Clove had begun to seek out more lessons in her quest to take things a little more seriously and prepare herself for the future. History lessons were one thing she lacked greatly. When there was so much going on in the present, why dwell on the past? Still, It was important, so she went around the temple of Yavin IV asking for history lessons. They responded by directing her to Ephiny Daivand, a Jedi knight and Archivist. She approached the Archivist with a bright blush on her already pink cheeks and asked for a lesson. To her surprise, the sweet woman agreed, and in no time they had planned to meet on Ossus.

The excited half-Sephi dashed back to her room to pack her bag, then double-checked everything. Medical kit, check. An extra poncho for warmth, check. Datapad, commlink and holopad, check. Training lightsaber, check. A nice sandwich and a bottle of water, obviously check! With her bag packed, she took one last look in the mirror and adjusted her clothes. Even though she preferred her usual attire, traditional Jedi robes, comfortable white leggings, and calve high sturdy leather boots seemed more appropriate for a history lesson.

After everything was ready, she walked over to the shuttle, boarded it, and faded away into one of her many colorful daydreams. There was a lot to think about, so many different directions this lesson could take her. What would Ossus look like? Would Ephiny like her?

Clove blinked her eyes open as she noticed the ship was landing. That was the advantage of daydreaming; ship rides flew by and there was never a dull moment when you had holomovies playing in your head. She jumped out of her seat, only to be yanked back by the straps around her waist. Whoops. With a a sheepish smile on her face she unbuckled herself, swung her leather bag over her shoulder, and dashed down the ramp. The surface of Ossus greeted her, and what she saw was not what she had imagined. Quite the opposite, in fact. Ossus was a lush, bright planet in her mind. Not... a sand tomb? But there was no point in questioning it, surely Ephiny would tell her more about it!

And honestly, the planet was still stunning in its own way. The sand had a lovely bright color! It reminded her of caramel candy.

With her excitement still firmly in place and her eyes big and bright, she began to hike towards their meeting location; a small ruined structure near the south of the landing platform.

"Hello?! I'm here!" She called out with a bright and bubbly tone.

Ephiny was surprised when Padawan Clove Vanhoop approached her asking for History classes. She quickly agreed, no one had ever asked the Archivist to teach them. She usually offered help and some information, but after a while people would get bored and leave. So the Knight became ecstatic with the possibility of being a teacher. After all, what good was she having so much knowledge if she never had the opportunity to share it with others?

When Clove approached her in the temple of Yavin IV, with her face red and asking for a lesson, even if the knight wanted to she would not have the will to say no. The half-Sephi was adorable! The way that she acted and talked reminded Ephiny so much of her younger sister, Lena. It made her think of her family, it had been so long since she had seen them. Even though she was now very happy being a Jedi, she missed them.

After she agreed to give some classes to the Padawan, Ephiny decided to start with a field trip to a planet, which history was in some way connected to the Jedi Order. Between Tython and Ossus, the Archivist opted for the latter. Mainly because the planet was recently the scene of a battle, in which a Sith Lord was captured. In her opinion this was a great achievement that deserved to be in the Archives.

The two had decided to go to the planet separately. After getting everything needed for the field trip, Ephiny boarded a transport and traveled from Yavin IV to Ossus. When she arrived on the planet, the Archivist soon realized that she had been the first. Deciding to wait for Clove at the meeting location, the Knight started to hike toward it. While she walked, the Jedi constantly stopped to take pictures of the landscape with her Datapad.

When she reached the meeting place, the remains of a structure from the time of the Clone War, Ephiny seated in a rock to wait for the Padawan. While she waited, the Archivist started to work on her Datapad in a little project. Perhaps at the end of this trip, she could show it to Clove and ask her opinion.

She was interrupted by the arrival of the half-Sephi. Ephiny got up from where she was seated and smiled at the Padawan. She really reminded the older Jedi of her young sister. “Hello, Clove! Welcome to Ossus! Are you prepared for our field class?” the Archivist said, while approaching the girl. “I asked to meet there because it was the most recent ruin associated with the Jedi Order. Tell me, do you know about the Ossus conspiracy?

Clove was sold when the Archivist smiled and walked in her direction. Something about the woman screamed she was in her element, and it made her feel warm and gentle, like a proper teacher eager to teach a small group of children about the value of life. And Clove was ready to feel like one of those students.

"Master Daivand, thank you so much! I'm all ready and very thrilled to see what you have planned for us!" Clove's large eyes danced through the nearby ruins as Ephiny started the lesson and pointed out their location. Woah! These are ruins associated with the Jedi order? There's an Ossus conspiracy?! The Force was awfully kind today. Perhaps history isn't as useless as she thought. Or perhaps it was the Jedi Knight's enthusiasm to teach that had her bouncing happily on the balls of her feet. It didn't matter though, she was excited.

"I've never heard of the Ossus conspiracy before. However, it sounds interesting. Is it connected to the most recent attack on Ossus? I'm sure there will be a bunch of new conspiracies related to that!"

The half-Sephi's gaze returned back to the Archivist. She was clearly ready to hear more.

Clove's excitement made Ephiny's smile grow. It was so good to meet someone that was so eager to learn. Few Padawans and even Knights that she knew were interested in what she could teach. Sometimes they would even call her as a know it all. "It's a pleasure to teach you, Padawan! I love passing on my knowledge to others."

"No. The Ossus conspiracy is far more old. However, it also had the participation of a Sith." Ephiny said, answering Clove's question. " The conspiracy happened early during the Clone Wars. According to it, the Sith Lord Count Dooku established a CIS base to search for lost Jedi artifacts in Ossus. Two years later, the base was discovered and the Jedi Order sent an elite contingent of ARC troopers to investigate. The unit infiltrated the base and recovered numerous artifacts before calling in an airstrike. For many years this was considered a hoax." Ephiny made a pause, watching the half-Sephi reaction. Like the girl, the Archivist was also excited, she loved history. Then she turned to the ruined structure "However, some years ago this place was discovered. After it was analyzed, the archaeologists came to the conclusion that it is the remains of a CIS building. They also discovered that it was used to store something important. This made most of the academic community see the Ossus conspiracy as a fact." she looked at the ruins with admiration, a part of history was in front of her. "Can you imagine how many historical artifacts were stored at this place? Saddly they were lost when Palpatine sacked the temple on Coruscant. "

"What you said about the recent attack on this planet is true. The Sith are always plotting. They must be already making plans to free the Sith Lord that was captured. You need to be careful when dealing with them." the older Jedi said that with a serious tone. Ephiny never fought against a Sith, but she read everything that she could about them and met with people that indeed confronted these Dark siders. She remembers perfectly how Grandmaster Voran reacted when she thought that Laeonas was a Sith. This made the Archivist understand how dangerous they are.

"Now, follow me. We have much to see today." Ephiny’s excitement returned. She picked her bag and started to walk towards a trail that led to the top of a small hill nearby. "When we reach there, we will do a small exercise. But not fear, it'll only need the use of the imagination."

The ground beneath them suddenly felt harsher and rougher. These ruins, they used to be Sith's? To locate and store Jedi artifacts? Who knew what else they had done, what crimes they had committed in order to obtain those artifacts! The half-eyes Sephi's grew larger and filled with a mixture of surprise and shock.

"Why did they think it was a hoax in the first place? I'm assuming they lacked evidence, but is that enough to rule out the existence of an entire base? One that isn't too well hidden, for that matter." She gestured to the ruins. The base was not as well covered as, say, an underground bunker. "It makes me wonder how many hoaxes are actually real, and we won't know for so many years. I'm sure it must be a bit frustrating for archivists like you?"

"I'll be careful with Sith. I promise. Let's hope the Sith Lord remains captured for a very long time!" In truth, she had never met a Sith before. She'd seen pictures of them and heard stories about them, but the Force had spared her an encounter with the Darksiders. Maybe it was for the best because who knew what they were going to do to her.

She returned her attention to the Jedi Knight, not wanting to dwell on something as grim as meeting a Sith, especially since today was full of excitement and new things to learn.

"Oh, yay! Using one's imagination sounds like fun!" Clove's voice bubbled a bit more than usual as she adjusted the strap of her leather bag and followed the Archivist up the trail. She tried to stay as close to the Jedi Knight as possible, without stepping into her private bubble of course, while also taking in the scenic beauty as they made their way towards the small hill.

Ephiny smiled at the several questions made by Clove. While some would be annoyed at having to deal with so many, the Archivist was happy. After all, she was known to drown others with her questions. Seeing the padawan act this way, reminded the woman of herself as a young girl, always curious. “They believed that it was a hoax because the original source of the information was the testimony of an old clone trooper. When Palpatine established the Galactic Empire, the Jedi Temple on Coruscant was sacked. All the artifacts that were rescued from this place were lost during it. The archives of the operation that happened there were also lost.” she made a pause, thinking about how much historical information was lost forever during Sidious’s rule.

For years these ruins were ignored, being considered a small post of the Old Republic. However, recently a small team of archaeologists decided to study it. Soon they discovered that rather than being built by the Republic, it was made by the Confederacy.” she remembered the article that talked about this discovery, how something that had been ignored for so long, revealed important things.

When the Padawan asked if she felt frustrated by this type of situation, the Jedi shook her head “It isn’t frustrating. After all, it is the work of an Archivist to seek knowledge, this way separating fact from fiction.” then she turned to the ruined building “This case only shows that we still have much to study and that sometimes the answers can be in front of us.” she smiled at the Padawan. “Come, we still need to reach the top of the hill.” then she continue to walk toward the trail.

After some minutes walking , the two finally reached the top of the hill. From there they could see a great desert plain. “Recently, through paleontological and archaeological studies, it was discovered that Ossus was a planet with lots of water and with a fauna and flora abundance.” Ephiny said, her eyes never leaving the landscape in front of them. “They discovered that this desert plain, now barren, was once the place of a lake and it is possible that a forest existed around it. So I want you to close your eyes and imagine this place when the Jedi Order still had a temple here.

Clove paid close attention to the Archivist as she eagerly began to answer her questions. While it all made sense, she couldn't help but be taken aback; the fact that no one had bothered to check the ruins until recently absolutely flabbergasted her. Her entire demeanor and expression reflected these thoughts, as her mouth was practically hanging open. What other mysteries were buried away, forgotten by the galaxy? And were they as easily solved as this hoax?

Nonetheless, her questions were answered, and she smiled gratefully at the Archivist. They had plenty of other things to do, so she put any further questions aside for the time being and concentrated on the uphill walk.

Given where they had begun their journey, the vast desert plain should not have surprised her. But it did. She wasn't expecting to see nothing but sand, sand, and more sand.

"It's incredible to believe there was once so much life here. It appears to be... lifeless. I can see tiny insects crawling through the sand, so I know there is life! But it's so empty."

The half-Sephi shook her head and followed the archivist's instructions. Her eyes closed, leaving nothing but darkness behind. Thankfully Clove was no stranger to imagining something and this task fit her like a glove, because the darkness faded into a bright painting in a matter of seconds. A large lush lake stood in the center, with lovely patches of green grass and other vegetation leading to a proud tall forest standing behind the body of water. Small dragonflies danced over the surface of the lake, flying towards one of the many flowers near the shore. "It must have been breathtaking." Clove murmured quietly, mesmerized by the image.

As Clove closed her eyes, she couldn’t see that Ephiny had done the same. When she studied about history, the Archivist loved to imagine herself witnessing these events. In her opinion doing it always helped her studying and she could understand the facts more clearly.

The Knight smiled after hearing the Padawan comment. “Yes, it was. Ossus was a beautiful planet, and the Jedi chose it to build their temple. Some scholars believe that it could have been the first Jedi temple that ever existed. It housed the largest repository of knowledge about the Order that ever existed, the Great Jedi Library!” she said, her eyes still closed. Ephiny could imagine herself walking through the corridors of the library. The shelves being full of books, tomes and holocrons.

For centuries, the planet was a cultural center of the Order and made a pilgrimage site for the Jedi. But then…” she paused abruptly, her eyes opening. In front of her, the beautiful lake and forests of the past were replaced by the arid plain of the present. This was the part of the history of Ossus that she disliked the most, it’s destruction. “But then, according to the Qel-Droma Epics, all of that was decimated during the Cron Supernova, which was caused by a Sith Lord. The Jedi managed to save only a fraction of the artifacts housed there, which were moved to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. However, even that was lost when Palpatine became Emperor.” Clove would be able to sense Ephiny sadness. For the Archivist the loss of knowledge and culture was always painful.

After some time contemplating the desert, Ephiny turned to the padawan. Her sadness had already dissipated, with her finding peace in the Force. “Tell me Clove, what would you like to do if you had been a Padawan in the Temple of Ossus? As you can imagine, I would have spent almost every day in the Great Library.” she said, smiling at the girl.

"The first Jedi temple..." Her voice trailed off, her tone revealing awe at the idea of the galaxy's first Jedi Temple and great Jedi Library existing on this planet. Her imagination, like Ephiny's, led her to the great Temple of Ossus and the library it housed. She imagined it to be light and grand, with a lot of nature intertwined everywhere you looked. Large marble pillars carved with fine and elegant details. And no matter where you looked, lots and lots of sunlight. The library was no exception, with bookshelves neatly arranged between each row of pillars.

If it hadn't been for the sudden pang of sadness she felt next to her, she would've vanished into her imagination and not returned for an hour or two.

The half-Sephi opened one eye and looked at the Archivist, recalling the events that had led to Ossus' demise. A Cron Supernova. Ephiny's tone carried a sense of pain that even Clove, who was just warming up to the idea of adoring history, could feel.

Clove moved in closer and wrapped her small arm around the Archivist's back. She wasn't sure if the woman liked hugs, but it felt wrong to leave her standing.

After a hand full of seconds of holding her in a comforting side-embrace, she dropped her arm and closed her own eyes again. She remained by her side until Ephiny was ready and found peace in the Force.

"Oh! Hmmm. The Great Library is a great place to visit." She blinked her eyes open again, a slight frown on her face and a nod of her head in thought. "I believe it is the gardens for me. Or the medical bay, but I'm not sure how the medical bay of such an old temple would have looked. Certainly not as modern as ours today! Still. The amount of knowledge contained within must have been incredible."

Talking about losses always made Ephiny sad, whether it's of lives or of historical objects. She thought this could be due to her grandfather's death, which affected her a lot when she was a child. However, the hug Clove gave to the Knight made her sadness dissipate. This reminded Ephiny so much of her sister. When they were children, Lena would also hug the Archivist when she was sad.

Thank you.” she said to Clove, then returned the hug by wrapping her arm around the Padawan. Ephiny started to calm herself, finding peace in the Force. “I’m sorry about that. I always become sad when I talk about historical losses. Is painful to think how much knowledge no longer exists."

After Clove dropped her arm and ended their hug, Ephiny listened to the half-Sephi talk about what she would like to do if she was a padawan in the temple of Ossus. "The gardens would have been a perfect place to meditate or to read. You are right, the medical bay was very different from the ones that we have today. However, from what we know from the historical records, it is possible to say that it was considered modern for the period. Throughout its entire history, the Jedi Order tried to leave the medical bay of their temples with the best equipment." she said, smiling at the girl.

"Did you know that in the past some Jedi Temples located near poor settlements used to offer free health care? They even used Force healing." Ephiny had some interest in it. When she was a Padawan, the Archivist spent some time at the medical bay, learning how to heal. "Do you know how to Force heal?"

"Please don't be sorry for being sad." Clove replied quickly while shaking her head with even larger eyes. "It's very tragic we've lost so much history, so much knowledge. It's so much meaningless destruction... How can anybody not feel sad about it?"

Clove wasn't used to a Jedi showing their options so openly, but it felt oddly comforting. They were free to be themselves without shame or judgment, as if it was an unspoken agreement between them. Thankfully, the Archivist was touched by the hug and replied by returning the hug.

She hadn't gotten a proper hug in so long, it was almost painful to lower her arm to focus back on the lesson.

Fortunately Ephiny refocused as well, because the next part of the lesson enticed Clove like a child seeing Naboo chocolate on Life day. It touched her right in the heart and ignited her passions like a burning fire. History was interesting already, but history AND medical bays combined?!

"Wow... I can't even begin to imagine that. Gosh that's so cool! I wish we had the ability to peek into the past and just see how it must've looked like! The idea of having such beautiful old temples combined with relatively modern technology is just." She paused, before giggling excitedly. "It's awesome."

The Archivist then spoke the magical words, which catapulted her excitement to Adega prime and back again.

With her eyes blazing with wonder, the half-arms Sephi's flew expressively in the air as she dived right into a rambling. "Wait, the Jedi temples used to offer free health care? Master Daivand, why did they stop offering free health care?! We should pick that back up again! It'd help all of those innocent civilians. It'd allow for people with no money to find us if they are wounded. It's not like Force Healing costs us any money, and we aren't abusing the Force because the people genuinely need our help. On top of that, it'd also help the Jedi look a bit better. Of course, that's not the most important reason, but the Jedi order could use some positivity surrounding their name." She paused and brought her hands to her chest, her fingers knitting together. "I'd like to do that when I get older. Set up a hospital, either in the Jedi Temple or elsewhere, and offer free healthcare. That's it. That's my goal!"

Her rant came to an end, and she smiled sheepishly as she realized she had almost smacked Ephiny twice with how uncontrollably her arms were flailing around. "Sorry."

"No, I'm afraid not. I've given Force Heal an attempt but... I had no clue what to do. Do you?!"

Ephiny smiled at Clove’s reaction to what she had said, her excitement was so contagious! The few times the archivist had given small lessons to others, none of them had reacted the way the half-sephi had. "The Jedi Order always recognized the importance of modern technologies. Over time, the libraries were also being updated. The library at the temple of Coruscant was one of the first in the Galaxy to adopt the holobook system."

The Padawan's excitement seemed to have grown even more after hearing the woman say that the Jedi Order used to give free health care. "The Order continued to offer this help until some decades before the Clone Wars. It was far more common during the time of the High Republic. With the exploration of the Outer Rim, the help offered by the Jedi was important for the success of the colonization efforts."

Clove's idea about restoring the custom of providing free medical care was very good. Even though the Order shouldn't be concerned about what others thought of it, helping the population this way was a very good idea. After all, it was the role of the Jedi to offer help to those who needed it. "I think that it's a wonderful idea! When we return to Yavin IV, we could talk with the Council and try to convince them to return with this practice. What do you think?"

"Yes, I know how to use Force healing. During my time as a Padawan, I spent some time at the medical bay of the temple learning about it." she explained to the Padawan. Seeing how Clove seemed interested in the medical history of the Order, the Archivist had an idea. "Clove, would you like to learn how to do Force healing? I could teach you."

The more time Ephiny and Clove spent together during this lesson, the more Clove liked the Archivist. She was a joy to be around. And Ephiny truly taught her some genuinely interesting things, such as the first implementation of the holobooks on Coruscant, making the Jedi one of the first people to actually use the holobooks. A system that is now used by almost everyone.

"The council! Yes! We should ask them! You are a genius Master Daivand! I've never seen the council before, outside of Master Alex. But I'm sure we can convince them!"

Then Ephiny got even better. She offered a healing lesson! And on top of that, she was also interested in the medical bay, or had been for a while. This explains why the Archivist was aware of the older medical bays. The half-Sephi became curious as to why she stayed in the library rather than becoming a Jedi Healer, but she decided that was a question for another day.

"I'd love that, Master Daivand. I know a fair bit about the practical stuff, but just not the Force side of it all! Help with that would be... I'd be forever grateful!" She paused, "Only if you are sure it's no problem, we are on a history lesson after all!"

”Oh, no. I’m not a genius, Clove!” Ephiny said to the Padawan, her face a bit red. It wasn’t common for people to praise her. “If anyone is a genius here, it's you. Your idea of wanting to return with this practice is very good. I just told you the way that we can make this come true.” she smiled at the half-Sephi. During the time they were together, the Knight had realized that the girl was a very kind person. Her idea for helping others showed that she was also altruistic.

Ephiny became happy when Clove accepted her offer. This small field trip made the Knight realize that she really enjoyed teaching others. “It’s no problem at all! I would love to teach you how to use Force healing.” then she looked around, the two still were at the top of the small hill. It wasn’t a good place to teach it to the girl.

Clove, let’s return to the ruined structure from early. There we can start a class about Force healing.” she said to the Padawan. When they started to walk through the trail that they used to climb the hill, Ephiny had an idea. “While we walk there, I think that we can still talk about history. What do you think?” if the half-Sephi agreed, she would ask her a question. “Do you know the Sacred Jedi texts?

"You should give yourself more credit!" Clove wanted to push the compliment beyond that, but the flush on the archivist's cheeks made her realize she should stop. She didn't want to embarrass her after all. So, instead of firing more praises, she just smiled warmly towards the woman and left it at that.

"Thank you, so incredibly much!" The half-Sephi tried her hardest to keep her excitement in check because the last thing Ephiny needed was a blue eye from Clove's flailing arms, but her flickering ears, like her eyes, gave her away. She would finally know how to use Force Heal! Something she wanted to know ever since joining the Jedi Order.

"Sure, that sounds good!"

With an excited skip in her walk, Clove followed the Archivist down the trail. "Oh! Yes! I'd like that, if you don't mind." she replied back.

"Hmmm. I've heard of them before. I remember something about a fire?" It must've been one of the lessons in the temple where Clove fell into one of her many daydreams. She never means to do it, but it was so difficult to control! And it was even more difficult for her to get out of a daydream once she was in one.

The Sacred Jedi texts were a collection of eight bound books and scrolls dating back to the dawn of the Jedi Order. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker found them at the Jedi Temple on the planet of Ahch-To. Some scholars think that this temple could be first built by the Order, rather than the one that existed here in Ossus.” Ephiny said to Clove, while the two walked through the trail. There was still some time until they reached the ruiitned structure. She would make the most of this time to continue giving historical information to the Padawan, after all that was why they came to this planet in the first place.

Some of the works that were among the Sacred Jedi texts were the Aionomica, Chronicles of Brus-bu, Rammahgon, and the Poetics of a Jedi. After the fall of the First Order they were essential for the restoration of the Jedi Order.” the Archivist would continue to tell the Padawan curiosities about each of these works. Then, the two would finally reach the ruins.

Looking around for a suitable place for the training, Ephiny would notice a space where the two could sit on the ground. It was covered by the shade of what once was a wall, this way they would be protected from the sun during the class. “Come, I found a place where we can sit.” the knight said, pointing toward it. Then she walked there and sat, with her legs crossed as if she was going to meditate. The Archivist would wait for the Padawan, instructing the girl to sit in front of her.

Clove paid close attention to the Archivist, and while she had to keep her eyes on the trail ahead of them, she couldn't help but glance at her every now and then, just to see how excited she was about the subject. It was always endearing to see someone so engrossed in their passion.

"I've never heard of those works before. It's crazy to think the Ahch-To temple might be even older though. Is there any way to figure out which one came first? Also, are the bound books and scrolls still around? And is it possible to find them or read a copy of them? I'd like to give them a read once we get back home!" The half-Sephi responded with eagerness. She wasn't the type to go and read most holobooks, let alone bound books. But if these were the Jedi's foundations, they sounded important enough to try.

Just after their brief history lesson, the Archivist directed them to a lovely spot in the shade, which was very welcome after their small hike in the sun.

"That looks like a lovely spot." She said back with a warm smile.

Clove sat down in front of Ephiny, just as instructed, with her legs crossed and her hands resting on her legs. She was mostly imitating the Jedi Knight because she clearly knew what she was doing, but it was also a very comfortable position to be in.

There are still many doubts among the scholars about which planet the first Jedi temple was built on. In addition to Ossus and Ahch-To, other candidates are Coruscant, Tython and Jedha.” Ephiny said to Clove. Then she had an idea “Maybe in our next field trip, we could visit the Jedi Temple of Tython. What do you think?” the Archivist really liked the history of the Jedi Order. It’s origin was still shrouded by mystery, with new information still being discovered. The Knight would be very happy to share what she knows with the Padawan.

When Clove asked the Knight about the Sacred Jedi Texts, Ephiny’s demeanor became somber “The originals remained in the Archives of the Jedi Temple of Ajan Kloss, until the Sith attack. Since saving people's lives is much more important, much of the works in the Archives ended up being left behind during the evacuation.” then the Archivist smiled at the half-Sephi, she wasn’t sad anymore “However, the knowledge that they had was saved. The Order made copies of them on holobooks. You can ask about them in the Library when we return, although some are very complex.

While the Padawan sat in front of her, Ephiny thought about how she could start this lesson. Since there wasn’t someone hurt there for her to show the more complex part of Force healing, the Knight decided to start with the theory “Well, Clove, Force healing is the ability that allows us to accelerate the natural healing process and could be used to heal even the most fatal of wounds. For it to work, we need to focus and envision the wound healing in our mind.

Since it is your first time doing it and we aren’t in a medical bay, I’ll start teaching you the theoretical part of it. The Jedi Healer that teached me, used to say that Force healing came in three steps. First, you need to gather the Force around you. Second, you need to focus the Force on the injury, it can be yours or of another person. Third, you visualize it being healed.” Ephiny repeated what she had learned when she was still a Padawan. The Jedi who taught her was very attentive and solicitous, her teaching methods were also very efficient.

Let's start with step one. For this you must gather the Force around your body. Close your eyes and concentrate. Meditation techniques can also help with this process.” Ephiny finished the explanation and waited for Clove to make an attempt. She had an encouraging smile on her lips.

"Coruscant, Tython and Jedha." Clove repeated after the Archivist, letting it all sink in. Because that's a lot of locations. So many mysterious. "Oh! Going to Tython's Jedi temple sounds like a wonderful idea, I'd like that!" Her bright smile returned, and excitedly she fiddled with some curls hanging loose next to her face. Tython was a beautiful planet and she had always wanted to see it, especially with the Archivist. Because she turned this field trip into one to never forget.

Then the Force Healing lesson started, and Clove was glued to every word the Knight spoke. Thankfully the envisioning of a wound closing sounded pretty easy, as far as imagination goes. It also made sense to start with the theoretical part of it all, they weren't exactly in the right place to heal wounds.

Gather the Force, guide the Force to the wound, visualize it being healed. Sounded straight forwards.

"All right!" exclaimed the half-Sephi, before closing her eyes. She thankfully knew how to meditate and call upon the Force, and while she wasn't particularly skilled at it, it became easier the more she practiced. just like with any other meditation, she imagined her thoughts as black smoke escaping through her nose, and the quietness and warmth of the Force as a wave of blossom leaves entering her mind through her lips. This she repeated several times until her mind was truly quiet, with nothing but a focus on the Force remaining.

She focused her attention on the Force and began to gather it. Allowing it to build up and grow stronger in her arms and hand, and all the way down to the tip of her fingers.

"I'm ready." She said in a whisper, to avoid breaking her concentration.

Ephiny watched Clove close her eyes and start to concentrate. She could feel through the Force that the Padawan was starting to relax. While the Archivist waited for the half-Sephi to gather the Force, she annalized the girl.

She was really a kind teenager. The Knight thought that Clove was like a fusion of herself and her sister Lena. She was curious and wanted to learn, like herself, while at the same time she was energetic, like her sister. The Archivist was loving being able to teach her. In Ephiny's opinion, this trip was better than she expected, all of this due to Clove being a very kind girl.

Her musings were interrupted by the Half-Sephi whispering that she was ready. Even with Clove still having her eyes closed, Ephiny would nod her head in approval. "Very good, Padawan. Now that you gathered the Force, you should touch and focus it in the place where the injury is. But since we aren’t in a Medical bay this will not be possible." she said to the girl, her voice was calm and comforting. The Archivist didn't want to break her concentration.

"However, you can still use the Force that you gathered. Your body is probably tired due to having to climb a hill. So, now I want you to focus it on the muscles that are tired from the effort. Then you visualize as if they were no longer this way." Ephiny explained to the Padawan. It was the most basic version of Force healing, using it to relieve the fatigue of the body. But it followed the same principle of more complex healing techniques. The Archivist hoped that when they returned to the Temple, she was going to be able to teach the girl the proper healing.
