BIOGRAPHY

Voldrin was born on Yar Togna, in the swampy regions outside a large port city. Pre-birth, his egg had bonded alongside that of a neighboring family’s egg, and the bond of an eggmate formed. Voldrin and Botra were raised as near to brothers as they could be, eggmates and later best friends, as they were raised in their village and schooled among the other children. With the collapse of the empire, their small village had become free of imperial rule but also cut off from nearly all interstellar interaction. As Voldrin and Botra reached maturity, the two both found that their strong connection was not only formed on tradition and friendship, but through the supernatural bond of the force. Both males found themselves capable of doing strange and powerful things through the force, though the concept of the force itself was unknown to them. Hundreds of years had passed since anyone in their village had encountered a jedi, and all memory of the force and those who wielded it had vanished from their minds.

Together the two trained their supernatural powers, drawing attention within their village until word of their talents spread to the neighboring areas. Voldrin and Botra’s earliest ability manifested in telekinesis, and though Voldrin was capable of accessing the talent to an impressive degree, he was no match for the speed and strength of Botra’s own ability. His eggmate’s affinity with the force granted him precision and control beyond Voldrin’s untrained ability, and while the members of the village held them both in a shamanic reverence, Voldrin and Botra could both detect the difference in their power. One night, while asleep within his bed, a vision of a shadowy Nagai greeted Voldrin in dream, foretelling the appearance of a dark visitor. In deep space at the edge of the outer rim, the vision of a Tognath warrior transfixed Taxon Venge while he was deep in meditation. A Guardian of the Eternal in search of Sith relics, Taxon was pulled by the dark side as if tied to the end of a fishing line, drawing him towards the eggmates.

A month after his vision had awoken him from deep slumber, Voldrin saw the same hooded figure he had dreamed of in the form of Taxon Venge. Cloaked in a black robe and riding in an old speeder, the Sith Guardian approached the eggmates and offered them his knowledge of the force and training. Though Voldrin was apprehensive, Botra was excited at receiving formal training and convinced Voldrin that they should study under the strange man. Though emotion had been present in their initial channelings of the force, Taxon opened the eggmates’ minds to the power and wonder of the dark side, teaching them the source of their power and sharpening their skills manipulating it.

Taxon assessed the two’s abilities, immediately recognizing Botra’s power, particularly in the shades of the force most suitable for combat and raw power. Through the force, Botra had a natural affinity for force powers capable of great destruction, while Voldrin had a natural affinity for more mental, sensory, and controlling force abilities. Taxon identified the natural affinities of Botra’s as being more typical of a Sith Lord, while Voldrin’s abilities were typical of a Jedi. Through their training, Botra grew excited at the idea of how he and Voldrin could use their newfound powers to better their villages and their own lives. He was uninterested in Taxon’s goals of reviving the Sith order, and more interested in protecting those at home. Voldrin however, had diverged greatly from the eggmates’ initial plan of helping their people and seethed with jealousy and rage at being outperformed by Botra in nearly all trainings. Taxon’s words had rung true in Voldrin’s heart, and fascination in the Sith teachings of the past obsessively fixated in his mind. Despite not being Taxon’s ideal apprentice in affinity and ability, he had become the perfect apprentice in ideals.

In training under Taxon’s watching eye, Voldrin and Botra were sparring as they learned the way of the lightsaber. Each using one of Taxon’s own twin lightsabers, Voldrin’s psychometric abilities flooded him with anger and rage as images of Taxon’s own memories flooded him. Each life that had been taken with the blooded saber played out in mere moments before Voldrin’s eyes and he lost himself in the visions. He came to attention panting, the glow of his saber shining over the shadowy form of his eggmate lying still on the ground. In the rage that had taken him, half unconscious as he experienced the visions, Voldrin’s body moved with unconscious precision and he had stricken down his best friend. Unimaginable sorrow overcame Voldrin, hate and rage for himself, the dark side, and his teacher all flowed through him.

The hatred Voldrin felt was redirected, as the dark side is want to do, and the increased power he gained from the emotions solidified his addiction to its allure. Taken on as Taxon’s sole apprentice, Voldrin left Yar Togna. With further study under his master, Voldrin was accepted into Guardian status among the Sith Eternal.

Personality

Voldrin is quiet, naturally introverted, and devoted in pursuit of his interests. Like any dark sider, Voldrin is prone to strong emotional states that often end in bursts of uncontrolled rage, but though his addiction to the power granted by the force is obsessive, he is full of inner conflict about the path he has chosen. The broken bond left by the murder of his eggmate has made him callous and cold defensively, sad internally, and when not fully embraced in the dark side of the force he often feels inner resentment. He organizes with the Guardians of the Eternal out of little personal allegiance to their leader, but rather out of the potential the alliance poses for further gain in knowledge of the domination of the force. He has little sense of humor, is naturally one to try to take charge in group settings, and is somewhat rude and crass in his social interactions.

Appearance
Voldrin has the characteristic, alien look of the insectoid Tognath race, unique in his pronounced brow and reddish exoskeleton coloring atypical to his kind. He has an oxygen compounding breathing apparatus typical of Tognath, but wears the filter for the breather on the back of his belt, two tubes attaching from the breather and a tube cutting around each side of his chest to reach the filter on the back of his belt. Voldrin wears a black robe with an enormous hood over a dark leather long sleeve shirt and dark leather pants. He wears black gloves that hide his scaly hands. He keeps his weapons concealed under his robe, but wears his electrostaff slung across his back.

Skills and Abilities

Voldrin is trained in the use of the traditional lightsaber (sword) and the saber-staff dual bladed lightsaber (staff). When fighting with a single edge, he fought in the style of Form V’s Djem So variant, and when fighting with a double blade or staff, he adopted a more aggressive Form VII Juyo style. While melee combat was his preferred form of combat, Voldrin was also proficient with the use of basic blasters, to a moderate degree capable of engaging in close-to-mid range combat. He was not precise enough with a blaster to be useful as a sniper.

As a force user, Voldrin’s strongest affinities were for sensing and mental abilities, and he excelled particularly in the fields of Telepathy, Psychometry, Precognition, Battlemind, and Force Rage. He was talented with Telekinetic abilities, Force Drain, and several other dark side abilities including Sith Alchemy and Sith Sorcery, but he had little to no talent for more destructive dark side abilities such as Force Lightning, Fiery Energy, Pyrokinesis, and others. Outside of telekinetic abilities like Force Push/Pull and Force Wound, he had little direct offensive ability with the force, preferring to use the force to amplify his own abilities and striking offensively primarily with lightsaber combat, or to affect others psionically.

He was a proficient pilot and tactician, having read and studied on both subjects extensively. His knowledge of slicing, droid engineering, and other technical services was serviceable and well read, but he lacked much practical experience.

We'll need a tech write-up for the electrostaff or you'll need to remove it from your bio as it is not a generic melee weapon.
Please make the appropriate changes and tag me for review!
