DESCRIPTION​

The Ultra-Light Assault Vehicle, more commonly known as a ULAV, is a small combat repulsorcraft originally manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems. First appearing prior to the Clone Wars, it was the go-to small ground combat vehicle for many planetary defense militias for decades, and is still used by many governments and other organizations across much of the Galaxy.

The ULAV is a potent craft for its size and role, equipped with a pair of light blaster cannons in the nose, as well as a 6-shot grenade launcher and a medium blaster turret mounted to the rear of the vehicle, controlled in a similar fashion to the harpoon launcher on an Incom T-47 airspeeder by a rear-facing gunner. Fast and nimble, the ULAV is a decent surface attack craft, although it is only able to get about 0.6 meters off the ground, and is thus not ideal for rough terrain.

Although only considered suitable for light attack, harassment and reconnaissance duty in the present day, ULAVs are still retained in military inventory on many planets, and are also used by guerillas and even criminal gangs as well. Especially in the absence of more powerful combat vehicles or air support, they are somewhat more effective than a technical, being purpose-built rather than improvised.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. Though not the most powerful vehicle of their type in existence, ULAVs are purpose-built combat craft, and are thus generally restricted from civilian ownership on most civilized worlds.
