Onderon's capital was surrounded by jungles, some of them tamed due to the urbanization of the planet and the vicinity of the cities but one could still find a decent number of dangers within the Onderon forests even when barely venturing outside the city walls. On a small open plane, surrounded otherwise by trees, bushes and branches, sat a robed figure. Cross legged, her arms resting on her knees, hood covering most of her face with only the edges of her red hair and golden earrings hanging out. Around her sat four Boma's, creatures native to Onderon that were usually smaller in size. These four specimens however appeared to be larger than usual, up to the hip height of an average human and subsequently heavier. Yet the four beasts sat tamed and timid around the figure. The woman's head bowed slightly down and all four beasts started to exhibit changes in their so far timid behavior. First only grunting, then digging around with their paws and snarling as they got up on all fours before finally turning to attack the robed woman. She sprang to her feat in a move that was as much as a combat maneuver as it was a dance and executed with such a speed that the beasts didn't even have a chance to react and follow her with their gaze. In a single move she was able to get up from her position, rotating around her axis, summon her weapon from the ground into her hands and slay all four animals in a single rotary sweep of her double bladed lightsaber. She stood in her finishing position for a second after the four Boma's collapsed from their injuries, all four being struck over the head, the crimson plasma blade carving through their tissue and skulls.

She has been stationed on Onderon for a certain mission and spent the brunt of her free time there using the environment for her training. This particular method was used in order to advance her mind manipulation abilities within the wild life otherwise known as Beast Control. Pacifying and then enraging the beasts back and forth she honed her precise control over the minds of these creatures and the application of this ability in general. Jaina had calmed and enraged these creatures a dozen times before finally ending their lives. Boma's themselves weren't particulary hard to dominate for the Sith but maintaining such intricate control over several of them required immense skill and knowledge on behalf of the user and indeed proved a donning task. She was eventually gonna move on to try and tame Zakkeg beast and even try herself up against a Rancor, both of which inhabited Onderon, but decided to try and flesh out some more with some of the more common Onderonian wild life. ''Pretty sure I could add two more Boma's to this exercise.'' she thought to herself as the double blades of her lightsaber retracted. A holocom strapped to Jaina's belt beeped and she reached out and responded to the call from the device. ''Hammar. To what do I owe the pleasure ?'' the Sith woman asked with a friendly smile. A small holographic shape of a human projecting from the device in Jaina's hands spoke ''Hey there. Jaina. Someone stopped by the other looking for you, asking around.'' the layed back man spoke in such a casual and friendly manner that it was almost hard to imagine him to be a Sith Acolyte. ''Said that he required your assistance with something. A Kaleesh, fierce looking guy gotta say. He was one of our own so they gave him directions to your current stationary. We were all tied up with our missions so that's why I'm calling it in this late, that and the fact that he probably doesn't pose danger as one of own. Still.. felt you might have wanted a heads up.'' Jaina pondered for a second and then thanked the individual before turning off her device.

Someone looking specifically for her ? Judging by Hammar's reaction to the guy it's safe to assume it wasn't any of the higher ups or their lackeys so Jaina dismissed the possibility of Darth Vyrassu finally calling for her audience. She couldn't really pin a tail on any of the reasons why someone of their ranks that wasn't from her particular group would come looking for her. ''A couple of days ago eh?'' she thought to herself realizing that the person in question could be arriving at the planet any time now. Still Jaina decided to deal with the situation when it was presented and played around with the notion of the Dark Side favoring her lately and this perhaps being just another one of it's gifts. She made her way deeper into the forest, leaving only the dead Boma's as a trail behind her and all the while cloaking he presence within the Force completely, something that was now a habit she practiced almost at all times.

The Y2k-Series Light Freighter, recently named 'The Kraata', disengaged from hyperdrive and entered the Japrael Systems orbit. The RT Pilot droid flicked a sequence of switches which maintained the vessels course towards Onderon, one of the many Planetary bodies. The Yellow trimmed android turned it head around towards the rear of the cockpit which displayed an almost full view of the internals Hub "Acolyte, hyperspace is disengaged. We are currently orbiting the Japrael System en route to Onderon. Estimated transit is a standard hour." The Pilot autonomously returned its head to its standard position and resumed to engage in a series of motions which smoothly bought 'The Kraata' into Onderons flight path. The rather small light freighter ignited its system engines and propelled among the vastness of space.

"Acolyte. The vessel received a message while in light speed. It appears our presence has been announced. Should I contact Mistress Terris for co-ordinates?" the crimson skinned Apprentice shook his head

oie-jpg-1.png
Alphonse, an L4-Series droid with a reputation for programmed sass and hi jinx, began to gather the items requisitioned by the 'Captain' "I've advised on many occasions to have a locker installed near the boarding ramp. It'd save me an eternity from having the find your gear young Captain" the bipedal droids gaze stared 'intently' towards the unmasked Kaleesh, his face betraying a sense of shame and apology "Yes. Your council has been noted Alphonse. When we have time I will ensure this Ship is equipped with the necessary equipment......you have my-" the Protocol droid cut in immediately, and almost rudely. It was no fault of its own, merely how it was programmed "I don't need to hear your constant expression of regret" L4 was merely poking fun at the Acolyte, something he had done since he was purchased in Iruuks adolescence. It was one of the main reasons the Kaleesh had taken so fondly to it.
---------------
'The Kraata' began its descent to Onderons orbit and Iruuk reached through the Force, extending tendrils out to the Planets surface. He was searching for signatures uncommon to the Planets fauna and flora. At his level of control he was unable to pinpoint individuals, especially so far from their location, but he was able to gain an overall insight. Unmasked, his amber eyes rested on the L4 Pilot droid "Artemis. Request permission from the Planets spaceport. Inquire and see if we can depart to these coordinates after the necessary inspections are completed and all tariffs paid" his reptilian accent was thick, but his Galactic Basic was understandable. Iruuk had no need to hide his position or his business on the Planet. He would declare his visit a matter of business. Rarely would an officer probe for additional information, but he was prepared if asked.

Venturing deeper through the forest Jaina could feel the incoming presence of another, imbued with the Dark, descending upon the planet. That was most likely the Kaleesh mentioned before. The mission on Onderon she undertook was quite secretive and it was anticipated that some of the dealings of the Sith there would garner the attention of the Jedi. Wanting their agent to remain hidden from the eyes and senses of the servants of the Light Jaina was an obvious choice for such a task being able to completely mask her presence even if in the vicinity of a trained Jedi. The Kaleesh on the other hand either didn't know or didn't bother to do so anyways. Not that the fact itself was detrimental to her cause, the Jedi currently on the planet have not only been long involved with the cult inside the Blood Forest, a place that was not only on the other side of the planet but was seeping with Dark Side activity and users, oversaturating the senses of anyone present so much so that it would be impossible to sense the incoming Kaleesh or Jaina even if she didn't decide to mask her presence.

Her trip through the forest got her closer to the main city where she could feel the Kaleesh would be landing. Reaching out from within herself Jaina let her presence linger out around her and through the Force, effectively ending her cloaking as she wanted the Kaleesh to reach her. She didn't want to meet the man inside the city simply because too many eyes might be pointed and there was still a slight chance of this specific individual wanting to terminate her. A full on Sith fight with raging crimson lightsabers around the streets of Onderon's capital would no doubt undermine if not outright fail her mission here. Instead the Sith woman would spread her presence as a beacon for the Kaleesh, only to cut it off completely once he neared her position and retain her masking within the Force. It was still better to keep an upper hand to a degree with this unknown individual, assessing him first from a safe distance before revealing herself or even striking if necessary.

The RT-Series Pilot droid repreated its request for landing "Iziz Spaceport, this is Freighter Y2k 'Kraata' requesting permission to land. Awaiting reply and instructions." The droid stared blankly at the communications console, its pending status updated with docking co-ordinates and rules. Its head spun a full 180 degrees, its line of sight directed at the young crimson Acolyte as he prepared himself for Planetfall.

"Acolyte, our ship is scheduled to dock at bay 1-E. Please take a seat as we enter the Planets atmosphere. As always, I recommend you fasten yourself. Our entry will be met with turbulence/" RT, or Artemis, maneuvered the small freighter along its preset co-ordinates towards Iziz, Onderons Capital City. As expected their entry was far from smooth as 'The Kraata' penetrated the outer Planets outer sphere, the friction created from entry causing the vessel to burn brightly. Were it not for the necessary alloys built into its design it would burn to ash in moments.

Once stability had been achieved both Iruuk and the L4 droid unfastened their harnesses, the Kaleesh peering out one of the transparisteel view ports to see the Capital below. It was truly a sight to behold and a stark contrast in comparison to his own homestead. Onderon was a lush Jungle World vibrant in varying life. The native flora and fauna were complemented by numerous introduced species which flourished and thrived in its environment, though the delibalance between life and death was yet to be achieved.....

oie-jpg-1.png
Alphonse uploaded stock standard information from public databanks involving Onderons Planetary information. This ranged from terrain, the percentage in which its surfaces were split, orbital cycles, satellites and stellar readings not excluding temperature. From what it could determine after 'reading' the datapack it was forecast to be a fine day with mild overcast. Winds were low, atmosphere breathable to a majority of oxygen based species with a climate that seemed at comfort with its reptilian 'Captain' "Young Master, with the information before me I advise you attire yourself in light clothing. Climate and weather forecasts indicate light winds and temperatures higher than usual. There is little doubt you will feel more comfortable here than our last assignment. Also, I've noticed your lack of provisions packed over the last few cases so I have taken the liberty of packing your supply case myself. If you feel thanks are in order you could reciprocate by purchasing that upgrade I-" Iruuk raised his open hand slightly above his shoulder as a gesture of silence, his eyes squinted as if he'd heard this more than once "Thank you Alphonse"
---------------
oie-png.png
'The Kraata' landed on its designated platform with mechanical grace, its docking ramp lowering at the push of a button. Iruuk stood at the top of the metallic incline, his hand sliding the traditional bone mask of his people over his reptilian face. There were few who had seen underneath his facial covering but to reveal their features was a personal matter reserved for those who had held an unfathomable trust with the individual. There had been a few instances where his beliefs and tradition had garnered him scorn from those above his rank. Luckily his Master was patient and required nothing more than his tutelage and at many times had encouraged his quirk. In time though the young Acolyte had come to expose his face around him. The gesture itself spoke more than words.

Iruuk gathered the remainder of his gear before casually walking down the ramp towards the Officer who waited near the docks gate, pen and datapad in hand. The middle aged male Twi'lek dusted with a green color approached Iruuk, but was rudely intercepted by the L4 Protocol droid who took point in the matters resolution. Its primary functions were initiated and it began to speak in the native tongue of the emerald being "Eyima xama koa cargo ael declare. Eyir visit chir businesku related et eyima expect eyir ship ael kii docked koa longer than 3 cycleku. Hereku leha docking fee. Anything else?" Iruuk quietly slipped past the two, nodding at his traveling companion and making a mental note of his inventory.

Beyond the docks gates were a flood of chaotic life. Citizens, immigrants and travelers traveled along the pathways in coordinated chaos, each individual set on their own course, each one determined to reach their destination. It was somewhat overwhelming. But in the midst of it all a certain feeling washed over his senses, a ripple that reverberated in the back of his cranium. It enticed him, almost lured him to follow, a bittersweet sensation that smelled of blood with too much iron akin to a thick nose bleed. The Acolytes amber eyes widened, his slit like pupils scanning the horizon of bobbing heads as he extended his own consciousness to intertwine with the beacon set out. Iruuk gaze lowered, his body completely stationary in the torrent of people moving around him. He could sense a familiarity from its signature, not something so easily mistaken for a servant of the light. Those that wielded the dark side of the Force emitted certain negative energies from their physical form, and their mental protrusions were more sinister in nature. There was fore warning of members belonging to the Jedi Order having a presence on Onderon but from the information he gathered they'd be occupied. Iruuk himself hardly possessed enough malice or odorous intent to attract the attentions of his light obeying counterparts.

oie-png-2.png
Instead Iruuk followed the faint scent in the Force, one which seemed to guide him willingly to a certain location. The Kaleesh Acolyte was fitted in a plain ebony under suit which covered him from wrist to ankle. A traditional brown poncho and robe draped itself over his torso which concealed his sheathed weapon on his side.

From what Jaina could sense the Kaleesh had already landed on the planet and made it's way through the capital. Though not able to completely pinpoint the being's location Jaina was somewhat certain that he was in the relative vicinity of the main gates and walls separating the capital from the vast jungles around and that it wouldn't take him much time to reach her location, that being within the jungle not too far from the capital itself. Spreading her consciousness elsewhere Jaina reached out as far as she could to the other side of the planet, wanting to try and probe the situation in the coveted 'Blood Forest' simply out of interest.

All she could feel was a surge of Dark Side energy eminating from the area in it's usual manner, one that suggests the use of cult's particular blood sorcery. It was so highly saturated with the Dark Side energies, even more so than usual, that one couldn't tell much of what was going on or at least Jaina couldn't. Safe to say that some rituals have already begun, thus the high concentration of the unnatural energy and as of the Jedi that ventured there... there faiths remained unknown.

Backing off from her probing of that side of the planet Jaina was once again in the present moment and space - amidst the trees of the jungle near the walls of Iziz. She would have felt the Kaleesh when he entered the jungle and would once again bury not only her presence but completely disappear out of plain sight.

Iruuks mental search was met with something akin to a beacon, pulsating ever so gently amidst a surge of conflicting energy. The natural balance of this Planet was sorely in conflict and anyone who was attuned to its delicate nature could feel its invisible struggle. To his 'eye' he could see a very dim light swollen in shadow. If the "Sith Assassin" wanted to hide her presence she could have done it effortlessly. What confused him was why she moved further into Onderons wilderness. He was sure his Protocol droid had made arrangements through the necessary channels. As he raised his commlink to his lips in query, he felt another slight pull from the Force. It gently tugged him away from the safety of the Capital.

The Journey through the more primitive parts of the Planet was skeptically met. Through his "apprenticeship" he'd traveled abroad. But most of his business occurred within populated areas, driving nature and its creatures further afield. Nature in its wildest form was unpredictable and the warnings in the Force were fickle to him. Iruuk pioneered through the thick matte of vegetation making sure to keep his advance quiet, but his presence known. He almost kicked himself for not preparing better in learning the planets native fauna and flora. He suddenly came to a halt....something primitive flared at the base of his skull, a primal fear that is commonly experienced by Prey animals being stalked. What was ironic was that his species was top of the food chain, they were predatory.

His clawed hand instinctively reached for the handle of his blade, still sheathed but his fist tightly wrapped around its bound leather. The slits of his amber eyes glared at his weapon. He'd been caught unaware. How long had she been following him? He made his presence known but he kept a vigilant sense on his surroundings, visually and through the Force. There were no distinct heat signatures, he'd felt nothing, sensed nothing from the moment he entered the wildness. But none the less she was just THERE. Iruuk forced air into his lungs to calm his tensed nerves, primarily to loosen the grip of his weapon. He didn't want to give off the wrong impression and start unexplained conflict.
Once his body uncoiled he spoke, aimed in a general direction. He could sense her, he just couldn't see her "My name is Iruuk, sixth of my Name, Acolyte of the Eternal. I seek an audience with a Mistress Terris." he pried his claw from his weapons hilt and wrapped his arm around his waist, offering a slight bow "Forgive the intrusion. I was informed you had been contacted...." he would hold his formal gesture until Jaina revealed herself, in whatever manner she deemed necessary.

She watched the Kaleesh approach her general vicinity and choosing to remain between the trees and in the shadows Jaina calmly stalker the reptilian warrior walking several meters behind him, her presence completely masked. Only when he spoke did the Sith decide to finally reveal herself. About three meters behind the Kaleesh light started to break off of a seemingly invisible figure as it came into view. First only appearing as a transparent outline of her own self before fully coming into view. ''Pleased to meet your acquaintance.'' she said in a polite manner but with a smirk of intrigue, her words most likely gaining the attention of the Kaleesh to turn towards her exact position. ''Jaina.'' she reiterated with what was now a smile before continuing ''Don't worry about it, if anything perhaps I should be the one to apologize for meeting in you in such a rude manner, but you must understand - one can never be too careful.''

She was already intrigued by the notion of this individual wanting to reach out to her and his words 'Sixth of my Name' sparked another form of intrigue for the being's culture and customs but that would have to wait. Though visibly armed Jaina felt no current threat or malice intent in the Kaleesh and his change of stance into a more relaxed one previously confirmed this all the more. ''Now Iruuk to what do I owe the pleasure ?'' she asked gazing into the reptilian's eyes and the bone mask, her own shrouded by the hood of her robes.

Iruuk stammered as she melted into existence. Surely some manipulation of the mind? Such skills were beyond his ability. It was partially the reason why he traveled abroad. As Jaina reciprocated his introduction he dropped his bow and stood at his full height, an unimposing six feet. He pulled a holopad from a small pocket amidst his robe and placed it atop a small clearing in the dirt, its smooth metallic texture an obvious contrast to its surrounding "I'm going to be forward with you." he wasn't here to waste her time, and those among the dark side were known to be temperamental. They all had their quirks "My Apprenticeship has come to a crossroad. The Master has taught me all it has to teach and our tradition dictates I travel abroad and finish my tutelage among others." his reptilian accept forcing each word out. "Until I complete my studies, I cannot return. That is the premise of my intrusion, though your reputation is why I sought you. Upon the end of my Apprenticeship I will face The Master to the death. The victor earns or keeps the name."

The red skinned Acolyte sighed from behind his mask as he struggled to voice his frustration ""What stands before you is not enough to Kill it. I need to become stronger"" he placed his clawed hand on his weapons hilt, his fingers wrapping around the base and bindings. The sword yearned to be free of its sheath as it released cracks of darkside energy from its obsidian edge. His eyes met with Jainas and his head bobbed down in a nod. He was waiting on her mark.

"I'd have you judge me first hand on my abilities. I need to know where I lack. If further explanation is required, I can answer after you've assessed me" Iruuk pulled the full length of the sword free from its hip holster, its dark black blade seemingly devouring the light surrounding it. To those finely attuned to the Force and its gentle nuances, one could sense its negative impact and the screams it rents. The Acolyte held the blade with two hands, feet evenly spaced apart with one in front of the other and shoulders evenly square. Those who on the 7 Forms of conventional lightsaber combat, his stance heavily resembled the First, also known as Shii Cho which had heavy roots in the transition from physical weapons to lightsabers.

Iruuk would allow her sufficient time to get battle ready, although he doubted she required much if any. But it was a common courtesy if anything. His Apprenticeship was an imposition on the higher ranking members and it wasn't uncommon for him to be turned away.

His words and intent peaked Jaina's interest even more. Sure it was flattering that she was somewhat sought out by this individual but it wasn't just mere stroking of the ego that had sparked her interest. Though hiding most of her desires and plans, as she did with many other things, Jaina did in fact aim high in her goals among both the Sith and the Galaxy at large. She knew full well that not everything she strove to achieve would be possible by her alone and that she indeed might find herself in a tutor's role somewhere down the line. Iruuk himself presented an opportunity on both fronts - both a possible ally and as someone she could try and share some of her knowledge in 'experimentation' purposes to both gauge her skill at doing so and observe how her own ways and approaches are manifested when poured onto another being. ''I really appreciate your directness Iruuk, straight to the point.'' she addressed the Kaleesh in a casual, almost friendly manner.

Iruuk's motivation and what little of his history he shared with Jaina fascinated her to a degree. Whichever sect he was apart of clearly took note and inspirations from the Rule of Two and adjusted them to their own teachings. Even better, with such a clear goal in mind and such an individual that is so vastly different than her in seemingly many ways her 'experiment' could actually produce some solid information with whatever would be it's result. The warrior before her unsheathed his weapon, her eyes narrowing slightly in both confusion and amusement at the sight of the Force inbued Sith Sword. For all intents and purposes she did expect the warrior to whip out a lightsaber but it seemed that either his sect or he himself was quite more... traditional for the lack of a better term. Though she initially expected this to be an exchange of words first and then to jump to practice Jaina had to admit that this wasn't too bad either. She figured it could actually be a better way for both to gauge where the other stood and for her to provide a more.. practical example to what she sought to convey with her speech later.

Jaina recognized the Kaleesh's opening stance as that of Shii Cho, the first form of lightsaber combat as she reached into her robe. Pulling out a large hilt the Sith ignited the weapon, crimson plasma blades coming to life on both sides of the hilt with a sparking sound followed by it's signature hum. She held the hilt vertically and high above her head with her right hand as the weapon activated. Slowly Jaina started to flourish her weapon with both of her hands and above her head in a spinning motion, still not approaching the Kaleesh. The maneuver ended abruptly as Jaina pulled the blade behind her back, now holding it with only her right hand while at the same time her left violently extended forward. Palm open, fingers spread she sent not a push but more of a wave of telekinetic energy towards Iruuk. Offensive telekinesis might not have been Jaina's preferred choice of combat but the assassin was still capable of impressive feats with it especially when given time to concentrate. If the attack fully connected as expected Iruuk would be sent flying a couple of feet and on his back, if even that much considering the warrior's sturdy stance. Though strong enough to lift and throw him the wave wouldn't have done any other significant damage to the Kaleesh. Jaina would wait for Iruuk to get back on his feet, a sly smile on her face as she flourished her double bladed lightsaber from one side to the other. Only when Iruuk was back on his feet would the woman continue the assault opting for a calculated couple of strikes. First with her 'rear' blade, a low sweep at Iruuk's left, then instantly with her other, 'front' blade - this time high and to his right. Next feinting another attack with the rear blade to his legs but actually striking once again with the front one, this time to his lower torso.

Although the Jedi and Sith Eternals rank had swollen over the years, lightsabers were still an uncommon sight to those who did not exist within the small circles of trained Force Users. Despite his own Sensitivity to its existence and its use, Iruuk could count on his digits how many times he'd actually seen one in use. The blood colored blades sang once they were ignited, their gentle hums singing among the trees. It was almost melodic in tune but he knew to treat it with the highest of cautions. A tingle in the back of his consciousness rang ever so slightly, a sign usually affiliated with caution and awareness. With little time to ponder its intent he instinctively dropped his left hand from the swords hilt, thrusting it forward with an opened palm. An invisible power slammed against him, threatening to uplift his crimson frame and throw it against the sturdy trees behind him.

(Defense Roll: 36 - Force Push) The dark robbed Kaleesh struggled to negate the majority of the force thrown towards him, but enough to save him from being tossed aside like a doll. Instead he was thrown back and slightly off his feet, enough to gain sufficient distance but not to lose his footing. He intuitively wrapped the force around his waist and legs, bending his knee to assist in absorbing the shock. He was granted little reprieve though. As soon as he had gained his footing, Jaina continued with her assault, her rear blade rising to his left. Iruuk stepped back and twisted his upper body left, bringing his blade down to intercept the opening strike then continued with his motion in response to her following attack. He stepped back with his right and turned his body in the opposite direction, his elbows rising to head height so his blade ran down his side, two blades colliding once again. Her feign was simple to surmise and he stepped aside, battering the blade away in a clockwise arc. He brought the hilt of his blade below his chest with both hands wrapped around it, stepping forward with a two handed lunge aimed Jainas breast. With the expectation of her parrying or dodging he bridge the distance with another stride, his arms raising above his head for an overhead strike, bearing the weapons weight and his own power down upon her skull. With an aggressive counteract in mind, he paid heed to the basics of his stance. Simple motions and sturdy footwork.

It seemed that the Kaleesh was perceptive enough not to get completely blind sided by her initial attack and her engaging him in close quarters proved another suspicion Jaina had - he was indeed a warrior. His archaic weapon aside Iruuk seemed more than prepared and able to not just defend himself against a dedicated attack, even if it was a probing assault so to speak, but also being able to mount a counter attack quickly going for the advantage rather than staying on the offensive. Truly the being before her knew some core principles of combat and applied it masterfully and swiftly. Every strike of her initial attack was blocked or deflected with Iruuk's body positioning being spot on for each one of these maneuvers, something incredibly important in a battle with a staff wielder that could easily exploit any hiccups within footwork and positioning and even capitalize on them from a 'safer distance' due to the weapon's reach.

As soon as the last of her strikes was dealt with he transitioned his deflective blow into an attack smoothly, aiming to stab at Jaina's chest. The limber and quick assassin leaped back significantly distancing herself from the Kaleesh, opting to dodge rather than block the assault. Iruuk was not letting off though. Noticing the flow of the battle shifting towards him he mounted more assaults as the assassin tried to back away and came at Jaina with an overhead strike akin to the Falling Avalanche move common to the Djem so. The reptilian's size, strength and ferocity of the attack were far too much for Jaina to be able to block in any way and that much was obvious. Instead she gathered the Force within her, doing so from the moment she initially started to dodge. When the attack of the Kaleesh came down on her Jaina swiftly side stepped it though calling upon the Force to increase her already impressive speed. As she side stepped to dodge the woman leaped to the side diagonally from where she was positioned and toward one of the trees behind Iruuk, her movements enhanced with the Force she looked like a black blur leaving red, equally blurred, traces behind her. As her leap was halfway through she pushed herself off of the said tree and towards Iruuk, her double bladed lightsaber spun swiftly with her fingers as she was now the one descending on her opponent. The spin was merely for the weapon to gain momentum as she intended to clash with the Kaleesh's blade. Though in a strict saber lock he would most likely have the upper hand the momentum of her leap and the spinning blade would garner enough strength to push back the warrior slightly if the blades interlocked.

However the attack, as elaborate as it was, was not her true intention. As it was a common theme with Jaina deception also was the key part of her as a combatant. Rather than strictly overpower you she'd lure you into something where she'd have the upper hand, masking her intent as something completely different. Rather than beating you head on with her skills as a duelist she'd exploit some other flaw or simply capitalize on the surprise her unorthodox split sabers could provide in a fight. This maneuver was no different. Jaina indeed wanted to get into a saber lock with Iruuk but needed to mask it as if it was just something the battle had naturally led them to, or a mistake she made as he surely was aware of his strength advantage and thus his upper hand at such a predicament. As the Kaleesh would push back on Jaina's lock she would retract one of her saber blades, forcing him to fall forward from his own momentum and even trip him with one of her legs. Allowing the assassin to bring the other blade of her weapon down and near the body of her sparring partner and effectively signal the ending of the battle.

As expected, his overhead strike was unsuccessful as he watched the Sith Assassin maneuver her way with appreciative grace. His heavy blade crashed against the Forests floor and his muscles worked hard to match what was asked of them as he lifted his weapon to stand between him and his opponent once again. Iruuk was impressed with Jainas mastery of the Force as she effortlessly empowered her body to perform superhuman feats, her silhouette gliding above in a dance well versed. To match her attack he slightly bent his leading leg and rested the majority of his weight on the back foot. He was aware of his weight and height advantage in this bout, but he was wary about her non the less. She showed exemplary use in the Force and applied it creatively to suit her strengths.

(Rolled 72 for Deception Defense)As Jaina reached the peak of her descent he dropped the tip of his blade to the ground and ran its length in parallel to his trailing leg, and when she initiated her attack he replied in kind. He bought his sword up in a forward arc from leg to Jainas blade, its cry screeching as met the crimson beams of plasma associated to the lightsabers. The trio of weapons sparked as the collided, his product of sith alchemy against a corrupted crystals energized form. His natural size and strength allowed him the upper hand, but his advantage was temporary, like all things in life. The moment Jaina disengaged one of her paired lightsabers their balance was re shifted in her favor. Were it not for his footing and the particular strike he'd used to defend against her feign he may have well been at her mercy. With his weight on the back foot he instead stepped back from his current position to once again separate the two with sufficient distance. Her merits in combat were showing.

Irruks gaze never left her, his eyes reading her subtle body movements. He slid back into Shii Chos readying stance, leading foot slightly forward, trailing leg gently bent with the weapon held directly infront of the wielder, its blade running 45 degrees outward. He took this moment of pause to collect a breath "You have an interesting weapon Jaina Terris. And a more curious method of combat". He allowed a moment of pause before he lunged once again towards the Assasin. He slashed down from nose to stomach with the swords tip then pulled his elbows, and the weapon, into his oblique once again in order to aim a following stab into her thigh.

As always, he maintained the necessary footwork required of his stance. But he kept an ever watchful eye on Jaina. She hid more than she revealed, that much he could feel.

The brief moment of pause as the two disengaged was quickly ended by the Kaleesh engaging yet another sequence of attack but not before commenting on Jaina's lightsaber. She said nothing in response, her focus laying elsewhere as she yet again flourished her blade from side to side. As soon as the brief pause between the two happened Jaina was already instigating her next layered attack, though a subtle one rather than a sequence of blade work. She had tried peering into the Kaleesh's mind while at the same time dividing her attention on the life forms around them. Beings tend to connect mental images to their words and when the Kaleesh spoke of his Master earlier she was almost certain that he indeed remembered the person's look, words and sounds. Trying to touch that memory and use it's likeness to project her own words and instill insecurity, doubt and anxiety Jaina reached into the reptilian's mind. But the combination of Iruuk's will and fortitude as well as Jaina's divided attention and the limited time she had to execute such a maneuver lead her to a failure.(Dice roll for mental distraction - 11) Only able to graze the surface of Iruuk's mind, feeling the being's resolve as her reach was rejected. At the same time the warrior engaged his attack.

Once again Jaina dodged his first center slashing attack by back stepping. The sequence was followed by another smooth transition aimed at Jaina's thigh which the Sith was able to deflect with one of her blades, her double bladed weapon held diagonally as she did so - the other blade remaining high. Ready to mount a certain defense while maintaining her footwork Jaina needed to hold off the Kaleesh only for a brief while - it was time for her real attack and the reason she divided her attention. Suddenly Iruuk would feel as if nature itself was against him as a flock Flirron came down towards the forest floor and towards Iruuk. Though the creatures weren't attacking him but rather simply redirected to fly in the direction where he stood it was still sudden and distracting enough to create a valid diversion. While the Flirron were simply redirected in their flight and intent the Boma emerging from between the trees nearby was in fact fully goaded into attacking the Kaleesh and snarled as it came into view, Jaina mainupulating the creature's mind to view Iruuk as an immediate threat and possible prey, making sure to do so at the same time the Flirron descended upon the warrior.

Distancing herself a few steps as the flying creatures descended Jaina would wait for both them and the Boma to distract her opponent enough for her to bring her blade inches away from him and once again try and end the sparring match with a threat of a direct strike.

Iruuk shrugged off her efforts to sway him mentally and was prepared for her counter strikes as she effortlessly glanced his flurry aside. Or so he thought. The Kaleesh's naivety rest in his warrior mindset, one adopted through his native heritage. While his entire focus was on the single target he crossed swords with, his opponent had split her attention over multiple tasks, one Iruuk would come to appreciate after the duel was complete. The aviary creatures descent was not something simply conjured on a whim, they had begun to stir moments before yet the Acolyte failed to notice their arousal. The flock were successful in their instigated deception and stole his attention as they mockingly flew just out of his blades reach. He'd almost failed to notice the encroaching Boma as they stalked between Onderons trees, their tusked snarls sending primitive chills through his body. Were it not for the situation he was currently in, he'd have stopped to fully appreciate the Planets native fauna but at the present he was afforded no such luxury.

While his focus was borne upon the two sets of creatures Jaina slipped from view. She would allow him no time to search though. As his glance begun to turn away from the slowly advancing creatures, the flock of Flirron dived towards him. Almost immediately the large predator of Onderon burst forth taking large strides, its natural speed a perfect example of how it reigned supreme in its natural environment. Iruuks off hand released the Swords leather binding, his open palm fixed towards the aviary group. He summoned the Force within him, allowing its energy to condense in the palm of his hand. At his command he unleashed a blunt wave of invisible force causing the Flirron to flutter in their descent, their wings flapping wildly as they struggled to gain their bearings and avoid collision. His execution was weaker than intended, and although his attempts had thwarted their advance, they suffered no damage. (Telekinesis Roll: 44 - Barely successful)

Shortly after Iruuks gaze rested on the charging Boma. It had taken advantage of the Flirrons earlier distraction and closed the distance between predator and 'prey' in almost an instant. (Telekinesis Roll: 29 - Barely successful) With barely little time for focus, the Acolyte instinctively balled his left fist, gathering a very minute amount of control over the Force. He pulled his fist into his side, commanding a great weight to pull down upon the Bomas head. His execution was less than desired, and while somewhat successful, it didn't garner the effect he wanted. The Predators charge was halted as its head smashed down into the ground, its body flailing over itself. But his actions were naught as he felt the warm plasma blade radiating inches from his back, its soft hum now echoing across the forest. Iruuk filled his lungs deep with fresh air and grinned, he'd grown arrogant in his own abilities and believed he had an upper hand. But while Iruuk fought like a warrior, Jaina reaped like an Assassin. And although he was disappointed in his swift defeat he now knew the difference in power. The Kaleesh grabbed the the dark leather holster and slid it over the Sith Sword in his right hand, returning the weapon to his side "It's your win" he glanced at the two sets of native species as they begun to recover "An interesting diversion. I cannot say I've seen such tactics displayed, but I suppose the abilities gifted through the Force are seemingly infinite" his back was still turned to Jainas lightsaber and would make no sudden moves to further instigate combat. They were both aware of each others combat potential through their small engagement, and a further exchange of blows could result in injury to both parties.

"As you can see, my fundamentals are second to none and although I do not wield a lightsaber I am able to hold my own. The fault...." he opened both his clawed hands and inspected his palms "is my lack of knowledge and subsequent power. My Sect follow the Balance. We are bound by it, sometimes slaves to it. But we correct the scales through its darker cycles, Death....decay. If life stagnates then we reap so that the next cycle can flourish. If the light shines too brightly then we bring forth shadow to counter its glare. But as I am, I cannot fulfill my mandate"

Jaina stood behind Iruuk holding him at her blade's length, it was obvious that none of the two needed to get seriously injured in this sparring contest. Only when the Kaleesh had spoken did the Sith assassin retract both of her weapon's blades as she deactivated her saber. ''They sure seem so.'' Jaina answered his remark about the Force, even a casual smile though slight taking hold on her face. When Iruuk would turn to face her she'd speak again ''To be quite honest I didn't expect you to be that good especially when I saw your weapon of choice.'' She reflected on how his apparent humility and the seemingly archaic sword somewhat deceived the deceiver even if it was unintentionally.

She waved a hand in dismissal and the downed Boma retreated to the depth of the forest, it's previous angry snarls replaced by pacified purrs. Following the creature with her gaze Jaina thought about what Iruuk was saying regarding his sect's views and customs. Though the notion of 'balancing the Force' was not uncommon it was more so a thing associated with the servants of Light, and even then the methods of said balancing vastly differed from what Iruuk was describing here. Surely this was a Dark Side twist on the whole concept. Interesting to say the least, the assassin thought to herself.

''I see.'' she spoke as she took a few steps around the clearing in the forest where the two did battle just moments before ''What you seek is knowledge and eventually power through it in order to complete that specific task... I can understand and respect that.'' she paused for a second, gazing at the tree branches above ''And you say you came to me specifically due to what you heard of my.. skills. I appreciate your open mindedness, many of our ranks dismiss a number of the more subtle applications of the Force clearly blinded by their ignorance and lust for the most primitive forms of power. Though to be fair stealth and cloaking won't do you much good in a direct battle..''

She took the hood off of her face and turned towards Iruuk ''But you didn't come here to merely learn about the blunt applications of such skills...'' She said, the sentence a query and a statement at the same time. Jaina was already certain, from what he presented and what he said, that the being before her yearned for true knowledge and not just to be taught how to access certain techniques. ''Do you know why I struck you with that wave of the Force at the beginning of our bout ?'' the assassin asked, her face now uncovered and piercing red eyes gazing at the reptilian with a slight smirk under them. ''I had done so because you expected a fencing duel. You expected to be gauged as a duelist, and I even did everything to make you believe I'd honor that wish. Instead I came at you like I would at an enemy and even as you did withstand the telekinetic strike that opening alone was enough for someone to get in close and severely injure you.'' Jaina indeed intended to pull of the said maneuver at the beginning of their match for this reason alone - she'd expected the Kaleesh to be an honorable warrior type (from what little she had seen of him and known of the species) and he openly expressed his desire to learn from her ways so that's exactly what she did ''I gauged you as a being, a warrior, someone who will be the target of another's blood lust in due time and played upon your expectations, leading you two ways while striking from a third - That is the lesson of deception.''

Jaina paused once again, gazing at the Kaleesh's eyes and trying to gauge his reactions as his bone mask made it a bit difficult. She wanted to establish some ground on the subject at hand and the notions of her teachings so the lengthy monologue was somewhat inevitable ''When you stand against your master he will not stop to engage you blade to blade just because you expect it - he will try to kill you in any way possible.'' she tried further explaining her point.

For those few who knew of the darksides existence, and the role the Sith played in its use, they believe that the 'Cult' used deception and lies to lure those to their ranks and execute their expansion across the Galaxy. Though not entirely untrue, they were often victims of misconception. In fact one of their most valuable tools was Truth. But not Truths that offer comfort and relief. They were Truths that exposed guilt and lies. But in her role as teacher and tutor, Jaina used neither in her deconstruction of the Acolyte. On the whole her evaluation was on point with a few details varying from its entire truth, but accurate to say the least. It felt a little uncomfortable to feel so predictable as she unveiled his intentions before voicing them himself. Surely this was another power offered to her through the Force. That, or she had gained the ability through experience.

Iruuk took her explanation in its entirety, and allowed her words to sink in. He was slow to process the information, he didn't want to be misunderstood when he answered. His reptilian accent dragged words out unnecessarily but he was easy to understand"I came to you at my Masters behest. He advised your talents would be beneficial and obviously you use the Force in unique ways to my own. As you witnessed, the potency of my abilities has its limits and unlike my kin I cannot steep too far into the darkside, nor can I rely on its influence too much. That puts a handicap in executing my mandate. You control the Force in more subtle ways. You wield deception and are able to cloak your presence. To be fair, though these are methods far from my own skillset, they are effective. My time of duty rarely calls for brute strength, and a more delicate approach is called for." Iruuk made his way to a nearby trunk and placed his holstered weapon against it, soon following as he sat upon its flat surface "But what you speak is the truth. I've been trained in the martial arts as dictated by my kinds traditions. My Master discovered me on Kaleesh, my home Planet, and raised me along side my blood Parents. They taught me my heritage and my blood rights, My Master taught me the ways of his Kin. What you see before you is the by product. My skills are fine tuned but my knowledge is limited. That is no reflection of my Masters capabilities, it is more than capable. Our mandate requires this as a necessity. And I require guidance if I am too ascend" the Acolyte pushed himself to a stand and immediately dropped to a knee, his head bowed so his eyes were looking at the ground. "Mistress, allow this Acolyte to Shadow you for whatever duration you see fit. While under your tutelage I serve you, as an Apprentice would serve its Master. With that said, my allegiance is first to my mandate. Should you order me to perform acts that defy the balance, I will decline" he'd do more if the balance was shifted too far to either side.

Jaina stared down to the kneeling Kaleesh, pausing for a few moments before speaking ''I accept these terms.'' she said both the choice of words and the manner in which they were delivered almost robotic. It was a fair deal, after all Iruuk obviously did not hide his intentions but neither did he hide his boundaries in this newly formed pact and Jaina could appreciate that much. She paced the clearing in the forest which the two occupied, though not gesturing for her supposed apprentice to rise her overall demeanor would entice him to do so. ''Your master had sent you to learn from me expecting a certain set of skills to be engraved onto you.'' she said as she paced, her gaze held down as if in deep thought ''Certain set of skills that he as many expects from me...'' she paused for a second ''..That he and many wrongly assume to be my upper limit.'' As it was an occurring theme with Jaina she hid more than she revealed, allowing her peers to view and judge her only by the skills she'd openly display was by her choice alone. A stealthy assassin favoring the use of subtle techniques some of her kind viewed with disdain, a deceiver and so on.. Though she was all those things they ran deeper and in truth her true power laid elsewhere, in her knowledge and understanding of certain aspects of life and the Force itself.

''You have already showed enough insight to not dismiss the importance and potential of the more subtle arts which many of our kind lack. As such I at least need not spend my breath to convince you otherwise.'' Her head finally turned to Iruuk as she still slowly paced around the being. ''Sure. I can and will teach you the skills of cloaking, stealth and touching the minds whether it were beasts of other sentient beings, even the intricacies of such application... But that's what your master-'' she uttered the word with a mock tone -''expects you to learn from me. When in truth I want to share with you something far greater.'' Jaina assumed that Iruuk's master like many others only had known her from such skills and the tasks she had undertaken with them, but him like many others would be blind to the true powers of the assassin. ''You will be pleased to know that it is in my interest for you to best and kill your master as much as it is in yours.'' she further firmed the consensus of their alliance ''By doing so I would have proved the fruits of my teachings, my ways to be just and correct even when executed through another. So I want to convey and impart a different lesson to you today - the lesson of greater understanding...''

Perspective meant a lot in life in general but with the wielders of the Force itself, as Iruuk himself had stated he had trouble stepping into the Dark and relying on the power itself, something that Jaina was now aiming to correct and share a rather unorthodox method that was, as far as she knew it, unique to her. '' It's a common assumption both within the servants of Light and the followers of the Dark Side that the Force is not only some higher entity but one with a will of it's own.'' She said as she strolled over to some nearby trees, facing away from Iruuk and gazing at their branches. ''But what if the Force is merely a near sentient being ? What if, instead of all it's actions being governed by some higher plan and complex will they are instead mere rites, kicks and nudges done out of primal instinct of a beast and not of some omnipotent sentient intent ? '' She turned to face the Kaleesh as she spoke, now several feet away from him. ''When you summon the Dark Side you must make yourself desirable and alluring to it, not simply wield it as a blunt tool that you exert your command off. Yes.. there is a time for that too but before doing so one must attract the power itself, make it favor you.'' As the assassin spoke what little of the sunlight shone on the pair through the tree branches had gone dark as a shadow engulfed the clearing where Jaina and Iruuk stood, most likely urging the Kaleesh to look up in search of it's source. She continued as she looked upon Iruuk ''Lure, bait, lead on and tame the wrongly presumed omnipotent being...'' The screech of a giant Drexl thundered through the forest as it descended and landed behind Jaina - '' as if it was a simple minded beast.''

The awe inspiring conclusion to Jaina's point in the form of the giant creature lingered behind her, pacified as she spoke once again ''This, as with many things, requires time and the strength of will to master and maintain but you will find that by simply understanding it, truly understanding and applying such a principle will bring you almost immediate improvement in your application of the power.''

Once their temporary contract had been confirmed, Iruuk rose to his feet and his clawed hand reached for his ivory mask. Gently he removed his traditional cover revealing his face and the features accompanied with his Species. His stubby snout and jutting bottom teeth were almost bat like, especially when paired with his long ears. His tusks were a good indication of his youth. They were modest in size and clean, lacking ornaments and jewelry. His fanged jaw and slit tongue moved as he spoke "Then it is done. I shall fall under your tutelage." She then imparted her intentions and her view on the Force. Whether unique to herself or shared with a group of the like minded, Iruuk was unsure. He and his Master had their own views, shared only by their deceased predecessors. Much like their light counterparts the Jedi, the lineage of Iruuk believed in maintaining the balance of the Force. Where they varied was the execution of their mandate. They also saw the darkside as a necessity, comparable to death and decay in natures cycle.

He was however grateful for her aid in his ascent. She was obviously skilled in wielding the Force especially the more primitive life around her. Perhaps a unique form on mental suggestion on a more primal level, he wasn't quite confident in his assumption. What did worry him was his affinity, or lack thereof, of control at THIS level. Jaina was reassuring in her presentation, confirming that abilities at her tier were something built upon and not gained. Level zero was always a good foundation to lay the fundamentals.

"Your understanding of the Force intrigues me, Mistress. But I confess that I do not fully understand it. The manipulation of life as you wield it was never in my training. I've tried mental manipulation on simpler creatures before but the results are unpredictable.".
