Veer's Personal Armor

Designed and upgraded to fit Veer’s exact specifications, this set of armor was made to be worn to be worn during the course of the Axxilan’s career as a Bounty Hunter - fitted with several technological functions and overall prioritizing utility over aesthetic appeal. A valued piece of Veer’s arsenal, the armor additionally serves as the face of his ‘Viper’ alias as a Bounty Hunter - allowing him to work within the guild without ever revealing his true identity.

Dyed a striking crimson hue, Veer’s armor is comprised primarily of segmented, duraplast plates over a bodysuit of verpine fibermesh - providing coverage to his upper body and adequate protection against both blaster fire and kinetic damage. The entire body is fitted with a Scatterweave worn into the bodysuit - providing additional stealth to conduct covert operations. The most valuable pieces to the armor - the matching pair of phrix vambraces that cover his hands and forearms - serve as the only bits of lightsaber-resistant material. Veer’s armor notably lacks any protection to his legs, compromising on coverage for additional mobility.

Upgraded with modern technological functions, Veer’s armor is equipped with a Grapple-Line built into his right vambrace, alongside electromagnetic soles built into his boots.

Fully removable, the armor is complete with a fully-encased armorplast helmet. It is fitted with both a Vision HUD to provide vision in low-light and thermal environments, as well as a voice-scrambler to distort the wearer’s voice from recognition.

LEGALITY

Legal. Made entirely from legal armor and components. Wearing a fully-enclosed helmet may draw attention from authorities in some systems, however.

INTENT

To provide a write up for Veer's personal armor.

RESTRICTIONS

Yes. Built and designed by Veer, there are no known copies of the armor and it is not available for use by others.

TYPE AND COVERAGE

Type: Medium Armor

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)

  • Head: Armorplast helmet, front, and back of the head, down to the neck.
  • Torso: Duraplast armored chest.
  • Upper Arms: Duraplast armored shoulders and biceps.
  • Lower Arms: Phrix hands, wrists, forearms.

FUNCTIONS

Function 1: Scout HUD (Removeable with Helmet)
  • Scout HUD - Contains a 4x magnifier and Compass.
  • Force User Compatible?: Yes

Function 2: Voice Scrambler (Removeable with Helmet)
  • For the unusually paranoid, this helmet function can scramble a person's voice to unintelligible garbage, while allowing commlink conversations to continue as normal. Alternatively, it can be used to "digitize" a voice into a deep bass tone.
  • Force User Compatible?: Yes

Function 3: Scatterweave (Default; not removeable)
  • An incredibly rare and expensive material. Scatterweave is a coating that reflects very little light, making it extremely useful for sneaking at night. It also "scatters" the wearer's heat signature, making it difficult for automated sensor systems or thermal visors to get a precise fix on the wearer's location without intense scans.
  • Force User Compatible?: No

Function 4: Grapple Line (Right arm)
  • Grapple lines are capable of supporting the weight of 1-2 people and can launch up to ranges typically up to 15 meters away. Once no longer in use, they are detached from the launcher and left behind. While hand-held grapple guns are capable of auto-winching, armor or wrist mounted devices lack this ability. Grapple lines must be manually activated and controlled by a button or switch.
  • Force User Compatible?: No

Function 5: Mag Boots (Default; Not removable)
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
  • Force User Compatible?: No
