Vosrik and Shalken's Paint Corner

Hey guys! So although I'm like the most non-creative person on the forum (like, I probably can't draw a stick figure good) I however can paint models fairly well.

Don't ask me to paint on a canvas though. You'd get a better picture if you rolled your face in paint and then onto said canvas.

Years ago my hobby was Warhammer 40,000. Together, @Shalken and I bought and painted about 10,000 points of Space Marines. Unfortunately, we completely lost interest (mainly because it's so damn expensive), and we no longer have our models or paints. We gave those to our dad, who plays with his Ultrasmurfs every now and then!

Shalken and I also each won a painting competition at our local Games Workshop, heheh

Without further ado, here are some of our favourites:

That is some very clean white! Always been my problem color, but looks great!

Yes, that was one of the things Shalken was very proficient at; making a solid white on all his models. It always took at least 3 or 4 coats to make it look good.

For sure. Only time I ever got any good white out there was by priming white and then attempting to shade it down with progressively darker washes in progressively smaller increments. Never really did get it right though. Now, I do green. Raptors chapter, all the way!

Well, and dirty white with black for my Ostland Empire army. Been a while since I touched fantasy stuff though

We each had our own made up chapter (the Starhunters) and even a fair bit of lore for them too. A year or so ago we actually bought a squad of Saurus after some inspiration to do some cool water effects.

The result wasn't as great as we hoped, and we ended up selling the models and paints to a friend. College takes up so much time in a day! Dx
