THEME

With some leg work, some connections and general lax outsourcing of smugglers Malakai had an easier time finding a target for his agenda. He needed a different ship. Something with a lot more hauling capability than his scout ship. It was technically still a light freighter and had its uses but for carrying literal tons of goods there were better designs out there.

Sitting in a bar on Formos he waited until his companion joined him. The Mandalorian, Arden Kryze, was due to arrive at any point. How do they pee with all that armor on? He couldn't remember if their pants had zippers or just a codpiece. Shrugging to himself he took some more bites of the cheap but hardy cantina food.

The planet was full of undesirables moreso than other planets in the outer rim that were all vying for the spice trade. It was not hard to find someone trying to one up the other and it was a fairly open secret what went on. But today would mostly be information gathering. "Maybe something better will happen." In one hand he held an unlit cigara, wondering if he should get a buzz going while he waited for his cohort.

Either Arden was really proving himself to be worth his money, or the Grysk had taken a liking to him. Either way, Arden was both surprised and flattered when he saw yet another job offer appearing on his datapad. And this time it wasn't a last-minute request that caused him to literally drop into a firefight. He could actually dress up in his usual armour for this job.

His gunboat touched down on a landing pad close to a local bar Kai said he was waiting at. He locked his ship up and left his droid to man it while he went looking for his employer. After making sure he had all his gear with him, he set out into the unfamiliar planet. The cantina was only a short walk away so at least he didn't have to go traipsing all over. After a minute or two he arrived at the cantina and opened the sliding door. Some patrons glanced at him but didn't pay him any mind. Though he could still feel a few eyes on his as he entered, looking around for the freakazoid.

He quickly spotted Kai and made his way over towards him after ordering a beer with a straw from the counter. "Top of the mornin' to ya." he spoke up as he placed his rifle upright on the seat and slid into the booth across from Kai. His beer arrived a few moments later and he helped himself to a large sip. Sighing with content and sitting back he looked straight at Kai. "Cheerful meetin' place. Can't say I've ever been here before. So wha' are we goin' after?" he asked him casually before taking another long sip of the golden drink.

"You gonna ligh' that thing?" he asked him, nodding at the cigara in the Grysk's hand.

What ill luck, to have a minor diagnostic problem with one's ship in an unsavory place like this planet. Still, such things couldn't be helped, and while he knew he was being gouged on the price for repair, he didn't have much choice. To wait, Jacob entered the Cantina wearing his field clothing, which made him look somewhat like he belonged there with its sturdier and rougher look. He sighed as he looked around at the patrons of this place, just as expected, and resigned himself to sit at an empty table where two men seemed to be just starting to talk about some kind of business.

The whole situation had made Jacob annoyed, so he spoke without even thinking about it. He had a short fuse for irritations, especially when it kept him from his research or work. "You might want to be careful about lighting that. I read a log of someone starting a fire in a...place like this, before, and the place went up before anyone could even blink. Almost as bad as tossing a Thermal Detonator right under your chair." It was only then that he noticed just how...intimidating, the two looked. His mouth was going to get him in trouble one of these days. "Sorry, bad day. You two didn't deserve that. Can I get you both a drink to apologize?" He hated apologizing, but in this case it was the best way to not start a fight he wasn't willing to participate in.

Xath walked into the bar wearing his Sith Robes; place like Formos? Worst case scenario, he'd have to force choke some low-lifes who had the guts to try and take his saber. No, they'd be far more concerned with the spice...the good stuff.

He stopped in his tracks as he spotted Arden at a table with some intimidating-looking character, speaking to another man. He didn't necessarily like the Mandalorian, and Arden certainly didn't seem to like him...so why was he with someone so...creepy? Awe-inspiring? He shrugged and walked towards them.

"Arden, can't exactly say it's nice to see you again but it sure is a small Outer Rim, eh?" He turned to Arden's companions.
"Might I inquire as to who you two are? Must be tasteful fellows for a guy like Arden to hang with..."

"What's the hastle man?" The holobroadcast switch to a song but then made a record scratch sound as the bartender smacked it like it was acting up. The Mandalorian was served his beverage and Kai looked around to see who was close since Arden was straight to business. He didn't mind it, but he just wanted to not be a total fried mynock and gab too easily. His senses reached out on one of the rare occasions. Normally the Grysk shrouded his force sensitivity which made it hard to sense the feelings of others as a drawback. But when he wasn't hiding his capabilities he could be more open with the reality around him.

Malakai opened his mouth but stopped as he heard an almost boisterous tone without forewarning. The morbid looking Grysk turned to look at the new arrival. "I'm willing to burn for it. So I think whatever fire whiskey they might have will do." He said in a daring tone and ignited the liter to light his cigara finally. Kark darling, dying in a rolling whirlwind of flames. A feminine noise followed the siren like voice in own mind before continuing. If the Grysk could blush he would have as much as he would have tried otherwise. ...that'd be hot An audible chuckle came from Kai as he drank some more to quiet Tanarra's haunting voice. He also thought it was hilarious the look the spectacle looking stranger had on him. It's the little things.

Opening his mouth again, history repeated itself and once again someone interrupted Malakai. His fist dropped down onto the table a little more heavily than necessary. The skullish face stared straight ahead Really? Is there going to be a nun or something behind this guy?

"You'd know all about how fellows taste wouldn't you friend?"
He answered the man hoping he got what he was inferring and maybe part of him also wanted to get offended by it. Kai couldn't contain a little chuckle at his own jest as he turned his head to look directly towards the man to see how he would react. A mischievous smile spread across the macabre dark sider's face.

As if privacy just became an unknown term in the galaxy, their table was set upon. First by a random guy warning Kai about lighting his cigara with an accompanying story, then by the one person in the galaxy he really wasn't in the mood for. He sat dead quiet, listening to whatever everyone had to say while sneakily drawing his left pistol from its holster under the table.

Naturally Xath had some supposedly clever thing to say which earned a rather amusing remark from Kai, making Arden chuckle lightly. "Can't say no to a free drink, now can I? Feel free to top this up." he said to the stranger before finishing off his beer. Next was the gnat that somehow ended up in the same cantina on the same backwater at the same time as him. "Too small, I'm afraid." he quipped before looking at Kai. "Given the company he had with him on Ta'ooine, I think it's safe to say he's an exper' on things like that." he said, looking up at the Sith with a bored expression hidden behind his T-visor.

He kept his pistol at the ready below the table, now more out of a desire to drop the Sith than out of security. "Now are you gonna keep botherin' us, or are you gonna kark off?" he asked him, pointing his pistol quite conveniently at Xath's groin. And at point blank range, odds of missing were quite slim.

Jacob could tell that the other man, obviously a Sith as well, annoyed the two that he himself had rudely interrupted just moments ago. However, they had accepted his offer for a drink, so he went over to the bar to get their orders. One full beer for the Mandalorian and the best Fire Whiskey for the skeletal man. Something about him seemed familiar...He couldn't quite place it, though. After a few moments of waiting, the scholar flipped the bartender the needed credits, with appropriate tip, and he returned to the table to put the chosen drinks in front of their chosen imbibers.

"Here you go. Apologies, again. I hate it when my research and field work is interrupted, especially by inane mechanical problems with my ship, so I was more annoyed than I usually am. I'll leave you to your business while I try to find a way to recoup the lost revenue my stay here will incur." Just working on his own wouldn't pay the bills, even if he had no set home, so he took odd jobs utilizing his wide skill set when needed. It seemed like the two men were meeting for a reason, but unless they wanted to include him or offer a job, he wouldn't intrude. People didn't live long in places like these by just butting in. If they WERE looking for help, discretion might be a better trait for an impromptu interview.

Xath laughed. "Ah, that'd imply that I specifically know how this Mando tastes...can't say I'd ever stoop that low...Not to mention, the company I had on Tatooine was you." He shook his head. "As for me going to "kark" off, I haven't met your friend here, so I think I'll stay put for a while."

He was aware the Mando probably had a gun on him, and he didn't want to get shot. He grabbed his own pistol, setting it on the table in a friendly way...? ...hoping the Mando would realize it was pointed in his direction...

He watched as the...nerdy research guy bought the other two drinks. "Name's Xath." He stuck out his right hand towards the Mando's companion, keeping his other hand on his gun.

Arden liked to think that there was still common sense in the galaxy. Drawing on a Mandalorian who packed enough firepower to eviscerate someone in a few seconds didn't exactly fall into the category of common sense.

He didn't say anything to Xath or the others as he was focused on the Sith's actions. As soon as his hand touched his pistol and started to pull if from its holster, a deafening boom tore through the air as a bright yellow bolt flew out from under the table. The shot, if it landed, would tear through Xath's left upper leg just above the knee. The heavy bolt would do enough damage to sever his leg entirely. The shot would happen just as Xath was busy drawing his own pistol.

In case that wasn't enough, Arden's right hand was already drawing his other pistol for a follow-up shot if the Sith managed to somehow avoid a point-blank shot like that. He was also rising in case he needed to move.

Kai heard the increasingly aggrivated tone of the masked individual. He was familiar with how to infuriate and piss off people. The Grysk knew the signs and had been opening himself up to the slightest hints of hostility so it was no surprise when the nearby dark sider reached for a weapon. The hand of of the man snapped out and grabbed with a crushing grip, keeping Xath's weapon from even clearing its holster.

He knew Arden was likely to blast the man away. But all the same the Grysk did not like anybody threatening himself or his employees. With his free hand Kai drew his own blaster and brought it up to center on the man or anybody else that added themselves among those that posed a threat. In a seedy outer rim scum hole like this there were crafty people and there was a chance that the masked man who had endangered his very manhood, was actually not foolish enough to try something alone. Don't kill him. Watch him suffer Hun. teehee An evil feminine giggle echoed in his head and Kai realized he had a devilishly daring grin across his face. His heart was pounding in his ears. The adrenaline itself was a drug and he enjoyed getting it when it came.

All of this had happened while Jacob was getting their drinks. He wouldn't be so stupid as to try to insert himself in an obvious gunfight, even if it were one-sided. He held on to both the beer and fire whisky, any sudden moves or reaching across the table seeming like a very bad idea. He hadn't been unobservant of what had happened, though, as to do so in a place like this could spell one's death. Pulling a blaster on a Mandalorian that seemed irritated to see you, even if you knew them? The RIGHT move would not have involved silently trying to draw one's own weapon. Well, it wasn't his decision or choice, and the scholar didn't want to be a part of the escalating violence. Jacob sighed, shaking his head, and he stayed out of the fight for now. He'd just cause problems.

There was a laundry list of things Lilith needed to get done, so much it sometimes made her head spin. However, despite the tight agenda she'd put herself on, she decided to stop at a bar. She'd been reminded to enjoy her life sometimes, but this time she'd only have a single drink. No more, no less.

Her signature was smothered, her blonde hair was in a tight bun and she was wearing her scoundrel-looking outfit that she'd taken a liking to lately. It helped her blend in and it didn't look half as boring as most the things she usually wore. Her lightsabers and other misc weapons and equipment were hidden on her belt.

Entering the bar she couldn't help but sense something was off. Her eyes quickly snapped to a familiar face: Kai. Something was going on with him and a small group but Lilith decided to take a seat at the bar for now, away from the scene to simply observe.

As soon as the man touched Xath, he responded angrily, jerking backwards to prevent him from getting an iron hold. With his right hand, he went for his saber. Simultaneously, the Mandalorian fired. Xath had no time to respond, but the jerking of his body had moved his leg slightly out of the way. Nevertheless, the heavy bolt slammed into the side of his thigh. Grunting in a rage and channeling the pain and anger he felt, his hand finally made it to his saber, and he ignited it, holding it in front of him. He groaned as he leaned heavily on one leg, gasping as the pain spread through him. He stumbled a few steps backwards.

In the same amount of time, the other man had pulled a blaster...and the Mandalorian now had two blasters pulled. Without wasting any time, he pulled his second saber.

Xath felt the security of the blades boosting his confidence...what a backhanded, dirty attack... But in his condition, he was in no place to fight. He dragged himself not completely backwards, but sideways so as to put a jutting corner of a wall in between him and the table, both sabers up, ready to block any more bolts. As soon as he was out of there line of sight, he wildly scrambled out of the cantina and in the direction of his ship. He hadn't taken more than 10 steps when his leg gave out and he had to hop/drag himself with his arms. His leg was now useless; it had completely lost its function as a limb.

By some miracle the kid managed to keep his leg, though odds of it still being usable after today were slim to none. Arden was on his feet with both pistols trained on him as he drew his lightsabers. On top of that, Xath didn't do anything to stop the follow up shot Arden threw his way which would hit him on the exact same spot, this time completely blowing his leg off. At least Kai had his back and the stranger wasn't interfering which made his life easier.

Now completely missing a leg and most likely in quite a bit of pain and shock, Arden flipped the switches on his pistols to stun mode. "Sweet dreams." he said as he opened up, firing both pistols. He kept pulling the triggers, not stopping until the Sith was entirely incapacitated on the ground. In his state now, Xath had extremely little chance of being able to block such an onslaught.

(OOC: Autohit on Xath as he didn't do anything to stop Arden's follow up shot)

Kai rose from his seat with blaster in hand, still centered on Xath as the masked man pulled his lightsaber. But the second follow through shot from the Mandalorian's second pistol was a double-tap if the Grysk had ever seen. At the close range the injured Xath had not realized that the T visored man had weapons in spades. The first red lightsaber of the Marauder ignited between the trio but would go out and stop the second crimson blade from even being ignited. Should the stranger not be completely incapacitated due to the loss of a limb, Kai would add to the twin pistol fire of Arden and fire his own blaster pistol at Xath.

The sudden escalation of it all had the Grysk's heart pounding. Not only had a threat presented itself suddenly but now he had to deal with the fallout of a Sith in public. But here Kai was just another thug or ne'er do well with a Mandalorian partner. He had to keep his cover. So naturally someone in his position would try to cash in on a lightsaber wielder. At least few people would try to fight a Mandalorian for their prize.

If the masked Marauder was down for the count then Kai would turn his head to look at the dumbstruck Jacobious. Kai kept his blaster up and ready to point towards anybody else who wanted to intervene though more as an alert warning rather than aiming at anybody in particular. He wouldn't be surprised if he was not the only one. Just because one threat was incapacitated didn't mean more wouldn't present themselves. "I think I'll take that fire whiskey now."

As he waited for Jacobius to bring him the promise libation the undercover Marauder flicked his gaze towards the most recent arrival in the bar. She was familiar and for a good reason. Kai made eye contact with her to let her know he saw her and then glanced back towards Xath knowing that for the down and out dark sider, repercussions might not be over that swiftly.

It wasn't every day that one saw a person's leg get blown clean off. It seemed the Mandalorian REALLY hadn't liked that man, and drawing a lightsaber like that? In a bar on a planet like this, rife with gangsters from the Five Syndicates? That was an easy bounty for them to turn in, now, and the scholar was surprised that a queue hadn't already formed to try to get their chance at that easy money now that the man was legless and stunned. At least, he assumed the latter. He must have had a surprised look on his face, which the skeletal man seemed to notice as he asked for his drink. Snapping back, Jacob put a smile on his face as he served the man his drink, giving him full service as a friendly gesture after the sudden escalation in events.

"Of course, apologies for the delay. I didn't think it a good idea to...interfere." He poured the drink in a glass and put both glass and bottle in front of the man. Then, with as subtle control over the Force as he could manage, he used cryokinesis to chill the mug with the beer. That amount of violence would make anyone thirsty, and perhaps the Mandalorian would appreciate a cold beer after what had just happened. "And here you go. I'd heard this world had its moments of strife, but I didn't expect things to blow up so quickly." He did notice the young lady sit at the bar, as with the hostilities he was trying to take in any changes that he could to prevent himself from becoming the next target. He wouldn't bother her unless she asked for something, though, that was just impolite.

Lilith was NOT pleased seeing this scene unfold. A random Sith making trouble for Kai who was both a Sith and man with connections to the Black Sun. The Syndicate that the Sith desperately needed to ally with. Then he pulled a red lightsaber in public, which would tie the Sith to this whole thing. Lilith had decided to give herself completely over to the faction, only to see this idiocy within their ranks?

The cold, burning anger that was always in her flared. She could feel the Dark Side swirling violently through her veins and around her.

Giving into her rage she draw her DL-18 Blaster Pistol and fired two shots into the back of the Sith's (@DarkSaber) leg that hadn't been shot. The first bolt would land shortly after the first shot from Arden landed on the other leg. Because the man hadn't noticed or acknowledged Lilith in anyway, there was no reason for, at very least, her first shot not to land. If she was successful and both the man's legs were shot, there was no way he'd be able to go anywhere. In fact, he'd likely pass out from the pain.

Xath grunted as the follow up shot completely ripped off his leg. He gaped in shock; at that moment, a bolt from behind hit his other leg, and then another. He fell towards the floor in pain, his second leg most likely being knocked off its hinges as well.

However, as he dropped he lunged with his one saber at the Mandalorian under the table. It was with the last of his strength, channeling the pain he felt into his attack. The pain of getting shot had prevented him from igniting it, which he now did so. It was plenty strong enough to go the distance; His jab coming at a horizontal angle straight towards Arden's sitting, immobile waist with a slight downward swing as he fell foward.

The pain took over and his vision went black, his two remaining limbs going out of business. His attack failed as his lightsaber dropped to the ground, smoking on the floor as it singed Arden's chair. He'd fought hard for the Order--still, the Eternal would have a difficult time accepting such a defeat...

Note: While that AH was pretty cheesy, I'll take it. However, the stun shots are not AH's and I get to respond before they occur.

When Xath came down towards him, Arden instinctively jumped up, his jetpack carrying him briefly into the air and landing him a few steps back, out of Xath's range. His lightsaber did barely scorch his shin armour and he could feel the heat through his body glove, but would not damage his legs. It would be rather embarrassing to have a moment of instant karma after a moment like this.

The Sith passed out and Arden fired a stun bolt at him for good measure before walking up and standing over him, switching back to lethal rounds. He kept his barrel pointed at his head just in case he managed to stay conscious. But luckily his blasters did their job well. He raised his pistol and let it drop from his hand. He spun it by the trigger guard and slid it back into its holster in one sleek motion. Though he still kept his right pistol at the ready just in case.

The stranger offered him his beer and Arden brightened up immediately. "Mate, you jus' became my new best friend." he quipped before taking a long sip of the ice cold beer.

As he did, the other shooter finally caught his eye. He leaned forward slightly then recoiled in surprise. "Alais! Thought tha' was you!" he said happily. "Wha' a pleasant surprise to see you here. Sorry abou' the mess." he spoke in a happy tone as he was calming down. He looked back down at the unconscious sith and kneeled down to clip the lightsaber to his belt. He looked back to Kai. "Think we should cauterize him an' take him in? We can ge' a nice sum of creds off him if we do." he suggested before taking another long sip of the delicious, icy cold beer.

The masked dark sider gave one last attempt to injure the Mandalorian. It had been a quick back and forth of an engagment. As quickly as it had started it ended. The Grysk balled his open hand into a fist for a moment, concentrating on the action to steady himself and return to a calmer heartbeat. The same hand then outstretched to take the shot of fire whiskey. He threw it back and let out an exhaled breath as the burning sensation in his throat carried on to warm his chest and giving him a momentary flash of heat. It was just what he was looking for.

Kai had seen Lilith's actions and looked towards her, wondering if whatever alias she had chosen now had an angle that conflicted with his own. "A round on me!" He shouted, hoping to simultaneously ease tensions, disuade anybody from trying their luck against Arden's cash. "A mando without sabers on his belt is a travesty from what I hear." The Grysk smiled and jutted his chin in the direction of the weapons. Arden had been the one that had shot him really. But the body, that was another matter.

When Arden finished his beer though. He shouted Lilith's alias, ironically calleed Alais. Kai had only known her supposed real name until recently. It was possible even Lilith was another fake identity. But everybody hid their true selves and Malakai was no different. It was the smart thing to do.

The Mandalorian was overjoyed. Well, he's an enthusiastic one isn't he? Malakai walked closer to the unconscious body, lowering his blaster to his side. A foot moved to push and prod the injured figure as if to test if Xath was faking it. Kai looked up as Arden asked him what to do. "Nah...you got the sabers...let her take the body." His eyes rose to look toward Alais. After a moment he looked towards Jacobius again. "...hey um...you're sticking around right?" A skeletal finger pointed towards the man. The Grysk smiled as warmly as a ghoulish face like his could.
