Triellus Trade Route and broader Hutt Space 'closed to Imperial shipping' reports suggest.
Reports from the Consortium have today suggested that the Hutt Cartels 'Supreme Mogul' Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra has 'closed Hutt Space', including the infamous Triellus Trade Route (known to Spacers as the 'Hutt Highway', to shipping to and from the Sith Empire. The report comes as numerous corporations announced a cessation of ties to the Empire, following a series of invasions and attacks against the Consortium. If confirmed, this move marks the first time in centuries that the Hutt Clans have taken direction action against another power - the last time being the closure of their space to the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, centuries ago.
Speaking to the Herald today...
The report trailed off as Nor'baal turned down the volume on his screen from within the private quarters of his Palace on Nal Hutta.
As the news had reported, it was an unprecedented action from the Clans, but Nor'baal was no fool, and he could see how the wind was turning. Fortune favoured the Hutts, as ever, as earlier in the day they had been contacted by none other than his old boss, President Thorne of the ISC, who had asked what the Clans would request in return for their compliance in shutting the space lanes to the Sith Empire. He had known what to ask for, an assurance that the Consortium would 'leave the Cartel alone' as they went about their business and the ISC to 'look the other way' when smuggling off of Kessel.
President Thorne had agreed.
Just like that, the deal was done, and the order was given.
Hutt Space was now closed to the Sith Empires' ships, and the ''Hutt Highway'' would see open season on their vessels for all pirates looking to make a quick score. Nor'baal smirked to himself, and went back to his meal, guzzling down slabs of seasoned bantha meat, as he plotted how best to exploit this situation even further. @Sreeya
