Kolas like many young force sensitives was brought into the Jedi order to receive training in the Jedi ways. He was taken from his home of Quarzite at the age of 3 and brought to train under the masters of Tython. The training of the order would prove to be grueling as the order was at war with dark exiles and needed any force sensitives available to fill the ranks of the Jedi forces. This would prove to suit Kolas just fine and the young boy excelled in his early training. He took a particular liking to his martial studies. So much so that early on he found that he rather preferred purely physical weapons to the Lightsaber. He learned all he could about every weapon type and fighting style before him. He would soon become well known for his proficiency in martial combat, though many of the masters worried that the young Kolas may have shown too much aggression in his sparring sessions. Young Kolas always sought utter victory over his opponent, never content with a ruling or a surrender. The masters allowed his training to continue as they knew the Jedi needed every able person to continue the fight against the exiles.
A few years later Kolas began to become even more intrigued by force forged weapons he had come to love. So much so that he would find one of the forges and demand the master take him under his wing. The blacksmith, a Devaronian named Helt, agreed so long as Kolas could prove he knew how to properly wield the weapons. After a long fight the master stood over Kolas laughing. It was the first time Kolas had ever lost and he didn't like it. Though the man's skill impressed the young Kage and he beamed as Helt agreed to train him further in his weapon skills and force forging. More years passed and Kolas' skill with weapons and the forge grew. It wouldn't be long until the masters would approach Kolas and his trials would begin. In the time of war the trials were accelerated and Kolas easily passed. So it would be that at the age of 14 Kolas would become a Jedi Knight.
In the next years Kolas would join his fellow Jedi in the war against the exiles. He fought on many fronts, though was never able to make quite a name for himself as he was mixed in with common soldiers and other low level knights, but among his peers he would prove to me hard to match. Many of the darksiders would feel the sting of his spear or swords. As the war continued Kolas had to admit he admired the exiles. The way they fought was uninhibited and free. They didn't care about protecting the weak or defending the innocent. No they fought for their own goals, to meet their own desires head on. When he looked to the jedi as the war raged, all he saw were hollow beings propped up by ideals that were outdated and would never lead to an end to the conflict.
A decade would pass without an end to the conflict. Kolas would continue to fight, earning more victories and scars in the the name of the "noble" Jedi knights. His skills became honed to a fine edge, so much so that many came to him seeking force forged weapons of their own. Kolas was happy to oblige them in order to practice his art as he had acquired a forge and mallet. As time passed it became that Kolas only truly felt alive while at war or at his forge. He assumed this had something to do with his further lack of respect for his fellow Jedi. Every battle and every weapon he made brought him to admire the exiles more and more. The dark is a patient thing, and over the years Kolas had welcomed more and more of it's corrupting influence into his heart. This didn't frighten the man as the more he succumb the more powerful and free he felt.
The masters finally came to realize just how far he fell after a battle. Kolas had completely abandoned his objective to protect a village of farmers in order to chase down the enemy and seek a worthy fight. The village was slaughtered and when asked why Kolas gave them no regard and claimed, "The weak don't deserve to survive." The masters then felt the overwhelming darkness in the Kage's heart though did not let on at that moment. They would confront him in his own workshop as he worked over his forge. 3 knights and his old master had come to take him into custody. Kolas simply picked up his spear and challenged them. The 3 knights proved no match and as they fell dead the true fight with Master Helt began. The fight would eventually spill out into the common area. Kolas would kill his former master in front of the onlookers. He felt no remorse as Helt fell dead and dark side fully took hold of him. He could feel his power grow and he quickly returned to his forge and retrieved his hammer and sword before he left the enclave, never to look back.
He would go to his new brothers and sisters in darkness and offer gifts of his art to win them over. He himself would re-attune his favored weapons to the dark side and join the battle against his former order. The war would continue for another few years before the exiles finally proved victorious over their kind hearted brethren. The victory would come at great cost to both sides however and the exiles now lacked enough manpower or focus to remain as a single force. Without an enemy to fight the Kage exile would quickly begin to lose purpose. Kolas would return to his home of Quarzite after the war was over. He felt going back to his roots, where he came from, would help him find some purpose to the galaxy. In the mean time he would continue to perfect his forging skills, and his martial abilities to await the day he'd be called on again to put them to the test.
Holorecording of the blow that killed Master Helt
-
Average height with stark white skin. His body is lithe with defined muscle and covered in many scars. His golden eyes are now streaked with red veins from the corruption of the darkside. Is clean shaven at all times and wears his long white hair down. The scar on his face is actually self imposed, and was a sign of his defection from the Jedi.
-
Kolvas first and foremost is a driven man. Any task he sets his mind too will almost always be seen through to completion, be it a mission, training exercise, or new weapon to construct. It was this single mindedness that most likely led him down darker paths, as he became consumed with the thought that the dark side was the true warriors path. Truly a warrior is what Kolvas feels he is in mind and spirit, feeling that the Jedi can only claim to be warriors as long as they cling to their notions of protecting the innocent and weak of the galaxy. That being said, the man doesn't take pleasure in the suffering of those he feels are weak. He merely believes that such beings aren't even worth his time or ability and doesn't kill for the simple pleasure of it.
In social situations the Kage is generally found to be well spoken and for intents and purposes rather polite and charming. This can come off as a bit off putting to most even his fellow exiles whom many dwell in the anger and hatred. Kolvas finds these emotions are better suited to combat and conflict and see's no reason to brood at all times. Though despite this Kolvas usually doesn't make a habit of making too many friends, preferring the solitude of his forge and honing his skills. Though he's always happy to test his skills against a worthy foe.
Once combat begins, all pretense of politeness is dropped and his foe is met with a wall of focus. Though Kolvas doesn't use a light saber his combat style would most closely resemble Juyo outer focus but with roiling emotion just beneath the surface.

Born into the noble house Dimheart of Troska, the young Hallvard seldom wanted for anything. His early life was full of the trappings that noble birth brought, the best clothing, food, and education were at his fingertips at a moments notice. He shared these privileges with an older brother and sister, Norlan and Kevanna. As he grew he came to learn the customs of his planet and it's nobility, though he had little interest and found the court to be a bore. What he did find interesting was his family's vast stock of weaponry and the tales of the old lords and the many wars fought across the planet to claim honor and glory for House Dimheart. As soon as he was able he begged his father to allow him to begin training to become a warrior so that he might one day bring honor to his family on the battlefield. His father didn't take much prodding as Halvard had grown into quite the physical specimen. He began to train daily with his brother and sister, under the watchful eye of the house's master of arms.
He would train for years and become a prime example of a Troskan fighter, strong, resilient, and ruthless. He took so well to his combat studies that his father and master of arms saw fit to allow him to help in the training of the house foot soldiers. He gladly accepted the honor and took to his new duties with pride and enthusiasm. While he focused on combat his older siblings would begin to be groomed to take over rule of the house in the future. This suited Hallvard just fine as he never cared for the complexities of inter-house politics.
In time his father, Kavun, aged and decided the family sword, Ebonshard, needed to be passed down. To decide, Hallvard and Norlan would duel to see who would hold the blade. Kevenna only being excluded as she preferred the bow and short blades. The day came and all across Troska people came or watched the spectacle. After a long fought duel Hallvard managed to put his older brother on his backside, proving to be the best of House Dimheart. His father and mother beamed with pride as Hallvard helped up his brother and embraced him. In a solemn ceremony later the evening Hallvard was bequeathed Ebonshard, and with it vowed to always protect his family and his House.
Things would continue as normal for years for Hallvard until the unfortunate day that his sister and mother would fall ill from a plague that had begun to ravage the planet. The 2 women would pass with many others of the planet before a cure would finally be discovered. The cure many claimed came too late as 10% of the planet's population had died. Entire houses in some cases ceased to exist and unrest began to grow throughout the planet.
As time went on more and more citizens began to blame the royal family for the lose of so much life during the years of the plague. One house, House Rockbone, became the most outspoken opponents to the crown. This would eventually lead House Rockbone into open rebellion against the crown. The Rockbone's sought allies among the other noble houses and many rallied to their cause. Hallvard's father would choose to ally with the Rockbones as the leader of Dimheart still felt the pain of loosing his wife and daughter.
The rebellion would continue for months with neither the crown or the rebellion gaining the upperhand. That would be until crown gained futher support and began to push back the rebels. House Rockbone facing loss after lose would make a final stand with the last of it's supporters at the Stonehelm, the Rockbone's family compound. The battle proved disastrous for the rebels forces that were far outnumbered. Hallvard himself fought with all the ferocity he had, but the years had turned him into a pragmatic man, one that could see the battle was a lost cause before it had even begun. It took the sight of his father, shot through the chest by a pulsewave rifle, to finally make Hallvard realize what needed to be done. He approached the leader of the rebellion. The man was shouting for the rebels to fight to the last and continued to give orders. The orders stopped once Hallvard plunged Ebonshard into the man's back. He let the failed leader fall to the ground and the fighting slowly stopped as all stood shocked at what Hallvard had done. He didn't care, it needed to end so he ended it. He returned to his father's body and carried his corpse off the battlefield as the rebellion forces surrendered.
After the fall of the rebels forces, the crown made an example of many of the houses that took part in the uprising. Many houses were ended after trials to determine their part. Others survived, including House Dimheart. It was deemed the house would be allowed to continue as long as tribute to the crown was increased. Hallvard faced a seperate trial. He was deemed dishonorable according to the laws of Troska. He had slain the leader he'd sworn to serve. This was usually met with death on the planet, but an exception was made as what the man had done brought an end to the civil war. Instead Hallvard would be exiled from Troska for his deeds. He would be allowed to keep his armor and be given passage offworld, but after that it would be up to him to make his way. He approached his brother who had been injured during the war and attempted to give Ebonshard to Norlan. His brother refused with sorrow in his eyes. The blade would never be considered fit to wield as it had been used in an act of betrayal. Hallvard understood and would keep the blade on him at all times as keep sake of home and a reminder of the sacrifice he had made to save his family and house.
He would take passage off world on a trading vessel and not look back. He'd been offworld a few times, but he always had a way to come home. Now he would wander, trying to find a place worthy of a seasoned warrior. -
Tall with a well defined musculature and dark skin. Has black hair with a some grey starting to show and usually has some type of facial hair (can vary depending on mood and if he's had time to groom. Body also has several scars from previous fights and battles.

Hallvard is best described as a caring yet pragmatic man. Essentially meaning that he'll fight for a cause he feels is just, yet it would have be incredibly close to his heart for him to die for it. The same would be said of those close to him, fighting for and aiding them within reason. He justifies this usually by claiming "Well can't help you if I'm dead". This attitude is what led him to backstab the patriarch of House Rockbone once he learned that the battle was lost. This by no means makes Hallvard a coward, he just see's the world in a practical light. He's extremely slow to anger however and if angered doesn't hold grudges long if wronged.
When it comes to more personal relationships, Hallvard can come off a bit gruff at first but this will quickly pass. Once a being can really get to know Hallvard and become friends with him; they've made a friend for life. This is most likely due to his upbringing among the Troskan nobles, who while loving pomp and circumstance, also promoted close inter-family ties and bonding. Hallvard can often come off as a bit of a flirt when it comes to women however and was a notorious womanizer in his younger days, though this habit has settled as he's grown older.
In combat Hallvard is ruthless, taking any and every advantage he can gain. Troskan style combat leaves little room for indecisive action and Hallvard has taken this style of fighting to it's peak. -
