Coruscant - Lower Market Districts
0500 Local Time

c9b341f596ce42ce21bbcb1cdc5bc92b.jpg

The area and people that made up the lower market districts were beginning to spin back to life as dawn approached. The sun had just begun to creep over the horizon, though still obscured by the dense clouds in the sky. Across the street from Orys lie the building Orys and BX166 were tasked with breaking into. A 12 story tall building that housed its own penthouse on each floor. The building also featured a basement car park of sorts so the residents could safely shelter their vehicles from any vandalism or robberies. The brightly illuminated sign read "ALAZARIN" and could be seen clearly even from the bench Orys sat on 100 meters away. While waiting for his companion BX166 to arrive Orys inconspicuously rummaged through a black duffel bag at his feet. He was unarmored, wearing sweatpants, boots, a tanktop, and a beanie. After sorting through the gear in his bag he finally procured a pair of binoculars and began to look towards the upper floors of the building for any signs of their target.

Orys scanned several floors, using their windows and balconies to peer inside to the best of his ability. Penthouses 1-5 didn't reveal much other than a couple in 5 arguing back and forth in the kitchen. He couldn't tell what they were arguing about but judging by the fact dishes were being thrown across the penthouse it must have been serious. Penthouses 6-9 had their windows blacked out and balcony doors shut revealing nothing other than the occupants wanted some privacy. Finally Orys rested his eyes on Penthouse 10. The windows had been blacked out but three armed men were having a smoke on the balcony with the door to the penthouse half opened. A man fitting Sho'vonn 's description was seen pacing back and forth in the kitchen behind the men.

"Gotcha".

Orys put his binoculars away and patiently waited for his companion to arrive, checking his datapad for the time every so often.

The droid hummed lightly as he walked through the crows, holding a large duffel bag that had inside his rifle alongside some other objects for support. He soon spotted his colleague for that job, and approached him almost casually. He sat next to him, and casually said "Hey human. What's up?" The battle droid was rather calm despite being surrounded by people who eyed him with both suspect and curiosity, since his design was literally ancient.

Orys was caught off guard by the sudden electronic voice of a droid. He knew to expect a robotic visitor but hadn't been given details other than it's name was BX 166. He wearily eyed the droid, inspecting it's frame. It was definitely an older design but not one he was familiar with at all. Nodding to the droid he waited a few moments before speaking, making sure no one was around to overhear their conversation. "I'm assuming you're who I'm supposed to meet with. BX 166?". A speeder truck flew past the duo going well over the legal speed limit. Soon behind it emerged two police speeders in hot pursuit.

Lighting a cigarette he moved to offer one to BX 166 before realizing once again it was a droid, stuffing the pack back into his pocket. "Target's up there, tenth floor balcony". He pointed with the cigarette discreetly. "I'm not entirely sure how many guys he has up there but my guess is probably a lot more than you and me. I'd prefer to keep things as quiet as possible but we'll see what happens when we get there". Orys stood up grabbing his duffel bag as he did so. He patiently waited for traffic in the street to come to a stop before quickly making his way across. He waited for BX166 to follow, waiting at the base of the stairs that lead up to the main entrance.

If was able to, he'd smirk at Orys's reaction when they met. The droid commando nodded with a synthetized chuckle at the human's question. "Yup, that's me. And I assume that you're Orys" he said. Differently from Orys, 166 had been given also a picture of the man, so he knew that it was him, although asking doesn't hurt. He chuckled once again as Orys tried to offer him a cigarette, and then followed him as they went across the street, looking up at the tall building.

As Orys stood in front of the stairs, he gently put a hand on the man's shoulder, like to stop him. "Before acting, what's your plan? I assume that not all floors could be occupied by foes, but you never know. Do you want me to follow you, or you'd prefer that I go on one of the nearby buildings and give you fire support?"

Orys flinched a bit as a cold and metallic hand made contact with his bare shoulder. He pondered over the droids question as he slowly began to ascend the stairs, his left hand guiding him up the rails and onto each coming step. "This areas too highly populated for sniper support. I think you're better off following me. Besides if I get hurt and need assistance you're doing no good a thousand feet away". As he reached the top of the steps a pair of well dressed men brushed past him and made their way down. They seemed to be in a hurry and both men had comlinks to their ear. "Tune your communications in to channel 74, just in case we get separated". Orys continued making his way towards the building stopping only under the neon sign that read Alazarin. He peered through the front doors and observed what he could from the outside, trying his best to get an idea of how they were going to ascend 10 floors unannounced. The lobby was still quite slow, many people were still just waking up and getting out of bed after all.

There was a main desk sitting all the way at the back of the lobby where a single receptionist could be seen speaking on a nearby phone. The two elevators leading up and presumably down to the car garage sat on either side of her and well within her vision. Each elevator appeared to require a key card of sorts to access it. Orys entered the building and immediately turned left once through the doors, stopping at what looked like a coffee station. A small machine was plugged into the wall and surrounded by various single serve cups of assorted coffee flavors. "If I distract the receptionist do you think you could bypass the elevators security?".

Orys inserted a dark roast flavored cup into the machine and patiently waited for it to heat up. Once ready he placed a cheap Styrofoam cup he'd retrieved from a whole stack on the table under the machine. Slowly but surely a watery black bean juice dripped from the machine and into the cup as he waited for a response from his droid companion.

The droid nodded at the human's answer, following him as they climbed up the stairs. Just a few seconds after the man's request, Orys's commlink gave a faint beep as it received a link notification.

When they entered in the building, the droid looked around, checking for eventual secondary entrances or similar, but indeed, there were just the two elevators. 166 chuckled softly at the man's request and gave a thumbs up. "You're lucky that I brought a few security spikes just for that" he whispered in his ear. "Couldn't find a proper splicing toolkit, so I had to go with that. Perhaps next time I visit Zen I'll ask him for an integrated spike, so I won't need a kit" he concluded. "When you're ready, let's begin."
