BelleBlair’s eyes narrowed.

“I’ve never claimed a life- not even once.” She said, her voice low and seething.

She turned to the young Kiffar with a scowl, her Lekku stiff and her shoulders tense.

“Do not pass judgment on me, Jac” said the twi’lek

“You’re not familiar enough with the subject…”

She turned back to the path ahead, calming herself. She did not plan on facing her brother's captors- she would pay them for his release as promised and that would be that- BelleBlair hated bloodshed and she would not be its cause.

Jac visibly withdrew into his stolen coat. He grabbed the neck of it and pulled it up above his chin, trying desperately to hide the blush on his cross and tense face. He didn't like to be called out, especially on his combat experience.

"You...you don't know shit about me. I've handled the worst prisoners in the galaxy just like the rest of my race. And I know you don't get that sort of quickness with a blaster without shooting anyone." Jac continued to assume, his mood turning sour and his temper rising.

"Kind of like how I know you were a slave with no Twi'lek to talk to." He blurted, still fuming from her previous jab. "No Twi'lek would ever want their head tails bound so tightly unless they had zero control over them, and couldn't speak a lick of Twi'leki. You're more human than you are your own race. At least I fit in."

Jac regretted his last comment almost immediately after saying it, but was far too proud and annoyed at the girl to take it back. Instead, he stood strong, pretended like he meant it, and continued to rap his facial features up so no one could see his grimace.

BelleBlair whipped around to face Jac once again. She opened her mouth for a rebuttal but paused at his comment on her Lekku.
She self consciously drew them to her, holding them like a source of comfort. Her eyes avoided his and she looked physically pained. He had read her like a book and his attack would not have fazed her if it had not been so true in its entirety. She had forgotten her native language long ago and adopted human customs- it was not the first time she had been accused of being less of a twi’lek for it- the repetition of the claim had made her believe it herself. She had bound her Lekku for years to cover her short coming but it was a facade some saw through- she hadn’t taken the kiffar for one so astute to take notice of her inability to control an extension of her own body. She turned back from him with her mouth tight and her stomach strained from holding in the excess emotion that begged to be released.

It was her childhood classmates all over again. Even as an adult she took the mockery to heart- it was the one point of glass in her metal front.

“You’re right.” she said robotically. "I have known nothing else." he voice quivered briefly but she regained control, clenching her fist with determination.

“You're right. At least you have that…"

"Yo, Jac!" Caleb suddenly shouted. His voice sounded full of anger and his right hand rested on his blaster pistol. "If ye don't shut the **** up, I'll tear ye apart and leave ye behind in the snow!"

The Nautolan suddenly turned around and aimed his blaster at the Kiffar. "Ye've got no right to speak like that to BelleBlair, what the **** has she done to ya? Ye don't know her bro so don't speak about him like ye know him. So keep talkin', if ye desire a few holes in yer body!"

He then put back his pistol into the holster and looked over to BelleBlair. "Ignore that punk. He's just a little boy without any experience."

Caleb moved on, not looking back at Jac. He grabbed his datapad and looked at it, the idea to leave Jac behind seemed very good to him. No-one ever said that Caleb was a good person.

“A little boy without experience?” He repeated the words. “A little boy without experience!?” he dropped the backpack holding their supplies, and stared daggers into the back of Caleb. This entire time, he was ignored, or treated like a child, which he hated. It peeved him to be treated with such biased. He had been a respected member of his community no more than three months ago, and ever since he left, all he was to the galaxy was a mere child. He was 17! That’s at least a young adult by any galactic standard. He was sick of it, and finally snapped.

“**** you, you fish-eyed bitch mother ****er! All you god damn do is defend the damn Twi’lek! You ain’t shit!” Fortunately, mainly for himself, he didn’t take out his knife, blade, or gun before pushing through the Twi’lek girl and jumping on Caleb’s back, swinging barbarically to hit any part of Caleb’s body. His moves were sloppy and dangerous, but not life threatening for Caleb, as Jac’s anger was making him inaccurate and predictable.

BelleBlair exclaimed at the sudden outburst from the Kiffar. She wasn’t surprised at the back lash from Caleb comment but hadn’t expected such violent retaliation.

“That’s enough!” She said, seeking to stop them both before an action either would truly regret. She attempted to wedge between them, throwing out her arms.

“We don’t have time for this! Lets put our feelings aside until we’re safe!”

Caleb could be a coldhearted killer at times. For example when he is out on a mission and he has to take someone's life. It was his Dark Side. Everyone had a Dark Side, even the joyful Nautolan named Caleb.

When Jac jumped onto him he grabbed the boy's left leg and pulled him off his back so Jac fell onto the ground.

"Yo! Lad! What the hell are ya doin'!!?" he shouted. "Ye really DON'T KNOW what we are tryin' to do, ay? We're tryin' to survive! SURVIVE!!"

Caleb knelt down beside Jac and he moved his hand towards his blaster pistol. But then he remembered that this wasn't the way he was supposed to act. It was getting out of hand.

He quickly got up and stepped back. "I... I'm sorry." he said. His heart was pounding in his chest and he thought about a few moments ago.

Did he really want to grab his pistol and kill off that guy?

"My God..." he whispered.

He quickly turned around and began walking. There was only one thought racing through his mind: Murderer!

BelleBlair brought her hands over her mouth. If Jac’s actions had surprised her- Caleb’s shocked her! She had though for sure she was about to witness the boy’s murder right before her eyes and drew back with alarm when the nautolan had reached for his gun.

She looked to Jac on the floor with concern and back at Caleb as he walked on. She followed.

“Caleb!” She called, reaching for his hand.

“Calm yourself- tensions are high but we can do this…”

Jac hit the ground with a hard thud. If it weren’t for the snow pack, Jac could have been more seriously injured. Instead, Jac felt his jaw hit the ground first, then felt the cold snow around his mouth begin to slowly soak with blood. It wasn’t anything bad, but it was enough for Jac to snap out of his viscous attack, and lay down on the ground, spitting out a bit of blood leaking from his mouth. He had seen Caleb reach for his gun, and for the first time in a long time, felt outright terrified of his death. The Nautolan’s deadpan look showed no emotion as he swiftly reached for his holster. Those large, beady eyes could have easily killed the kid, and he kid knew it.

Jac spit blood out again, and began to laugh a shallow, winded laugh.

“Seriously?” He shook his head, and spit out a bit more. “Seriously, Caleb? Are you that inhuman that you were about to kill ‘an inexperienced kid’, as you called me? Just who the **** are you?” He looked back at the Twi’lek, who looked just as astonished by the events.

“You aren’t even on a bounty hunting mission right now, and you’re still willing to kill!” He shouted at Caleb, who was now walking away from what he did. “You can’t just walk out on attempted murder of a child, asshole! Walking away doesn’t change shit!”

Slowly, he regained his balance and stood up. The blood had clotted in his mouth, and although he stated a crimson metal in his palette, he was in no danger of further harm. Now, he turned to Belleblair.

“Watch out, don’t touch his hand.” He said as she reached for Caleb. “Don’t want him punching you in the neck and shooting you in the gut, now.” He almost spat it out with disdain. If there was respect for the bounty hunter, he had less for him now. “That’s the true face of contract killers. They are just killers who happen to have contracts. And they don’t stick to the contracts, either. They just kill when they get angry.”

Caleb completely ignored the kid. He then felt BelleBlair's hand and he slowly grabbed hers. He sighed.

"BelleBlair's right." he simply said and he then let go of her hand. He looked her in the eyes and the looked in front of him again. He sighed again and moved on. He calmed himself as he walked on, and he tried to set the thought aside. He was a murderer indeed. He had slain dozens of people with a bounty on their head, and even people without one. He had killed men and women as an act of anger and he almost had killed off a child.

Caleb looked on his datapad again and changed his course a bit to the left.

“That’s enough, Jac.” BelleBlair said after his rise.

That’s enough…”

Truth be told the thought had crept into her mind as well. The only experience she ever had with bounty hunters was positive and she knew their job wasn’t easy- perhaps she had hastily grouped Caleb with men like Ares Varga…what did she really know about him? The word contact killer colored the title with an ugly hue. Caleb was a soldier for hire- he was paid to kill and she had over looked the nature of that career.

“He’s just a kid.” She told the nautolan softly, moving closer. “He doesn’t know what he means…”

She peered at the Data pad curiously and looked into the mercenary's face as he gazed at it.

She hoped the capital was close- there was no time to lose.

"Just a kid. Yeah I know." Caleb mumbled.

OOC: Do you both want to reach the city really fast, or do you want to RP a long journey towards it?

((Then we'll reach it now))

Tof Soren.

Finally.

"I told ye we wouldn't get lost." Caleb said to Jac. After all the anger and hatred that he felt a smile appeared on his face. He laughed and pointed at the city entrance.

"Look!" he said. "We've made it! Now, first thing we should do is visiting a cantina."

OOC: I hope this is cool with you guys. Otherwise, ignore my post.

“Thank the mother!” BelleBlair happily exclaimed and with a girlish giggle she entered the city limits- stopping at the mention of a cantina. The offer was more then tempting- she would have loved to take it but Mullen was waiting.

With a sad smile she said:

“I’m afraid I cannot…” She took The nautolan’s hands in her own and looked into his fathomless eyes grateful for his company.

“You very well might have saved my life, Caleb Kansi.” Said the Twi’lek.

“I am very glad to have met you- I hope to see you again.” She turned to Jac with a smirk.

“He may be a dick, but I’m true to my word and I must go to my brother. Jac I-”

“There you are.” A voice broke in.

It belong to a portly Twi’lek male who came to the gray female’s side eagerly.

“I hadn’t expected you so soon- you are a sight!” he laughed, slapping her back with surprise at her pain filled reaction. He suddenly frowned at her company.

“Belleb’lair?” he said questioningly- he implored an explanation.

She improved her posture and gestured to the pair.

“A few of my shipmates, they journeyed with me here.”

“Friends?” he asked.

“Friends.” BelleBlair clarified. She looked to her companions wishing for more time and bid them a reluctant farewell as the other Hooked and arm around her shoulders and ushered her away into town.

“ You two take care!” she called hurriedly looking over her shoulder.

“I won’t forget you.”

((Don’t worry you haven’t seen the last of her, some action is coming up))

"You take care too, BelleBlair!" Caleb called.

He then turned towards Jac. "So..." he said. "...It's you and me now. Why don't we set aside rivalries and have a drink. We don't have to fight all the time ya know." Caleb attempted to make everything right and to have peace with Jac.

"Or else, just disappear in this city filled with smugglers, rogues, bandits and bounty hunters and hope we'll never run into each other again."

He crossed his arms and waited for Jac to respond. He was not sure if he should let Jac wander through the streets on his own. He seemed like a though kid, but he would not stand a chance against a group of thieves meaning to beat him up and take his belongings.

After the fight, Jac followed in utter silence, mulling over his words. He regretted them, yes, and the silence between the other two-not so much as a look back-made him assume they were in the same position as he. For now, he would follow in silence, and wait until they arrived at their destination. Somehow, though, he knew they'd get there. After that terrible scuffle, Jac ironically trusted the fish far more. And had much more respect for him.

Belleblair had left almost immediately after arriving. It was surprising, but expected. She was peachy, forgetting any qualms she had for Jac. He thought it was admirable, especially to simply leave the company she had to go with that sketchy Twi'lek. He almost missed her presence when she left.

And then there was the Fish. And the cantina. Nothing better.

"Fish-man, I still taste the blood in my mouth from when you dropped me." He said sternly, facing into the black eyes of his questionable comrade.

"You better pay for the 'drink' to kill my pain and sterilize the wound. And the next, instead of saying 'I'm sorry'. Then anything after is on me." He pulled out the credits he got from the dead out of his pocket, looked up at Caleb, and smirked.

"I'm trying not to hold grudges. Something I learned from our previous comrade."

With that, he turned and headed for the cantina. He looked behind at the Nautolin, and called "Hey, are you coming or am I going to have to drink by myself? My God, your kind is so slow out of water..."

Caleb shook his head and followed the boy.

He entered the cantina and he heard the joyful tune that the band was playing. There were many sentients inside and they were all partying and drinking and there was a cozy environment.

A Bith male worked as bartender behind the barcounter. He seemed to be very busy and eventually a Zabrak appeared from the backroom and he walked over to the barcounter and he helped the Bith. Two bartenders were needed to satisfy the patrons.

Caleb walked over to a stool at the counter and ordered two drinks, one for him and one for Jac. He paid and grabbed the glass and looked over to Jac.
"Cheers." he said and he took a sip. "My God, I've missed this!" He said.

As BelleBlair was lead by the Twi’lek guide she hastily passed him her share of credits. They arrived at a large warehouse shortly where he counted them with satisfaction.

“He’s inside. I’ll call someone to send him on out.” he said., turning to speak into a wrist comm.

“Wait…” BelleBlair said.

“You're not coming inside with me?”

“Sorry doll, if it was for anything else I’d be…right behind you.” he laughed vulgarly and continued, petting one of her sleeved Lekku and ushering her towards the door.

“Go get ‘em Belleb’ Eswo.”

His words made her skin crawl.

When she walked through the door she was a strong woman of poise and clarity,

But as soon as she was on the other side a submissive girl with slumped shoulders and great uncertainty took her place.

Mullen approached down the hall, massaging his thick wrist as his cuffs were removed. When he looked up and found the Gray Twi’lek before him a grin spread like a Cheshire cat’s across his scruffy face.

“Blairy!” he hollered, approaching her with open arms and closing them around her small frame with the force of a vice. She stumbled and pulled away as he nuzzled her.

“Ha ha! I knew you’d pull through for me, sis!” He added, leaning in to kiss her. She refused him gently, turning her cheek as he planted his lips just below her temple, her eye closest to his mouth shut with her eye brows turned up in concern and she stammered with trepidation:

“M-Mullen Please…!”

He released her and looped an arm around her waist.

“Lets get my ship and get off this rock.” Mullen Said.

He was a large man, a human with broad shoulders and big hands torn from labor. His eyes were hungry and dark and his stubble showed like salt and pepper up his sturdy neck. His hair was a dusty blond and his skin was fair but blemished, his stature was great and his body hard with thick muscle, Mullen was like a beast in men’s clothing.

“No.” BelleBlair interjected and they came to a stand still in the door way of the cells.

“No,” she repeated with a look of finality.

“You forfeited your ship the second you made a deal with hutts! It doesn’t belong to you anymore, we’ll have to find-”

Mullen released her only to turn abruptly and lean so close to her face they nearly touched. His eyes were hot coals of rage.

“I am not leaving without my ship!” he spat in a harsh whispers. “do you understand? Its all I have!”

The Twi’lek reached for him, hesitantly laying a hand on his shoulder and letting her eyes search for wayward ears.

“Mullen, there’s nothing we can do. I’m lucky I could even get you out- I didn’t have the money the first time and neither does Jett, I can’t buy your freedom a second-”

“ You brought Mom into this!?” he roared, suddenly seizing her.

She flinched and continue with her eyes averted.

“She’s the one that informed me of all this, You don’t understand what your doing to her!”

“I’m not leaving without my ship.” he said again, letting her go with a rough push. He left her and quickly darted down the road and around the building they had just exited.

“Mullen!” BelleBlair called.

“I told them I would leave and you wouldn’t return! Don’t a make a liar out of me!” She rushed after him with urgency.

Jac eyed Caleb, nodded at the cheers, tipped his head back and drank. And then promptly had a coughing fit.

"What did you give me!? *cough, cough* Engine exhaust!?" Jac inhaled deeply, and tried to shake off the red on his face, revealing his teetotaler status in the drinking community. In fact, this was only his second cantina he had ever visited. However, that did not stop Jac from drinking down the house.

"I don't care what I said before, Caleb, you...you are a good man and well respected among any peer in any sea on any planet! Yeah!" He slammed down his empty glass, and broke eye contact with Caleb. He swiveled his bar stool to the front of the bar, and shouted,

"BARKEEP! GET ME AND MY FRIEND A FIFTH. Who do you think we are, just some hooligans!? We just survived a plane crash in a BLIZZARD! And came out okay! SIXTH, WE NEED A SIXTH!" Jac's head was no longer attached to his neck, or so it seemed. He swung it like a wrecking ball, it only stopping once he was at face-level with Caleb.

"Oh, man, this stuff hits hard, buddy. Where the **** are we?" Jac slurred, and stumbled off his chair into a small crowd or Trandoshans.

"GET THE **** OFF ME YOU DAMN DIRTY LIZARDS!" He yelled. The Trandoshans did not like that one bit.
