Not so long ago on a system not so far far away...

Dagobah.

Cayde felt the call to the swamp planet for so long and he was glad to have finally he heeded unto it's call. The great Grandmaster Yoda once dwelled on this very planet because of it's powerful Force presence.
When the Jedi Knight stepped out of his YT-1930, his senses went berserk as soon as he stepped onto the squishy ground- so much history took place here that the Jedi wanted to learn. But that was not why he had come here. Cayde's fear had been plaguing him for quite some time now, and ironically, the Force guided him to the very source of that fear. A cave filled with the Dark Side.

At first, Cayde doubted himself and thought that maybe the Force had been wrong to bring him here. As he turned away from the dark cave that made his skin crawl, a man in grey and white robes he didn't sense had been sitting on a log. Cayde stared at his milky eyes- he was blind, but staring right back at Cayde. It was pretty unsettling, but his voice calmed any nervousness inside him like a wave of peace and comfort.

"The Force is with you, Cayde Isla. What stops you from becoming one with it?" The blind man said simply. Cayde had to blink twice before processing what he had just said. "My name...how did you..." For some reason, Cayde didn't feel any fear in the presence of this man. He sensed that everything was alright, and that for some reason, this needed to happen. For Cayde's sake.

"When you are one with the Force, all can be deciphered. But you need to only ask. Have you asked yet?" This guy was super cryptic, but Cayde knew exactly what he was talking about. Cayde didn't fit in with the Jedi's Code. It wasn't his path- Passion was apart of life, but with control there could be balance. But...Cayde didn't know where else he could go and receive further guidance.

"That's why I am here."

"That cave will show you no answer until you ask."

"What else will it show me?"

"Wrong question." The man smiled warmly the way a teacher did when a Youngling caught on to part of the lesson that wasn't supposed to be taught just yet.

"I need to know where I'm supposed to go. There can't just be nothing left out there in space." Cayde said solemnly.

"I was once blind, but I see clearly, Cayde Isla. I see your soul, the doubt within it. There is an Eternal Perspective to every question worth answering, and yet you ask short-term and short-lived questions." Cayde wanted to scowl at the blind man and tell him off for saying something so personal. Cayde had been struggling with his identity for so long and...The Jedi could only sigh. He was upset because the man was right. Cayde troubled himself with menial questions that he could probably answer himself. Cayde had heard of the Guardians of the Whills and how their code fit everything Cayde wanted to live by. But something still tugged at the edge of his mind. Something the Jedi had seemingly been reluctant to teach Cayde and the rest of the Order.

"You're wrong." Cayde said calmly. "My question is worth answering. I wish to know what happens after we die." Cayde wondered if that was the better question.

"You already know that." The man responded with a good natured chuckle.

"Is there a way for me to live on? To guide my loved ones from beyond the grave? To never truly die?" Cayde pleaded, knowing the man knew the answer. There was so much despair from the thought that one simply joined the Force after they died- it was still as simple as saying you won't be anything anymore besides a tool for others. There had to be a way to continue on. A way to be with Cayde's good friends and for him to continue guide other lost souls to salvation.

That was what Cayde seeked.

Salvation.

The blind man simply stood up and began to slowly fade away as he bowed respectfully to Cayde who could only watch in awe.

"You are ready for the cave, Cayde Isla. Become one with the Force a I have and you will find your long sought after Salvation." The voice rattled Cayde's brain as it seemed to emanate from seemingly everywhere! Whoever this was, they had found the very thing the Jedi Knight had been searching for for as long as he could remember. Joy like no other filled his soul as he closed his eyes to take in the last bits of peace before facing whatever dwelt inside that cursed cave.

As he turned to face his next milestone, he looked over at the log where that man had been sitting- and for the briefest of moments that seemed to feel like forever, he saw hundreds of men and women standing behind the log. All had truly become one with the Force as what Cayde sought after. All had found Salvation and guided others to it the way they had been. He saw familiar faces that amazed every inch of the full grown man, making him feel like a child as he laid eyes upon such figures of immense status among the Force. They all smiled upon Cayde and his decision, and like the Man Who Could See, they all faded away.

But Cayde was not alone.

And the cave seemed to have lost it's frightful aura for a moment or two.
