Just trying to get a feel for the RP. If you haven't seen the profile for my character please review the link in my signature. Since this is going away on July 15, I should get used to RPing. So here we go.

Setting: Coruscant at night. In the Red Light District.
Note: Kent Kentson is a Police Officer.
I hope this is how you do it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The night shift began when the Red District opened its stores to the community who couldn't wait to party. Even though it was at war, the military still found time to drink on their days off, resulting in an increase in security around business areas including the Red Light District. Before the war, night shift only consisted of seven patrol officers in each district; now with the increase of security the night shift consists of thirty-five patrol officers and five chief officers per district. Tonight was no different, Officer Kentson was walking a beat down his area in front of a night club, he was one of the thirty-five armed patrol officers patrolling the streets. Suddenly, a fight broke out in front of the night club.

"District Four HQ," Kentson radioed to his Chief Officer, "we have a fight in front of Box two four eight alpha, requesting assistance."

((Looks good so far. Don't worry, we'll let you know if you're messing up :) ))

Whack-thud.

The meaty sound of fist on flesh rang through Djak's head. So did the blow, to a slightly greater extent. His head snapped around like a mag-switch, and strange patterns of light danced before his eyes.

The Corellian turned back slowly, trying to hide the pain in his neck. "Is that all you've got?"

((If no one wants to drop in as my opponent, I'll edit later. Any reasons you may wish to give that are consistent with Djak's character will suffice))

(ooc: you need to add me , and sorry but i always start my first post off with how misha is dressed. its a personal style. lol you can read her profile its linked in siggy but you might not want to its too long x.x but do make sure to read the spoilers. because theres a link to the messanger bag im writing of))

She was out and about late at night. The hour-glass figure walked the streets of Coruscant alone. Her messanger bag swaying with each step that her black heels clacked against the permacrete walk, she stopped and gazed towards the sky. She could see the stars, but the interference of traffic and light pollution made the mesmerizing past-time an unmistakable disappointment.
For the longest time she'd frequented the botanical gardens on this rock, but tonight she decided to stand up from her night-to-night frequented bench in the park to wander around some and mayhap find something a little more interesting.
She was dressed to impress tonight, with that ruffled black linen skirt that showed only half of her knees, over the pantyhose she wore that reminded her of spiders' silk, and that nice plain white blouse tucked in. What was interesting was the new piece of sapphire hanging from her neck by link and chain, such an elegant piece for an elegant young-woman.
She had dressed to go out originally, but decided that she'd hit up the botanical gardens anyways before heading out to the red-light district. But before she could even take a few monetary steps away from the gardens entrance, she had heard a surprising sound. It was at least surprising for this time of night- in this neighborhood.

After tracing the sound to a nearby alleyway her eyes met with the strange site of two men scrapping it out. A masked mandolorian and... A human.
The mandolorian seemed to be getting the better of the scruffy man until she saw an incredible thing indeed;

"That all you got?" He had recovered from a clean shot straight to the jaw, as if it were merely a scratch. Misha had dealt with Madnolorian mercenaries whilst cleaning the outer-rim after the first hutt war, and knew first hand that a Mandolorian could throw a kriffing punch.

She thought for a second, and slowly backed away not to be noticed, but she watched to wait out what would happen. She readied her bag, gripping the single-hilted elegance within...

"Just in case..." she thought to herself.

((Mandos aren't within this time continuum, but we'll call him an obviously professional bounty hunter))

"Hey stop!" Kent yelled as he pulled the two fighters apart and noticed a knife on the ground, "both of you are now in my custody. I want one of you to start telling me what the Sith is going on! You asshole, with the lights knocked out of you, you start first."

Djak stared at the newcomer, who was sliding in and out of focus most inconveniently. "Going on? Nothing--almost nothing at all. Just having a philosophical disagreement. He thinks that laws are forming us into a more perfect civilization, while I hold that the Entropy Law applies to society as well as physics. He wouldn't see reason. So I hit him."

"I'm pretty sure that's not just what happened. Physics is one thing, but getting into a bar fight with a dumbass pretending to be a Mando. You're not military are you? By the looks of your gut it doesn't look like your part of anything. Do you need any medical attention?"

Djak bristled. His vision was starting to straighten out, but it left one hell of a headache. "No, no meds. I'm fine. Ex-military, sort of, anyway. And you interrupted at exactly the wrong moment, I had him right where I wanted him."

His hand slid beneath his jacket, reaching for the deadly whip that had served him so well in the past.

((Hey, can I jump in here? At the beginning of my character's career, he is looking for a crew for the Red Avenger, my ship. It might change things up a bit if you had a Smuggler looking for a crew get in this stuff. lol))

I don't mind. We need someone to be the masked guy. But you can be a good Samaritan or even use your imagination.

Peat watched the situation from afar. It seems odd that this rough smuggler from tatooine would even be on Coruscant in the first place. But he was here on business. His last crew on his ship had gone "missing" on an expedition at Felusia. So he was looking to gather a new crew from around the galaxy. It just seemed like a coinsidence that this fight broke out. He thought to himself as he watched the fight, That one guy has some balls for taking on a Mandalorian. How promising!

The bounty hunter snarled against the arms holding him back, tearing free too late to do anything to stop Djak from drawing his whip. When Djak thumbed the power trigger, everyone stepped back.

"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way," Djak drawled, feeling like a holovid star. Energy spat and crackled along the four meter lash, he had everyone's attention now. It lay, drawn back already, awaiting the flick of his wrist that would begin the fun.

Not surprisingly, everyone opted for the easy way. The bounty hunter was last to go, stiff reluctance in every joint. But Djak continued to give his lazy smile, playing with the power dial to elicit a deadly hissing from the whip, and eventually the other drew away and retreated into the darkness.

"Don't hurry back, now," Djak muttered. He deactivated the whip, coiled it, and turned to retie it to his belt. His movements screened by his chest, he serenely drew his blaster, then dropped the whip, whirled, and sent three quick shots into the shadows. There was a curse, the sound of broken metal falling to the ground, and the disarmed bounty hunter finally gave up.

Reattaching his weapons, Djak touched his comm. "Kette, I have a feeling I just wore out my welcome. Clearly a setup, the guy never showed. I spent no longer in the club than I had to, and stared at the ceiling the whole time. Care to pick me up, now?"

Kent was communicating to headquarters when he heard the whip, which sounded more like a lightsaber than anything else. Kent thought about using his vibroblade to stay in control of the situation, but he let the victim take care of it his own way.
"The galaxy is changing," Kent thought, "soon we might not even have a stable government."
"Hey Rascal!," Kent said to the victim, "get outta here I'll clean up here. Don't forget that you owe me a drink, badge number CS-324, I'll collect next time you're in town."

Whistling to himself, Djak started down the street, towards the skylane. Kette'ayala had not been happy at this meeting location, he didn't really blame her.

Candy, Djak thought to himself. And flowers. And a cheesy chick-flick holovid.

The young man had watched it all happen from behind the whip handling scoundrel's opponent and he had made sure to stay well out of the path of the fleeing man once the whip had come out. He had thought that was the end of it, but then the man had pulled a blaster and shot what had appeared to be weapon out of the fleeing man's hand. A nice shot, Talum noted.

He heard the words spoken by the law enforcement officer to the scoundrel and took further note that there wasn't any action being taken by law enforcement, and he decided that was the preogative of the officer. It wasn't his place to enforce law.
What did he care about a lowly street scuffle anyways? No, he was frequenting this part of Coruscant because he needed to get off of it, but he had given his last credit to that charity. Fool, he thought to himself. He had done It when he’d first come back, and now for the last few weeks he had been scrounging just to survive. At least after a while, you got so hungry and cold that you weren’t hungry and cold anymore.

He’d been able to shower at a hotel that he’d snuck into through an unsecured window, so at least he didn’t stink. His eyes marked the woman’s location and the man who also stood to the side watching it all.
He watched as the bounty hunter finished fleeing the scene and then he came out from his own place in the shadows as well, his hands raised just enough and his palms facing forward so that someone with an itchy trigger finger wouldn’t make the mistake of assuming he intended trouble. Something hinted to him that this might be a chance opportunity to meet a new means of transportation from this world, so he revealed himself.
“Good evening Gentlemen.” He said, addressing the whip handler and the police officer, wondering if he wasn’t making another mistake as he had a few days before with a man that had only hours later attempted to sell him on drugs. He glanced in the direction that the bounty hunter had departed,
“Not a friend of mine, to be sure.” He forced a laugh, wanting to break the ice. He looked like some kind of hermit, or perhaps at best a backwards rural mystic. His dark gray cloak hung over what seemed to be an athletic frame. He wasn’t wearing any weapons that were visible enough, but sure enough a black curved lighsaber hilt hung on his belt, hidden behind the cloak he wore. A scar ran across his face, under his left eye, lending his young features an older mystique.

Peat noticed as another man walked up to the officer and his latest crew "opportunity." He knew that time was running out for his offer, so Peat started approaching the group, but in a manner that would make him just seem like a normal bistander walking by. As he walked up to the man who had the whip, he slipped a small holodisk into one of his pockets and then dissappeared down the dark street.

"A criminal still needs friends," Kent said looking at the citizen, "just like a hutt needs his crime. I know that you're probably wondering why I let that guy go aren't you? I can't do anything by myself, my backup was already tangled up with a homicide on the north block. Never a good idea to get into a bar fight, even if you are the good guy. So what brings you out this late kid?"
Kent looked up and down the teenager as he spoke. It was never easy to speak to an unknown person, especially a cop like he was. Kent was calm as he knew the kid wasn't looking for any trouble, so he didn't hesitate about holstering his blaster, even though a small crowd was still outside. One of the first things they taught in the Security Academy was to never place yourself in a harmful situation, except they didn't teach how to win the hearts of the public; which is why he had to improvise.
Enough death had taken place so far.

He watched as one man walked by and left, his gaze casting quickly from him then back to the police officer. He had a grim look to his face then, having forgotten it with his friendly entrance but now remembered that he was a somber, depressed young man.

He shook his head to the comment about wondering why he let the man go. One thing he did know was combat, and in a seedy place like this it hadn't seemed the wisest thing in the world for the police officer to get involved at all, by Talum's estimation but he also understood duty and that he'd had to do it. He was inwardly questioning himself as to why he hadn't become involved, to help bring both of the lawbreakers into custody for the police officer and it bothered him.

Had he become so marked by recent events that he no longer cared for good and law? Caught up in his own inner monologue for a few moments, it might seem as if he was just maintaining an odd, uncomfortable silence until he fully focused his gaze and attention once more on the police officer. It might be here that his oddly silver eye color was noticed, he was ostensibly human but the eyes hinted at perhaps a mixed ancestry. Who knew these days, anyways.

"I'm just new in town." He gestured up towards the upperlevels and the atmosphere above them, and considering that the rumblings of a battle were brewing for the capital planet he had reasoned that it might be difficult to leave for sometime.

"Got stuck here, I suppose. I'm actually a little bit lost." He said, this part wasn't a complete lie. He knew where he was, he just didn't know why, or what to do anymore.]

(I wish you'd stay and continue thread Misha, I read your profile and think that your character might be an interesting foil for Talum)

Djak twitched, his first reaction to fillet the pickpocket. He dismissed it an instant later, there was nothing in that pocket but lint and discarded wrappers.

But... no. There was something more. He touched the pocket in question and felt a small disk, a miniholo unit. Not unlike that other time... He forced himself to play it cool, if the drop had wanted a scene, he would have made one.

A speeder rose as he approached the skylane, gliding across the pavement to his side. The pilot was a rutian Twi'lek, with luscious blue skin. A sniper rifle sat on the seat beside her, and Djak cradled it as he slid in.

"So what was the game?" Kette'ayala asked. "Meet anyone interesting?"

"Dunno yet," Djak replied. "Fly."

She did so, angling them up and soaring to a high-speed skylane. Only when the vehicle was on autopilot did Djak pull out the little holounit and activate it.
