He gave her a small grin at her comment before cloud passed over his face. "Shiphrah was... is... my sister. She..." he sighed, it was hard for him to think about her, "We were very close. She was a lot like you, happy, free, a lover of simple things and a simple life, lively, active, pretty... just someone who got the most out of life. She was curious, too, and loved to have fun. She was my only companion as I was growing up. My race isn't very social. We would spend a lot of time together," he iterated, stopping there. If she wanted to hear more, he would tell, but he didn't want to hurt himself voluntarily by choosing to go there himself. However, he could not hide the look in his eyes that said there was something much deeper, something in the depths of his soul that was very affected by what he left dangling.

Compassionate eyes held his as he began to speak about his sister. Lillianne smiled as he spoke of how lively she was, noting how his face seemed to brighten as he remembered how she was, yet when speaking of her in the present, there was a pain there.

"What happened to her?" Lillianne asked, her voice filled with concern, knowing a part of him wanted to tell her, painful though it was.

A part of him hand hoped and dreaded her asking that question, but he pushed himself to continue, "We were... the best of friends, until she grew to where she grew more interested in male Anzats around her age. One especially, a kind of daredevil, but nice. One day he took her on a kind of trip to see the galaxy. Shiphrah sent letters to me, still telling me how she was doing... some of the stuff she talked about made me... I dunno... feel sick inside. When... soon after the letters stopped, she came back..." he paused, throat tightening as his words choked him, "She wasn't the same. there had been a lot of serious things that had happened to her, including her boyfriend's death and her getting injured... right after one another, like, within a couple hours of each other. She... she had... lost her mind. I've... been taking care of her ever since," he stopped, pain blossoming through him once more as he remembered, but a kind that lifted the burden of keeping it to himself for so long, and kind of painful freedom.

"That's even one of the reasons I came here; I wanted to try and get help for her," he told her in a very quiet voice.

Lillianne listened with rapt attention, nodding at the right moments, but not daring to interrupt him. She knew this was difficult for him to recount. Yet, when the young man seemed choked up, she reached a comforting hand out to reassure him and tried to catch his eyes.

"You've held this burden alone for a long long time, haven't you?" she asked in a quiet, soothing voice. "Have you talked to the High Priest about her condition? to any of the Bendu Priests to see what can be done?"

He looked up at her when he felt her hand brush his arm before he answered, "No... I came to them at first to ask for help, but the informed me of my potential and... I didn't get a chance. It is hard for me," he answered, very quietly. His heart felt light now that he had told her, and that she seemed to care. She was such a wonderful girl.

((Sorry so short))

"Then it's time you did so," she said with finality. "Why don't you take the rest of the afternoon off and speak with one of the priests, or request an audience with the High Priest himself. Now that you're a part of us, you are no longer alone, River," she said, smiling. "We're all family here. Besides, the day has been long. I ask only that you think upon what has been said today and practice."

OOC: Baccie needs to see your character anyway...lol. Just post again as if it's the next day or wait until after you've talked to Bac.

((I already posted a question on the Matter of Concern thread, directed towards Bac, and partially towards you, I guess. I had better wait for the interview with Bac is over, because it might have a lot of effects on what happens afterwards))

River nodded slowly, still unsure of himself and taking time away from the High Priest himself about something so below someone of that rank. However, for Lily's sake, he would try. "Bye, Lily," he said, getting up and walking back towards the building itself and to his room, where he began to draw up the courage to seek an audience with Josiah Rendar, absently stroking the pendent around his neck.
