The Vesajilic Clan

340375.jpg

For millenniums the name Vesajilic has been both respected and feared on Nal Hutta. The Vesajilic Clan use to be one of the most powerful ruling Hutt families and has always held at least one seat on the Hutt Grand Council. A century of mismanagement by Suako the Hutt resulted in the family losing a great deal of its influence and wealth though.

Eventually an internal power struggle broke out within the clan and His Great Obesity Durggorra the Hutt, cousin to Suako the Hutt, wrestled over control of the Vesajilics. Durggorra has recently been rebuilding the clan's influence and strives to consolidate power on Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa.

The exact sphere of influence of the Vesajilics is hard to determine because the family is behind multiple organizations and actions, sometimes openly and sometimes secretly. The family is most infamously associated with their criminal cartel, known among Hutts as the Vesajilic Kajidic. Publicly the Vesajilics own Vesa Corporation, an arms manufacturer that specializes in war droid technology. Vesa Corporation serves doubly as a legitimate front for the families illegal operations.

Vesajilic Kajidic

The Vesajilic Kajidic is the organized crime syndicate ran by the Vesajilic Hutts. Once a massive entity that executed crime in every corner of the galaxy the Vesajilic Kajidic has recently lost much of its influence due to Suako's poor leader. Just in time to save the organizations from total annihilation His Great Obesity Durggorra the Hutt became the new family head and immediately began to reverse the downward slide. Durggorra the Hutt now works diligently to restore both his clans and the Kajidic's former levels of power, for the two organizations blur the line of being one in the same.

There are four pillars of crime in the kajidic, each cover a broad spectrum of illicit activities, these pillars make up the different divisions of the cartel, they are: Protection, Transportation, Trafficking and Information. Each pillar is managed by an underboss, the four underbosses in turn all answer to the boss of the kajidic, these five individuals are usually all prominent members of the Vesajilic Hutt family.

Protection mainly refers to piracy, but also includes extortion, ransoming and debt collection. Transportation refers primarily to two things, smuggling and thievery. Trafficking includes slaving and the sale of illegal substances/drugs. The Information Pillar covers bounty hunter brokering, information broking, and gambling rackets.

The Vesajilic Kajidic is managed by a network of individuals with a rank system that insulates the higher ranking members from prosecution via a series of buffers. Everyone that works in the Kajidic receives their orders directly from the member above them. This means that the perception of the organization's scope to any single individual is limited by the number of members beneath them within their pillar of organization. No one can be sure how deep the organization runs throughout the galaxy except for those at the very top.

Organization and Ranks

Boss: The kingpin of the organization and also the Vesajilic clan leader. The boss is the head honcho responsible for steering the Kajidic's direction and collectively managing the four pillars of crime.

Underboss:
There are four underbosses within the cartel and each manage one of the four pillars of the organization. Underbosses are Vesajilic family members concerned with the big picture of their particular pillar and do not actually run the day to day operations, they leave that to their respective overseer.

Overseer: Serving directly under each underboss and actively managing each pillar of crime is an overseer. The four overseers are the lieutenants and right hand men of the underbosses. This is the highest rank in the Vesajilic Kajidic non-Hutts usually obtain. These individuals are extremely capable and have been rewarded with their position because of their long term loyalty to the Hutts.

Organizer: Every operation, project or "job" carried out by the cartel has a mastermind behind it, these masterminds are known as organizers. Organizers are the leaders and brains in charge of specific operations. A secondary duty of organizers is finding and sponsoring new initiates into the organization.

Executor:
Executors are veteran members of the organization who have proven their ability and loyalty. They are entrusted to communicate with organizers and are known as the eyes and ears of the organization.

Enforcer: Enforcers are the bread and butter of the cartel and make up the majority of the organization's membership. Once an initiate is made a full member of the organization they are known as an enforcer. Enforcers are the muscle of the Kajidic and come in a wide variety of thugs and soldiers.

Initiate: Initiates are not yet officially within the organization as they have yet to prove themselves. An organizer will approach someone outside of the Kajidic with the offer of potential membership, if they accept they become initiates. Over time the organizer will monitor the initiate's progress and eventually judge if they are worthy of fully joining.

Vesa Corporation

(VB3 - Elite Battle Droid) - Individual product pictures coming later

The Vesa Corporation is a brand new arms manufacturer and dealer that specializes in droid technology, the company is controlled through its board of directors by the Vesajilic Clan. Everyone on the board is either one of the Hutts or a highly trusted and capable associate who is close to the family and was brought on as an investor. At the moment the Vesa Corporation is most well known for its battle droid production, the company also sells traditional small arms and has privately designed several spacecraft schematics. The research and development program within the Vesa Corporation is highly developed and has many functions, both publicly and secretly.

His Great Obesity, Durggorra the Hutt is the current chairman of the board of directors. The position allows him to keep a close watch on his clan's new business. The corporation is a fresh investment project of the clan and one which Durggorra hopes in this time of galactic war will allow war profiteering and iron mongering. The new company is Durggorra's other action to rebuild the Vesajilic Clan. Conveniently the Vesa Corporation also serves as a legitimate business front to the Vesajilic Kajidic.

Currently The Vesa Corporation owns and operates only a singe foundry on Nal Hutta. Attached to the factory are the corporations' headquarters, main offices and research and development laboratories. This foundry is capable of producing battle droids and small arms. The company's R&D department has designed and engineered several spacecraft schematics but the company owns no shipyards. Sometimes the company will contract out third party shipyards for production. Currently the R&D program is looking to expand into and develop armored droid combat ground vehicles.

The following are products offered for public sale by the Vesa Corporation, produced by its Nal Hutta foundry:

(In addition to these battle droids, normal small arm weapons can be ordered in bulk, or specialty weapons can be designed.)

Vesa Battle Droid (VB1 - Battle Droid)

The Vesa Corporation's improved version of the old B1 battle droid which saw major use during the clone wars. The VB1 has been brought up to speed and updated with modern technology. All VB1s carry a blaster rifle and are able to operate vehicles or crew capital ships. VB1 - Battle Droids are cheap and effective, deployed in swarms to overwhelm enemies. While no longer needing a central slave computer to function, the VB1's warfare capabilities are significantly improved when wired to one.

Vesa Super Battle Droid (VB2 - Super Battle Droid)

Another of the models improved by the Vesa Corporation the VB2 is an updated version of the old super battle droid that was popular during the clone wars. More expensive than the VB1, the VB2 carries heavier armor and firepower, its left hand is a double blaster cannon and its right a grenade launcher. Like the VB1 the VB2 does not need a central slave computer to operate, but groups of them fight more effectively when linked to one. The VB2 is more expensive than the VB1 and capable to go toe to toe with normal soldiers.

Vesa Elite Battle Droid (VB3 - Elite Battle Droid)

An entirely new design by the Vesa Corporation the VB3 is the poster child of the company. VB3s are elite independent thinking and agile combat droids with superior intelligence and heavier armor. Their design is based off the Hunter Killer(HK) series. They are also able to use a wide variety of ranged and melee weapons. They are obviously one of Vesa Corporation's most expensive models. Their main feature is the ability to be upgraded with different software and programing that enables them specialized roles.

VB3s are used in a large range of activities. They can serve as personal bodyguards, elite commando squads, or droid special forces supporting larger droid armies. They can also make exceptional assassins or high security personnel. Vesa Elite Battle Droids do not need slave computers because they have individual advanced functional computer minds, they are still able to coordinate with other droids through communication though.

Vesa Droideka Mark I (Vesa Destroyer Droid)

Similar to how the VB1 is an improved version of the B1, the Vesa Droideka is the improved version of the original Droideka. It has been updated with modern technology and made a viable option in today's galaxy. Their personal shield generators and double heavy blaster cannons make them an exceptional threat to infantry. In wheel form they are capable of very fast speed and deployment, although vulnerable to attack. The extensive features of a Droideka makes one more expensive than either a VB1 or VB2 though.

Vesa Droideka Mark II (Vesa Destroyer Droid)

The Vesa Droideka Mark II is an upgrade from Zann Consortium's Droideka Mark II. Different from normal droidekas the mark II can use both blasters and ion cannons alike, making it effective against vehicles. The Vesa mark II also boosts more firepower than its predecessor with a third twin cannon. Add in its heavier shields and the Vesa Droideka Mark II is suddenly effectively a mobile turret. They are capable of eliminating squadrons of infantry, artillery encampments and individual ground vehicles alike. Extremely deadly but also more expensive than the Mark I.

Vesa Droideka Mark III (Vesa Destroyer Droid)

The second of the two completely new designs developed by Vesa Corporation the Mark III Vesa Destroyer Droid is flight capable. While in wheel form the Mark III can twirl through the air at high speeds. Once deployed the Mark III is able to float about significantly slower using repuslors.

Like the Mark II the Mark III can use its twin-blaster cannons also as ion cannons against vehicles. With the ability to fly this droid can deliver death from the air, the perfect compliment to any droid army or security force. Their flight capabilities also make them the fastest yet response to security threats when used defensively. The Mark III is equipped with only two twin-cannons and has shielding similar to that of the Mark I therefore costs about the same as a Mark II.

Private Research

The Vesa Corporation as mentioned has private research and development projects on the side for a few different causes. The majority of the work is associated with the Vesajilic Kajidic but the department is for hire by anyone with enough credits.

The Blood Sport

175342.jpg

Launching "The Blood Sport" was one of two acts recently taken by His Great Obesity, Durggorra the Hutt to revitalize the Vesajilic Clan. He is giving the galaxy something he thinks it craves in these dark times, blood and violence. The Blood Sport is a spectator sport on Nal Hutta based on gladiatorial matches that take place in giant public colosseums.

Gladiators are usually slaves who have been bought and trained at special schools called Ludi (ludus singular) and welded into professional fighters. The prize money for tournaments can be monumental, collected by the patron of the gladiator that wins. Large crowds are drawn to watch the blood spills and often crowd favorites rise up out of various successful gladiators. There is an endless amount of credits to be made through the heavy gambling, admissions and collection of prizes.

The Vesajilics just finished building the first Blood Sport gladiatorial Colosseum on Nal Hutta. The clan also owns and operates its own ludus where skilled gladiators train.

Vesajilic Fortress

175323.jpg

Home to most of the Vesajilic Hutts, the Vesajilic Fortress serves both as a secure stronghold and basin of lavish luxury. The Hutt's citadel contains everything the clan’s leaders could ever need. In-fact, when paranoid, some of the Hutts have been known not to leave the palace for weeks at a time.

The Vesajilic Fortress is a catacomb of chambers and tunnels lined with redundant security measures and an abundance of guards. There are three sections to the fortress: the main center, the east tower and the west tower.

The center section is the largest and contains the private palaces of each individual family member, guest quarters, the grand audience chamber and several smaller audience chambers. There are also other various lounges, halls, dining rooms and extensive kitchens scattered throughout this area.

The east tower from top to bottom houses the security control room, a security vault, the clan's council chamber, an armory, the guard barracks, the security droid pool and a warehouses. The west tower from top to bottom houses the ship hangars, a large motor pool, a non-combat droid pool, the slave quarters and the dungeons.

Grand Audience Chamber

The Grand Audience Chamber has been the Vesajilic's seat of power for centuries and is primarily reserved for the clan's current leader. Here the Hutt family presents a unified face to the public as it is not uncommon for other family members to join the clan leader in holding court. The chamber is fairly large, with a vast open ceiling. From this chamber His Great Obesity, Durggorra the Hutt manages the Vesajilic Clan.

The audience chamber is almost always busy and occupied by a large variety of individuals. To provide entertainment during slow periods live music and dancers fill the center space. There are kitchens that can keep up with the appetites of the Hutts attached directly to the left. There is also a slaves and servants entrance on the left wall, including a prep room for the dancers and performers.

His Great Obesity's elevated dais is located on the center back wall, surrounded by guards and slaves, with live food tanks and a hookah attached. There are several other lower daises that form a semi-circle around the main one, intended for any other Vesajilics that hold court with the clan leader. There is an exit directly behind the daises in the event of an attack on the audience chamber. This exit also leads to some private lounges to let the Hutts relax in. For security measures, see the "Internal Security" section.

Since coming to power Durggorra has made one major renovation to the Grand Audience Chamber. He has installed a massive aquatic tank to the right of the audience chamber that houses his two monstrous pet dragonsnakes. The entire right wall has been replaced with a very thick blast proof glass wall that allows viewing into the tank. His two massive pets can be seen swimming all day above the court. There is a loft near the ceiling of the Grand Audience chamber with an exposed pit to the tank where His Great Obesity can have those he dislikes thrown to the monsters. It is a regular sight at court to see victims drowned and torn apart by the two dragonsnakes.

External Security

The Hutts are truly paranoid when it comes to their security, the Vesajilic Fortress is literally that, a fortress. The entire outside of the building is covered with thick reinforced durasteel plates that offer rather solid protection from assault. The security control room has twice as thick armor as the rest of the fortress. There are a dozen bunkers built into the outside of the palace with a twin-laser cannon attached to each. Three bunkers on each tower and six on the center section. Each bunker can house six guards carrying small arms in addition to the mounted twin-laser cannon and its gunner. At least one sentry mans each bunker around the clock. Besides the guard's normal armament, the ones in bunkers also carry thermal detonators.

The Vesajilics like to hold their cards close to their chest, having those that would attack them underestimate the fortress’s defense. Hence there are an additional six concealed automated twin-laser cannons that deploy in the event of an attack. There are also eight concealed concussion missile launchers built into the exterior which are usable against aircraft, vehicles or clusters of infantry. Finally, there are of course a myriad of cameras and sensors that are monitored from the security control room.

There is only one entrance; the front gate which is a set of two extra heavy blast doors that operate like an airlock. The first door will open admitting visitors into a gate chamber, the first door then seals and the second door will finally open. Inside the gate chamber are four concealed blaster cannons on the walls and ceiling. The chamber is also able to be filled with dioxis. The Vesajilics have been known to invite guests to their fortress with their only intention being to lay a trap for them inside the gate chamber.

Outside the gate is covered directly by three of the mentioned bunkers, two of the concealed laser cannons and two of the missile launchers. At all times the gate is manned by at least eight guards, four outside, two within the gate chamber and two just beyond. Clearance to the fortress is given only by the security control room which has a direct holo link to the gate.

There are some secret passageways that exit the palace known only to a few of the Hutts; since they are only used as emergency escapes they do not open from the outside. The only other ways in are through either the hangar entrance, which is built into the roof or the motor pool entrance which is several floors above ground level. The Hutts with all of their vulnerabilities in mind have security measures in place here as well. The entrances to both remain sealed except for when in use and are monitored by sensors and guards when opened. In the event of an attack while open, four twin-laser cannons are in each hangar. The hangars also seal off from the rest of the palace with blast doors.

Internal Security

Getting past the defenses outside and entering the Vesajilic fortress is only half of the problem. Inside the complex swarms with guards who are a mix of various Vesa Corporation battle droids as well as Weequays, Gamorreans, Niktos, Klatooinians and Vodrans who all operate constant patrols and checkpoints. The guards carry an assortment of blasters rifles, blaster pistols, slughthrowers, vibroswords, vibrostaves and wear heavy armor. Blast doors zone off the fortress in more than a dozen locations. Lastly, there are several droideka dispensers strategically scattered throughout the palace. These dispensers allow a rapid deployment and fast response to threats anywhere in the fortress.

Enjoying further hidden security the Hutts have installed concealed blaster cannons and concussion missile launchers throughout the fortress. Everything is managed and monitored from the security control room. From the control room most areas are monitored closely via hidden bugs and cameras. The Vesajilics like to know everything that goes on within their domain. The only exception is a few private bug free chambers that are used when secrecy is of the up most importance.

Since His Great Obesity and the other family members spend a great deal of time in the Grand Audience Chamber meeting with outsiders it has the heavy security measures you would expect from paranoid crimelords. There are only four ways into the Grand Audience Chamber. First there is the main entrance through the ante-chamber which is the only mode of entry and exit intended for visitors and guests. Second, there is an entrance/exit into the adjoining kitchen. The slaves and servants quarters attached also has its own entrance/exit. Finally, there is an exit behind the daises that leads to some private lounges intended only for the Hutts and as an emergency escape route. All of the entrances are blast doors and manned by guards, entry through them requires a security check from the control room. There are weapon scanners at all of the entrances. Guards will take away all weapons from outsiders and the scanners do recognize lightsabers.

There is an especially large amount of concealed blaster cannons built into the walls and ceiling to compliment the heavy contingent of guards. The guards as always are a mix of both the usual alien species and Vesa Corporation battle droids. For instant reinforcements there is a hidden dorideka dispenser built into the rear wall to the right of the daises.

Lastly, to further protect any Hutts the simple push of a button on any of the daises activates a small shield generator built under each dais that projects a shield around the dais and the Hutt on top of it.

Description: While the Vesa Corporation does not currently own any facilities capable of spacecraft production, the company has designed and maintains ownership over several schematics. The "Wolf" Corvette is one of those schematics, to contract production private orders can be placed through Vesa Corporation who can use third party shipyards. Although marketed as a general all purpose advanced droid combat corvette the Vesa “Wolf” Corvette was designed with only one purpose in mind and that is piracy. The Vesajilics needed an innovative specialty craft to carry out their piracy operations and enforce their "protection", so they commissioned their company, Vesa Corporation, to draft up a suitable design.

Resulting is a ship in which every detail is tailored to help it overcome and capture other vessels. The most notable of these features include the heavy presence of ion weaponry, the plasma torch boarding device and the tractor beam. The ship sacrifices any dedicated cargo capacity instead for heavier shields and speed.

The “Wolf” was not named mindlessly, it was designed with the intention of being deployed in groups refereed to as wolf packs. Packs of the corvettes will use their speed and firepower to swarm and take down larger ships. Even a lone "Wolf" is not to be underestimated, its heavy shields and weapons make it a worthy match for any corvette. Freighters are needless to say, easy prey for the Hutt ship.

Vesa Corporation is known for its specialization in droid technology, the “Wolf” is no exception. The majority of the crew is VB1 droids, the only sentinels required are a command staff of eight and the two pilots. The standard complement is a boarding party of Vesa Corporation Battle Droids, though the ship can be refitted to allow half as many humanoid passengers instead. Each "Wolf" has a small central droid slave computer located within the heart of the ship that helps coordinate all of the droids attached to the ship.

The central computer gives the droid crew and landing party excellent coordination with a single mind behind every action, the command staff only has to issue orders and monitor the situation. The presence of a command staff also allows the interjection of creative thinking when necessary. The enhanced coordination allowed by the droid slave computer is similar in a sense to the battle mediation sometimes employed by force users. Each corvette's droid slave computer can communicate with with the other corvette's computers, allowing significant fleet wide coordination.

When a “Wolf” is destroyed or the droid slave computer any surviving droids will continue to function but now independently and without long-term insight. To coordinate anything the droids now have to physically communicate with one another.

There polished up the thread with editing and added the pirate forces bit. I think this thread is now done until the faction grows further. At some point I will put in pictures for each of the Vesa Corporation's products.

I don't know if the necessary admin saw. But I have added the specs for a Corvette class ship and a starfighter belonging to the faction that need approval?

Just to ask, who's running this faction now that Vonlin's gone? Or has it been abandoned?
