Ranutrian Fio-Bat arrived at the Monastery via a starship taxi from Coruscant. Also known as Ran, he sat down on the ground, awaiting the person who was to be his Master. Ran was wearing black pants, a belt, a crimson cloak and no shirt (revealing his strong muscles) to get some air, as he felt comfortable shirtless.
Ran took in the beauty of the landscape around him.

Walking out into the surrounding grounds about the Monastery, Jedi Knight Kidd Vegas was pleased to see the young padawan sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air and scenery. He had to admit himself that he too, was glad to be back on Tython and away from Coruscant. It just seemed dirty, cramped, and unnatural there. At least here, the planet was teeming with flora and fauna as far as the eye could see.

Apparently this young man was more of a naturalist, preferring to go topless about the grounds as he enjoyed the morning air. Kidd quirked a half-grin to himself, bobbing his head lightly. They would have good times together; he could tell already. Calling out, Vegas' chin lifted as he spoke aloud, "Ranutrian!! Jedi Padawan Ranutrian Fio-Bat!!" As he approached the young man, he would extend a hand in greeting, welcoming him to the Jedi Monastery on Tython.

Ranutrian stood up and bowed. "Master Vegas. I've heard good things about you," he said. "Is my outfit okay?" he asked half-jokingly.

Instead of chastising the young padawan on being a bit prideful, Kidd decided to take a different route as he quirked a humored smirk, "Can you make your pecs dance?" Giving a wink, he chuckled as he shook his head, exhaling a chuckle of sorts. Clapping his hands together, he stated, "The show of your physique may impress the ladies around here young Padawan, but I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree if you're attempting to woo me."

Clicking his tongue a few times as he shook his head again, Kidd tilted his head out towards the nearby forested area. "Come. Le's take a walk," he said simply, without giving him much of a chance to respond before himself turning on a heel and beginning to step out towards the trees. Walking along for a few quiet moments, he corrected as he raised a finger, glancing back briefly, "And I'm only a Knight; not a Master."

"So," he started, walking along at a rather brisk pace, "What are you seeking t'learn from your training?" It was a simple enough question. The answer would help determine their regime for the next few weeks. Kidd Vegas was hoping to get a glance into the young man's soul as well. Hopefully it wouldn't be a one or two-word answer, but rather a response with some substance... some meat to it. He hoped...

Ran shuddered at Vegas' first comment.
"I want to learn about the ways of the Force. I wish to bend the pathetic laws of physics to prove to skeptics that the Force is real. I also want to destroy the Dark Side."

((FYI: As much effort as you put into this thread will be mirrored by myself.))

Stating simply, Kidd replied, "Pathetic laws of physics? Why such the disdain for science?" He shook his head lightly, thinking that they had -quite- a bit of meditation and reflection ahead.

Ran gulped. "I have a vast appreciation for science, but it just feels so... limited. That is the reason I became a Jedi."
Ran hoped his new Master would be at least slightly lenient. He wanted to learn quickly.

(sorry about the short posts I'm just really busy)

((OOC: Then don't worry about posting until you have more time to create better responses and put more depth into your character development.))

Quirking an eyebrow, Kidd inquired, "You simply....decided... to become a Jedi?"

"Actually, I did. I realized I was Force-sensitive when I was thirteen because I accidentally made my friend Eveskim inflate like a balloon... I felt horrible afterwards. She's usually very skinny so she had to get some kind of surgery to return to normal size. I still don't know why it happened."
Ran quickly stopped thinking about Eveskim. The incident didn't bother him anymore, but just thinking about her upset him. He missed her already. Ran changed the subject.
"I... love it here on Tython," said Ran.

Where did -that- come from? Kidd thought to himself. Quirking an eyebrow, he studied the young man for a moment. He nearly asked the young padawan why he had expanded her so, or perhaps what her significance was that he would do such a thing to her, but he decided against it; deciding instead to move along with his training.

Glancing about the forested area as they walked, the Knight inquired, "What specifically do you want to bend in regards to the laws of physics?" Then, as if suddenly hit with another thought, he stopped as he turned to face the young man, a sincere look upon his face as he asked, "And what do you know about the dark side?"

"I want to make things levitate and fly... I consider that bending physics. It seems rather fun. And I know lots about the dark side. The main thing about it, at least in my opinion is, use it for good purposes on occasion but never tamper with it excessively."

His answer regarding the dark side wasn't exactly an in-depth one. Unsatisfied with it, Kidd replied, "Expound on your knowledge of the dark side. What powers do you speak of specifically?" He'd go more into the idea behind using the dark side for good later, but for now, he would hear the young man out.

"The power to manipulate. Forceful, painful, plaguing power." Ran trembled slightly. "Sometimes it is the only way to sway an opinion... or someone's motives."

Shaking his head lightly, Kidd interjected, "I disagree, and while you're my Padawan, use of such powers is strictly forbidden. Are we clear?" He quirked an inquisitive eyebrow at the young Padawan.

"Sorry. Yes, we are clear." Ranutrian shuddered. He hated being corrected, even if it was the smallest thing.
Before he could stop himself, Ranutrian asked the most childish question one could ask: "When do I get my lightsaber?"

"One thing at a time," Kidd replied, then glanced over his shoulder with a smirk as he added, "Keep up." With that, the Knight took off running through the forested area, assisted by the Force as trees and rocks flew past in a blur.

Ranutrian gritted his teeth and began sprinting after the Jedi Knight. He suddenly felt a supernatural feeling assisting him. Ran recognized this feeling as the Force. He was not as fast as Vegas but wasn't too far behind.

With a look over his shoulder, Kidd smiled back at the young Padawan. Suddenly, he turned about and outstretched a hand upwards, grabbing hold of a tree branch and allowing his momentum to swing him up into the air nearly thirty feet.

His previous mentor had taught him the art of free running, force-assisted style, heh. As he landed atop a large branch, he watched to see how the young padawan would make his way up...

Ranutrian gritted his teeth. He closed his eyes and tapped into the Force. Ran's fingers suddenly became sticky. His fingers clung to the tree and he slowly made his way up to the branch that Vegas was on.

Nodding his head lightly in approval, Kidd stated, "Good adaptation padawan. You didn't let my actions dictate your response. You saw the desired goal and accomplished it utilizing your own style." Smiling broadly, he reassured the young man, "Well-played Sir."

With that, the Knight leapt up to grab hold of the next branch, a mere 10 feet up. Pushing himself past it while airborne, he glanced back to see if Ranutrian was following. Soon, he'd be at the very top of the tree. Well, as far up as the branches would support them both anyway...
