his own "I have something as well. If you are interested in any more of our products, feel free to reach out. I myself have some new designs that are being pushed up to the heads, waiting for a greenlight." Why stop at one deal, when there are many to be had, as long as the credits are good of ocurse.

Nice of Demolly to pour his drink for him. Now, it's time. "To a good business relationship" he said, echoing Demolly, clashing his drink with Demollys. "Cheers" he said. And with that, Newton would take a swig of his drink in celebration. This day is turning out better than Newton had anticipated and he has future prospects to look forward to.

"I will certainly look at your new designs once they get the green light," she said, expecting them to be worth her time but not feeling the need to look ahead of time.

For now, she also needed to go through her superiors for future purchases. But she'd get more funding as her cult spread. Her men didn't just sit around. There was dozens of jobs they could take up, including exploiting the people who lived in their "territory" and piracy. There was also the prospect of climbing the ranks in the Sith and reaping the rewards for that.

It was absolutely worth keeping contact and fostering these types of connections with a future that screamed credits.

She brought up her drink and clinked it against Newton's when he echoed her toast. It was all that was left: drinking and celebrating before going back to her machinations.
