DESCRIPTION​

The VENT-L is a brand-new product on the market, specifically designed for long surgeries. This model can mimic coughing while the patient is intubated. Its innovative 'Diaphragm-Stimulation and Pressure Support' (DSPS) feature requires much less positive airway pressure to effectively ventilate the patient. The system includes two remote, external muscle stimulant electrodes that can be placed on the right and left sides of the patient's thorax. By applying a very low voltage to the phrenic nerve, the diaphragm contracts, leading to inhalation. If necessary, the system can add additional positive air pressure to further inflate the lungs. It has also positve air pressure modes, if the Diaphragm-Stimulation should fail.
