GOTG_Milano_Flight.jpg

Affiliation: N/A

Ownership: Anyone that wants to use one, though they tend to be on the more expensive side.

Intent: Primarily to provide my PC Magnus Valen with a small personal starfighter. It's also to provide players with a small, generic, non faction-specific starfighter focused entirely on hyper maneuverability over speed. It could see use amongst the Republic or Sith just as easily as in the hands of a pirate or smuggler.

Model: RMF-13 'Orbwalker'-class

Name: The Starhunter (Magnus' version)

Dimensions:
Length: 15m
Width: 27m
Height: 7m (at thickest point of the chassis)

Class: Starfighter

Crew: 1 pilot, 1 astromech/AI

Complement: N/A

Armament:
  • 2x mounted front-facing dual laser cannons
  • 2x seeking missile launchers (holds 5 missiles each)
  • 1x mounted front-facing small ion cannon
Equipment:
  • Military-grade ray shield
  • 2x wing-mounted directional thrusters
  • HoloNet uplink
  • Emergency ejection system
  • Additional inertial dampeners
  • Voice recognition module (optional feature)
  • Emergency life support
Speed: 75 MGLT

Hyperdrive Rating: Class 5

Maneuverability: One may notice that the Orbwalker is much slower than other starfighters of its size. This ship was not intended for interception; it was designed with maximum maneuverability in mind. Equipped with several directional thrusters, the Orbwalker can perform hairpin turns and a myriad of other physics-defying maneuvers a pilot could only dream of. Despite the ship's low top speed, its additional thrusters provide it with jaw-dropping acceleration, being capable of reaching its maximum velocity within the span of a few seconds. Its additional inertial dampeners help prevent the pilot from being affected by the accumulated g-force.

Description: The "Orbwalker" was designed to be one of the best dogfighting ships on the market through superior maneuverability. The starfighter is equipped with two additional wing-mounted directional thrusters - overkill to some, but these upgrades certainly pay off in the right hands. However, its slow top speed means it is best used in situations that require defending a target instead of chasing down an enemy.
The small ion cannon can provide supporting fire, but requires the pilot to redirect power from the wing-mounted thrusters to operate. After firing, the ship will be unable to perform advanced maneuvers for a few moments, effectively reducing its maneuverability to that of a regular starfighter.

Seems a bit to fast. 75 mglt is not slow. So i would just remove that part about low top speed. All so theatrically you have no top speed since it is space. Everything is acceleration.

I did the speed calculation based on this image from Wookieepedia -
180

Based on the graph, the Starhunter would be the same speed as the Milennium Falcon, a freighter, and 25 MGLT slower than an X-Wing, a standard starfighter at the time. Unless ships are slower in this timeline, 75 MGLT isn't very fast as far as small fighters go.

I'll fix the part about acceleration.

It would make sense for every thing to be a bit slower. All so the falcon is fast. I am not saying drop the speed just saying she is not slow not fast about average. Since the generic fighter is about this speed.

Yes, the Falcon is fast (for a freighter), but it is still a freighter, and nearly 3 times the size of this starship.
The generic fighter that Clayton has provided has an MGLT of 90, which is still 15 higher than what I have listed. If I do drop it, it's only going to be by a little bit.

I'm gonna have to agree with @Shalken here. They're completely different classes of ship.

Don't drop it, then it would be slow. A 75mlg fighter focusing on agility is great. Don't ruin it. Most dog fights are turning fights in the forum. Never seen any one use speed to win a dog fight. In the odd large navel battle fast ships are handy but in the more common dog fight speed is good for one thing only. Running away.

Hmm, expand on the Intent please. It should contain all the OOC of why this is needed, what does it offer that other profiles don't, etc.

Updated. I've also made several changes across the entire submission, especially in the description.
