DESCRIPTION​

Although it bears heavily resemblance to the TIE Line of starfighters, this craft is not. This line of craft is known as the TRIE Line, which is strongly speculated to stand for Triple Rotary Ion Engines although this wasn't confirmed. Instead of being produced by Sienar Fleet Systems, this line of craft is produced by Sluis Van Shipyards. Which company or entity first designed the TRIE craft is unknown, all that is known is that Sluis Van manufactures these craft, and these are modern-designed craft.

The TRIE Line is based around it's central half-sphere cockpit with a weak engine on the back and outfitted with a ring which grants it weapons, wings, much more potent engines, and hyperdrive. When flying, the TRIE craft make the roar/howl that TIE fighters do, having similar ion engines.

The TRIE is a powerful and well designed ship. The vessel is on par with the TIE Defender on paper and very much so in practice. The ship although has only a light shield generator, it makes up for that with speed and agility. In the hands of a skilled pilot, they are mitigate incoming damage by avoiding incoming enemy fire entirely with it's fast and graceful movements. The wings are normally spread out at an angle, but they use S-foils, so the wings can fold inside, in which position the craft can land.

With six laser cannons on the baseline attachment ring, the ship packs a big punch, giving it firepower almost on par with the TIE Defender. The attachment rings can come in many varieties and the hardpoints are modular. Any number of laser cannons could be swapped out for ion cannons. Or if they needed striking power in the form of missiles, those are an option.

With the combination of shields, speed, agility, and weapons, the TRIE is a powerful combatant in starfighter combat. These ships come with a high price tag and these ships are rare. Unfortunately though, the TRIE craft and it's ring cannot be upgraded with aftermarket/improvised modification, due to the high-performance parts and design not being compatible with them.
