  • Thread Prefix: Fanon
  • Name: The Concordian Pygmy Dragon but more commonly called Dawn Dragons
  • Biology: Flying reptiles with an average weight between 530-1600g, average length between 36-49cm, and average wingspan between 100-110cm. They come in a various shades of dark blues and greens with sort of gradient effect giving them decent natural camouflage. Their wings are how ever the most striking as they are semi translucent reducing their profile while flying. Males and females are borderline identical except for their tails. Males have thicker wider tails while females have thinner forked tales. The males use their thicker tails during mating season to attract mates using them to fan pheromones that the females find irresistible. The dragons are also highly intelligent and posses a very mild temperament. Thus they make excellent pets and companions forming strong bonds with an owner and can learn commands and tasks easily, especially if taken in at a young age. They are prized as companions not just for their loyalty though, as the dawn dragon have an extremely keen eyesight, able to detect even the slightest motion from long distances and dive to at incredible speed to attack a target once honed in. This makes them highly valuable hunting companions for many. Though there are drawbacks such as the dawn dragons rapid metabolic rate. They need to consume food in amounts that doubles their body weight to stay healty. Also like many reptiles they are cold blooded and require a time every so often to bask and warm their bodies. They should never be taken into extremely cold environments do to this. Their bodies are also rather fragile as their bones are mostly hollow to allow them to take flight easier.
  • Breeding: Dawn Dragons reproduce sexually like many other reptile species. Though unlike many reptile species Dawn Dragons take great care of their young. After a gestation of about 10 weeks the female will lay eggs that usually take another week to hatch. The male and female will help raise, providing food and shelter as the young mature. Once the young are around 2 months old they are expected to leave the nest and fend for themselves while the breeding pair also go their separate ways. Though often the same pair will mate with each other again the following mating season, which still baffles many researchers.
  • Strengths: Extremely good eyesight and motion detection at long distances(Up to 1.6km). Fast flyers able to reach speeds of 322km/h when diving after prey. Good natural camouflage and low profile while flying due to translucent wings. Very intelligent and can learn commands and follow orders quite well. Very loyal to their owners if they have one.
  • Weaknesses: Cold blooded, they need time daily to bask and warm their bodies and are useless in extremely cold environments due to this. They are quite fragile and even minor blows can easily injure them. They need alot of food to keep up with their fast metobolic rate and can tire easily if not fed enough. Can become depressed if something happens to their owner
  • Diet: Carnivorous beings, the Dawn Dragon sustains itself on a diet of small rodents, insects, and other avian creatures of Concord Dawn.
  • Behavior/Temperament: All Dawn Dragons are highly intellegent creatures able to perform very basic problem solving tasks and can follow more complex commands with training.
  • Communication: Squeals, chirps, and purring are known calls of the Dawn Dragon.
  • History: Inhabitants of Concord Dawn have had a good relationship with the flying reptiles since times untold. They are known for their temperament to be good companions but most concordians are happy to have even wild Dawn Dragons around as they help keep rodents and pests under control.
  • Planet: Concord Dawn and Mandalore (Via export from Concord Dawn)
  • Intent: I wanted to give my character Vax a companion and aid from his homeworld, but alos give any other Mando's a chance to have one as well. Wanted it to be a rather intelligent but non-sentient being that can act as Vax's eyes in the sky and as Canon species for Concord Dawn are scarce I decided to create one.

BIOGRAPHY

Jago, unlike many of his people, would never see the crashing waves, tranquil beaches, or peaceful coves of his homeworld. This was not his mother and father's way. They were Matukai and Jago was born into their cloistered order. The order was hidden away for good reason as decades ago they also suffered at the hands of the Empire and were nearly wiped out along with the Jedi. As such Jago grew up on the move, his small clan of Matukai constantly on the move from planet to planet like many other small bands of the secretive order.


As with all Matukai Jago began training in martial arts the moment he could lift his fists. He excelled in his training which included numerous martial arts and melee weapons. His training also included the more mysterious force practices of the Matukai. He took eagerly to his early training and was soon a fighting machine of lean muscle and precise control of his body.


Overtime Jago became bored with the endless training and longed to put his skills to use. He would begin to sneak out of his clans camp and wander into settlements. The young Nautolan would use his skills to help people in need whenever he could, believing that his skills should be used to help others, not lay hidden away for fear of the Matukai being discovered. He did this for years and helped many right under the noses of his fellow Matukai. He would finally go to the leaders of his clan and reveal what he’d been doing. While disappointed they understood that Jago’s intentions were good. The elders decided that it was time to end training and take action. They believed that if the Jedi could return so could their own order. So Jago and many others left the cloister, and sought out pilgrimage in the stars. They had 3 major goals in mind: Help those in need, try to find other members of the Matukai in order to rebuild, and to better understand the place their new order would have in the current galaxy.


So now Jago wanders from port to port, seemingly just a poor simple traveler, but anyone in need would soon find that he was more than capable of defending them.

Personality

Jago is easy going, boisterous, and jovial. He almost always has a smile on his face, but he practically beams when given an opportunity to showcase his skills. He feels the most joyful when engaged in combat, not to dominate, but just enjoying the physical aspect and challenge.


Jago can however prove to be a bit headstrong, sometimes rushing into situations without full context or information if he thinks he can be of use. This can be annoying but his easy going nature makes it very easy for Jago to make new friends, hell some would say too easily as the Nautolan can be too trusting.

Force Abilities:

The Matukai force practices and traditions differ greatly from the Jedi or Sith. The main difference is they see physical activity and meditation as one in the same, thus the harder they push their bodies the stronger their connection to the force becomes. To achieve this the Matukai focus all their training and energies into mastering their own bodies, achieving a level of mastering over their physical being that few can imagine.


This means that most Matukai, Jago included have no ability to use the force to influence the world around them. This means no telepathy, telekinetic abilities or energy manipulation for Jago. What he can do however is just as astonishing as anything Jedi can do. He is able to use the force to augment his own body to move faster, hit harder, and take more abuse through allowing the force to flow smoothly through his body. Similar to the way a Jedi can but on a deeper physical level allowing the user to use this ability with much less of a drain on users stamina.


Feeding the force into their bodies in this way also allows for other odd abilities. Such as being able to control the users body temperature, to a level of even burning to touch. Enhancements to one's natural senses like sight, hearing, or smell. A more advanced technique, with enough training a Matukai can gain such control over their own physical form that they can easily discern injuries or toxins in their body; that with enough training can become immune to disease and poisons. Jago is not at that level yet, but he has some training and knowledge of the technique making him harder to take down with conventional poisons or toxins.


Finally some masters can even harden their muscle fibers making their bodies more rigid in order to deflect physical attack. Jago can only use this technique over very small areas of his body and as of now is very draining, it’s a last resort that definitely needs more training.

History
While not as ancient as either the Jedi or Sith, the Matukai order proper has existed for millennia. Unfortunately over the years the Matukai have lost much of there history. As most of the stories of their order were passed down through oral traditions, the multiple purges of light side organizations and the Matukai's own nomadic nature, have resulted in a scattered version of their history.

The history being so scattered at this point in time, that the Matukai have no recollection of who even started the organization. All that is known is that it was a prolific martial artist, that through the practice of their art came to realize they were force sensitive. From there the male or female began to gather followers, with no bias for race or gender. The first of which were believed to be from the Karvoss system and surrounding planets. The founder taught these followers what they had learned, that the use of martial arts, and physical exertion could deepen one's connection to the force; or Light as the the Matukai would begin to call it.

After a time the Matukai became nomadic and began to spread their teachings of the light side of the force. At any given time it's believed that the Matukai order never numbered over 200 members in the entire galaxy. Though their influence would be felt in whatever settlements they visited, as the group was strictly allied with the Light Side of force. They aided whoever they could in their travels.

It's believed that at some point after the 100 year darkness that the Jedi approached the Matukai to absorb the warriors into the Jedi order. While never growing violent the 2 orders just could not see eye to eye, with many Matukai against the Jedi's practice of separating children from their parents. Understandably so as many Matukai clans spanned multiple generations.

The Matukai prospered, never making much a name for themselves in the galaxy, but always fighting for the Light. Until the time of the Galactic Sith Empire of Sheev Palpatine. The Matukai were hunted as relentlessly as the Jedi, their already small numbers dwindling even more. What remained of the order went into hiding, though some believe they joined in the fight on the side of the Rebellion army.

After the fall of the Empire the minuscule number of Matukai left resumed their nomadic ways, though they kept strictly to their own clans, not even interacting much with fellow Matukai. They feared what would happen if they showed themselves again and remained hidden during the conflict with the First Order. Though some say there were a few sightings of the warriors even then.

Now the Matukai still travel and keep to themselves. Though there are whispers among some of the organization that it may be time to re-emerge and aid the galaxy against the threat of the new Sith threat. Time will tell if the Matukai make a larger impact on the galaxy going forward, but as always these warriors will be ready to defend the Light and innocent wherever they travel.

Description
An order of essentially nomadic martial artists that adhere strictly to teachings and the ways of the Light side of the force. Through the use of meditative martial arts, somatic rituals, and physical exercise they have developed a way to deepen their connection to the force. They achieve this by training their bodies under usually extreme conditions in order to push their limits as far as possible The order also believes in maintaining a clean body and spirit in order to allow the force to flow through them and avoid the taint of the Dark side.

Matukai Training

Many would also consider the Matukai to be some of the most dangerous combatants in the galaxy due to their mastery most known martial arts in the galaxy usually including multiple forms of melee weapon training as well. Though typically only the most powerful and oldest Matukai have mastered multiple martial arts. Most Matukai pick a preferred fighting style and master it fully before moving on to another. Some of the most popular forms being Teras Kasi, Echani, K'tara, Zama-shiwo, and Stava

The Force is also channeled strangely through a Matukai warrior. The average Matukai focuses all their abilities and training on perfecting themselves in order to turn their body into the perfect weapon. This means the Matukai forgo the use of the force to affect the world around them. Instead they enhance themselves and their natural bodies. As they move and exert themselves they become closer to the force and can channel it more easily. Abilities that come from this include: Enhancing their muscles structure to increase speed or power of their attacks, sense and cleanse poison and diseases from their bodies, slow their aging, enhance their natural stamina letting them perform acrobatic feats for longer times, raise or lower their body temperature to the point of being burning to the touch, harden parts of their body to reduce physical damage, and enhance the use of their natural senses such as hearing or sight.

Demonstration of Ablities

Like the Jedi and Sith the Matukai also have a signature weapon, the wan-shen. Typically a polearm that is hand made by the Matukai who wields it. The process of which imbues the weapon with a bit of the force signature of the maker. This combined with being made of typically lightsaber resistant materials makes the weapon extremely durable. The weapon can usually be broken down for ease of carrying, but when in use and combined with the training of a Matukai; it can be devastatingly effective. Though in recent years the use of the weapon has fallen out of style. Many believing that it causes the Matukai user to stick out far too much. In response the Matukai developed another weapon of sorts. The Matukai Gauntlets. These gauntlets are typically customized and allow the Matukai to defend themselves and go unnoticed easier.

Current Structure and Active Members
The Matukai's nomadic nature lends poorly to traditional leadership roles. Typically the voices of the eldest members of any clan or cloister of Matukai carry the most weight. Though everyone has a say in the matters of the clan. The Matukai also don't have much of rank system, usually a younger person still in training is simply referred to as an apprentice. Older members who have usually mastered the basic Matukai training are called adepts. The oldest and most venerable Matukai or simply referred to as Master or Elder.

Currently only a few Matukai of note exist in the galaxy, with most of the order slowly becoming more active.

BIOGRAPHY

To know Vell one must know the Redgrave family. While not as prominent as other noble houses of Serenno, the Redgraves had a sizeable fortune and enough influence to matter. Though their influence could have grown if it choose and many wondered why the Redgraves never grew in influence. It was in fact the design of the Redgrave house to never have too many eyes upon it. All the better to hide the secrets of the house, a house that had ties to the ancient Sith.

The Redgraves maintained their policy of flying under the radar until the time of Vell's father Darpan. Darpan thought himself worthy of taking the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith and began to expand the Redgraves influence and power. Darpan's powers grew as well, until the wrong eyes fell on him. A rival had discovered Darpan's plans and conspired to end the threat of Darpan's power. An assault on the Redgraves Serenno manor by the Guardians would result in the deaths of most of the Redgraves and the burning of their home. Only 2 would survive, Vell and his caretaker Ultvain. Vell would watch from a distance as his home and life burned to cinders before his eyes.

Ultvain would smuggle them off world. The pair were always on the move, but managed to remain hidden as Ultvain assumed that the conspirtors didn't know of their survival or simply didn't care. Either way once Vell was ready Ultvain, trained in Sith techniques himself, would take it upon himself to train his young master in the ways of the force. Vell would grow up seeped in tales of the ancient Sith and his families history, and learned much of the galaxy and it's cultures as they moved. He grew to revere the Sith completely and longed to reclaim his father's legacy once he was ready.

When rumors spread that the Sith were resurfacing Ultvain knew it was time to strike. Ultvain told Vell it was his chance to join the Sith, find the one that killed his family and robbed him of his birthright. Only one final test was needed. A Sith needed to kill his master to ascend. Vell had to kill Ultvain, his master and only remaining tie to his former life. After a pitched fight Vell was victorious. As a last gift Ultvain would leave Vell a ship to accomplish his mission. As Vell donned the armor he'd been using for years, he would leave his name and old life behind him. He'd take the name Ignis, flame in an ancient Sith dialect, as since youth he'd feared fire. He'd spread that fear to his enemies and re-forge his life in the fires of his vengeance. He'd find the conspirators against his family if they yet lived and reclaim his birthright, that of a Dark Lord of the Sith.
Personality

Vell gives off a sense of calm, control, and class. This is thanks to his caretakers lessons thus Vell comes off as a rather unusual darksider. Usually liking to be in some degree of control of any situation he finds himself in, though he has a great sense of his own weaknesses and strengths. Even when not in control he is skilled in manipulating people and events to gain said advantage. This is due to his vast knowledge of history and cultures of the galaxy; able to identify weaknesses in his enemy, particularly their fears.

Though Vell can also tend towards being a bit on the paranoid side. Most notably in his use of a voice disguise and full body covering despite that fact that no one living should know his true identity past the Ignis persona. Also sense he has no idea of the identities of those responsible for the downfall of the Redgraves within the Sith, he is slow to trust. Though among the Sith this may not be a bad thing.

Vell also lacks a sense of humor as his focus is usually on the task at hand or some kind of plot. He has little time for With, but is quite well spoken. Oddly enough he's slow to anger despite being fueled by the Darkside. Using said passions to fuel his own agenda or power instead of outwardly showing his anger, hatred, or fear. He just believes that even if one is fueled by passion, it doesn't mean one can't have a bit of class right?

Cigo spent the first few years of his life being raised by his father on Concord Dawn. They were farmers and as far as Cigo could tell they were relatively happy. The young boy would often question his father about his mother, to which his father would always simply respond, "She's just busy son, but one day you'll meet her I promise." That would generally satisfy Cigo, but the question of where and who his mother was would always linger in the back of his mind.

Circumstance would conspire to force Cigo to meet his mother however. His father fell terminally ill and was forced to contact Cigo's mother, Rullin. Cigo marveled as she stepped through the door of their home, clad in armor and bristling with weapons. She would be taking Cigo once his father passed. The mother and son would wait and bury the father, then head out into the galaxy. Rullin explained that his father wanted to spare Cigo the harsh Mandalorian lifestyle. She had respected his wishes, but that would be impossible with his mother taking him. Rullin would begin to train Cigo the next day. His mother specialized in commando work so Cigo's training would follow suit.

Years passed and Cigo's training intensified until the the day of his Verd'goten. Rullin would praise her son for his ability's and presented him with his own Beskar'gam. They would from there make their way as mercenaries and sold their skills to whoever would pay. All the while Rullin would share with Cigo tales of the old glory days of the Mandalorians and how disappointed she was that she and her son had no cause to fight for.

Decades would pass and Cigo skill only grew under the continued training of his mother and the many battlefields they visited. Though as his skills grew so did his resentment at the state of the Mandalorian people. He felt his and his mother's skills were waisted on the various warlords and petty local militias that hired the pair. He longed to fight for a cause along side his fellow vods. His mother sadly would not get to see it, a lucky blaster bolt catching her un-armored side. She died in Cigo's arms with a final lament of their place in the galaxy.

Cigo would inherit the ship his mother and himself had called home all these years. He continued his own journey, but deep down he knew he couldn't keep fighting forever without some greater purpose. He'd move forward and aim to live up to the legacy his mother had left him, the legacy of the Mandalorians.
Personality

Cigo would be considered to be rather out going for a Mandalorian. Not that he's overly talkative, he's just more charismatic than you typical stoically quiet mando'a. Mostly meaning he's just open to have an actual conversation with non-mandos and generally able to make friends, though he doesn't trust easily. When talking most take note of Cigo extremely dry wit and sarcastic nature.

His upbringing under his mother's teaching and stories has instilled a belief in Cigo that Mandalorians are truly the greatest warriors in the galaxy. While this doesn't lead him to overconfidence he does tend to look down on other warriors not trained in the Mandalorian tradition. However this also gives Cigo a strong sense of honor, and he remains true to the Mandalorian creed to the best of his ability. Though he does not follow "the way" and considers himself a modern Mandalorian, able to remove his helmet and show his face.

DESCRIPTION
The HWK-290 can trace it's origins back before the Clone Wars. CEC developed the ship to appeal to a different market than their popular YT series. The idea behind the HWK series was to provide higher ranking corporate and government officials with reliable, fast, and maneuverable option for transporting important documents or cargo. To accomplish this the ship was given a sleeker (at least by CEC standards) angular design, light armor, and no stock armaments.

Their ambitions unfortunately didn't really pay off however. As those who purchased it were quick fans of the ship, the HWK-290 was considered by most to be a commercial failure. The ship's niche design just didn't appeal to wide enough market or even the market the the initially intended. Those who did buy it praised it's design, unique cockpit configuration (with a asymmetrical seating structure, and it's speed and maneuverability for a ship it's class. The ship also sported a rather cozy bunk style crew quarter and refresher.

The ship didn't experience a long production either, as once the Clone Wars broke out in full CEC ceased production of the HWK-290 to focus on production of warships and the much more popular YT series of ships. Those who did have the ship usually went on to take advantage of one of the HWK-290 less advertised features, it's high customization. The ship allowed for the easy addition of armaments if the user desired as well as engine modifications and cargo capacity adjustments. After a period it became unusual to see a stock HWK-290 in the wild.

Most thought the story of this unique ship would end, but after the fall of the Empire CEC took another look at the series. In the years following the fall of the Empire and the rise of the New Republic the need for a reliable transport for a single person or small group began to look more appealing with the rising dangers on the hyperspace lanes. So CEC decided to see how the HWK series would fair in this new era with some small design adjustments. Most notable of which was the addition of a stock medium laser turret and an standard armor plating, since research showed that these were the 2 major modifications that most made to the ship. This slowed the ship down a bit and it took a slight hit to it's agility, but it still outclassed the larger ships of its class in those regards. CEC also updated the ships interior with updated living quarters, refresher, and mini galley. The living quarters could easily be converted into a cozy dining area with pull out table and seating, that all fit neatly in the aft of the ship with the cargo hold behind it.

These changes made the changed proved fruitful as the series sold decently well, to the point that every few years CEC will produce another limited run of the ship to this day.

Outside of history the HWK-290 has always been praised for smooth controls that many say are intuitive. The HWK's customization also includes the ships controls. As most of the ships systems can all be accessed from the pilot's position, including sensors, navigation, and weapons. Though the functions are limited with only one pilot, such as the turret being locked into a forward position without the aid of a co-pilot. Navigation also suffers from lack of a copilot or dedicated droid intelligence to aid the pilot.

LEGALITY
Legal in all systems as the ship is seen as primarily a personal transport. Though smugglers have been known to use the ships, a HWK-290 would still only get a passing glance unless outfitted with some serious armament.

INTENT
To add this lovely little canon/legends ship to the site for anybody who wants to use it. Essentially after watching the Mandalorian I wanted to fill the niche of wanting a personal starship of that size, but since the Razor Crest is fully custom built I figured the HWK-290 could fill that roll. I did make some slight alterations, but figured that would be natural after such a long time.

Cigo's Beskar'gam

This is Iron Skin of Cigo Duarn. It's been heavily modified and re-forged since it was first presented to Cigo at the completion of his Verd'goten. It's a bit of an unsual design compared to most Beskar'gams, designed to aid Cigo in his role as mercenary commando.

With the scarcity of Beskar these days, the only part of Cigo armor that is even close to pure Beskar is the helmet with darkened transparisteel for the visor. Inside said helmet are all the modern necessities like a built in comlink, basic Hud, and integrated sound system. The rest of the armor is made up duraplast plates laid over a fitted environment suit with hardened leather gloves and equipment holsters..


LEGALITY

Would definitely garner glances from all around, but for the most part nobody would reasonably arrest Cigo for wearing it.

Just the custom Mando armor for my Mando guy.

Function 1: Environment Suit

  • While it is not rated for extended exposure to extreme hazards, this body suit (when combined with an enclosed helmet) can protect the wearers body from the effects of environmental and weaponized toxins and similar hazards for up to 5 posting rounds.
Function 2: Whipcord Launcher (Right Bracer)

  • The whipcord launcher was a personal weapon that fired a thin fibercord whip which then wrapped around and ensnared the target to restrict mobility up to 10 meters away while remaining attached to the mount point. It was detachable with a second use of the firing button. The whipcord launcher was favored by bounty hunters, as it was easy to carry and use and it virtually always ensured a live capture, though it could be cut by a vibro blade with ease.
Function 3: Vision Modes

  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light OR thermal vision modes.
Function 4: Wrist Rocket (Left Bracer)

  • Wrist rockets have a flight range of 100 meters and have a blast radius of 3 meters. They are single-shot devices and require manual reloading after use. They are effective against lightly armored vehicles, moving parts such as gears or hydraulics, and infantry, and do equivalent damage to a frag grenade. The must be manually fired by button or trigger.
Function 5: Jetpack

  • Jet packs are back mounted units used by elite troops increase their mobility on the battlefield. The jet pack's maximum speed is 50 kph and it carries fuel for up to five minutes of continuous flight (flight mode), but can also be fired in short bursts triggered by jumping (combat mode). The wearer can control the system to switch between modes and/or disengage it from their armor via wrist controls. These packs are cumbersome, adding an additional 8kg for the average human (larger individuals will have heavier jet packs to support their weight). While the fuel is stable enough not to explode, direct hits from weapons can trigger the system inadvertently, after which it is rendered useless.

Ignis' Armor

This is the personal armor and disquise of Vell Redgrave or Ignis. The term armor is used loosely as the only amored bits are an duraplast helmet and shoulder armor. The wrists are protected by Phrik vambracers to protect Ignis from attempts to disarm him.

The armor primary function is to hide Vell's identity from fellow Sith or anybody who would happen to know his past while he seeks vengeance for the death of his family. The ever paranoid Ignis has even gone so far to include a voice scrambler to hide his voice to meet this end.


LEGALITY

Would definitely garner glances from all around, but for the most part nobody would reasonably arrest Ignis for wearing it.

  • Computer spikes are used to forcibly decrypt or unlock computer terminals. Most civilian systems can be cracked in one posting round, while most military or hardened systems take two or more.
Function 3: Armorweave Accessory

  • Most often in the form of a heavy cape, skirt, or underlay beneath armor, armor weave provides some protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives and other unpowered high velocity impacts, with only a small amount of bleed through damage (bruising or very minor wounds). It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, vibroweapons, or similar "powered" weapons. Having more than one accessory (example: Cape + underweave) provides no additional effect.

The personal star ship of Ignis. The Maurder's caretaker would have this ship built in secret. So secret in fact that after completion of the build the engineers involved were murdered to maintain Ignis' anonymity. Designed to have a slim profile to aid it's master in quick infiltration and exfiltration while having a striking profile to ward off enemies of Ignis. The ship was also designed to offer a home away from home for Ignis, even if a bit spartan on the inside.
