Species name: Urthragus

Biology: Urthragus's physique is humanoid in nature, but other than standing on two legs, that is the only similarity they share. Each individual has four eyes, two on each side, with heat pits above both sets. (I'll get to those later) They have a long, rounded head, resembling a football with the ends smushed in. They have only three fingers on each hand, and four claws on each foot for gripping. Most are colored a deep crimson, with the exceptionally rare purple pigmented fur. The fur is located on the chest and forearms, and the rest of their bodies show a pale flesh.

Abilities: Each heat pit allows the Urthragus to see a vauge thermal outline of anything in the proximity, similar to night vision, though it is blurry and unreliable at times.

Breeding: There are no more natural-born children, they are all simply grown in vats until maturity. The female Urthragus died out decades ago, forcing the remaining males to take a sample of what they viewed the "perfect specimen," and cloned him.

Strength: A fully rested one can leap about ten feet in any direction, digging its claws into soft ground or walls for an advantage in combat. They are also very tactical-minded, thinking up basic strategic moves on the fly, as well as adapting to most situations. They have an excellent sense of smell, for tracking.
Weaknesses: They all are exceptionally fragile, the fleshy spots unable to take much punishment before rupturing. Along with this, they have a poor sense of hearing and eyesight. Their immune system is weak as well, a common cold has been known to wipe out entire colonies.

Diet: Their diet mainly consists of food rations, though they are not below cannibalism. A lack of taste buds is the reason they can eat such horrid things.

Language: Between two Urthraguses, their speech mainly consists of roaring and clicks. This is both a move for serecy, along with being the language most lower-class drones know. The officers and commanders all can speak basic, as part of their genetic coding.

Behavior: All of them are overconfident in that their kind is the best, constantly boasting and bragging about how great they are and such. The officers are the ones who are more outspoken about this.

History: The Urthagus kind has always had one goal in mind, conquer. They have always been modifiying themselves to make them better in every way, and have such divided into three divisions. There is command, the research and development team, and the drones. The command's job is to command, make decisions, and things like that. The R&D group makes anything that will improve their endeavours, weapons, rations, and new breeds of trooper.

Technology: They are an advanced culture, with blasters and space capability. Each troop is equipped with anenergy scythe, as well as a wrist mounted blaster. Armor varies in thickness, depending on how high ranked the troop is. Some even have a shield, deflecting small arms fire with ease.

Homeworld: A nomadic race, they have no homeworld of their own, simply creating colonies on small planets in the outer rim. They haven't made many large ones, but they have a station in orbit around Hoth.

Military: There are several ranks in the drone force of the military, along with command. The stock trooper with no armor and little weapons is called a militia troop, and ones wth armor are armored militia. Troops with jetpacks are pack troops, and are known to kamikaze when shot down. The high command troops are where it gets interesting. The lowest ranking trooper is given projectile resistant armor, though weak to blaster fire. The step above gives the exact opposite in resistances. There are commandos, with heavy armor and an affinity for stealth, and there is the commander himself. He wears the thickest armor, and commands squad of commandos at all times. Along with this, there is the experimental berserker, a monstrous brute with no intelligence or mercy, smashing anything in its path, even comrades.

Intent: I created this species as a power-hungry military because of my inspiration. They are based off the Space Pirates from Metroid, with a few creative liberties. I felt that an independent group always seeking to conquer would be a unique and long-standing threat, though not always right up in the thick of things. They would slowly gain power over many years, until they attempt a coup. Normal missions to remote planets could become a fight for someone's life, with an Urthagus group hunting them down. And with each new and powerful being they either capture or kill, they could modify their next generation to be even more powerful. This doesn't mean that there can't be indie Urthagus, they would just have to have a valid reason to have left their people.

Thanks for taking your time to read this, and have a good day!

Hey, just reading about the head. What do you mean by smushed in? Wouldn't that just be an oval?

You're missing the Intent section. It's not optional. We need to know why you want to make this species.

Please be aware that the Intent section alone can be enough for me or @Clayton to ban the species outright. We're much stricter with species and planets than we are tech.

If you're going for piratical threat, couldn't any pirate threat suffice, not just Metroid kind?

Yes, but not on the scale I had in mind. They would be highly mobile and more organized than normal pirate factions, along with having a dedicated fleet and better tech.

But why do they need to be a fanon species? Why not a canon one or a diverse amount of canon species

I didn't think a group of species would all share the idea of eradicating everything else in existence, and I wasn't sure there was a species that had the gall to up and declare war on basically everything sentient. Unless I am wrong in the latter. As well, I figured the cloning would make for some interesting threads. There could be groups sent to destroy their facilities, a way for a dead troop to regain his old memories, possibly revolting against his kind.
