The small port wasn't anything to marvel at by most standards in the galaxy. It didn't have any amazing tourist sights, or important government buildings, but there were many average people that worked and lived their lives here. That was honestly just how Jago liked it. He enjoyed seeing how the average citizen lived at each port he came too and so far he liked the feeling here.

The locals were also quite generous as well as he found out. He was busy doing what he typically did to make a few credits to enable his travels. He looked out at the street, upside from his current point of view. He was perched on his right index finger, straight as an arrow and supporting his intire body weight. He was completely still in this position, a light glean of sweat on his skin from the effort, though it was pose he'd been practicing from childhood. He held a serene look, with a slight smirk as he held the pose, letting the force fill his being from the physical exertion. His cloak and armored vest sat in front of him with a few credit chits sitting on top, generous donations for his performance. He had to admit he much preferred performing this way to doing various odd jobs around town, but he did what he could to facilitate his travels around the galaxy.

The Matukai adept how now been in his pose for hours, breathing easily sustained by the light. He did nothing to hide his presence and to anyone who felt out through the force they could easily see his aura. Though it differed from the average aura of a Jedi or Sith. It wouldn't radiate outward and surround him like a halo of light. It would instead appear as flowing lines of energy throughout Jago's being.

Nara walked slowly down the street listlessly, peering at the businesses that lined the way. It was a fairly featureless port-town on Ryloth, where she'd had to make a tiny, little, barely noticeable emergency stop. The perils of having a ship as old as hers. The fact that it flew at all was a minor miracle. The Twi'lek mechanics that were working on it had laughed a lot about the state of it. Bunch of small-town wrench jockeys, lording it over my ship just because it hasn't got some fancy new hyperdrive or the afterburners properly installed... she grumbled in her mind. A bit of gentle, inner seething to pass the time.

She became aware of a presence in the Force, however, which pulled her from her grumpiness. She could feel it close by, almost hovering in place near someone. She made her way down the streets, the source getting nearer and clearer. It didn't feel... wrong, so she was fairly sure it wasn't Sith. It didn't exactly flow outwards, like she'd expect from a fellow Jedi.

Instead, she came to the head of a small crowd, watching a Nautolan guy balance on his finger. That's... actually pretty impressive, she thought, folding her arms as she watched him for a little longer. Still feeling out his presence in the Force. Her own presence would be much clearer up close, the gentle light of a Jedi flowing outwards, tinged with a little spiky grumpiness and candor.

"I've gotta admit, that's some talent," Nara finally said, smiling at him.

A few more friendly Twi'leks offered creds to him and Jago returned their kindness with a friendly wink. The girls would walk away giggling, and as they moved away another woman caught his eye. She held herself much differently than most people he'd seen in the galaxy. He opened himself wider to the light, focusing it's energies into his eyes allowing himself to see past the physical. A gentle halo surrounded her and Jago couldn't help but beam as he saw it. Finally a Jedi! He'd hoped his travels would eventually bring him into contact with the order. The Matukai and Jedi had a bit of a rocky past, but now he and his people hoped to move past those old tensions and hopefully make both their orders stronger for it.

He beamed wider at her complement and smile. Jago would easily bend his legs forward and use his arm to hop slightly effortlessly landing on his feet. He'd turn around to face the woman and take a deep bow to the small crowd that was gathered which honored him with some light applause. "Thank you for the compliment, it's an honor coming from you, and also thank all of you for attending my little performance. Come back same time tomorrow if you liked it yeah!" A few more of the crowd would offer him some creds as they dispersed. He'd focus back on the woman that spoke earlier and offer out his hand. "Names Jago and it's a pleasure to finally meet one of the Jedi. Though I least I hope you are or this may be a bit awkward yeah." He once again practically beamed, it was finally happening; the first steps toward really aiding the Matukai. Though he had some doubts if she'd be super enthusiastic about what was to come. I mean he had to be sure that the Jedi could indeed help his order, and he had to be sure that the Jedi were worthy of knowing the Matukai after all.

"Oh, me? A Jedi? I'm afraid you must be mistaken," Nara replied as best as she could, trying to hold back the smirk from her face. It didn't last long. "Nah, I'm kidding. I'm Nara, Jedi Knight." She liked including that title in there. It sounded more impressive that way. She regarded him a little more, thinking things through.

"So, I've got to ask, what would you like from 'one of the Jedi?' It seems like you've got a handle on yourself and you don't particularly seem like someone who needs training in how to control and use the Force." The way he seemed to control himself spoke of a person who'd had some training. She knew the tell-tale signs of untrained Force sensitives and he wasn't giving any of them off.

She had to be certain. He possessed some training with the Force and was interested in Jedi. He could be a potential recruit. He could be a curiosity. He could be Sith, hiding in plain sight. Stranger things had happened, and Nara wasn't intending on being the next victim.

Jago couldn't help a chuckle at Nara's teasing, and kept up his smile. "Ah I had a feeling!" He quickly gathered up his armor and cloak, and motioned down the street. "As far as what I'd like, I can explain if you'd take a brief walk with me." The Nautolan had no intent of malice on his being at all when he offered the walk. If she accepted Jago would simply smile and walk beside her as they made their way down the haphazard streets of the port.

"Well, I guess to begin I'll simply say that no, I need no training in the use of the force, or light as we call it. That we being the Matukai." Jago would pause for a moment to see if she recognized the name of his order at all before continuing. "We're an order much like the Jedi, and much like the Jedi; suffered greatly during the reign of the empire. We scattered to the winds and now there are small clans of us all over the galaxy, some in touch with the others and some in complete isolation." Jago chuckled as a few children ran between them as they walked. "In recent years though, I and many of my clan believe it's time to reunite and build the Matukai once again."

Jago would look to Nara to gauge her reaction at that claim. "In the past I know the Jedi and my order....well...had some tensions. We were never enemies, but the Jedi and Matukai had different points of view regarding the Force." As they walked they would come to small courtyard that seemed abandoned, as most of the shops here had closed long ago. This would do nicely Jago thought.

He would turn to face Nara now. "I want to avoid this if my order is to rebuild. I'd like to be allies with the Jedi. I've traveled many places in the galaxy Nara, I think there's enough tension without our orders being rivals." As he finished he smiled wider, hoping to make his next action not seem hostile. "Now though I'm afraid I have to apologize." The Matukai would wait for the inevitable reply from Nara and simply say, "This." As soon as the word had left his mouth Jago would throw right straight punch aimed at Nara's nose. For Jago it was a slow punch, one that would give Nara time to draw whatever weapon was needed to defend herself. It was time to see what the new Jedi order was all about.

Nara did indeed follow him, walking alongside him down through the streets, weaving inbetween all the assorted denizens of the port. As he made reference to the Matukai, she frowned slightly. She gave a little shrug, shaking her head.

"I'm afraid I'm not known for my history knowledge. I've heard a little of the Matukai but nothing in depth. I have a friend, Izel, who'd probably know it all." The word tensions seemed pretty loaded in his speech, which set Nara a little on edge. Whilst he seemed to be pretty pleasant so far, she had no intention of being made an example of. Not without making one in return.

She noticed the abandoned shops and empty courtyard far, far too late, though. When his smile grew, Nara instantly felt exposed. "What for?" she asked as she girded herself, feeling something was about to happen. Then it did.

Nara saw the punch come towards her. A whizz of green knuckles towards her nose. She twisted to move out of the way, using her natural scrawniness and quickness as an advantage. She felt his fist graze past her nose, wincing as some of the force of it thudding into her. Gritting her teeth, she instantly reached for her lightsaber, pulling it to her hand with the Force. She took a step back, igniting the saber and brandishing it defensively, the blue blade crossed diagonally in front of her body.

"You better have a good explanation for that," Nara snarled, her face turning hard and stern. A pinky-red shade blossomed on her pale nose, showing where he'd made contact.

He simply kept smiling as Nara dodged his punch and stepped back. He did pause for a moment and marveled as her lightsaber activated. The blue blade crossed in defense of her form and lit her face with it's soft glow. It only made Jago more excited as he'd never actually fought against an opponent wielding one of the legendary weapons. He heard her question and simply answered with a step forward of his own and another straight punch, this time with his left fist and aimed at her chest ready to test how his gauntlets would fair against the Jedi weapon.

"Well you see Nara..." As he talked he'd simply keep up the light assault, punches would fly from different angles and speeds, none too threatening, almost teasing and playful in a way, "my people believe the only way to know...a person...hah....is to fight them....huuu...in this way, all prejudices and doubts fall away....HIYU....and what's left is the person's heart!"

With the finish of his sentence he'd only smile wider, this was his element. He focused on the the here and now with the full intent to show Nara his own heart and the heart of the Matukai. He hoped she would return the favor and give the fight her all now. He'd listen to any responses, but the fight was on in full now and Jago fully planned to let his skils talk for him from here on.

The punch moved right towards her chest, easily blocked by her lightsaber. The blade flashed brighter for a second, bathing them both in a deep blue, before Nara pulled back and pulled the blade away. Her eyes watched his fists, flicking to follow them as they moved in a quick, blurred flurry. Both her hands gripped round the saber hilt, shifting and twisting to try and block his fists from getting close to her. More blue flashes. The split-second fizz as her blade met the gauntlets.

"Sounds like... you don't make.... friends easily..." Nara fired back, inbetween movements and shifts. He was still flying punches at her and managing to smile.

Why do I never meet normal people?

"Okay, you want a fight? Fine. Try and go easy on me," Nara replied, smirking back at Jago. To open, Nara held her saber hilt in her right hand as she pulled the left back, eyes narrowing as she focused. The Force swirled around her for a half-second before she thrust her hand towards Jago, pushing the Force towards him before following up with a diagonal slash towards his front, and his gauntlets.

He could feel the utter power of the saber as his gauntlets made contact with the blade. Yes it seemed everything he'd heard about the weapon was so far true. The movements and parries came easily to her, her training spoke of that. Jago wanted more though and he chuckled lightly as she mentioned his ability to make friends. She'd know soon enough at the very least.

He cocked a brow as she went into a one handed grip with her saber and only too late did he see her hand pulling back. Though it wouldn't have helped much if he had. While Jago was an expert fighter the force abilities of the Jedi remained a mystery to him outside of stories. So as Jago went in on his seemingly distracted opponent he was completely surprised to be met with a wall of air that pushed him backward.

He smiled and the seasoned fighter went with the flow of the push, he let his feet leave the ground and twisted his body to his right as he fell backwards. Nara's blade would nick the sash he wore over his armor, Jago only narrowly dodging the blade. As he fell back his right arm would reach out touch the ground. With the new grounding he would counter Nara's slash with a kick from his left leg aimed at her knees, behind the arc of her slash. His smile widened again as if to say, "This is more like it!"

Nara smirked as Jago was pushed back, thinking she might've put him off-balance, but he rolled into it with ease. It was pretty clear that he was a better fighter than she was. Another one of those times that she wished she'd trained more with her saber back on Ajan Kloss. She saw the kick too late, starting to try and move out of the way. She failed. His kick landed on her knee as she twisted, right on the cap. Pain lanced up through her as she gritted her teeth.

"Damn it," she said, sagging down for a second, one hand on the ground as her knee gave way a little. A second and a half as her body recovered the strength in her lower leg. Her other hand held the saber in front of her in a guard position, ready to block any direct attempt at an attack... though she knew he'd be more sneaky than that.

Crap, crap, crap, crap.

As soon as she could position herself again, she held her saber back in both hands and continued to slash towards Jago's gauntlets and arms, taking advantage of her natural scrawniness to reduce her profile.

Jago felt his foot connect with the girl's knee. As she buckled slightly Jago took stock of his opponent. From what he'd seen she was skilled but combat was clearly not her specialty. She knew enough to fend off your average thug, but a more experienced fighter was a threat. That desperate attack from him, while clever, could have easily been hopped over after all. Regardless Jago took the moment of her stumble to get his own feet back underneath himself, with a quick twist of his body and a bit of a hop he was on his feet again. He saw her enter a defensive stance and Jago let her get her footing back. If this had been a serious fight he would have pressed her disadvantage, but for moment he wanted to learn.

So far he noticed something he would put away for later. While he was caught completely off guard by her telekinetic push, he also learned that it was telegraphed. It seemed the Jedi needed to use accompanying hand motions to use their abilities, interesting indeed. Though he would need to further study to know if this was common or simply something Nara did.

He also learned much about Nara from the brief exchange. She was stubborn, with a bit of a temper if her outburst from the kick to knee was anything to go on. The Matukai kept up his smile as she came back in at him, she was also determined and didn't back down from a challenge. Jago's arms moved to block the blade as it worked over his gauntlets and noticed something else. The girl was clever. He strikes came in at reduced angles now, but were also leveraging the reach of her weapon and her own slender frame.

Jago nodded as her attacks came, he was having a blast. After a few more hits he decided it was time to go on the offensive himself. As one of her slashes came in Jago would not just block but move his left arm down in an arc opposite her slash, to parry the blade to the side. He'd follow with another strike to the blade to attempt to knock it even further to side and try to put Nara off balance. If successful he'd quick step forward to deny her the reach of her weapon and strike out with his palm at her cheek.

As her attacks were parried, Nara was picking up things about her opponent too. She'd never fought someone using gauntlets before, which proved a different challenge. He was quicker than a lot of saber opponents she'd faced. He clearly could move.

She knew she wasn't the Galaxy's best fighter. She'd never had the knack for it, like Kori had. Fiach was probably a better duelist than her. In her frustration and shock, she realised she was playing into his hands.

Fight smart, not hard. And you fight dirty.

His parry thrust her saber aside, the flash and push of the plasma and his gauntlets pushing the blade out of the slash. He opened her up and Nara shifted, her boots scraping in the ground below them to center herself. He moved quicker than quick, palm reaching out to strike her hand. It did. It hurt. She winced hard...

She lashed out with her free hand, gripping his arm tight as she quick stepped too, before ducking her head down and driving the hard part of her skull towards his face, attempted to headbutt Jago full on. Just like she used to do when scrapping as a wayward teen.

The fight, outside the force push, had been rather one sided. With this last gambit having paid off he was becoming even more worried that this new order, maybe not just Nara, just didn't focus that much on their fighting skills. He felt his palm strike land his smile diminished a bit, he didn't want to seriously hurt the woman and he only felt worse as he saw her wince in pain. He figured it may be time to consider ending the fight here and there, but that was when she did something he didn't expect. He felt the firm grip on his wrist that stopped him from retracting his arm. He smiled widely as she stepped forward and her head lowered. A Headbutt! Fraking awesome!

Nara came in and even with Jago's training and speed at this point all he could hope to do was not take the full force of the hit. He dipped his own head back as far as he could and turned his head to the left and winced as he felt her skull impact his cheek. His vision blurred for a moment and he smiled wider. He'd never been so happy to be hit in the face and proven wrong. This girl had some spirit alright, he was sure of that now.

While her hit had been successful it also emboldened Jago, he felt she was ready to take the fight up a notch. He let her keep the grip on his right wrist, but he moved the hand down and gripped the wrist of the hand that held him. He now had her as much as she had him. He pulled back hard, Though she'd been successful the headbutt and force behind it would most likely leave her off balance, with most of her weight forward. While her body would be forced forward, Jago would raise his right leg to deliver a knee strike to her midsection, with hopefully very little room and time for her to avoid it.

The headbutt had been a dicey move, admittedly, one born more out of frustration and thinking quickly than any sort of sound strategy. Whatever it did to him, it also had an effect on her. Her vision swayed a little and she was pulled towards him, her weight leaning in towards him, allowing herself to be yanked and pulled towards him.

The knee slammed into her stomach and she groaned in pain, the air knocked from her body as it hit her hard. His knee met the slim layer of muscle in her belly, leaving her winded. Her head swam, still recovering from headbutting Jago. Stupid... kriffing... Nautolan. Already vowing to practice more with her saber, she wondered whether it'd be a good idea to call it quits. Felt like her pride was wounded more than anything. And her stomach, definitely that.

I can definitely try and save a little face here.

She sagged slightly more, like she was giving up. Leaning a little more towards him, letting her smaller weight rest a little more towards his. All before her knee shot up, aiming right between his legs in a very dirty, quick attempt at leverage. Whether it hit something precious or not was irrelevant, as Nara would use the opportunity to try and wrench her arm from his grip. If successful, she'd call on the Force to give her a little extra speed, twisting herself away and flipping back, leaving some dusty ground between the both of them as she stood there, breathing heavily. Her hair stuck to her sweat-dappled forehead.

Jago's smile faded a bit as he felt his knee connect and the girl slumped over. Did he get too carried away? It wouldn't be the first time Jago had gotten a bit too rough in a sparring session. He tended to get a bit too caught up in the moment, he also could forget that he was actually pretty karking strong to boot. Those thoughts were quickly erased when knee suddenly slammed into his groin. Now Nautolan anatomy wasn't exactly like that of a human, but they certainly reproduce sexually...so something sensitive was indeed hit. To his own credit Jago resisted the urge to double over, his training the only thing that prevented it.

He let the girl go and she could see his eyes bulge a bit before he took in a deep ragged breath and crossed his legs a bit. "Wow...ok....yeah...I think we're good yeah?" He looked at the girl and his smile crept back onto his face as he held up his hands. That was dirty; as dirty fighting could possibly get but it was once again another learning experience for Jago. He didn't think it spoke for all Jedi, but Nara in particular. She really didn't back down. Jago could do nothing but respect her for that. He sat down and leaned back on his arms breathing a bit deeper and letting the sweat drip down his face and chuckled.

"So what part of Jedi training teaches you to go for the low blow huh?" it was simply a good natured rib, though he was certainly curious where she'd learned to scrap like that. "Sorry if that last knee was a bit much, you're an interesting person Nara. I can tell you've been through some hardships...but they've only made you stronger...if...ow...a bit stubborn yeah?" He winced slightly as he stood back up and felt that ache in his groin.

Once it was clear that the fight was winding down, Nara relaxed a little more. The tension slipped from her muscles as she sagged slightly, her joints aching and her muscles strained. She held her hand against her stomach, gritting her teeth as she felt the blossom of pain.

"Hey now... you got me good here," she admitted, carefully rubbing her stomach muscles. Closing her eyes to focus herself, to try and alleviate some of the pain and bruising. "It's a combination style. Part Jedi training, part Nar Shadda back-alley brawling," she admitted. They'd probably have some choice words for her if they found out about some of the moves she'd been using. Apart from Hannibal, maybe. He'd probably give me a thumbs up.

"Thanks... I think. You wouldn't be the first to call me stubborn." It was one of the nicer things they could all agree on about Nara. Ruthlessly stubborn, to the point of stupidity sometimes. "And you are a sneaky piece of something, but you're a pretty good fighter. And you can read people well." With that, she smiled at him again and flicked the twist on her saber, extinguishing it and hooking it back to her belt.

"So, did I leave you with an impression of the Order? Because there's so many of them you could meet."

Like a rancor, for starters.

Nara's comments would get a hearty chuckle out of Jago. He'd nod and begin to center himself focusing the light inside himself to overall speed up the natural healing of his body. He'd think for a moment contemplating her question. Had he learned anything about the order from their fight? After a moment he would look her in the eyes and smile again.

"I would say I did. I think you and the order have a good heart...but you're still learning. Which is fine, my order is also building and learning what we can do to help people yeah?" He would approach her with no ill intent and put his hand out for a friendly shake. "I think the Jedi have the best interest of the galaxy in mind." If she shook his hand he'd smile even wider and then cock his head to the side. "So I've got to ask, besides a few bruises, did you learn anything about me from the fight?" Jago was truly curious if he'd imparted a bit about himself through the fight.

Nara eyed the hand carefully before going in and shaking it. Her other hand reaching close to her blaster, just in case. One thing she'd learned about Jago? He'd take any advantage he could.

Probably something to learn there.

"Hm... well, you can hit like a capital ship when you want to," she admitted, still feeling the throb of bruising on her stomach. "You're serious about it too. Your training is extensive but like you said, you're still learning. And you're curious enough about other people to pick random fights." She remembered how his face changed when she'd pulled out her saber. Obviously, he wasn't acquainted with them much.

"You're very well trained, with your body and the Force, in ways that I can't quite imagine. But..." she started to say, slipping into more speculation than anything else, "I wonder if your training is hyper-focused? You mentioned that the Matukai have a different perspective on the Force than the Jedi. So what do you use it for? Our training can be broad and we each specialise in our own ways." She waved to herself. "I'm not really much of a fighter, there are plenty of others in the Order who could run circles around me. But I'm much better at healing. I have friends who can perceive the past through traces of the Force on objects, or who can channel the energies of a whole community to assist them and find things out."

"So, what can you do?"

Jago smiled and nodded his head as Nara told him what she'd learned from the fight. He raised a curious eyebrow as the Jedi went into a bit more detail, essentially wanting to learn more about him and the Matukai, which Jago was happy to do. After the fight Jago learned he had no reason to worry in telling her a bit more about his people.

"Well you're not wrong. We Matukai are very focused on training our physical bodies and fighting skills. We are at our hearts warriors. I know many of the Jedi are like that too, but we tend to take it a bit further. I don't think any of my people..hmmm except a few maybe, could do what you did with that push earlier yeah?" Jago began to pace back and forth as he thought. "We tend to focus all of energies inward yeah? You saw my little performance earlier right? Well I was training just as much as performing." He fell to the side and caught himself with his right hand, while lifting his legs up and over his body, taking on the same pose as before. "See we train to be in complete control of our bodies, every muscle working together and through that training we become closer to the light...or force yeah? In a way we learn to channel the force to enhance ourselves. The harder I fight, the more my body works, the closer to the force I become yeah? With that we learn to enhance parts of our natural senses, like sight or smell. I'm pretty hard to poison too and I never get sick." Jago smiled at that, "If I do I can sense it before it becomes a problem and just enhance my bodies natural healing process and eliminate it."

The Nautolan would hop and stand back up. "I guess to really sum up the Matukai, we turn our bodies into as dangerous a weapon as we can in order to protect those who can't protect themselves. Seems in this day the galaxy could use a bit more protecting don't you think?"

Nara had to admit that he was right. The Galaxy did need a fair bit more protecting these days. That's why she was getting involved in other things herself. But what Jago said did sound genuinely impressive. She certainly couldn't do half the stuff that Jago could.

"Well, you'd have kicked me from one end of the Galaxy to the other in a straight up fight, I'll admit that," she finally said, shrugging. "That's why I tend to avoid straight-up fights. I prefer being sneaky. Or quick. Or just not getting involved at all." The idea of training so inwardly was kinda fascinating... if only because it seemed completely antithetical to Nara's outward, oversized attitude.

"I mean, we're supposed to meditate to grow closer to the Light but honestly, I'm pretty bad at remembering. I was never the best student so, y'know."

Watching him move again, she thought back to the initial part of their meeting. How eager he'd been to learn that she was a Jedi. "So... what are your plans with the Jedi then? I'm pretty sure that there'd be a few people who'd be very interested to meet someone from your Order, if you ever found yourself on Ajan Kloss."
