Leon Baudelaire’s head bobbed to the music playing in his Ezbuds. For the first time since becoming a Knight he’d decided to take some time off. So, naturally the first thing he wanted to do was annoy his bestie. Nothing about Leon’s attire said Jedi, and he liked that. He was wearing a distressed black leather jacket, a white t-shirt underneath, and a pair of black jeans cuffed just above his chelsea boots.

Now, at this point you’re probably wondering, did Leon Baudelaire think to text Ezra ahead of time to make sure he wasn’t interrupting something super important, the answer to that question is a resounding: Nah. The way he saw it, if Ez was actually busy or didn’t wanna hang out, then Leon would just enjoy Nubia… sad and alone… then he’d probably hit up Jayna.

Baudelaire’s mind drifted back to their first date. To be honest it felt like a dream. Standing at the top of his boarding ramp looking down into her— SHRREEEEEEECH!

The monorail began to slow, cutting his revelry short as he looked up and spotted his stop scrolling across the notification screen just above the exit. He hopped up snagging his skimboard from under his seat and jogging off the train and into the subway. Once he got to the surface he pulled out his EzPhone and shot it’s creator a text, which was weird in a cool way.

Yo, you busy? We need to talk.​

Leon’s little smirk spread into a full smile. He was positive this was going to backfire, but that was alright, it was kinda his thing.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra was at a computer terminal in the new penthouse apartment he shared with Dash (@Alhon) rapidly typing away on coding for some of his products. He had four different screens up, two for university homework, two for EZTech. His eyes were red from sleep deprivation, but he had to get a lot done before the next mid-term and the next beta release of some new products. Much to Dash’s chagrin, he had his own preference of music blasting. He and Dash may have agreed on many things, but the two had very different tastes in music and movies, and it became more apparent than ever now that they were living together.

He was about to have another spoonful of cereal at his desk when his EZPhone beeped. Ez didn’t like people, so he had specific tones for his friends and loved ones. Leon’s was a specific chime that was accompanied with a huge picture of him in the leather getup from Berchest. He rolled his chair over to read the text, brows furrowing. He sent one back.

You breaking up with me?​

When it was clear his friend was actually here, he stood up, grabbed a jacket and started to leave. He thought about inviting Dash, but his bro would’ve sent it in the group chat if this was supposed to include everyone.

“I’ll be back later, babe,” He called out to his boyfriend, “And yes I’ll bring back frozen yogurt..” He grumbled, rolling his eyes without even needing to be asked.

It wasn’t long before Ezra found his best friend, his expression more suspicious than the default, “What brought you all the way to Nubs?” He asked, genuinely curious before he launched into their stupid handshake greeting.

Leon laughed as Ezra responded.

Then shot back:

You wish, lol. I'm on Nubs, wanna hang out? I miss you bb. :'(​

Baudelaire jumped on to his skimboard and started heading to the spot Ez sent him. A quick street sesh later and he was popping the board up and tucking it under his arm while simultaneously joining in on their totally not over the top handshake

“Three things, first,” Leon swallowed, preparing to get punched in the face, “I’m dating your sister and wanted to tell you to your face,” then as quickly as he could he practically shouted, “Second, this is the first break I’ve gotten since becoming a Knight,” Baudelaire could see Ez was just as exhausted as he was, “Third? Well, I really did miss you, asshole,” he said with a laugh.

Leon looked around for Dash, “Huh, I kinda just assumed Dash ( @Alhon ) was here. Once we got Starlight into it’s final stages he was itching to get the hell out of there,” he chuckled.

He looked around the city. It reminded him of home, well, it reminded him of his first home. His actual home was wherever the Jedi were cowering currently. It was weird to him that no one had done anything about the attack on Ithor. Was that how Yavin had been? Were the Jedi all talk and no backbone? Was he really the only one trying to find a way to stop the monster that had ruined the lives of thousands? He pushed his frustrations from his mind for the time being. He was here to relax, not talk about work.

“How much time can you spare? I definitely want to inconvenience you, but not so much you actually get fucked over,” he said with his little smirk.

[Ezra Thorne]

Leon would see Ezra’s ears visibly start to flatten at the admission of dating his sister. His jaw tightened and his fingers twitched a bit with the desire to curl into fists. He did a few calming breaths to contain himself, but he ultimately kept his cool. The part Sephi’s eyes, however, were narrow to slits and drilling into his best friend. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise - his twin was obsessively active on social media and he had seen pictures of them together. Ezra had only hoped it wasn’t actually a thing, but now it was.

“Clearly her standards are nonexistent,” He said curtly, his face suddenly a bit moody. However, after a moment a smirk graced his lips, “Well if you get there, I can’t wait till you meet Pops,” He snickered. All those times Leon spent camera bombing his video calls with Pops or being a nuisance in the background would do nicely for that meeting. One of those times he was positive Leon was walking around in boxers scratching his nether regions.

Ezra rolled his eyes as Leon immediately followed up by asking for a favor, “If you’re going to start with dropping depressing news like dating my sister on me, at least have the decency to buy me caf,” He stated flatly, “What do you need?”

Ezra recalled Leon looking around for Dash, “Dash it back at our place trying to decide on outfits for the Pride Festival next month,” He grimaced, “He wants me to dress up.”

Leon saw Ezra’s ears flattened, Ah shit here we go… he thought bracing himself for a collision with his best friends fist, but it didn’t come, Baudelair peaked through pinched closed eyes at Ole Jabs and tentatively relaxed. Ezra’s comment elicited an auto-quip from Leon, “Thankfully,” he corrected with an apologetic smirk.

The dastardly little smirk on Ezra’s put a confused frown on Leon’s face, and then he said something that Baudelaire hadn’t even thought to consider. At some point he was going to meet the family. Leon’s eyes widened in shock. Images of his various, absolutely hilarious at the time, camera bombs between the Thrones came flooding back to him. He blinked a sudden hollow feeling took residence in his gut and brought him back to the current. With a deadpan as dry as the dune sea of Tatooine Leon said, “You're welcome for how much you’re going to enjoy that.”

Leon’s head cocked to the side, he had even asked Ezra for anything, “Ouch, to the first thing, What? To the second.” He put up his hands in surrender, “I don’t need anything,” He shrugged, “I know your super busy, so I was trying to be nice, but fuck it, you’re stuck with me until I get bored now.”

That was only partially true, If Dash hadn’t already filled Ezra in on the Cult he’d been hunting, Leon would wait until they had caf before asking. He wasn’t as uncouth as Ezra tended to think he was.

“Oh cool! I bet that’s gonna be a ton of fun.” He was glad Dash was doing the smart thing and taking some time off. “Of course he does,” said Leon with his patented smirk, “It’ll mean the galaxy to him and you’ll get a ton of attention, it sounds win/win to me, bud.”

They stepped into a third wave caf shop and Leon was relieved, he was worried he’d have to settle on SpaceBucks. Baudelaire stepped up to the counter, “Hey, can I get the Dantooine Single Origin as an Iced pour over, a shot of espresso, and a mineral water? Oh, and whatever this cutie besides me wants,” Leon would pay the tab, but he wasn’t going to order Ezra’s insane drink, not after all that sass earlier.

Once they were seated he’d ask, “How’s the company doing? I’m loving the phone and ear buds.”

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra turned to the caf owner that already looked depressed. Clearly Ezra had been here before and just didn’t remember, “Trenti iced caf, 3 pumps sugar free vanilla, 2 pumps sugar free hazelnut, caramel drizzle, 1 pump skinny mocha, just a splash of soy, exactly 3 mint chips with a chocolate swirl and just a top layer of malt chocolate powder finish,” He rattled off, “Not too complicated,” He added. Leon would know that this was actually one of his tamer orders.

The Thorne sat down across Leon after his drink was finally prepared, the workers nervously looking to see what he thought of it. Ezra took a sip and didn’t even think twice about it, the workers exhaling in relief, “It’s going well,” He said, genuinely thrilled, “Demand is through the roof. I’m trying to find manufacturing plants to surge production.”

Ezra took another sip of his complicated caf that tasted wonderful, “How’re things for you? Do you need help with Starlight?” He asked. While he had originally signed up to work on it, getting into NIT had made it difficult to dedicate time. However, he had the next few days off.

Leon couldn't’ help but realize that his order was actually a way bigger pain in the ass than Ezra’s monstrosity, but decided to not push the matter.

Baudelaire sipped his shot of espresso as Jabs. A thought occurred to him, “Adumar has a ton of manufacturing plants. The planet primarily exports ships and munitions, but as of like three years ago there was a mercantile boom in the Downbelow, that place I’m from in the planet’s capital, and manufacturing became the big wealth leveler on the planet. Could be something to look into,” he said with a shrug.

Leon smiled, “It’s done man, we launched it like a week ago. We’re having a big welcoming party, you should come.” He purposefully left out the fact that he’d been asked to give a speech, in all honesty he was still struggling with it.

“Everything else is pretty cool. I’ve been hunting this wacky ass cannibal cult, and I think I’m getting close to finding their nest. If you’re interested I’ll give you a heads up before I go in. I mean unless you’re too busy with SkOoL!” he teased.

“I’m really happy for you man,” he said with a genuine smile. “You seem like you’re really hitting your stride, it’s enviable,” he blew out a breath, “I feel like I’m stuck in a weird superhero loop I can’t wake up from.” he chuckled, a little more derisively than he’d intended.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra grimaced slightly at the revelation that the space station was already launched. He should have expected it - he had been entirely too busy with EZTech. However, it stung more than he would vocalize that he had no part in bringing to life the very thing he discovered. It was his ego that was grumpy about it, so he said nothing. Ezra sipped his caf as Leon went on to describe some cult, a brow raising, “Cannibal cult? Sounds like the Saloomi again..” He muttered, wondering if they would ever escape those types of scenarios.

“I guess so,” He shrugged at Leon observing that he hit his stride, “I feel like I took Dash away from life in the Order,” They both knew Dash was a social butterfly and knew practically everyone at the temples and went to all the social events. Instead, now he was here on a planet he didn’t know around people he didn’t have any shared life experiences with. Dash had chosen it, of course, but the guilt still nagged at Ezra.

“I've got the next few days off,” He said, thinking back to Leon's remark about the superhero loop, “Clearly the sidekick needs the main hero to show up, so let's go."

Leon scoffed at Ezra’s joke, “These guys are a lot worse than the Snu snu’s…”

Ole Jabs mentioned stealing Dash from the Order and Leon laughed, “Yeah right. Dash needed a break. You didn’t steal him. He’s spending time with the one he loves, shut up. He’ll get bored of you eventually and come back when he’s ready.”

In all honesty, Ithor had shaken Leon deeper than he’d initially realized. The thought of any of his friends getting out of the Order brought him comfort. Which was something he wasn’t sure he was ready to unpack.

He’d come here to play video games, eat shitty food, and inconvenience Ezra in every way possible, so when his main amigo called him out and said he had a few days off… Leon wanted to cry.

“No.” he said flatly.

His body hurt. He hadn’t actually slept through a full night in almost a month and he knew the next time he engaged the cult would be a deciding battle. The end of Grandmaster Tolan Kar’s first trial. He killed the rest of his espresso and elaborated, “I’m spent. I need time to recover from… well, from everything.”

Leon took a sip of his mineral water and said, “Besides, we still have a tie to break.” Ezra would know exactly what he was talking about. He’d know what their greatest rivalry was over. The catalyst of their competitive spirit, the stoker of their best friend flames: Battlefront 45: The Clone Wars remake.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra was surprised when Leon flatly said no. He was normally good at reading his friend, but clearly he missed the intent here. When Leon brought up their tie, he scoffed at the memory. When the two were roommates, they spent their down time playing video games or trying out new combat combos. Ezra would never admit it, but he missed that far more than he expected when he moved out of the Jedi quarters. Knights normally didn’t share space to begin with, and those memories of bickering and spending time arguing over philosophy or just plain getting into brawls lingered on his mind.

He said nothing as he rose to stand, motioning for Leon to follow him out of the caf shop. Once they were out of sight from others, Ezra abruptly spun and socked Leon right in the stomach hard enough to make him double over. Ezra calmly sipped from his caf, “That’s for dating my sister,” He said coolly. If Leon thought Ezra was going to let his initial reaction slide just because they were in a public place, he was wrong.(@Altaris)

When Leon finally recovered, Ezra started walking again as if nothing happened. He swiped a card to get into a fancy building, taking a repulsorlift all the way to the top. They stepped in and Leon would be hit with the smell of wonderful essential oils and fragrances. There was music blasting from the speakers and Ezra grimaced at once, rolling his eyes, “Dash I swear..” He muttered under his breath before switching it to his preference of music. (@Alhon)

There was a large screen and a view that overlooked the university campus. He plopped down on the couch, booting up the gaming system. If Leon looked around, he would see countless pictures of the couple - most of which involved Dash smiling widely and Ezra doing his usual icy brood. There were pictures of Dash’s family, Scrub Squad, some of their other friends, but curiously none of Ezra’s family outside of one with him and his twin.

“All right, prepare to get railed,” Ezra said with a smirk as he looked at the screen, “And don’t put your feet up on the table,” He warned without looking right as Leon prepared to do just that.

Ezra motioned for them to go and Leon nodded. He killed his mineral water and picked up his iced caf. They stepped out of the shop then around a corner. Leon was in the middle of taking a sip of caf when the sucker punch landed.

Now, Ezra was probably one of the smartest being’s Leon knew, however, Baudelaire’s luck always seemed to out smart him. Leon’s eyes went wide as he watched the wind up in slow motion. No chance to brace. No chance to stop breathing.

Caf spewed from Leon’s mouth directly into Ezra’s face.

Baudelaire was doubled over, trying to suck any kind of breathable air back into his lungs while also trying to laugh. It was probably the most painful thing his lungs had ever been though. The topper was Ezra trying to still be serious as caf dripped off the end of his nose.

“I’d say sorry,” wheezed Leon, “but I’m not,” and then he let out the saddest snicker he could manage.

As with most things Thorne, Ezra’s place called Leon poor immediately. For force sake it even smelled expensive. Instinctively, Baudelaire slipped out of his boots and followed Jabs toward the living room. He spotted several pictures of the couple and had to stifle a laugh as Dash’s face changed in nearly everyone, but Ezra looked photoshopped. Same fucking face everytime. His eyes landed on the pic of the squad and his mischievous little smirk spread across his face.

The Order wasn’t the same without them together. Leon had been lying to himself that it was, but in all honesty, if he hadn’t been so busy he’d be right back where he was before they’d all met. Then again, maybe not. He’d really come out of his shell recently, that didn’t change how badly he missed his friends.

Then he saw the pic of Ez and Jayna. His eyes flicked to Ez who was changing the music or some shit. They were much younger in the picture. Ezra’s brooding expression was more of a pout and Jayna’s intent stare was juxtaposed by a big grin across her face.

“Couple of little cuties,” Leon teased flashing Ez the pic before putting it back.

He followed the homie into the living room and plopped down on the sofa immediately lifting his legs to rest on the table when Jabba barked at him.

Leon tapped his index finger to his nose and retorted, “Two things you’ve definitely said to Dash in this house.” While slowly, but surely lowering his legs to rest on the table. He fixed Ez with that infuriating little smirk as he got closer… cloooooooser… clooooooooooooooser.

Then put his feet on the ground. Man, he missed fucking with Ezra.

“1v1 me bro,” said Leon, picking up the controller and connecting it while Ez got the match and map set up. Leon realized his gamer tag was still saved on Ezra’s console.

“Bro?” he said, with more emotion in his voice than there should have been. His bottom lip was stuck in a harsh frown and he quickly wiped tears from his eyes. He cleared his throat, the octave of his voice dropping too low, “I’m gonna fuck your whole shit up!” he exclaimed.

The match started, and the battle for the galaxy began!

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra started coughing and sputtering on his caf when Leon made his quip. He almost opened his mouth to make a snarky joke about Leon’s love life, but he quickly remembered it involved his sister. Suddenly the Thorne felt ill. He could never crack dirty jokes like that with Leon while Ezra and Dash were open season. Before Leon could pick up the controller, Ezra grabbed it and moved to hand it to him politely. Except he ‘accidentally’ dropped the heavy controller right on Leon’s nuts as he passed it over, “Whoops,” He said calmly before he looked back at the screen.

He didn’t realize how much he missed this until they started playing. Right away, they were put on a map on opposite sides with split screens. Ezra got lucky with the weapons choices he had, and he managed to spot Leon in no time, popping a few shots before ducking behind cover again.

“So do they still have you living like a Padawan in the dorms on Starlight?” He asked, amusement bleeding into his tone. He didn’t miss the subtle flash of emotion on Leon’s face earlier, but Ezra was the absolute worst when it came to things like that.

[Leon Baudelaire]

”Why…” whined Leon as the controller collided with his “Coin Purse” and just sent his change a’ rattlin’. Immediately his stomach started hurting. At the same time the match started, and Baudelaire found himself scrambling for the controller.

“WOW, fucking CHEATER!” he practically screeched falling off the couch and onto the floor before jumping up and wincing as his nethers protested movement of any sort.

Leon’s avatar ran in circles while Baudelaire got his life together. Suddenly blaster fire went off and Leon yelped, “Oh, fuck you, how did you already get the blaster upgrade?!”

The Republic clone commando Leon controlled dove to the right and took cover. Leon hit the wrong button and the guy started emoting. Leon laughed then swore as another wave of genital pain threatened to put him out of commission. Luckily, the muscle memory of the game was starting to come back as the initial pain for Ezra’s cheap trick receded. His commando’s shield bar refilled and Leon moved. He was looking for the sniper.

If Ezra was gonna cheat, so was he.

Baudelaire’s infuriating little smirk settled on his lips as he spotted the weapon. He stuck to cover, no longer hunting Ezra, but well aware that the Thorne was hunting him. The Commando slid across the ground and snagged the sniper tossing out his default E-10. Baudelaire cut to the right, sending “Rex” hauling ass toward cover.

Ezra asked about his living situation and Leon scoffed, “Nah, Knight’s get apartments and Master’s get penthouses— Well” he looked around, “They get slightly bigger apartments,” he corrected, noticing how loosely the term “penthouse” had been thrown around on Starlight.

“Honestly, I’m either on Ellora or in The Freebird,” he chanced a glance away from the screen to Ezra adding, “Why, you miss me?” He gasped, “YOU DO!”

Baudelaire, who was still standing, started doing a little dance while singing, “You miss me, you miss me, you miss me!”

[Dash Pavan]

"I know, but he just doesn't get it!"

"Come on Dash, he's really smart isn't he? Why don't you just say look-"

"Girls, I've said it a million times. He's really good at being on a different planet when he wants to be".

Dash had another sip of his wine. The girls hadn't a chance of understanding how intractable his man could be, but he didn't really mind. They also couldn't hope for such a dream.

One of the service droids slid into the room politely and Dash decided to say his goodbyes.

He rolled over on the bed, downing his glass. "What is it Five?". He had taken to calling the droids by the final number on their casing, while he campaigned for more meaningful names.

"Master Ezra and another gentleman are becoming rather animated in the games room, sir. Should we offer them a nightcap?".

"Animated...?" Dash repeated, suddenly as alert as a viper. "No I'll investigate Five".

Dash was off the bed in seconds, depositing his empty glass and striding surreptitiously down to the games room, his scant pajamas trailing.

A rather lazy day was taking a rather unexpected turn.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra scoffed at all of Leon’s accusations about cheating, “Sounds like a skill issue,” He stated curtly as he continued to dominate. Leon was notorious for blaming everything but himself when he was doing poorly in gaming. One time they were sitting side by side and he claimed to be ‘lagging’ while Ezra could clearly see his split screen.

He was about to start the next mission when Leon started his annoying singing. The part Sephi exhaled, shaking his head. How he tolerated this idiot for two whole years would forever be a mystery. He was also more likely to suck on Councilor Hera’s toes than ever admit that he missed Leon. Ezra leaned back in his seat, his silver gaze on the screen as he cycled through different terrains.

“Oh look, they popped out a space station map,” He said with a grin, selecting it. His sensitive hearing picked up some movement and he glanced over, doing a double take when he spotted Dash. His ears turned pink almost at once.

“Come on, babe, cover up..” He mumbled almost inaudibly, his face burning hot from embarrassment. He was old fashioned modest to a fault and Dash was walking around wearing briefs that left literally nothing to the imagination. It could’ve been any random dude and his boyfriend would be prancing around like that! Ezra cleared his throat, his gaze drilling holes into the screen, "I got you frozen yogurt."

”Oh yeah, it had nothing to do with you hitting me in the balls,” he chuckled derisively. Ezra obviously whooped his ass in the first round, but Leon was just getting warmed up. At least that was his excuse.

“Oh cool, you got the expansion, is the story good?” asked Leon, finally taking a seat back on the couch and nearly putting his feet on the table before remembering Ezra’s reaction earlier and easing them to the floor. Leon looked over and saw Ezra distracted by something so he reached over and hit the X button to start the match.

Enter Dash.

Leon spotted something out of his periphery, but refused to be distracted. The match started and “Rex” rushed forward. He lucked into an upgrade unlocking a hero, Leon took it. Baudelaire’s mouth hung open as Peef Callo, well the Peef from the holo’s, stepped onto the screen.

Ezra’s character was standing motionless. Leon didn’t wait. Peef’s Peacemaker flourished in his hand then fired off three shots.

Leon jumped up, pumping a fist in triumph! He looked over and saw Dash in… clothing? Ezra’s ears were bright red.

“Uh-oh, looks like Dash is ready to rail us both,” he laughed.

“Hey dude, I was hoping you were here!” Leon said, settling back in on the sofa.

[Dash Pavan]

Dash slid the door of the games room open with all the drama of a TV show host, striding in with an accusatory look on his face. Buttressed by far more wine than he realised, he initially expected to find Ezra up to no good and have a field day admonishing him.

As it was, he found Ez and Leon chilling playing their games, rather sedately in fact. Ezra mumbled something, but Dash was too distracted to hear. He merely stood there arms folded, looking nonplussed from one to the other.

"Rail you?" Dash's look of utter confusion melted into realisation. It dawned on him that he had come downstairs in a set that didn't normally leave the bedroom, and for good reason.

"He would be so lucky" he said eventually, glancing sideways at Ezra and gathering the scant gown as slowly as he dare to slyly cover himself. He didn't think he was...on parade, but he couldn't bring himself to check. He also couldn't decide if the fact it was Leon made it better or worse.

"Oh really? Thanks baby" he said, grinning awkwardly. He did love frozen yoghurt, not that he could remember actually telling Ezra that. But he was Ezra, how else could he know. "Do you guys want any snacks?" it was all he could think to say to get out the room in a managed way. He was embarrassed for L more than himself, but he was not running out with a squeal. Not in his own house.

[Ezra Thorne]

Ezra glared at Leon about his railing comment, which Dash made far worse with his response. The Thorne’s face was as red as a tomato, and he sank deeper into the sofa, entirely flustered and embarrassed. He kept his eyes fixed on the screen, giving a noncommittal grunt to the question about snacks.

He hoped Dash left to return with more clothes. In truth, he loved those ‘pajamas’ on Dash and fully endorsed him prancing about in them. Just not when his best friend was over. Ezra started the next level, quickly unlocking a different hero. He also managed to find a sniper gun. Trying out his luck, he took aim and fired way across the map. By some absolute miracle, it shot Leon’s character right in the head.

“What!” Ezra exclaimed, a rare bit of animation on his face as he sprang up to his feet. The screen flashed that it was a record breaking shot. He had a smug grin on his face as he looked at his buddy, doing the same gesture he did when they killed that giant snake on Kashyyyk.

No doubt Dash was back by now and Ezra glanced back at Leon, asking nonchalantly, “So are you crashing here or what?” It was the nicest way he would ever ask a friend to stay.

Ezra’s glare only made Leon’s smile widen. Dash’s comment pulled a bark of laughter from the Adumarian, “Nice.”

Dash took his time covering up. Leon couldn’t tell if he was teasing Ezra or dealing with a lack of blood reaching the rest of his body, cause the homie had a fucking anakkoa coiled up in his skivvies.

The next match started and out of nowhere a shot hit him dead in the head. His mouth dropped open in pure shock. Leon jumped up at the same time as Ezra, unaffected by the loss and blown away by the shot. “THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!”

He joined in on the victory dance, and then dapped Ezra up, “Alright, fuck, you’ve gotten way better,” he admitted to his chagrin.

He was surprised when Ez asked him to stay. Leon thought about it for a minute. He didn’t want to impose on them. He’d only planned to stay for a few hours and then dip, but the prospect of relaxing in an actual bed not on his ship was pretty tempting. Then again the nightmares he’d been having were getting pretty bad. He wasn’t sure he wanted either of them to know about that.

“Uh, I’d love to, but I’ve gotta split soon,” he said hiding behind his smile, “Gotta finish up some work shit…” he said lamely. Luckily, he didn’t think Ezra would follow up.

“I have time to grab a bite though,” he said pre-empting any argument, “Besides, I have a key,” he said looking over to Dash with an impish grin, “So like, I’ll be here way more than you want me too anyway,” he said, giving Ezra a playful shove.

[Dash Pavan]

Dash slipped out of the room with as much grace as he could muster. Quite apart from flashing Leon a little more than the poor boy deserved, he had not actually got around to mentioning the spare key to Ezra. The key was fine, but he knew just handing out unilaterally was not. It was hard enough to win a debate with Ez, never mind when he had the moral high ground. It was a small thing to apologise for, but Dash was not looking forward to it all the same.

He scurried back up to his room and pulled out one his casual two pieces to change into, heading back down via the kitchen. The Rhinnalian was not sure what Leon's favourite nibbles were, so he brought through a selection. It was all high-quality stuff, if not homemade. Cooking was alien to Ezra and he was usually far too busy anyway. Dash made a couple of awesome dishes, but only when he was in the mood. They lived half their week on stuff you could just throw in the oven, though fortunately they could afford the best.

"Here we go" Dash chimed, re-entering and starting conversation to try and bury the awkwardness from before. "I don't know if you're a sweet or savoury guy L but there's a few bits of each, don't be shy". He reached for a tub of the frozen yoghurt Ezra had fetched him, flashing his man a loving smile as he twirled his spoon.

"So you get any further with those Heinsnake guys?" he asked Leon. Dash knew from their catch ups in recent months that the Adumari was carrying more burdens than he sometimes let on. He did not want to let Leon leave without checking in properly.
