The Sleheyron Straight - New Management

Sleheyron had once been a world that was part of the precious jewel of Hutt Space. It brought a wealth of spice, resources, entertainment and slaves for the entertainment and profit of the Kajidic that controlled it - but since the death of the great Jabba, centuries ago, the world had slipped out of their controll. Now it found itself under the perfidious control of local warlords and criminals, united under a carefully maintained lattice of perceived order.

Nor’baal would change that.

He had sent two of the best fighters credits could buy to the world, to ‘take care’ of the Mayor of the planet's capital, Kazzak, and arranged for them to be dropped off by freighter. The Hutt, who would not be travelling with them, now appeared by way of holo before his two mercenaries, speaking with a deep voice that was customary for his species.

<Bohdatky Kane gee neu bimay bu dopweneha see tah pauanea che rohbapa, phave biy pawa koumhaptece chakee bu umena see bo bokeuala. Jee dayan uba bacdop bai chahsa cha jen. Jee gee banba mah banba droida bai nan cay uba, an bonee wagan mee ketea doth cuanesa, Jee lwaa bla.> his sneered as he finished speaking, before shutting down the holocommunicator, and leaving the trained killers to do their work.

OOC - Welcome to your ‘Sleheyron Straight’ mission, I’m your host, Nor’baal. This is self-DMed, so tag me when you’re ready to wrap up, and I’ll post the closer. If you would like me to pop in before then, just tag me!

Ash hung in the air like a haze in the city where Gurp and his companion were dropped off. The smell of sulfur was dominant here, and likely everywhere on this planet. This planet was nothing but volcanos and city after centuries of development. It was still better than Tatooine though. Both were pretty hot planets but at least no sunlight could beat down on them through the layers of burning ash. A planet already ruined by volcanic activity was perfect for a bustling industrial economy. No one can really complain about pollution if it all looks the same. The Gamorrean considered for a moment what that meant before completely losing the thought.

<<Killya>> he grunted simply towards his companion, who he wasn't sure he had met yet. At least, he forgot the name if he had. None of that stuff was important to Gurp as long as they got the job done for the Lorda. This was his first mission for his boss without his brother by his side. It felt odd.

To comfort the pudgy Gamorrean, he had a large heavy blaster rifle slung onto his back. Further emotional support was provided by a pair of nice pistols hanging on his belt. A therapy knife was also clipped to the belt on the back. To top it all off, an anxiety armor set covered his body and held him tightly for protection, both physically and emotionally. The Gamorrean Guard armor made him feel quite at home. Almost as if Burk was right here. Almost...

Before moving ahead, Gurp glanced at a photo he kept in his belt pocket. He quickly tucked it back in and readied himself to hear the plan from his likely more tactical partner.

Xol hated Hutts.

But he loved money and reputation more- but only by a little bit. After Norbaal's attempt at putting Xol's family on the big wanted lists on every Bounty Board in the galaxy made it hard to accept working for such a disgusting slug.

The Tognath had other plans beyond this job, however, which would be to gain the Hutts trust- something Xol would need the patience for. He had it all right- if it meant avenging his family and the Crymorah included.

Xol turned to look at the Gamorrean he was working with who just...uttered 'Kill' and nothing else. The EX-Pirate laughed and shrugged at such a strange and belligerent request. Working with the giant green pig was going to be fun, from what Xol got off of the well-armed warrior. Nothing would compare to working with Gram Van Alasdaire, however, but Xol wasn't complaining.

He, too, was dressed in his combat-approved attire. His dual DE-10s laid ready in there magnetic quickdraw holsters on the thighs, an Amban Phase Pulse rifle was slung over the left shoulder while a droid arm strapped over a blast vast was aiming Xol's tactically used Flash Pistol over the other shoulder. Punchee, Xol's ID-21 Seeker droid was hovering behind the Tognath as well, awaiting orders and instruction.

From what it looked like, Xol was going to be the brains of this operation. Which was fine with him. The Bounty Hunter didn't expect Gurg to be a simple follower, but if the impressive warrior proved otherwise then this mission just got a whole lot easier.

A simple hit job wasn't exactly hard to plan, but Gurp had hoped to hear a plan by now. He felt fairly lost without it. Usually someone was there telling him what to do in an engagement. It was easy to do one's job as a meathead smashing in heads when directed. This was just one target to kill and had likely to not be all that loud. Stealth was not really in the Gamorrean's toolbelt so he knew to lean on the partner for help there.

The city was in its usual bustle of business and daily life now that vaccines were rolling out and security had a handle on AMS. In fact, security was more concerned with the plague than with defending the mayor from an attack they didn't know was coming. That was certainly in the Syndicate's favor. It still wouldn't be the simplest attack, it was a government official after all.

<<Ateema choy?>> He grunted at Xol as he looked over the city around them. There were police patrols but so far none had thought to investigate the pair. Or perhaps had not seen them yet. They were a few blocks from the Government Center which is where the offices would be. Perhaps waiting for him to leave was better than going in guns blazing, but Gurp was impatient. All three of his brain cells were trying to think of how to get inside the office building without raising the alarm. So far, he had nothing.

Surrounding the Government Center were a few offices and residential towers. Nothing of note. At street level, a few diners and shops could be found with a bit of foot traffic throughout. Intel, that Gurp didn't recall himself, said that the Governor lived in the penthouse of one of those towers as well. There were many options for success, but more for failure. Police patrols and bodyguards would make any of the options risky. Some more than others perhaps.

Xol had just finished his plan as soon as Gurp had asked for it- perfect timing!

<"I'm in pretty good with the Guild so if anyone pokes around us, I'll flash the ID and tell them you're with me. If the officials want to intrude further we'll tell them we're hunting two hitmen on the run and that the rest is the Mayor's business. This will at least get us to the front doors. Punchee will freeze-frame the securities cameras along the corridors necessary to get to the Mayor. Then, I'll let you do the honors of removing his head while I prepare the ascension cables for us to repel down into the courtyard and out of sight. It will be as if nothing had ever happened."> The Tognath chuckled darkly as he began leading the way down the streets to the penthouse.

As the Bounty Hunter expected, a cop stopped the two and asked them why they were armed. Xol did as he had planned, flashing his Bounty Hunter's ID and telling the officer he'd be dealing with the Mayor if he tried anything stupid.

The officer put his hands up in defeat and let the two scurry along.

<"You're brother would be very proud of how self reliant you are, Gurp. Setting alone with an EX-Pirate to smoke a government official- think of the stories they'll tell back home."> Xol told the Gamorrean. This was apart of Xol's other plan concerning winning the trust of Norbaal so he could slice him for Life Day diner. The Tognath always wanted to taste Hutt Roast.

If Xol could get in good with the Hutt's valued brother-bodyguards, it would make things all the easier for his long awaited espionage. But, the sooner they killed the Mayor, the sooner Xol could kill everything else.

It seemed that a plan did exist. That was good. It comforted Gurp to hear of an action plan with steps and a role for him to perform. He did his best to listen and understand every detail. When mentions of what the Gamorrean had to do came up, he nodded vigorously and committed it to memory. Once Xol stopped speaking, every detail of the plan left his brain. Instantly deleted like a corrupt file. There was something about Gurp removing a head and something about... something. Ah well. Gurp would just follow along and hope for the best.

Right away it seemed trouble had found them. A police patrol stopped them and it seemed violence was coming. Gurp was about to draw a pistol to shoot when his partner pulled out some form of ID card. The Gamorrean had forgotten the whole deal about this. Was it some sort of club card? He couldn't quite recall but it worked. That's all that mattered.

Compliments and emotional vulnerability was hardly the selling point for Hutt Enforcers or Gamorreans in general. Hearing from Xol that his brother would be proud and such felt weird. Gurp was confused as to why it would be said and what it meant. Confusion led to feeling stupid. Being stupid made him sad. Being sad made him angry.

<<Poodoo>> he said grumpily, then nothing else in response. The moment had passed and Gurp moved on from his anger and confusion. It was time to follow the leader to their goal so he could smash some faces.

Gurp proved yet again of his interesting character. When Xol went out of his way to compliment the pig, he seemed to grow tense and angry- the Bounty Hunter was sure his brother had a good relationship with Gurp! Or maybe, it was simply the fact that the Gamorrean had no brains. Luckily, that was why Xol was here and he wasn't going to lose track of his muscly companion just yet. Not until the job was over at least.

Xol sighed and sent Punchee ahead of them to tamper with the security systems so the pair could just get a simple straight shot into the Penthouse.
<"Gurp, you go in first and use that axe of yours. Blasters make loud noises and we need to be quiet."> Then Xol shivered after he realized he was talking to the grown green pig as if it were a below average toddler. At least Xol hoped what he said was simple enough for the Gamorrean warrior to understand.

This was the part that Gurp loved during operations. It was time to go in and use... his axe? The Gamorrean paused just before the turbolift into the penthouse entry hall opened up. He turned to look at Xol and then motioned towards his collection of goods. He patted the pistols on his belt, then the rifle at his back. Finally, he pulled out a rather unimpressive knife from the back of his belt. Every brain cell, not that there were many, was firing off at full power to figure out where an axe would be around here. He managed to deduce, through sheer brain power, that if blasters were too loud... that meant using his knife. That was what Xol meant by Axe maybe. Gurp was unsure so he finally spoke up.

<<Um. Sa ax?>> He said stupidly, holding up the knife for the other one to see.

Unfortunately, this moment of confusion meant that the Gamorrean was not looking down the hallway as the turbolift doors opened. His pudgy body would be up front to exit first as instructed, blocking any view of Xol if someone were in said Hallway. Which... there was. It was hard to say if someone had watched the heavily armed pair walk inside and alerted security, or if the droid had triggered a silent alarm, or if it was just an unlucky day. Whatever the case may be, this hallway was stacked with security waiting for the lift to open up with unauthorized users inside. Gurp didn't see them at all.

Finally, one of them shouted out to the pair. "Hands up! This is a restricted area. Why are you here?" a human with a blastvest on and a pistol in hand had demanded. Behind him were two Twi'leks with similar set ups using some potted plants as cover. At the end of the hall further behind near the door was a fully armored humanoid in henchmen armor of some sort holding an E-11 blaster. To cap it all off, there was also a security droid with a light blaster standing just in front of the heavily armored guard. It was likely a permanent doorman and was being assisted by these fleshy guards today, as there was a charging port next to the door.

Gurp's eyes went wide as he realized what was here. Blasters were too loud according to Xol. This would be so hard to do with just a knife. But there was no choice. The Gamorrean put his hands up, knife still in his left hand as he faced the security team. Due to the wide stature of the pudgy green scoundrel, Xol likely was still invisible to the guards. That was perhaps their only saving grace when Gurp thought he was still restricted to a knife.

Xol didn't like their odds, but by now Punchee would've been able to do his job in tampering with security. It was just bad luck that Xol had to face a crowd of armed baboons with a beefier armed baboon.

Xol saw what Gurp was doing and fell in behind him, making sure his feet were planted behind the pig's to make sure no one could spot the Tognath tailing the larger mercenary. He knew he said that blasters weren't the way to go, but that was because Xol expected the hallway to be empty. Was the Mayor expecting company? Did someone rat Xol out? How did they know that Gurp and Xol were coming?

Then, a new idea popped into the Tognath's head,
<"Change of plans, Gurp."> Xol whispered before coming out of his hiding spot with the flare of a magician. <"We are here for business with your Mayor. But it seems you were expecting business with thugs or pirates. How dare you take my companion and I for such lowlifes!"> The Bounty Hunter folded his arms and looked deeply unimpressed. The new plan was to convince these guys to let them through. If that plan failed...well, Xol didn't come armed and ready for nothing.

<"How much does he pay you, anyway?"> The Tognath inquired blatantly, though, there was a double meaning behind that question. Xol was trying their loyalty- or whatever was keeping them on the job. Hopefully at least one of these guards would mention something about literally anything Xol could use to get these guys to let them on through. Maybe the hated the Mayor as much as Xol hated doing this job!

Aha. Gurp finally understood the new plan. These Guards wouldn't let them in if they thought they were

<<Dwana ax tah u?>> Gurp asked while holding up the knife for the guards to see. The plan was obviously for him to pretend to be an ax salesman going door to door, starting with the mayor. It made such perfect sense. Who didn't want more weapons? The Gamorrean was certain they would buy this act.

"Shoot them!" yelled the guard in front who had been doing the talking, right before he fired a couple blaster bolts at Gurp.

Disappointed that his amazing performance didn't work, Gurp didn't even dodge the shots that came at him. His head drooped down in disappointment almost instantly and one bolt sizzled by his head with a near miss. The other clipped the shoulder armor and pushed the Gamorrean back a step. A loud squeal echoed in the hallway before the knife still in Gurp's hand absolutely launched at the head guard who fired first.

The lead guard gasped in surprise just as the knife plummeted into his unarmored neck. He dropped to his knees as blood spurted and dripped to the floor. The other guards began to open fire too, mostly at the large target. The armored guard and the droid did not fire as they had no clean shots, but stood ready. Gurp threw himself to the side of the hallway where some potted plants stood. None big enough to give full cover but he hadn't been killed yet.

<<Hopa!>> The Gamorrean squealed at Xol as he draw his pistols into his hands behind delicate, slightly exploding cover.

Xol grumbled after the guards opened fire. Gurp's little salesman act was pretty good, too, given how low his IQ probably was. But Xol was prepared for such drastic action and when his Gamorrean ally cried for aid, the Bounty Hunter was ready to help. Sliding to the other plotted plant with his crytosis machete, Xol smacked the blaster out of the guard's hand and then quickly sliced his throat, blood gurgling from the man's neck while tried screaming only to be literally drowned out by his own blood.

Then, the Tognath sheathed his weapon, and regardless of what he said before, there was no way the duo could finish this job without blasters.
Xol's robot arm
swiveled, aiming for the other Twi'lek guard with it's flash pistol and a blinding stunning light sent the Twi'lek into a daze. Xol quick-drew his dual DE-10s and fired away at the guard until he dropped dead.

<"Gurp! Blaster time! I apologize for lying to you!"> Xol said as he ducked for cover after the sentry and his droid began opening fire on the two.

Xol stowed his dual blaster pistols and slung his Amban Phase Pulse rifle into his hard hands, readying to use his flash pistol again to blind at least the sentry so Xol could finish him off. After the fire had stopped for a brief time, the droid arm extended up, barely peeking out of covering and flashed twice to ensure it got both of it's targets.

<"Take out the droid!"> Xol shouted to Gurp before raising his rifle to charge a shot that would take the sentry's head off- another very literal statement.

Stealth was far out the window at this point and blaster fire echoed through the hallway. The Mayor, if he was even inside, would have to know this battle was ongoing by now. Gurp had his pistols in hand now and was easily in range of the enemies inside this small battle venue. His partner seemed to handle the closer enemies and shouted for the Gamorrean to handle the droid. It was easier said than done now that both the Droid and the heavily armored guard had free reign to open fire at them. The poor potted plants were not going to survive all the burns and destruction from the fight, nor would they provide cover for much longer.

<<Nee choo!>> he screamed down at them as he wildly fired towards the partially covered droid. Gurp's voice cracked and made what could only be described as a pig squeal in protest of the loud screaming.

Almost every shot missed. The droid and Gurp had poor angles on each other without leaving cover while the armored guard kept Gurp pinned. There was little choice but to change the angle of attack and risk some damage. A loud chest thump echoed as the Gamorrean pumped himself up for the charge. He lurched out into the hallway towards the other side where another potted plant could cover him. Meanwhile, he fired a couple shots randomly down the hall as cover fire.

More squeals and a sizzling crack followed almost instantly as a blaster bolt connected with Gurp. It was a light blaster shot from the droid and managed to sear through the hide armor a bit. Nothing fatal, but quite painful no matter who you are. He collapsed into the potted plant, shattering the pot and chucking dirt all over. Luckily, a stray cover fire bolt had in fact slapped the droid just enough to knock it out of commission temporarily. Job done... but there were issues. A big guard remained and Gurp was fairly vulnerable.

The Gamorrean's distraction worked like a charm as Xol squeezed the trigger to his pulse rifle, letting the shot surprise him as a golden-yellow stream of plasma barreled it's way into the sentinel's cheek before he could react. The poor guy wasn't even able to scream before he became a pile of dust, henchmen armor, and a heavy blaster to top it off like a cherry on top. The droid, however, quickly retaliated and got two good shots off on the Tognath's left shoulder.

He winced as he flinched back under cover, but there was no time to complain. Xol somehow managed to whistle through his mask- which sounded very distorted and mechanical, but it was still a whistle nonetheless. Soon after, Punchee emerged from a ventilation shaft behind the droid and began utilizing it's illegal shocker arm, aiming for the droids head to grab it's attention.

Xol looked over at Gurp,
<"Now! Together!"> Xol yelled to his companion before standing up and using his good arm to pepper the droid with some blaster fire of his own. With Gurp's help, this walking scrap pile was about to become nothing but a bunch of singed bolts.

A price paid in flesh had assured victory against the droid. Gurp fired a couple shots as he stood and charged forwards. The pile of scrap was outnumbered and outgunned all of a sudden which made for an explosive ending. Now the only obstacle was the door and mayor himself.

<<SMASH!>> The Gamorrean bellowed deeply as he thumped his chest firmly.

It was a straight run to the door. They could go inside and take down their final target if they could open a simple door. Gurp was a simple thug. That seemed a task he could handle! The Gamorrean was fueled by his battle cry and ran full force at the door. He lowed his shoulder and pictured himself crashing through and into the penthouse. It was all his imagination though. Doors for government penthouses were reinforced and even if it was unlocked, it wouldn't just open or fall down when smashed.

Crunch

Bones popped and a thud echoed through the corridor as Gurp bounced off the door and landed on his butt.

Xol sighed after he witnessed the Gamorrean potentially break his shoulder trying to take down a blast door for a government official. So, he hobbled up to his feet, clutching his injured shoulder, and made his way to the locked door. With one hand, he pulled out is set of pick locks and began working on the door, gingerly moving his other hand as to not put his shoulder in any more pain. All the while, Punchee watched their backs, making sure the elevator was inaccessible to anyone, including the two scoundrels.

<"Don't kill him right away. Maybe he'll give us money. Then we'll kill him after he transfers the credits, heheh."> Xol chuckled after the lock clicked and the blast doors opened. With his good arm he held his DE-10 ready to pull the trigger on anyone foolish enough to finish the two off. If Punchee's scans were right, the Mayor was the only target left.

<"No need to hide, Mister Mayor. We are here for business! But it can only be settled with you.">

Gurp liked the idea of squeezing extra credits out. His boss was always happy when loot was found. The Gamorrean gave an understanding nod and thumbs up, which was awkward with a blaster in hand. It wasn't time to wait for the Mayor to give up or somehow escape. It was time to charge in and take down the enemy.

"Konchee u?" the Gamorrean bellowed out as he entered the penthouse loudly.

It was a fairly large home and the Mayor could be hiding anywhere. Gurp stomped all over the place waving his blaster around for a solid minute before there was any sign of the target. The old man was hiding in the shower with a holdout blaster in hand. He fired out as the lumbering oaf entered the refresher room and almost took out the big green pig.

A grunt escaped in surprise before he instinctively fired back towards the source. The Mayor was gravely injured and slid to the floor with a new hole in the chest. Oops. Gurp had messed up again. Xol wanted credits! Maybe if he was lucky, Xol could get it before he died.

<"Damn it, Gurp..."> Xol rolled his eyes and sighed with great disdain after the green pig shot the Mayor square in the chest. The Tognath simply walked up to the Mayor and kicked his little gun out his hand, <"You owe us money for all the trouble you've caused, Bantha-Bitch." Xol muttered darkly, putting the blade of his vibro machete to the man's left thigh, pressing down light enough to hurt without break through the skin. Then, with his other hand, he gingerly pulled out a stym and jabbed it into the Mayor's neck. It wouldn't save his life if he didn't receive medical attention after it wore off, but it would give him enough adrenaline to keep his heart from shutting off.

He brought the Mayor to his feet and kept his blade on the man's back as Xol guided him to his work desk with a very nice datapd laying on top of it. Xol made the Mayor sit down, keeping the blade at his neck and closely watching over his shoulder.
<"Transfer the credits to my datapad- 100,000 for the both of us. If you try anything, I'll keep you alive so I can have fun with you in the Mighty Nor'baal's torture chambers- How does that sound?"> Spat the Tognath, pressing the blade a little harder on the mayor's neck.

<"Gurp, break the back windows for our escape. No one's getting up that elevator thanks to my beloved Punchee, so we'll need a way down."> He explained to the Gamorrean, keeping steady watch over the Mayor and his banking account. He was a political figure, and as such, Xol expected him to have more credits than Gareth Gin himself- especially with how expensive looking everything was in the room the Mayor slept in. If the two scoundrels couldn't get what they wanted, Xol would have to see about a new torture technique he had been wanting to try out lately.

Gurp watched with interest as the Mayor clung to life by a thread and Xol demanded credits. The Gamorrean thug was not one to understand the datapad work so he left that to his partner. He was a bit confused how jumping out the window of a tower would be good but he listened to the plan hoping there was one. A single heavy blast from the rifle weakened the main window in the living room before a solid kick shattered it. That was a simple job done!

<<Lorda. Choy ateema?>> Gurp proudly said into the communications device to reach Nor'baal. ( @Nor'baal )

He stood at the shattered window down the big drop below. No feths were given about whether the mayor was executed or slowly died, he was done with the job and he'd make his boss happy. Gurp processed the fall and wondered if he would survive it or could make the jump to the next building. No proactive actions were taken (probably a good thing) as he waited.

<Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurp.> a rattling belch echoed around the dank confines of Nor'baal the Hutts inner sanctum as he gobbled down a fried monkey-lizard, enjoying the high life the good work of his minions afforded him. With an irritable grumble, he reached for his beeping comlink as he heard the guttural tones of his porcine protector over the line.

<<Lorda. Choy ateema?>>

<Ho! Ho! Ho! Uba gee woy tee Gurp, an kacmhata mee Lorda. Mee ketea doth douwoheh. Kloonkee bai bu bmoladahu, daee foboba, Jee gee wa uemah chake bai koose uba bata bai bu Bunko, peee uba lwaa doth uyat cay wa tam rulya che mee jokatla, an wa masoi du mee yanay!> the Gamorrean was a simple person to please, more weapons and food the only payment he normally expected.

As for the Tognath? <An che uba, Xol, bu phabeka uba bakanu, cua wa tam Aplebanka Keepuna, an wa jedahbanola see k'wanna- don keemon dokwacha phabeka che wa hotpaka tee woy. Whao vee uba dayan awela, bu lhonu Nor'baal lwaa doth kolka bai mo fa.>

Finally, the Hutt smiled as he relished in the fact he was a step closer to his goal. He activated the comlink one more time and spoke to Gurp <Cat bu Bohdatky bphedkodi, dotkot wa koushonbe bkokee see ba Doaha. Koose fa nei.> he added, before turning to comlink off, and booming with laughter.

The mission was complete, and a luxury transport was ready and waiting to bring his people home.
