Big things were happening in the galaxy. Very big things. Plans were in motion to expand certain power bases, end certain peoples, and acquire certain resources. But all of that required materiel.

Last time a certain Blackwell employee and droid technician had been contacted it'd been Malicia and Asminys doing the job. Morgan was sure they competent since they didn't have personalities that encouraged survival otherwise, but they were also busy right now. Besides, never send a cult leader to do the job of a negotiator. It's just like, his opinion, man.

He'd arranged for a meeting on Naboo this time. Close to Sith controlled space but otherwise neutral, lots of open spaces, quiet corners, and restaurants open with isolated tables for two. So romantic.

Morgan settled into his seat, brushing off his tunic. It was cut and styled in the native Naboo fashion, elegant without being too ostentatious. They saved that for the Queen herself. He'd arrived first, the polite thing to do when inviting someone to an event. Even if the event was convincing him to sell even more droids on a certain Count of Serenno's behalf. Although his eyes marked him as not native to the place, he caused not a single ounce of trouble on Naboo. So far.

That was how the game was played, after all. So he ordered some local brandy by the bottle and waited for the other man to arrive.

Newton has never been to Naboo before. It is a nice planet he supposes, easy on the eyes, both the city scape and the country-side he saw as he looked through the viewport of his ship. But he isn't here to sightsee of course. The Blackwell Manager is here to conduct business first and foremost. Newton's tasks as droid engineer and a Blackwell manager keep him very busy, the work does at times seem to pile on, but at least he has his personal secretary droid L3 around to help keep his workload organized and sorted.

His companion astromech droid M7 would be aboard his ship the Messier 7 at the spaceport and on standby. That would leave Newton in the city to meet with a new client.

Newton would arrive to the restaurant, on time. The Blackwell employee was dressed nicely wearing businesswise, as usual, not really caring or seeing a need to try to blend in. Having now arrived, he would glance around looking for where the client might be, if he happened to be here already. Scanning around some more, he would find a man off on an isolated table for two, and seemed to be waiting patiently. That's probably him. Newton would stroll over to there.

"Morgan, is it?" he would ask after he appoarched for him to confirm. If that is indeed him, they can get started.

"Morgan it is. Newton, I take it," the young man replied, standing from his seat to flash a smile and offer his hand to shake, sitting back down afterwards. Golden eyes briefly appraised the man from Blackwell. He was young for his position, or looked it at least. Of course, Morgan was too. Between the man's droids and his own lightsaber he idly which of them had killed more people.

"It's nice to meet you. Always been a fan of Blackwell's work. I don't suppose the BA-10 is one of yours?"

About then a waiter appeared with the bottle of brandy and two glasses, laid down a short menu of drinks and appetizers, and asked if there was anything Newton would like. He'd take down any order and walk crisply off. It was a nice place, good service, relaxed atmosphere. Morgan would keep it in mind for the future.

He turned back to Newton after the waiter left.
"We're in need of some hardware. I'm hoping you can help."

Newton would nod "That's me. " Newton would shake the other man's hand, taking him up on his offer, much like any businessman would. Morgan seemed nice enough, upon further inspection. He was young, though he doesn't look like any other Naboo human, near-human most likely, almost same eyes as Demolly. But this was for a Count of Serenno's behalf, so he can see the relation although this one isn't near as pale. No matter though. Newton would sit down in the empty seat.

He asked if the BA-10 is one of Blackwells, and indeed it was. It also happened to be the most advanced astromech droid he's seen on the market. "Nice to meet you as well. The BA-10 is indeed Blackwell Tech design. I don't recall seeing an astro droid as advanced than the BA-10." Not one of Newton's designs though, he came on the Blackwell ship after that.

Now that the waiter appeared, he would list off the New Alderaan Wine, with no else before dismissing the waiter. This was indeed a nice place, good for a business meeting.

And looks like the pleasantries have concluded, it is time to get to the reason why they are here: business. He needs help getting some hardware. That's fair enough. Newton would then respond with "I probably would be able to. What kind of hardware do you need?" Passing the conversation back to Morgan.

Morgan's head tilted slightly to regard the other man, looking over the features of his face. The almost bored expression, all business and analysis. The way his hair parted cleanly but semi-casually to his right, the way his seemed comfortable in that suit he wore. Clearly quite corporate, cleanly presented. Morgan had known the BA-10 was Blackwell tech- it was in the name after all- but it got him talking while the secret Sith poured brandy into his glass and started catching on to Newton's mannerisms and the way he spoke. It was a casual setting for casual business, but Morgan was still working.

"I have one request, and one challenge," he began, pausing for a moment to sip the brandy exactly like it was merely a glass of wine. It more or less was for his kind, considering their tolerance. The glass was carefully placed down on the table in precisely the same spot it'd been before he picked it up before he continued. "For the former, twelve BD-626 starfighters. For the latter," he leaned in, a slight grin forming across his face.

"I would like to know what the most impressive security model droid you can make is."

Ah yes, the BD-626 starfighters. They are a very advanced starfighter, and he overheard some Blackwell pilots using those saying that the seats are absolutely comfortable. Newton would probably have one of those, but that would require that Newton actually learn to pilot a starfighter, as opposed to letting his astromech droid do all the work, which is how his shuttle operates.

Newton's drink would arrive, to which he would pour some in his own glass. Now sitting it down, he would answer Morgan's question. "Twelve BD-626 Starfighters should be no problem. Of course, there are high-quality starfighters and are pricey." Newton said, affirming that those starfighters are not free. But since this is behalf a count of Serenno, price should be no challenge.

And for the last question, Newton would get out a hand-held holoprojector from his jacket pocket. "The most impressive security security model droid is the D3-N4, or 'Deneb' or the V3-G4 or 'Vega'. My designs." the holoprojector would display a holographic image of the two droids. He would push it towards the middle of the table, passing it over so the client could look closely if he wishes, as well as switch forth between displays of both.. "The D3 is an advanced, agile battle droid effective with small arms and melee weapons. The V3 is a big, heavily arrmored droid that can pack heavy firepower. If you push the big button on the projector, it will give you the specs on those" in case Morgan wants to look through the technical details on those.

Newton would take a sip of his drink, as he would wonder what the challenge would be. Perhaps he's wanting a large number of one of those or both, or he might be asked to make something better.

The twelve ships were easily negotiated, if it could even be called a negotiation. He asked, Newton agreed in return for money. Basic business, no problem. Morgan nodded and sipped at his drink while Newton spoke, alternating between watching his face and idly glancing around to different parts of the room. The restaurant was decorated for the season, plants and paintings that reflected it tastefully placed in precise position. A particular piece pulled his attention, an abstract arranged in a multitude of scintillating colours and shapes and a variety of dyes and textures.

Morgan smiled at the painting, a softly nostalgic expression that only existed for a bare few moments before it shifted back and he turned toward the man on the other side of the table. He'd still been listening to his elaboration on his products, his eyes had just wandered elsewhere.

"The price is no issue, of course," he said, slender fingers coming up to lay themselves gently against the datapad. "Impressive droids, without a doubt. I read the catalogue." Though he still hit the button anyway, just to go over the kinds of details that tend not to be published in those catalogues. After a few seconds he slid the datapad aside, the better to look Newton in the eyes.

"But what I'm asking about is custom work. Just one unit, the best of its class. I'm curious what you could do."

Price is no issue, of course, he affirmed. He did go through the droids and did say he was impressed. And then he made his challenge. Just one unit, best of it's class, is his request. Newton would raise an eyebrow. There is the challenge. He is thinking of some ideas at the moment, he could start with incorporating the AI core he got from the client he sold droids to on Ord Mantel. He did some tinkering and was working on advancing it. He could put it to the test there for this custom one-off droid.

"I see." he said, nodding his head in affirmation. "Was there anything specific you wanted with this droid?" he wondered aloud. "Or is it 'free style'?" he asked. If the client doesn't have anything specific, it's unto the Blackwell manager himself to be creative. With that, Newton would take a sip of his drink while waiting on an answer from his acquaintance.

"Of course," he began, pausing to take another drink of his brandy. He had specific ideas, and only hoped the technologist could bring them into reality.

"A droid capable of both protocol functions and combat. Translation, anti-assassination, and bodyguard protocols, ideally." Such a thing wasn't exactly unheard of, although they were rare and expensive things. The best were almost universally custom work or extremely high end models, some even hand made by organic engineers rather than built by other droids in a factory. The latter of which was precisely what Morgan was going for in this instance.

"I have a VIP that needs to be kept safe. Only the best will do. Blackwell has always been ahead of its time, proven further by the latest models, so here I am. Can it be done?"

The VIP in question wasn't someone Morgan felt the need to mention, but as usual he wasn't lying. It wasn't until relatively recently that the man had become important on the galactic scale, his face on the holonet, calling for the unification of planets and representation of otherwise independent civilizations. But to Morgan, Emryc was plenty important all on his own, and he'd quite possibly planted a big target on his back without the ability to fight back.

Besides, if he refused the droid then Morgan still had use for such a thing himself.

Newton nodded as he listed his requests for this droid. So, the VIP needs an elite bodyguard droid that protects against potential assassins, as well as translation functions. Newton would take one swig of his drink once he concluded with his request. Newton is confident that he can make such a thing happen, he has the skills and know-how to do so. "It can be done" Newton would affirm.

The Blackwell manager would take one more sip of his drink. "Alright then, anything else I need to know?" he asked. If there was anything more to this request, now is the time. After all, if the client receives the droid and then a feature they wanted wasn't included because it wasn't mentioned, they are still paying, and paying extra if Newton does any modifications.

If there is nothing more to this request though, then he can get started at his convenience.

Morgan grinned across the table and slid over a small datacard that contained the complete details of his request, as well as a business comm line by which he could be reached. The droid maker seemed confident in his own skills, which meant the secret Sith had little to worry about.

"All details are enclosed," Morgan answered, tapping twice on the datacard. Everything from example sensor specs and a desire for the droid to learn and adaptable, to preferred height range. Though of course the details were up to Newton himself, the Firrerreo wasn't looking for a war machine so much as an unmatched guardian.

"When might the ships be able to be arranged?" Those were first priority and were meant to take less time than a custom high-spec droid, and could be paid for immediately rather than in increments or whatever the other man preferred for the bodyguard.

The Blackwell Manager would then take the datacard as it was slid over towards him, with that data he will make what the client wishes and it will be great. He would nod once as he received it, understanding. "Alright, I'll let you know when I'm done with it." he said.

Now was on to the matter of the starfighters that he was wanting first and foremost, the droid is a side project, a curiosity, but the starfighters are the main part of what this is about. Newton would simply answer straight up. "Soon." he said before taking a sip "We can start making arrangement as soon as you like actually." Newton would pull out his datapad after he would put the datacard away in his jacket pocket. He would begin typing on his datapad. "So, 12 of the BD-626s starfighters right?" he would asks to confirm. "We can go ahead and purchase them right now. Would you like to have them delivered to Serenno, or another place? If so it would be a few business days or so before you see them. Does your Count have means of picking them up himself? He would be able to receive them eariler in that case." he wanted to make sure.

"Also would you like to visit one of our Driveworks locations and get a more closer, physically look at them before you purchase?" he also added, just in case. Maybe he would want to, feeling it necessary, or maybe he won't. It doesn't matter too much. Those are high quality starfighters so if he would inspect them more closely, Newton is sure that he would still go for them. If he chooses not to, the man will get his goods quicker, and Newton would get his commission quicker.

Morgan nodded, confirming the number of fighters. A full squadron's worth was needed for the kinds of work the young man did, and their scouting capability among modern starfighters was nearly unmatched besides. He preferred not to rely on out date refurbished Y-wings set up for recon if it could be avoided. Those things were not originally designed for that kind of work to start with.

"I'll be inspecting and picking them up myself, with some extra pilots of course if you don't mind." Morgan could fly just fine, and he wanted to test one out for himself regardless. The others would be hand-picked from an existing pool of pilots to fly in the squadron, though they wouldn't show up as Sith forces but rather garbed in the dress of Serenno pilots.

Slender fingers reached into his jacket and pulled out a credit chip, which he placed atop the table.
"Payment can be drawn from here," he said before leaning back in his chair, sipping his brandy. So far it was a low key and professional business interaction and he had no complaints. Better than some of the nonsense that went on in the backrooms of Eriadu or Nar Shaddaa, certainly.

"Splendid" Newton would smile as he got the credit chip that was placed on the table. "We have ourselves and arrangement then." he would place it in his jacket. Newton would take a sip of his drink, his last one as his glass is almost out now. After a pause, he would then arrange a meeting place. "There is a Blackwell Driveworks space station on Manaan. I'll see to it that your starfighters will be there, and you and you pilots more than welcome to inspect and test them before picking them up." Morgan's request for testing them is perfectly reasonable, Newton already has the credit chip.

"The starfighters will be reserved, and will be ready whenever you are able to visit." Newton would nod his head. "The bodyguard droid will take some time, of course. And I will contact you when it's ready." And with that, he thinks that should settle it. "Any objections, or anything else?" If there are any more questions or anything. If not, then they can conclude this meeting, with all parties involved benifiting. Morgan, Blackwell, and Newton (with commission)
