DESCRIPTION​

Before the droid world M4-78 was taken over by Blackwell Technologies, the droid world only had droid starfighters patrolling it's space. Under new management, Blackwell Technologies tasked the droid world with building capital ships. The UXC-5412 Pattern Cruiser is a newly designed model. Although the model is manufactured by the droid world itself, Blackwell Driveworks sells these ships under their umbrella.

The UXC-5412 is built for and operated entirely by droids and according to M4-78 design principles, to be robust and efficient in what it does. In addition to a heavy shield generator it also has tough durasteel armor. The heavy turbolasers can punch holes in enemy capital ships, while the lighter weapons can fend off starfighters and bombers decently enough especially when supported by other units.

As this vessel is operated entirely by droids, it's lacks life support needed for organics to survive. The integrated droid brains run things smoothly with a droid crew. Normally escape pods wouldn't be a concern with a vessel filled with expendable droids, but they can be used as drop pods, quickly fielding combat droids into a ground battle, and the cruiser can hold a lot of them.

The first of these vessels produced are under the employ of Blackwell, although future models were for sale on the open market for anyone looking to bolster their fleets. With M4-78's manufacturing base combined with more than ample amounts of droid labor with the world's plentiful amounts of resources, these vessels can be built relatively quickly and inexpensive to make, thus turn up a big profit.

However recently as part of a deal made by Blackwell CEO @Newton Arden and ISC Secretary of Defense @Carrick, these line of ships are sold exclusive to the ISC Navy. Blackwell Tech still utilizes some number of these ships for their own use however.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. UXC-5412 Pattern Crusiers are classified as droid capital ships under Galactic law, and are subject to numerous and strict laws regarding their capabilities and use. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. These ships are also owned exclusively by either the ISC or Blackwell Tech.

INTENT​

To expand on and highlight M4-78's technology, to create a droid cruiser capital ship, and for Blackwell's to expand their line of products in the aftermath of taking over M4-78.

RESTRICTIONS​

UXC-5412 Pattern Crusiers are droid capital ships, and cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. These vessels may be acquired as faction assets in the roleplay.
