Reed just sat back as he watched the Commander pilot the freighter out of the hanger and towards their destination.

"Alright here we go." Hetat sped towards a moon in the system which serves as a flight training. "Now get over here in the co-pilot seat and fly around. Just don't activate weapons."

Reed took a moment to look over the controls. They were fairly similar to those in a smaller ship. He took the controls and started to fly towards the moon. As he got the hang of it, he started to turn and dip. He entered and left orbit of the moon and then flew around some more. He looked at the Commander for further instruction.

"Hold on a second." Hetat pressed in several buttons. Three targets popped up. "Remember what I said about not firing? Go ahead. You have three shots per target, make'm count."

Three shots were more than enough. He carefully aimed and took into account that the targets were moving. Fired and took each one out with one shot each.

"Not bad. Deactivate the weapons and let's talk."

"Now you have done a expert job at the few things I have asked you to do. Now what makes you think you can take command of a squadron or ship and use it as good as part of your own body?"

"Sir. I will not try to be the most modest when I say this, but am i not one of the best pupils that you have had? I can competantly pilot a vessel and the tests have shown that I can lead a small FLEET. But no sir. I don't believe that I can really learn to deal with the lives of real men is a test environment. I believe that I am compitant enough to be a good leader. But not a strong leader. Not yet at least. I have not tasted real battle in a while. I led men that day when the pirates raided, but after my enrollment in the military, I saw that battle was more than just mindless killing. There is an objective. Always an objective. And unless you fufill that objective, it is failure. I may seem like a perfectionist, but I believe that I am ready to lead, but I would like to lead with supervision", the Officer Cadet waited for the reply.

"I might be able to lend strength to that. I will ask a friend to allow us to come aboard and let you take command of one of the squadrons. The Squadron leader will still be there and he will watch you and report back to me. I will remain on the bridge with the Captain. Just to see how well you do in a new environment with a new leader. But note this: as soon as you begin to screw up, the Sqaudron Leader is back in command." Hetat then looked out the viewport. "And you will screw up." Then Hetat took back control and flew them down to Coruscant.

After they landed Hetat left the craft.

"Tommorrow meet me at Hangar 11B-1e. We'll get a ride up to the ship." Hetat turned to leave and while he was going he said, "Get some rest."

Reed went to his quarters and reviewed his day. He then went to his bed and slept. When the sound of the bugle playing woke him, he headed over to Hangar 11B-1e.

Hetat was waiting in the hangar, next to a standard dropship, filled with standard soldiers. Hetat was in a ground pounders' uniform and smiling.

"I hope you're ready." Hetat and Reed got inside the dropship and it took off to the ship in orbit.

"What's that kid doing Hetat?" "Yeah can't believe you're training babies these days." "Be lucky if you got through anything this guy makes you do kid." These were some of the comments made by the troopers in the dropshp.

"Well Officer Cadet Cabilla, anything to say?" hetat smiled gauging what Reed might do.

Reed looked at the group, then at the Commander.

"Hello everyone. I'm the new Officer Cadet. I have made it my duty to get to know the enlisted corps and be friendly with them. You may be asking why I am here. Well, I'm good with ships and am here to pilot it. I guess you could say that I'm as good with ships as you guys are with blasters? Hehe."

The group of soldiers moaned. "Weak answer kid." The voice came from the back of the group. "Well get to know us better then." Said another.

Hetat stood smiling. "Boys, he's a kid, he doesn't know much. Sure let him guide you around a cockpit and you'll have five pages of notes. But let him talk." Hetat turned to Reed. "well say something."

Reed looked at the crowd.

"I used to be an escort pilot and lead some men against some pirates. I do have combat experience. I am here to lead you men."

"We're grondpounders not pilots kiddo."

Hetat turned. "Well they are groundpounders not pilots. You'll be leading the pilots not these guys." The dropship docked with the ship and The soldiers began to leave it. Hetat took Reed up to the bridge. "Treat the Captain with respect you would have for a admiral. He's that good." The doors to the bridge opened revealing a open space and Hetat walked up to the one who was obviously the Captain

"Captain Lovell, it's been a while." The man turned revealing lips split by a scar, eyes greyer than any moon, and a smile so warm your mom is feeling left out.

"Hetat, it's been awhile indeed. Can't wait for the search."

Reed saw the Captain and bowed. Then he saluted and said, "Sir. I am here to train."

"Ah yes, Officer Cadet Cabilla. Go down to the Hangar and meet up with the squadron. It'll be a little bit till we get where we are going." The Captain then turned to Hetat. "So still training kids? I thought they would try having you on the front. You're one hell of a commander."

"Contrary to popular belief, I am only friends with a few other officers."

Reed made his way down to the hangar. He saw the squad and hurried over to meet them.

"Hi. I'm Officer Cadet Reed Cabilla and I am here to lead you guys."

The group looked at eachother. "Well he's one stuck-up bugger." "Bet he can't wait to tell us to attack some ship." "Eh, he's a little young." "I thought Hetat was doing something better." These were just a few of the comments whispered to eachother.

But one man started to walk back over to the group. "Hey Gold Squadron, shut up with the smack. I'll be looking over his shoulder so no worries. Besides Hetat said I could disable his comm system if he began giving out bad orders." The soldier in the flight suit turned to Reed. "I'm Leiutenant Commander Bront. This," he said waving to his comrades,"this is gold squadron. Treat them nicely or they'll tell Hetat bad things."
